Templar Hotel in Leeds

It didn’t feel the most welcoming of pubs when I visited late afternoon on a weekday, but the place did grow on me. It’s very traditional inside and as well as plenty of tables there’s some good bar style seating throughout. Prices were sensible and there’s a decent enough range of drink options. Plenty of TV screens are spread throughout so it’s a ideal place to keep up with sport. For a quiet relaxing drink I’d return.

My local even though it’s in town. The staff and beers are excellent and really reasonably priced. I visit at least 5 times a week. They always make an effort for different occasions throughout the year. Halloween, Remembrance Sunday, Christmas etc and raise a lot of money through events and football competitions for MacMillan cancer trust. My favourite pub bar none.

Tal vez el último gran pub tradicional en el centro de la ciudad de Leeds, The Templar es sin pretensiones, amable, con una gran selección de cerveza de barril y un servicio eficiente. El arrendador trabajador merece una mención. Tal vez no sea un lugar para ir a una cita, pero si quieres una pinta adecuada, en un pub adecuado, The Templar es una gran opción.

We had such an amazing evening. Chatting with the locals. Lovely real people. Craig and his bar staff were hilarious. Love them… The best was when music started last Sunday. If you want to dance boys and girls …. This bar is your making. Happy people. Real people with stories and fun. Craig will look after you . He’s the best! I’ve only been in there once when I dropped my daughter off at Uni’. Safest and happiest place to be. Enjoy everyone. So jealous I’m back in Cambridge. Xx

Not actually a hotel pub but one of if not the best pub in Leeds for service quality of drinks. Not a real ale fan myself however the selection is very good. Always a good laugh no trouble excellent sports coverage. Staff always friendly and a laugh to talk to . Regular visitor weekly as always feel welcome and made some good friends defo recommend 🍻🍻🍻🍻🥳🥳🥳🥳

The bar staff are very very friendly, the beer is always fantastic especially the ales with 12 wickets. I cannot rate the rooms as it is not a hotel just a good old fashioned ale house. The best in Leeds City Centre

I have been coming in this amazing art and crafts bar for 37 years on and off and more on these days as the bar staff and customers are great in my humble opinion.

So nice to find a proper pub in the centre of Leeds, classic pub feel inside, very friendly management and staff, and a great range of ales and drinks. No pretences here, but a good old fashioned, friendly and enjoyable place to have a pint whilst out in the city centre.

It was my first time in the Templar, and I found the atmosphere very nice.

This pub has been here all my life and I’ve just discovered it. Not many of the traditional type pubs left in Leeds city centre but this is one of the best. Great landlord lovely staff and friendly customers. And a Great pint of Guinness if that’s your tipple.

One of the best pubs in Leeds - traditional feel to it and fair prices across all beers (£4.45 for Guinness) love sports shown on the many tv's around inside as well. Staff are very friendly! If you're wanting a nice pint in between shopping or to watch live sport I highly recommend going here! Will be back.

Wow what a fantastic afternoon. Excellent beer ( Old Peculiar) really friendly staff. I asked to speak to the manager ( Ian ) to congratulate him on the well kept ale's and how well the staff managed the bar. People were trying to push in and they dealt with it so professionally!!! Hats off all round

All the stars are genuine, however the gents toilets stank, no toilet roll either, maybe shows what they think of their customers?

Serve a great pint of guiness probably the best in Leeds by far. Located right near my favourite restaurant too. Bus stop over the road. Excellent.

Good Cider whilst watching RL. Was busy & you need to get there early for a seat but the crowd thinned out fairly quickly when footy was over.

All pubs should be like this. Real ale is part of the furniture here and is taken care of impeccably. Good wooden interior, lively crowd on a Sunday night along with the DJ.

Great beer and friendly staff, I was on holiday for a few days and I was able to enjoy a Champion's league match on TV in this pub. Unfortunately there was an unsavory smell coming from the bathrooms but I'm sure it was taken care of soon after. If I should find myself in Leeds in the future I will surely visit this pub again.

This is a little gem of a pub. Such a friendly atmosphere from staff and patrons. Craig the barman is a superstar who made the experience sooo much better! He was so lovely, friendly and cheerful. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants a friendly, fun atmosphere 😀

Myself and my partner visit the templar quite frequently on a Friday night or Saturday night even though we are NOT regularise we're in this Friday just gone nad yes it was very very busy but even after waiting for 10 minutes to be served IT WAS worth the wait the staff as usual were certious and friendly YES IT is a quaint OLD fashioned pub. But YOU cannot beat the old fashioned types these days I WOULD sooner be in an old fashioned boozer to some of these modern day places

Cask ale only £2.3 a pint on Monday. Try the Old Peculiar. Wonderfully smooth! Good malt sweetness and favour balanced with a little hops. Would definitely return next Monday to try other local cask ales.

I been drinking in this pub with friends for many many years with no issues, but they is a member of bar staff called Craig that just likes to bring issues, just watch what you say to or around him as he loves to run and tell tales, and by him doing that got me barred, last year, no loss really and myself and friends go drink else where now so it’s business they have lost, Keep up the good work that’s all I can say, no life lost if owt did me a favour

The Templar is a great pub even by Leeds high standard. Always a good selection of beers served in perfect condition. Friendly locals & welcoming bar staff. I visit Leeds once a month & they always ask 'Is it a pint of Kirkstall Brewery?'. Exterior is by Burmantofts tiling. The traditional wood interior still has its bell pushes. Quite central so definitely worth a visit if you want to experience the real city and its history & avoid generic bars

Came here on recommendation by staff at the Town Hall Tavern and we were not disappointed. A gem of a Greene King pub that has lots of guest ales ( plus Peroni and Madri on tap for the ladies.) Paulicarus started on Osset White Rat followed by Belhaven 80 shilling and finally Kirkstall Three Swords. A blackboard displays the full range of 8 real ales. The bar is long and narrow with beams and oak panelling. Lovely fixtures and fittings. Too many TV's for me. Will definitely add it to my list of favourite Leeds bars.
