Overall a lovely place to go with nice staff. Lovely staff but arriving at 10am it was very cold and we had to keep our coats on for at least another hour until food and coffee had warmed us up. Food came out hot and was really lovely but because of the cold room, it cooled down before I got half way through. I was disappointed to find they did not have Soya Milk, which seems so basic these days. I cannot have Dairy or Gluten or Nuts so Oat and Almond milk do not work for me.

So lovely and helpful, my little one can’t have wheat, they actually ran and bought some pasta for her so she could eat what she wanted, also ate butternut squash soup and the loaded nachos, all delicious, didn’t take pictures as it was too yummy to wait. Will definitely be coming back again for another visit. All reasonably priced too and the staff were very attentive and friendly. Thanks for looking after us all so well

I was so excited to visit this place after reading the reviews and seeing the pictures. We felt very unwelcome, waitresses have an attitude. Thirty minutes in, the waitress came to put a ‘reserved’ sign on our table, giving us 30 minutes to finish. I got the feeling they just do it to get you to hurry up, to increase their turnover. Not relaxing at all. Don’t understand all the 5star reviews. Food wasn’t great either.

Good food and coffee but was mentioned as a good place to work from which is not. Socket use is not allowed and we were rushed out. Would have surely ordered more food and coffee had we been allowed to stay. It would be enough to set a minimum spend per hour if the problem was people staying there all day long only buying a coffee. Not that it would have made a difference today as the place was basically empty. It's a shame, you could have much more business.

Tasty food, and polite service, but the noise and echo is borderline unpleasant and puts us off going. Hurts the ears, so if you wear a hearing aid you may not like hear your companion. I would really recommend the owners consider installing sound deadening panels.

This is for working people: We went to the cafe this morning, after reading that this place was a great work location for people hoping to have a good drink and meal while getting some work done. On arrival I was told that they don't allow customers to use the plugs. We sat down regardless, thinking we can still have a nice coffee/meal and just work while our batteries lasted. There was no WiFi or mobile network coverage either unfortunately. We are with 2 different providers, and none of us had network. This is not their fault. But in the short 3 minutes of us sitting down and leaving we were asked 3 times what we want with the lady clearly getting annoyed at us for not making a choice quick enough. So we decided to leave in the end as we really didnt feel welcome. It's a shame as I was looking forward to this place all week after reading about it. If you are looking for somewhere to work from, go to Hobbs Coffee instead. Much nicer, welcoming, quiet, you get way more for your money and they have plugs that you are welcome to use.

I visited Towester to have a good look around the town, visited the museum and I walked past the Ten Hands cafè looking at the board and noticed award winning, I turned about and walked in to a pleasant looking Cafè, with great tentative staff who found me a table even it was slightly full. I ordered I think was the signature dish with skin on fries, well the food came on a wooden board that was well presented and brought by a friendly member of staff. The food was delicious and I was making groans to how good it was, that I must of been seen by customers, the food was heaven even the home made dipping sauce was so good. Cakes look so good on show in the front counter glass display. I would highly recommend this place as I could have eaten everything off the menu but I will leave it to another time. Thankyou so much to the young friendly staff and the chef that cooked the amazing food. Don't pass through Towester without going to this wonderful place. I give a Ten Hands out of ten.

We were really looking forward to our visit to 10 hands for my mothers birthday but unfortunately there were a number of problems. We turned up, after booking and paying a deposit for a table for 7 people (5 adults, 1 toddler and 1 baby in the pram) to be seated at a 4 person table. The staff told us that this was a new policy of the management that any 6 person bookings were allocated a table for 4. The staff on shift were helpful in trying to source a bigger table for us to all sit, this took a while (at least 10 minutes). Finally seated on a 6 person table we were given menus but out order was not taken for at least another 20 minutes (we had to eventually ask). The staff were very busy as the resturant was clearly overbooked. One of our party ordered a dish but asked for different bread. Finally ordered, our food arrived and was OK, not worth the wait and hassle so far but we got on with it. One order was totally incorrect but we just got on and wanted to leave. Finally coming around to pay the bill was mad! The person who had a dish with different bread was charged for a totally different meal with extras like 'extra cheese' and ' extra maple syrup', added on separately (he didn't even have any maple syrup!) this made his total around £20 for a plate of avocado, salsa, bread and jalapeños. A totally vegetarian dish. When we queried the bill we were told that the staff had no control and that it was all decided by 'upstairs' so they had to ask 'upstairs' to change it. Eventually this was resolved and we finally paid and the bar and left! I had brought cake and candles for my mum but we just wanted to get out so left before doing this. I had thought booking ahead and paying a desosit would avoid any issues on the day but honestly this was not a fun experience in the slightest and I wouldnt be back or recommend sadly. The staff were polite and tried to be helpful but it appeared they had no power or flexibility, always saying they had to check with 'upstairs'.

Ten Hands Cafe is consistently exceptional. I regularly go for breakfast on Friday mornings and have tried several items from the menu including the Eggs Royale; Full Veggie breakfast, Huevos Rancheros and Avocado smash. I had planned to meet a buddy as he headed back home to Stockport for a catch-up over coffee and brekkie. Our usual venue felt tired so, on recommendation, I booked a table at Ten Hands. Turned out to be a good choice. The weather outside was woeful but the atmosphere inside was warm and inviting and, judging by the disappointed ranks of walk-ins, booking ahead was the right thing to do. Through the course of a lengthy natter, which meant we overlapped the breakfast and brunch/lunch sittings, we enjoyed three lattes apiece (dairy for my buddy and oat for me) plus a light but fulfilling breakfast apiece. Minor criticism on the coffee front are twofold; Firstly, as many do, you’re still charged a considerable % surcharge for non-dairy milks and secondly the coffee was, at best, warm rather than piping hot ( thus needed to be despatched quite quickly after receipt). The breakfasts were good if a tad expensive. Would that stop us going again; No. In the present environment I’d happily pay to ensure the venue is around for future visits, I had the vegan sausage ciabatta which was crisp and light bread enveloping two vegan sausages with a splash of brown sauce. Just the right volume and tasty to boot. It’s just a sign of the economic times that the cost is £7,50 when ,as an old fart, my head tells me it should be 2/3 of that. My buddy enjoyed the Eggs Benedict, which even as a plant-based eater I could see looked good, which was despatched with alacrity; a sign suggesting that it was tasty. (Being picky I could suggest that the poached eggs were a little underdone). On the same basis as my sausage sarnie £12.95 seemed expensive. Notwithstanding the prices it was a very pleasant place to while away the time and the service was first rate. Will definitely be back again and will introduce MrsC too

Went in on a busy Sunday. Nice table, varied menu. Was told someone would take our order but no one returned so we asked if we should order at the till. The waitress said she would come over but took another 8 minutes to do so. Waitresses are polite but don’t follow through with proposed actions quickly, Food came in a good amount of time but our drinks were nowhere to be seen. I was 2 bites away from finishing my eggs Benedict before the drinks arrived. We found this odd as normally you always have your drink out first. I had to ask for our drinks and was told they had prioritised them but had been busy - I’m sorry but that’s not acceptable when we’ve already had our food. Drinks eventually arrived. Delicious apple juice and hot chocolate but unfortunately the latte was cold. The food was delicious. Perfect eggs, nice clean cooked breakfast. So basically, the food was great but the service was slow and the drinks took too long. We’d give it another go based on the tasty food but if the service on drinks does not improve, we won’t return again. We aren’t picky people and accept the cafe was busy but if food comes out quicker than drinks, something is going wrong.

The perfect breakfast: 5 different choices, we all had delicious, hot food efficiently served . Attractive, healthy and joyous eating. My order, an English breakfast, was hot with immaculate fried eggs, tasty bacon rashers with beautifully prepared deep golden crunchy rinds, almost sweet and then salty back with just the right amount of cooking. The highlight for me was the best potato rösti-esque concoction that I've ever tasted anywhere in the world, including Switzerland! Staff were attentive, cheerful and quick to respond to additional orders in spite of a roaringly busy morning service. The staff were always smiling, but the food itself made our stomachs smile even more. Well done everyone at Ten Hands Café Bar: your teamwork was seamless and you made it all looked so effortless. This is a stand-out dish against any discerning standard - great plate appeal, home-made oats & Co and top quality ingredients generally. There was a good atmosphere given the place was pretty full. A shame therefore that the service, whilst efficient, lacked personality and in this sense was forgettable and reduced a perhaps 5 star experience to 4…

A lovely, popular cafe in the heart of Towcester with delicious food and coffee. A real gem. 🌟 I've had both takeaway and dined in here and it has been excellent on all occasions. It has always been very busy but service has been swift and polite. When I came for brunch on a Saturday morning with a friend, we booked a table and I'm glad we did because I think we would have struggled to get in. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. There's a great selection of breakfast, brunch and lunch options along with fresh cakes. The millionaire shortbread was excellent and my husband claims the Brookie was one of the best cakes he's ever eaten. A little on the pricey side but it's worth it for a treat and probably in line with most indepedent artisan cafes. Well worth a visit. ☺️

I recently visited this restaurant, drawn in by its award-winning reputation. However, the overall experience left me somewhat perplexed as to how it had achieved such accolades. The food was average, neither impressing nor disappointing. It was standard fare, nothing that would make me rush back for a second helping. However, the service was where the experience truly faltered. The staff seemed a little disorganised and scattered, we had to repeatedly ask for cutlery. Moreover, the confusion extended to the bill, why paying they gave us the wrong table, there are better systems for this such as assigning a number to each other.

Tried today for the first time for brunch. Great quality food. Friendly welcoming staff. Will definitely return to try other things from the menu. We had the full breakfast and the bacon and sausage ciabatta

I was a new customer to Ten Hands. Having recently joined the local leisure centre I would pop into the cafe for a cake as a post-swim treat. Since being diagnosed as wheat intolerant I find good quality, delicious gluten-free cakes hard to come by;...

We stopped here to share coffee and cake after our dog walk. The coffee was amazing and the cake superb, banana and biscoff. So soft and tasted stunning . Shame there is no covered area for dog owners we were lucky today as the courtyard was sunny and warm.

A somewhat unassuming café/bar that nevertheless serves splendid food. Madam loved her cauliflower & chees soup and my smoked haddock fishcakes were to die for, with perfectly poached eggs on top. Good service and not in your face. Will be back.

We did a walk-in for breakfast brunch today and venue was quite full though there were outdoor seating so we went for that. The smashed avocado was delicious and so was our big breakfast. The little details in getting various bits to taste good was...

Friendly and welcoming. Great food and nice presentation. Hot and tasty and quite a variety with specials on the board. Knocked off a point as large dogs allowed through to rear garden. Nice for dog owners but not so when eating.

Great spot, good food, nice garden, but not really any decent size meal option for vegetarians or vegans, after they stop serving breakfast (11:30am) Paid £11.25 for eggs on toast w/1 tomato + avo. A very nice but expensive snack.

Called in for coffee this morning. Disappointing, sticky table, dirty chair! Ambience very lacking, the cafe inside was very noisy, I would suggest curtains, cushions and other 'noise absorbers' are needed to soak up some of the loud background noise. That said, the staff were friendly and the coffee good.

Quick coffee whilst waiting for a meeting. The place looks a little intimidating from the outside (as in, you can't just go in for a coffee), but it's really relaxed inside and the service was spot on. So much better than the chain coffee shop up the road.

What a pleasure, service is good but not OTT, I dislike set pieces, a machine could do that! The food is consistently good. Keep it up guys.

We had an afternoon tea at the ARTea tea rooms. The staff were very friendly and the tea was delicious and plenty of it including sandwiches, cakes, fruit and scones with cream and jam. The place itself was was an old fashioned tea room which we loved. Will definitely go back.

Such a great pub! And Lyndon & Anna are the nicest, kindest people who really care. Thank you! :)

Very popular on a Sunday & I can see why - the food is great! Mainly roasts purchased in our party, and belly pork. Sadly very little to lure the vegetarians, so I won't be dashing back, but most of my group were extremely impressed!
