Was not planned but after a big shop I decided to try out the new cafe at tesco pitsea. I was really impressed with the cleanliness and the variety of food but more than anything the service! A lovely worker named Stevie was so attentive she helped me find something appropriate for my dairy intolerant nephew to eat, she also came over and checked in on us mid lunch and gave us a genuine goodbye as we left. She really made the experience special and is a real asset to your company. Will definitely be returning to try some more food and see stevie !

This Cafe has been very poorly updated. The noise level is very high due to the location at store entry and ‘cathedral’ high ceiling that echos all noise. The seats are very close together so hard to have a conversation. Ordering on screens area is cramped and leaves no space for wheelchair users. Chairs scrape on floor and the door to food preperation area squeals when opened, which is often. Small area to the side has very cramped tables. Upholstery is ghastly Salmon Pink. Food is ok and fairly priced but if you can’t enjoy the surroundings it’s a chore to eat here. On plus side is the Staff are friendly and helpful.

Visited today for a couple of coffees. Our Americano coffees were lovely, great tasting coffee. Lovely cups and saucers. Excellent table service. We felt very safe, all tables well spaced, and staff efficient. Just what we needed. Thank you Tesco Pitsea for our chilled pit stop, very much appreciated.

Went to the cafe in Tesco Pitsea today, it was a farce from start to finish. If I'm honest I think they should either close it down or sack and replace all of the staff. They are all miserable, with as much common sense and energy as a drugged sloth. Would it kill them to smile and behave professionally? We ordered a sausage and red onion relish toastie, a latte, a black tea and an omelette. Apparently the omelette was impossible as there was no power in the kitchen but for some reason they could still produce toastie and fries? I declined the offer of a toastie as I am coeliac and cannot eat 'normal' bread. I opted to go without. I wasn't filled with confidence when the girl with the miserable face and too much eyeliner moaned that 'someone else could do the toastie as she didnt know what to do' followed by a general discussion about preferring to work at the 'other place.' We took the drinks (in cups without saucers) to the table and waited for the toastie. The latte was luke warm. We waited, and waited and started to joke that they were making the bread. Eventually one of the staff wandered over and said they'd run out of sausages, seriously??? We are sitting in a supermarket? Obviously it was too difficult to pop downstairs and get a packet out of the fridge. My friend chose a cheese and ham toastie instead. Again we waited and waited, others were being served and there was no sign of our toastie. As we sat there amongst the tables covered in debris from previous customers we wondered why no one was making any effort to clean them. The cafe wasnt busy and there were staff free, in fact one woman was stood behind the counter chugging from a coke bottle, clearly disinterested. Finally the toastie arrived. It was nasty, there is no other way to describe it. Two pale and floppy slices of bread stuck together around one slice of manky ham. I wanted to send it back but my friend said to leave it as he couldnt stand the agony any longer. He went back to get another latte and a tea and was told to have a seat they'd call when it was ready. Again we waited and waited, heard a man come out of the kitchen and a discussion took place about our latte and tea but it still didnt arrive. Finally as my friend was getting twitchy a lady called out the order, he indicated it was ours and she brought it over in a tray (spoiling us with saucers this time). Dont bother, seriously, buy a meal deal instead.

I had a breakfast, served on a cold plate, food was only warm to start with. Fried bread crumbled when I tried to cut it, couldn't pick it up with my fork. However, I was given a freshly cooked piece when I complained. Wouldn't go again

Went for breakfast on start of a busy day. Arrived and found a short queue, took about 10 mins to get served and they had run out of some items. I think the manager was serving the drinks and he was doing his best to get staff motivated as well. Food was ok warm but not hot, my wife did find a hair in hers! I suppose you can say it is a tesco cafe and is average.

I was thinking , a store that size had to have s good cafe - erm wrong. It offers less that a lay-by mobile cafe & is well worth giving a miss. Get sandwiches downstairs & eat them in the car as there’s virtually nothing here. Staff were very nice though

Fairly good portions for the price. Chipper staff. Untidy tables. Badly let down by the food: not very good quality. Nothing hot: all room temperature if that. Nothing worse than a cold breakfast. Would only go again if I were starving.

After a shop I stopped for a bit to eat, I waited what felt in a que of 4 but it took over 20 mins to order my food, I was beginning to think they were catching & making the food themselves. The staff seemed to have no sense of speed. The food was less than hot. I’ve had hotter ice creams. The coffee wasn’t too bad & was reasonably priced

Run of the mill Cafe with-in a Tesco store, decent Sausage Sandwich made with in store baked Bloomer, free read of newspapers and good wi-fi, all simple enough and only £1.99., plenty good enough for a coffee and light snack, bigger meals also on the Menu.

The cafe used to be a nice place while it was upstairs and somewhat secluded, overlooking the entrance, now it is where the customer service area should still be unobstructing the entrance beyond the barriers The cafe was built downstairs and stilk to this day you cannot use your card to pay at the till, you use a digital touch screen covered in greasy finger prints and then pick up a digital table number which seems never to have been cleaned since it was new There are some tan seats which look as though they will get filthyquickpy and a number of tables already scratched, stained and dented to choose from, with seating by freezing cold windows provide unobstructed views of people in the car park staring in at you as though you was a zoo animal. The food is all cooked in the same oil, despite nearly being given someone else's order twice with no checks done at all, and another hostess asking if we had even ordered m anything, rudely, it finally arrived, only the overweight oily server had his badly chewed thumb inside of the bowl, I saw him serving others food and he seemingly makes a habit of putting it in there, which was an enormous out off of the food The food was greasy beyond comparison, tasting only the hot oil which was evident ally used to cook fish fingers in at some stage of its life, giving the potato a disgusting burnt fish taste, I used the paper napkins, a bundle of five of them, to drain the oil out of a single hash brown croutons, disgusting, I left half of it and well not worth the price, currently £2.60 for a can of coke which can be had in the store for 70p Parkihg is available, the front of the store fills up quickly and the other spaces are miles away from the entrance now that the utterly stupid decision to close off the middle doors to the store, an important fire escape route, was taken, because they did not want to employ an extra security guard. The problem when rebranding, is that the rot remains, so long as the same people stay in charge.
