What a find - we went on Sunday and it was one of the places open. It didn't disappoint amazing cakes and coffee in a lovely setting. The place is well thought out and even played a great mix of indie music.

Atrocious service. Ignored for 10 mins at counter then waited over half an hour for 2 brews. 2 members of staff serving 6 customers for brews and cake. I have spent my life in catering and this place was unbelievably bad

What an amazing gem on the beautiful island of Harris. We had tea and coffee and delicious cake. Served with a smile and conversation. And it is open on Sunday! Thank you.

Was a bit disappointed in the Temple having visited it many times before. The only options they had were tea/coffee and cakes with limited inside seating. They used to do lovely lunches. The cake was delicious at £4 a slice.

Maybe early November isn't the time for visiting. The place came highly recommended by a few folk in Stornoway when we mentioned that we were heading to South Harris. It was fine. Not bad. The only savoury choice was a (cold) sausage roll. Very tasty but we'd have liked options. Same with the traybakes. three choice but we'd have liked more. What we had was tasty enough and the coffee was good. Perhaps it's a bit busier and better stocked in Summer months and best visited then

This is a beautiful spot and a quirky building which I love. Also about the only place open on Sundays. Had tea, coffee and cake which we took with us as there was no room inside and just a bit too windy to sit out. That’s lovely on a nice day though. Also tried the expensive Wild Eve which I’m afraid to say, I’m not a fan of. It used to be a happy place but I’m afraid I have to agree with others that the girl serving was rather unwelcoming. If you don’t mind that then it’s certainly worth a visit if you’re in the area.

We were told this place was open on Sundays, perhaps not best day to go. Not a very warm welcome by the hostess, less than friendly. Ordered two coffees and asked if we were sitting in or takeaway. Sitting outside as we have a dog. No scones so asked for two small sausage rolls, cold and greasy. Took them outside, came back in for coffees, no handles on mugs, and no one offered to open door, had to wait for a customer coming in = £15.10 ???

Great mocha and best frangipane! We stopped briefly to get some espresso drinks which were really tasty. We had a raspberry almond frangipane that was tender and delicious. Wish we had gotten another one to take on the road with us. It was a cute spot and service was friendly and welcoming.

We travelled by family to the Temple after reading the great reviews and were hoping for some light lunch/sandwiches and cakes. After having travelled quite a bit we arrived and were very disappointed as there was no food for sale and only Tahini cookies and fudge. Definitely not what was advertised and definite lack of a warm welcome also.

Excellently situated little cafe (and one of the few open on a Sunday in November over here). Great coffee , teas and cakes. Lots of animals too which adds to the friendliness of the place

The Temple was a much appreciated gem of a find. The location and views were phenomenal and the food was out of this world. As I said, the food was spectacular, very different and truly delicious (all freshly baked) and proper hot chocolate and fresh coffee. We elected to sit outside where there was lots of space, great views with water for the dogs. Inside the cafe was warm welcoming and the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of all the local products. That said, it is stocked with freshly baked goods, local natural products ranging from soaps, ales to remedies etc. and so much more. Super interesting. We'll re-visit for sure and recommend to anyone & everyone.

Excellent little place with a lovely situation. Worth the drive and open on a Sunday which is a real help when so many places are closed. Very nice coffee and good non dairy options available. Enjoyed the lemon and thyme cake.

We found this little gem one of the very few places open on a Sunday. Cute building housing a little cafe/bakery. Bought a lovely sour dough loaf and my husband had a great pastry. Unfortunately, although they advertised having vegan options there were none available. Also no decaf coffee so I left empty handed 😕

Having arrived in Harris 5 hours earlier than expected on a Sunday morning and, therefore, too early to check in to our hotel, we went for a drive down the main road. We hoped we might find something open to grab a drink, and possibly something for lunch, but weren't holding our breaths. We were pleased to discover this weird little place, and even more pleased when we tasted the quiche; delicious flavours from one chorizo & cheddar (I believe) and one feta and caramelised onion, as well as lovely pastry - definitely some of the best quiche I've tasted. We also had a couple of good lattes and, to take away, a couple of their home-baked cakes; all lovely. I'd definitely recommend this place, although it only opens at weekends, so you need to time it right!

If you find yourself on the West coast of Harris on a sunny day - congratulations! You are already winning at life. Celebrate this with a cup of tea and an excellent bun at this beautiful wee cafe. The converted stone building is quite lovely inside and out, with stunning views and a cracking selection of bakery treats. You’re just a few minutes from (the generally quiet) Northton beach, if you need an extra fix of white sands and turquoise waters.

We were very pleased to find this spot open on a Sunday towards the end of the season. Apparently so was everyone else so they were a little short on cake as we arrived, however some amazing chocolate tarts magically appeared shortly after! Great coffee too. It's an interesting building an organic feeling blending into the landscape. We had a browse at the local produce including skincare products.

This small family run hotel is a breath of fresh air. It greets you like a warm hug from the moment you enter. The rooms are furnished with good taste and good quality. The bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide choice of options. We had dinner on two nights. On Sunday it was served in the main dining room and on Monday in the bar/pub. The bar/pub in a separate building at the rear of the hotel is a wee gem with a great atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to return in the future
