Fantastic local pub with community spirit that can host local games and clubs, as well as airing national games like football, rugby and darts. Whilst they don't serve food, all drinks are well priced and the current management have clearly made a lot of effort to overhaul the beer garden and sports/events bar. Recently renovated in October 2023, the bar atmosphere is greatly improved having been opened up with a lovely fresh light wood bar, repainted interior, furniture re-upholstered, and tables re-varnished.

Bar owner / manager was rude from the moment we stepped in the pub. He followed my husband into the toilet and accused him of recreational drug use and was proved wrong. Continued to stalk him from the other side of the bar and added snark comments as he walked by. Yes, we were out celebrating a family birthday and had a few drinks but to be accused of anything else is shocking. Completely unprofessional. Shame, as this is a local pub of ours and we have been Brackley residents for a long time.

Stayed open until 23:00 as advertised, despite being quiet. We arrived fairly late, for a drink, on the three days we were there, but were always made welcome. It's recently been taken over, and they've definitely got the right formula, and are making the effort, in these difficult times. An excellent pint of 'Timothy Taylor Landlord'!

Would give 0 stars if I could. As soon as we walked in, we were unpleasantly met by the landlord (who seemed not not have a care in the world) behind the bar. One of his first comments was “we don’t like coloured in here” or something along those racist lines. We decided to look past this and order a pint. I had a Guinness and my mate had a lager of some sort. Surprise surprise it was flat and tasted horrible. The place is unwelcoming and definitely over priced. Do not reccomend.

It's a small traditional pub with a decent selection of beer (Coors light on draft is awesome) but not great on wine. No Chardonnay.... only pinto or sauvignon blanc. Chardonnay is easily available in lidl or Aldi at £4.00 per bottle so I can't understand why not offered. Anyway.... it's a nice old pub with a decent outdoor seating area too.

Four of us called in here on Saturday evening on the off chance to see if they were open for food. There wasn't anyone eating but the landlord said 'yes, come on in'. It was very obvious that this was a 'drinking' pub but nevertheless we ordered with no problem. Our meals came quite quickly, piping hot and plenty of it. Three of our group enjoyed the scampi & chips which they said were perfectly acceptable, a pretty good 'pub grub' standard. I had the home made steak and ale pie, with chips peas and carrots. One of the nicest steak and ale pies I've had for a long time! Definately home made with plenty of chunky pieces of beef in a scrummy gravy and topped with a really nice puff pastry lid. So, thank you Bell Inn for looking after us.

We were told about this pub in brackley as it is dog friendly, sure enough it was and we were given a bowl of water for the dog along with a dog chew, it was a lovely day so we sat in the garden, we ordered lunch and was told that they didnt do starters as the main course would be enough, It was plenty and freshly cooked probably one of the best pub meals we had had at any pub, and cheap. the lady behind the bar was very friendly and fetched our drinks to the garden for us, will call again for sure, try the piri piri pork loin, delicious. chips were amazing and glutton free.

The Bell has changed hands a few times over the last few years and seemed to have lost its way a little, but now seems back on the up again. The food is proper pub food - no pretend Gasto-Pub stuff here, but no silly prices either, which is refreshing. Just nice pub food, and masses of it. There are a usually a few good Ales on too. If you've drifted away over the years like we had, give it a try again - it's worth it.

Very lovely old pub at the top of the high street, dog friendly. Dogs get a biscuit and a drink as you walk in. The doombar is a popular ale in this pub very unusual that they don't have it on. In the winter its lovely as they have a proper fire going in both bar and lounge. The food is cheap for what you get, the portions are huge. No room for pudding. We waited around 20 minutes which is what you expect. In the summer its great as they have a dog garden and a normal garden where dogs are aloud in but only on the lead. They have a big car park out the back and a decking area with nice looking furniture. Will definetly been returning our dog loves this place as do we!

We recently went to the Bell for a birthday to try the paella because the landlord and chef lived and worked in Spain so thought it worth a try. The taste and quantity was excellent and a very reasonable price, would have liked a couple of decorative prawns on the top but the roasted peppers were delicious and looked great. The only person not having paella had a steak sizzler which looked and apparently tasted fab. Thanks

I visited this establishment whilst staying in this lovely little town. I was most unimpressed with the surly attitude of the lady (blonde lady in her 50's) who appeared to run the place. We were staying in Brackley and decided to visit The Bell Inn at the top of the high street. Upon entering the premises, the landlady was so rude to us that we were stunned. We are very polite people and are from Peru. Unfortunately the landlady there is so racist, rude and unhelpful that we will never return. The other staff member there referred to her as "Julie". While planning to meet friends living 50 miles south of Brackley and I living 50 miles North we decided on the Bell Inn, Brackley. The reviews in Trip Advisor were good and from their web page it appeared like a good old traditional pub and we'd meet up for a mid week pub lunch. Just to be on the safe side I telephoned to try and reserve a table , or at least to make sure it wasn't too busy, mid week. On the third call of being transferred to voice mail, I made a reservation for 1 pm on Wednesday and left my mobile No. just in case there were any problems. I drove down a few days later to find my friends sat in the Pub's Car park just before 1 pm on the day I'd reserved. A couple of other people, sales reps, pulled in and checked if the pub was open. We waited until after 1 pm and realised the pub wasn't going to open for lunch, even thought their web page says " The Bell Inn services home cooked food week days from 12noon – 2pm." Just across the road was The Greyhound where we received a very good welcome & lunch, we were informed at the Greyhound that the Bell Inn does not open at Lunchtime!!

We were recommended by friends for lunch. It is a smart classic quality village pub that is food led. We were warmly greeted by Annie who has been working there for some eight years. When I said we had come for lunch she immediately used my name. She was extremely attentive and although there was just the two of us she offered us a larger table to give us more space. She chatted to us for a short while showing interest in where we lived etc. We had a cheese dipping starter to share and then sausage and mash for my wife and I had the belly pork. All meals were well presented and very tasty. We will have no hesitation in going back. It is worth noting that the Inn also has five bedrooms for longer stays in the area and a number of ladies booked in whilst we were there.
