Friendly service, cosy ambience, coffee was barely warm. After planning to sit insides and drink my coffee I was thrown out before I could finish it due to an event. This was not explained when I bought my drink nor was I offered a real mug rather than a paper cup. I hope the paper cups are recycled at least.

Frequented this coffee shop every week for the past two months. Experience was positive at first, with the chap providing excellent service. In recent weeks, I've been stood waiting whilst a staff member texts and there's barely a smile to be seen. I'm not even sure I'm getting the oat milk I ask for in my drinks. Customers will start their day here and should receive a positive experience.

Two sips worth of a flat white and two inches of foam is what I was presented with.when I asked for it to be topped up with more milk I received even more foam. As a barista myself maybe more training would help this place! May just be a one off but for a place with “gourmet” in the title I think gourmet should be the standard, you know? Great biscuit and cafe setting though! (I hadn’t taken a single sip in that picture)

I guess these places are always going to be expensive for refreshments as once you are in you are a captive audience. Tunnocks Tea Cakes.....£1.99 for 6 (which is retail price in a shop) you pay more than half of that for 1! I had a regular tea £2.40 - the large versions of the drinks werent much more to be fair.

Tea is fine but no loyalty card anymore. Depending on the day, access to the more comfortable seating is allowed/not allowed because of an iron gate. If visiting while waiting for a train, sometimes barred from nicer seating area and have to go out of station to enter from the road outside! Just odd!

Had a coffee whilst waiting for a train after a business meeting in August 2019. I was greeted with a polite welcome from staff, but it felt very cold as if being read from a card with no eye contact or glimpse of a smile. The place looked clean and tidy. I ordered a large latte, which pleasantly was indeed a good size as often measures are restricted in some coffee houses. I wasn’t asked if it was sit in or take away, so it came in a cup with lid, which is a shame as I had an hour to kill on the tables outside. Unfortunately it didn’t taste great either – quite granular and not very smooth. Also slightly overpriced, even for a large. I’d probably try the other coffee shop on the station next time; so I can compare.

What a lovely place to stop for coffee. Located on the London bound platform, this was well worth a visit. Coffee was about the best I've tasted (ever!) In a station and the service was really great. I cannot believe how staff working in an establishment like this have no sense of urgency. I had 10 minutes before my train and only 2 people were queuing, plenty of time, especially with 2 staff, how wrong I was. The guy serving took nearly 10 minutes to make and serve 2 coffees and the guy in the back never came out. I walked out without a coffee as my train had arrived. Staff in here are pretty arrogant and have no sense of timeliness- people are in a hurry and need to catch trains. In future I will use the Subway across the road where both the service and coffee are better.

Well, what to say, the interior gives off an old worldly vibe infused with the industrial revolution, and it works. The staff were very polite and friendly. It was bitterly cold outside but nice and warm inside. I orders the breakfast special. A bacon baguette and a regular latte. At £4.50 I think this is perfectly acceptable for "railway prices", they didn't skimp on the bacon, it's wasn't cheap and salty and was prepared and cooked in front of me on a panino grill. The coffee... well, I'm a coffee drinker and this was so delicious, the drink wasn't red hot and nor should it be, the taste of the bean and the smooth fluffy milk was genuinely the nicest coffee I've had. Take heed Starbucks!

The espresso here is excellent. There's a good range of food, and even bottled beer from the local Titanic Brewery. In the winter it's lovely and warm, and in the summer it's a nice cool experience. I have used the gourmet coffee bar at Stoke station numerous times and the service has never been any good it's just ideally located when waiting for a train, nothing more. It's been refitted nicely and is accessible once going through the ticket barriers onto platform 1. On my last visit I was served by a middle aged rotund woman who is clearly in the wrong job. I asked for an iced latte and she actually tutted and then angrily made my drink. Clearly any time consuming drink upsets her. Coffee quality good, just miserable staff, if it was on a high street it would be closed down within a few months due to the poor service. There very fortunate they have so many consumers who have no alternative.

Having used the cafe and found the food and staff OK in the past I was mortified this Thursday to be accused (wrongly)of stealing from the chill counter. I was looking for a sandwich and popped in to see what was on offer. Deciding on a bacon sarnie from the 'Pumpkin' cafe further down the platform, I left. Moments later I was confronted - in public - by a staff member who said I'd been seen stealing something. I was obliged to empty my pockets to prove that I hadn't taken anything. I hadn't actually even picked something up when I was briefly in the cafe. So my advice is he food (based on previous visits) is OK and the coffee good, but for me this is outweighed by their appalling customer care. If you do go in and even look at their sandwiches you'd better make sure you buy one! I've not been accused wrongfully of theft at Pumpkin, so even though they microwave their bacon baps I'd still prefer their offer. Their staff are polite people too.

I have driven past many times and it is always busy so I thought it must be good! I was mistaken, it must just be the only place open. The oatcakes and the cheese were completely tasteless, the bacon was only half cooked with uncooked white fat - horrible. Sausage was ok. Waste of money for me because we couldn't eat any of it and it was too far to return. Won't be going again.
