Temple of Seitan (Camden) in Camden

Temple of Seitan has a great atmosphere with friendly staff. The music is at a perfect volume, making it a peaceful place to eat. I ordered the strips with fries—while I didn’t love the texture or taste, it was still decent. Overall, it’s a nice spot for a relaxing meal.

Probably the tastiest wrap I ever had. The "chicken" wings with BBQ glace and sweet-chili dressing were also great.

I only realised I’d eaten a meat substitute when I came to leave this review and saw it is a vegan restaurant. You got me! Points for creativity and execution—minus one for the deception. That said, for a place called Temple of Seitan, it felt weirdly lifeless. No music, no welcome, just a tablet to order from—if you could find a table with a number label. Maybe the real hell is just eating in silence, wondering if you’ve been forgotten. Great chips, though.

The food was delicious and crispy, the place was beautiful and overall a good experience. The staff was very nice.

Would highly recommend. Great food and service. They sell merch which is really neat (t shirts etc) but they have some neat art work which they should sell but they don't.

Super delicious vegan fast food! The bacon, in particular (on the burger, the mac and cheese, and the Caesar salad) added a great flavor. We found the food to be very filling, but it's worth sharing and trying a few things. We especially recommend the Caesar salad. We would definitely come back!

I would avoid this restaurant at all cost. Food was incredibly dry, untasty and certainly not fresh. Staff was good but the quality was not there. Certainly I wouldn't give it another try.

Some of the best vegan fast food that I've ever had. Nice alternative to vegan health food. It was really good with generous portions, although I would have appreciated some salt packets or a salt dispenser, I thought it lacked salt. We were here for lunch, there were only 2 tables before us. We didn't have to wait long because of that, but the poor guy was working alone, so if there would have been more people, the wait would have been longer.

Such amazing vegan food (Mac and cheese is heavenly) but be prepared to wait 5 hours for any order even if there's no other customers. Note to owner: HIRE MORE STAFF. it shouldn't take 1hr+ for food ANYWHERE. Always looks understaffed and it dilutes the quality of the business.

First visit and somewhere I'll definitely go back to next time I'm in Camden. Food was great and good to have somewhere vege/vegan to go to and be able to choose anything on the menu.

Must visit if you like fried stuff and are in London. Everything’s vegan but even my carnivorous partner loved it so much we had to come here again. Honestly delicious

Great pit stop for some top notch vegan junk food. Our non-vegan kids said it was the best chicken ever. I had the Temple Burger which was great too. It was a self-service/order counter, as a first timer would've liked to be able to chat with staff about menu and recommendations etc.

Great VEGAN fast food option in Camden. You order and pay at a kiosk upfront. We got it togo, when we got back to the rental, we destroyed it. Pro tip: get the brookie, your welcome.

What the hell. I had the Nashville Hot Burger and it was so good!! Best hamburger in my life. Crispy, flavoury, and the seitan was soft and shreddy with the wildest texture. During my vegeterian/vegan journey for two years I kinda missed the taste of fried chicken, but now I can officially say that I don't need to anymore. I am so, so happy your place is in my neighborhood. Will be coming back soon.

I stayed in London for a week and ate here 3 times.. so you can say I loved it! The Nashville hot sandwich is top tier, so saucy and well flavoured. I also had the loaded fries and mac n cheese. I loved everything. Obsessed !

I absolutely loved the “grilled chicken”. It is a very nice, delicious , even nutritious, and nobody had to suffered from it. This is a fully vegan restaurant and I was amazed by their creativity and innovation.

I really loved the food. I had been wanting to try it and finally made it. Only thing I felt was perhaps the portion sizes could have been slightly bigger, but the taste was amazing for me. I would definitely go back.

We ended up in the small restaurant by chance and were very pleasantly surprised. We had the Temple Feast Burger and the Nashville hot. Both very tasty (second only if you really like spicy) Plus fries that were very good! We can warmly recommend this shop, plus the relatively low prices 🙂

Great place for plantbased junk food. Tried the vegan popcorn chicken bites and they were great. Have visited another branch before, this was has good seating spaces and the place looked clean.

The Temple was on my London bucket list of vegan spots to try while visiting. I was so hyped for this spot. Out of all my vegan London spots- this wasn’t on the top runner of faves. Food was okayyyy …. Not as super mind blowing as I pictured. Photos on their social portrayed a super massive, battery, thick vegan chicken strip. I got super flat, barely any batter & dried out inside vegan chicken. The loaded fries were good. There was so much gravy they were pretty soggy by the time I finished. All in all- it’s amazing to be a fully vegan fast food style joint in London. But the food needs some tweaking to match more of what they advertise. Maybe I came on a fluke of a day & just didn’t luck out? I still enjoyed having a vegan meal while exploring London.

I never ever leave reviews but I felt the need to leave one for this place! I was so impressed by the quality of the food here; I got a simple burger with fries and a mikshake, and it was genuinely one of the best meals I've had in a while. I was also very happy with the prices, since vegan food is usually a bit more expensive, but temple of seitan has managed to keep prices reasonably low--I have to say I'm super grateful for that as a student. It's refreshing to see a vegan option that is actually similar to other fast food chains in the city. Definitely worth a visit!

Iconic - wanted to go there for years now and finally got to go! I had the waffle and vegan chicken which came with syrup and ketchup. My partner had the pickle sammich. Everything was delicious and the art on the walls was another cool aspect! 10/10!

I’d been looking forward to eating here, but I regret it so much. There was very LOUD music playing, which wasn’t good, especially as I was the only customer for a while. I ordered some vegan wingz which had a nice coating but were rubbery and flavourless inside. The seasoned chips were the only good thing, and I enjoyed them. The cookie was hard and flavourless. I usually enjoy plant based meat substitutions and I’ve always liked cookies, but I couldn’t finish either because they were bland and heavy. It was a real disappointment.

Temple of seitan used to be my go to spot but I haven’t been in 2-3 years. I visited today and realised the recipe had changed and the portion sizes of the burgers and wraps were significantly smaller than they used be which was very disappointing as the prices were still the same but for smaller portion and what I found to be lower quality food. It was a shame as I was really looking forward to it and was quite disappointed. Staff were attentive and menu was the same however the food wasn’t how I remember. They need to change the recipe and bring back the bigger portions.

I really liked the branding as well as the taste of the seitan 😍. Cannot wait to come back and try more

Food is great. Unfortunately our order was lost and we waited for almost an hour before our rumbling tummies were sated!

We have been eating here for years since this branch was in a different location on the canal and we absolutely loved it...but it feels like the quality has slipped a little more each time we have come over the past couple of years. The recipe was changed a while ago and it's alright but it just isn't as good anymore - it's quite mushy in texture. I have always ordered the Buffalo wings, burger or wrap, and ordered it again this time but the sauce appeared to be different. It seemed a bit watery/thin and it lacked flavour whereas it used to be thick and flavoursome. My partner always orders the garlic parm wings and he said they lacked any garlic flavour at all this time and they were really dry - usually they are tossed in garlic butter. The mac was creamy but it lacked flavour and the dip pots have also massively reduced in size. The only thing that was without fault was the tater tots which were fresh and crispy. We ate in and there weren't a lot of other people there, but the kitchen was super busy with lots of delivery orders. You could see the staff were working as hard as they could but it meant service was really slow and we had to wait ages for our food. It also meant there were loads of delivery drivers hanging around right next to the kitchen which was off putting. Something in my order was wrong and it had to be made again but it took ages to come by which point my parter had finished eating already, and I was fed up and just wanted to leave. I always say that it's important to support the original vegan businesses that helped bring vegan food into the mainstream, rather than going to big chains where they put a gratuitous vegan option on the menu...and I really didnt want to leave a negative review as a result. But I see this as the only way to really feedback our experience and I hope improvements can be made. Unfortunately I don't think we will be coming here again anytime in the future as we left disappointed and unsatisfied. Such a shame.

We were left waiting for 1 hour while the staff prioritised delivery orders. The restaurant started to fill up with customers but no one was getting any food. Eventually people started to go up to the counter to ask what was going on. It was only then that the staff clocked on that there was an entire restaurant of customers sat about waiting for their orders. It didn’t occur to any of them before this that maybe everyone was sitting there having ordered their meals already. Finally they started to get food out. But instead of getting food to the people that ordered first they did it in reverse which meant the tables who had been waiting longer had to wait even longer than others who arrived after them. We were one of the first tables to order but we ended up getting our food after everyone else. Food is good when it comes but awful service when the staff don’t even realise that people are waiting for 60 mins plus. Totally oblivious. Would be reluctant to return.

The staff is friendly, the burgers are very good but the sides (chicken wings and fries) are too salty. There is a choice for burgers. Good experience overall!

Best vegan food around and with Indian food around that's saying something. Elite service too honestly, I've never had a bad experience, even when one time they got our order confused or lost or something they were quick to try to correct it and let us stay past closing time to eat our food. Today I really liked that one Indian girl working there, she's nice and caring, just the kind of person to make you feel welcome. Definitely visit this place, I go there every time I want to inhale food and eat my feelings.

Food was good, not great. I found most of the items too rich or too salty. The loaded fries were very rich, if you're sharing the item it might be fine but having it on your own is just too much. The burgers were good but a bit too salty. The only things I liked there was the mac and cheese, however the portions are a bit small as they are a side only, and their lemonade. The strawberry milkshake tasted a bit artificial. Overall good prices. Also they have very good pickles.

Used to be bloody tasty vegan junk food, if a little overpriced. The last time I went, though, the vegan bacon in my burger was really soft and barely cooked and had a really weird texture.

Bit of a mixed bag really here lads. The food? Enjoyable. It was okay. For vegan fast food joints go, okay. The service? Wasn't friendly, but food arrived promptly. Atmosphere? There was no one in here. Quiet. A real mixed bag unfortunately.

I love this place it's my favourite vegan restaurant I am a massive fan of the temple wings which are like chicken wings and their sauces are delicious i would recommend the temple wings with the buffalo sauce and Chipotle mayo it's delicious I cant wait to visit again

Found this place on route to London Zoo. Couldn't wait to tuck into a nice Chicken burger and chips but was majorly underwhelmed upon taking the first bite - didn't hit the spot at all. It makes sense now reading the reviews as i've just seen this place is vegan only. Why not call it it a VEGAN chicken burger so people know? Disappointed! Each to their own but at least have some info to let people know its vegan in there.

Ate in early Wednesday afternoon, and was very disappointed 😞 the seitan (popcorn and wings) was flavourless, dry and rubbery. The only redeeming part of our meal was the shake and temple tots. Where are the herbs and spices? Revisited with my partner because of because of 🔥🍗 Hot Wings left feeling less hot 😭 Most the service is automated. Years ago, I went to temple of seitan and it was amazing, but that's the past now.

Used to love coming here when it first opened, hadn't been back in years until this afternoon when I spent £7.50 on two small fillets that were incredibly dense, tough, and flavourless. From looking online it seems they changed the recipe a few years back, so if like me you're looking for a repeat of one of the best meals you've had in London, maybe find somewhere else to avoid disappointment! It's also all very impersonal now; while the staff were kind and quick with making my food, I had to order on a till and didn't speak to anyone. Nothing to do with the staff on the floor / in the kitchen, but please can the higher-ups make the decision to go back to the old recipe! Can see lots of people saying similar stuff in reviews of the Hackney branch. You used to be the best!

Delicious food - the vegan garlic parmesan wings are amazing, would definitely recommend.

I'm sad to say I was a little let down by this spot. The seitan was good but a touch greasy and heavy. All the chicken options are essentially the same thing in a different size and shape. I wanted to love it, but it was just ok when it comes to the vegan options in London.

I hadn't visited London since 2014, so this place was on my bucket list! 📝 We ordered breaded chicken, chicken burger and the mac and cheese!!!! It didn't disappoint at all!! Everything was delicious!!! I recommend it 100% ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Really nice vegan burger - I had the BBQ chick'n and my partner had the nashville hot. Both really enjoyed them, nice casual fast food vibe to the place too. Good portion sizes, we both got a combo (burger, fries and drink) for £12 each, which is good for London!

One of the few places you can find vegan milkshake. I had the temple deluxe burger and strawberry milkshake. My friend ordered a bucket of chicken wings, chips and popcorn chicken and a milkshake. We also had gravy, it was the first time I've had gravy. We shared everything. My friend also ordered a biscuit and a brownie. Everything was incredibly tasty. The burger was fantastic, I'd rather have the burger than the chicken wings but the wings were also very good. The highlight was the strawberry milkshake, I completely fell in love with it. It's amazing to me that they make it with rice. I actually came to this place 3 more times during my visit to have the milkshake. However the portions were a bit of a miss. I found the burger to be on the small side and the "regular" size for the milkshake is actually very tiny. You can see it in the photos, there is a "large" and a "regular" milkshake in one of the photos. it's more like regular is small and large is regular.

I had the temple burger, the chicken wasn’t as crispy as it could have been but otherwise delicious. Tater tots were amazing! It would be nice to have a bit of music playing in the background. The poor server was running around but very friendly and quick service!

The wait for food (despite not many customers) was pretty long, and the service when it arrived was lacklustre to say the least (the tray of food was just plonked at the end of the table). The grub itself was OK, but not good enough for me to want to come back again.

I had been following Temple of Seitan on social media for years, wanting to go there if I ever had the opportunity, so when my fiancé and I planned a vacation in London we absolutely had to try it. And oh my goodness, it was most definitely worth it! We had the Nashville hot sandwich, the Nashville hot wings and animal snack pack fries, and it was by far the best vegan chicken we've ever had. Absolutely delicious!

This review might be skewed by a lengthy exploration of the London zoo before the meal, but I’ve never felt such gluttony toward any vegan dish. When the food arrived after a quick and easy order at the kiosk, I couldn’t help but stuff my face full of all the delicious food, from fries and tots to the BBQ Burger and the wrap - everything was perfect. Eating at the Temple of Seitan really does put into perspective how much do we rely on food in our daily lives, as I felt the animalistic urge to devour as soon as the pristine smell from the kitchen hit my nostrils. I respect the burger, but I also am afraid of it. 5/5 recommend to anyone

Amazing vegan fried chicken, nice easy fast food!

Easy ordering system super obvious on entry. Lots of seating. Staff were super helpful and the food didn't take too long. Quality of food is immense, it's by no means a healthy vegan alternative but as a treat I can't recommend enough.

Ordered from Uber Eats and had a disappointing meal. The wrap lacked flavor, the burger was saved by the bbq sauce, and the loaded fries were mediocre. I won't order from here again. Don't waste your money, make some toast.

The food was amazing. The restaurant really needs a trash can so diners can clear their own trays. People leave their dirty trays on the table, and the staff are busy cooking, so no one has time to clear tables. Otherwise, I highly recommend it.

It's really amazing to have a fully vegan fast food, even if they don't really use the V word. There is really no reason to kill any chicken since this seitan tastes and looks absolutely the same.

I visited alone on a rainy day. Was nice to have somewhere to sit and warm up and charge my phone, which was also 100% vegan. I enjoyed the garlic parmesan wings, fries, cheese sauce and a strawberry cheesecake milkshake. The atmosphere and music was pleasant. It was my second time here and I'd come again.

Love what they’re doing but every time I order from them or eat there I’m somewhat disappointed?? I honestly prefer the Quorn chicken nuggets to their tenders. I will probably eat here again and maybe I just haven’t tried enough of their menu.

Holy bleep! Possibly the best buffalo sandwich I have ever had! So saucy and flavourful! Perfect amount of pickle! The chk’n is so satisfying. So good I had it for lunch then went back for dinner since Im not from here… I would highly recommend this spot!

I ordered on Uber. I think you guys should be sued. Even if I had the intention of ever becoming vegan, after tasting your AWFUL chicken wrap, not even a consideration anymore. Absolutely vile. It's a quality vegan QSR with above par service and quality food offer. Love its 100% vegan food, burger I had was great , tad disappointed had to pay extra for a slice of tomato and then didn't get it 🤔 Otherwise all good inc surprisingly excellent filter coffee (if small and pricey), plenty of sockets too. We liked it. Service was pretty good. We thought we'd stay 'original' and tried the Temple Wings. They're pretty nice. The coating is spot on, but perhaps the seitan could be a little firmer. Just our preference. The fries are amazing. If I was out and about late in Camden and needed a vegan fast food bite to eat, I'd definitely be choosing this place over ALL of the opposition. It's good and we'd recommend it.

I absolutely love this place! I highly recommend the vegan fried “chicken” in particular - it’s the best I’ve ever had. The food is always hot, well-presented and delicious.

Used to love ordering from here but the last delivery we got was super disappointing - the fries were undercooked and unseasoned (even though we usually love the chickn seasoning), the bacon on the burger was also undercooked and the fillet size smaller than usual :( the Mac n cheese is still amazing though! Hoping it was just a one-off bad order but not sure we will order again - disappointing for the price (£30 for two burgers and two sides)
