A real let down for Sunday lunch after always being great quality. Having had Sunday lunch here previously both eat in and takeaway at least half a dozen or more occasions Sunday lunch on this occasion was so disappointing. There is no doubt the cauliflower undercooked to the point it was too hard to eat. The chicken was clearly pre cooked sliced breast from a packet, heated up and tasted awful and was so chewy. One tiny undercooked roast potato and only a teaspoon of cabbage. Never have I been served a Sunday lunch with one roast potato. The portion size was so small and did not even amount to a plate of food. The tastiest part was the gravy. Today I was served by a different lady, who I understand is the owner. I could see plastic bowls of everything in that he kitchen which seemed liked everything is heated up. The most disappointing experience today, totally different to all other occasions eating at Teddybears which has left me feeling like I’ve been ripped off. On all over occasions the roast has been good quality and good value. Local feedback has always seemed to be mixed, especially when it comes to quality and portion size. I have however recommended the tea room on many occasions and now feel sorry I have. The waitresses however, have always very pleasant and the tea room itself very quirky with some nice cakes although I understand these are bought in opposed to home made. It’s a shame todays Sunday lunch was such a disappointment.

A great little spot for a Sunday lunch ... except if you want the vegetarian option which is the Sunday lunch without the meat and without an other option. The menu says vegetarian option available but sadly there is not one!

This was by a country mile our favourite cafe until our last visit when the waitress didn't have a clue I asked for a sandwich without side salad but was still given it. Four cherry tomatos, four slices of cucumber, and a tiny pot of. Coleslaw. £3.00 extra. And the prices for a small cafe have gone through the roof. Please can we have our old cafe back .

I was told the Sunday Lunch here was lovely and home made. I had been over the road to Castle Bistro the week before and it really was beautiful but thought I would give the Teddy Bears Tearoom a try. I thought the price was great but then quickly remembered you get what you pay for. My mum asked for cappuccino but was given a latte, which she was happy to drink but the coffee I had tasted like it was out of a cheap jar. The meat on the roast dinner was very tough and didn't come with mint sauce as advertised, we had to ask for it. The carrots tasted like they had been microwaved from frozen. There was plenty of mash potato and what looked like a small piece of a new potato in its skin. I asked if they had roast potatoes with the meal and I was brought 2 small pieces of new potato and this was supposed to be the roast. I was then told they were having problems with the suppliers over the roast potatoes, so it sounded like everything was frozen and reheated. Staff were lovely but one staff member sounded like she had a heavy cough and was coughing into her hands and not washing them before handing out food and cutlery etc. I think this place is ok for people wanting a cheap, heated up meal but its not for me and I also like a bit more of an atmosphere. Apart from a dog at the table barking at another dog outside, it was very quiet. Try the Castle Bistro over the road!

Disappointing Sunday lunch. The food seemed to have been reheated in a microwave. The vegetables had a very strange texture, as if they'd been reheated. The chicken, which was a breast, was extremely dry. The gravy was nice, but there wasn't enough of it. Very disappointing, we wouldn't return.

A lovely cafe with friendly personable staff. A great menu catering for all tastes from full homemade meals through to sandwiches & cakes etc. We chose off the specials board £8.95, I had the lamb pie with mash & mushy peas & my dining partner had the steak pie with chips & mushy peas, both were excellent & tasty, the pies were well filled with good chunks of meat, my gravy had a slight hint of mint. Visited three during our weeks stay in the area. First two visits for breakfast, 2 very friendly members of staff. Brilliant breakfasts. Both visits about 1/4 to 10. On one occasion they apologised that the hot water urn was not quite up to heat but took our breakfast order and very quickly arrived with the tea as well. On the Saturday I went in at about 9.55, while my husband went into local shop for a newspaper, to be greeted by a different woman who was very stroppy. Kitchen in darkness, said nothing was turned on and what did I want- tea, coffee or what. Said we were wanting breakfast and that we would wait. When my husband came in and realised how unwelcoming/stroppy she was he said would go somewhere we were wanted and we left

Called in yesterday with my husband & we were greeted by a friendly lady and we both chose the afternoon tea. There was a nice selection of sandwiches, a big fruit scone with clotted cream & jam and also a large slice of Victoria sponge with a raspberry jam & fresh cream centre. We both chose tea & were given a pot each & a bowl of crisps to share too. After eating the sandwiches, crisps & scone we were both really full and asked another, equally friendly lady if we could take the sponge cake home. This wasn’t a problem & it was bagged up for us. We really enjoyed the visit in cute ‘teddy bear’ surroundings. The afternoon tea was plentiful and tasty, and the tea was lovely & piping hot. We’ll definitely go back again.

Dined on Saturday evening with my wife, the staff got our drinks order wrong 'twice' and the 'sommelier' literally just plonked the bottle of wine on the table and was gone. My wife's meal was fine, she enjoyed it and I tasted it also finding it ok, my mistake was to order the 'mixed grill' [I was hungry], however, as we all know the grill is just 'thrown' together as it is for neanderthals, there was more grease and fat on the 'SLATE' that it was served on than a chip shop counter, and the slate... I mean, just because it's a meal for a caveman doesn't mean you should eat it of a stone!!! Why bother giving us a knife and fork? Also, the atmosphere was more akin to an eat in KFC/McD's, very noisy and rushed. So, in conclusion, Levant... Leave Out!
