Absolutely appalling service. Waited almost 40 mins for our food: a baked potato with Tuna mayo, a tuna roll, and New York Deli brioche bun. When the food arrived it was absolutely pitiful, the baked potato was dry and the skin was like leather - I couldn't cut it with my knife, the tuna roll was just a buttered roll with no tuna, and the brioche bun wasn't enough to feed a child! The side salad that accompanied the potato was also dry and looked days old. The cafe wasn't particularly busy so the fact that we waited so long for these incredibly simple meals was difficult to understand. I really should have learned my lessons about this place. I once had to have my lunch refunded here because they took so long I actually ran out of time on my lunch hour! Yeah it took them nearly an hour to make fried eggs on toast! Avoid this sorry excuse for a cafe at all costs!

Ordered ham and cheese toasties. I was told we would need to wait 20 mins. I asked if I could have our hot drinks served at the same time. The girl on the till asked us to come back up when the food arrived, as she would probably forget. We finally got our toasties and went up to get the hot drinks. By this time there was a long queue with one girl serving. She continued to serve the queue and we waited a further 20 mins before we finally got our drinks. We then discovered that only one side of the toasties had been toasted. It was very difficult to find a seat as most of the tables had not been cleared. Why Tesco in Kilmarnock don't put a trolley to allow customers to take their trays back like other their stores is beyond me It needs more staff on at busy times such as weekends and more training for those preparing meals. I agree with previous reviews, the staff don't seem to care less.

I regularly go to the Tesco cafe a few times a week. The food even when busy is served in a timely manner, I’ve never wasted longer than 20/30 minutes, which I’m absolutely fine with. Price is OK and not to be grumbled at. Food is good and tasty. Service is lacklustre sometimes, it depends on who serves you. There’s a lady with blonde/brown hair I’ve seen regularly and she’s always smiling and chatty. Other servers are often mute and look like they’re dying a slow death. It’s quite cold to be honest, like sit with a jacket on cool. That’s my only qualm, needs to be cosier, warmer with a warmer atmosphere and warmer friendlier staff. As above, some staff are and if I knew her name I’d applaud her directly. Overall 3.5 but half stars aren’t a thing.

I come in here most Saturdays with my grandparents and today will be the last. Manager was clueless and the girl at the till was slower than a week in the jail. She got the guy in front of us coffee wrong with a mug that had about an inch of water in it.We waited a total of 20 mins to order food and had to repeat ourselves several times for our order and the till girl made several cock ups with the card payment. Waited 30 mins for food which was 4 slices of toast, beans, tattie scones and a roll and sausage. The toast was cold, tattie scones overcooked and the roll and sausage was like a child's snobby kitchen you sliced sausage and had to be changed over with no apology offered. Like I say we go here most Saturday mornings for breakfast but this will be the last time and will go elsewhere from now on as the service was shocking.

We had not been in the tesco cafe for a long time because my Mother had been ill! Usually the place was always busy, so at first it wasn't taking an unexpected amount of time . . 30 minutes later........ Yes i enjoyed my wrap with the chips but Mum's panini was pathetic! Where was the cheese? 1 slice of cold meat! We used to enjoy going to tesco in kilmarnock for lunch, dinner. They clearly don't like the new 6pm hours.

Generally appalled at this place to call its self a cafe. Firstly the staff have to be the most inept people when it comes to ordering food and drink, to be handed a table number for hot food to be ignored is something that seriously needs to be addressed, (not the first time this happened), had to chase up hot food, only to be handed a cold, undercooked bacon roll still oinking. To add insult to injury the waitress/server allowed the person sitting next to us to finger the food that she did not order, absolutely disgusting and for the person cooking, he/she needs to return to training or at least read the manual of the cooking appliance on how to cook items to make them edible and also be of a temperature that passes HSA food safety regulations.

The cafe sits on the first floor of the store but after climbing the stairs I'm afraid it was all down hill from there. I wanted the haddock and chips but was informed by the grumpy woman at the counter that they'd used up the daily quota of swimmers. Apparently the cafe is allocated only five fish per day (that's three more than Jesus had and he managed to spread them around fairly well). Macaroni? None. So I settled for a small plate of bland chicken strips. Just as I was about to get stuck into these delights a guy appeared with a large and dirty motorised floor-cleaning machine and parked it right at my table - with the engine still running - while he wandered off to god knows where. I assume he worked in Tesco and wasn't just some random fellow who'd popped in from the street. Next, a female cleaner arrived and began brushing/mopping around my feet while I was gnawing my way through the chicken strips. I could go on but I won't as I'm even boring myself with this sorry tale. Needless to say, from now on I'll be dining at Morrisons, which if nothing else, provides a much better standard of let down.

As a visitor to this cafe in Kilmarnock I was very disappointed, I ordered a focaccia for lunch. We waited about 20 mins for it to be delivered when it did come it was so hard I failed to get the knife through it. Took it back to the counter and said that no way can I get my teeth through that . To add insult to that I was told that's how they came in. No I replied that it had been in a microwave for too long. I've been a catering manager with Sodexo for many years so I know that it did not come in like that. I asked for a sandwich even that was not cut in two . Just two slices of bread with filling ,did get a millionaire shortbread as compensation. Can I suggest you go to Tesco in Ayr they will show you how it's done. Always well presented no long wait to get it and most enjoyable

Firstly had to clear our own table, not a good start! I ordered macaroni cheese with garlic bread and salad, I asked to have it without the salad. My friend had a sourdough toastie with cheese and caramelized onion pickle. My macaroni came about half an inch of macaroni in sauce, the macaroni had been cooked so much it was hard to distinguish between it and the sauce, it was covered with what tasted like very fine breadcrumbs on top. There was a tiny bit of garlic bread on the side of the plate which was very well toasted and I was unable to eat as it was so hard. My friends toastie looked really unappetising and she said it was really soggy and horrible. Needless to say we will not be returning or recommending this café. Shame on Tesco's for serving up disgusting food

Very long wait for light meals (40 minutes) from order time with no explanation given. Asked our server when it was delivered to the table and was abruptly told they were busy. Very poor service although there were a number of staff behind the counters. Well worth avoiding if you are in a hurry.
