Quality. Just quality. Stanton Burger meal on it's on. Without the 2 stone of chips. All for 5.50 don't know how they do it. Amazing. Love it!!! 😁😁😁😁

All I can say is Chelly and Teresa! What a welcome! We weren’t going to eat but we did! Cheese Burger was excellent, I am vegetarian and just fancied a cheesy chips and side salad! Both presented perfectly and I thoroughly enjoyed them and the home made coleslaw too! Great music, great atmosphere and great locals! We have booked for Sunday Lunch Too!

Just had Sunday lunch beef cooked for 14 hours which melted in my mouth the cauliflower cheese was excellent and the roast potatoes were to die for the staff are very friendly they go out of there way to make your stay comfortable and the best thing is it’s dog friendly you can’t take your dog into the restaurant part but we found it just as comfortable near the bar area

Great spot for fair pub food well done at a reasonable price. We looked at other pubs in the area and decided on this one to eat , we had a stanton burger which consisted of burger, bacon, sosage,egg, cheese and onion rings. Chips salad and slaw priced under £12.00 which I have to say was fantastic value and they didn't skimp at all. The staff took the time to talk to us and make us feel very welcome. Biker friendly which I thought was another nice touch.,even though I wasn't on my bike the decor and pictures show someone knows a thing or two about bikes. All in all a great experience in great surroundings A+*

What a great pub. Excellent location, tasty food, lovely staff and top live music too. We came upon this wonderful place when looking for a decent place to eat. We were not disappointed.

This review is long overdue. We were canal boating on a mission to do a return trip that covered all the aqueducts on the Bank Holiday weekend. We were going to be a party of 9 so had to book and, having read the reviews for other canal-side establishments, and knowing that there was no way we could be accurate about timings, I gave the Stanton House Inn a call. Chelly could not have been more helpful, even offering to keep the kitchen open a little later if we were running behind. Chelly made us all so welcome, cheerfully put up with our delaying over making choices and the extras that we requested. The food was fabulous. proper 'pub grub' so nothing fancy, but absolutely fabulous. Hot and tasty (my curry was divine). I really cannot recommend Chelly and her pub highly enough, and can only apologise for the delay in this review! The boys loved their desserts, and basically all plates returned empty with all food polished off! For no-thrills pub grub in a friendly environment, look no further!

Pretty good pub. TT on one telly. Rugby on the other. Beer was good and people having a good time. Raccoons the dog was awesome and cuddly.

Lovely Sunday roast for the three of us and reasonably priced. Ordered and didn't take long to arrive at the table. A nice choice of lamb, chicken of beef. Vegetables all cooked well and enjoyed the cauliflower cheese. Would go back again.

I was expecting good things having read the reviews of this place unfortunately I was very disappointed. It was very quiet, just us & one other couple inside the restaurant & few others outside despite this it took a while for us to be acknowledged at the bar & were then told to go & sit anywhere. I had a tuna salad which was enjoyable but my husband’s chicken curry was not good with him having to pick out pieces of chicken which were chewy & inedible. I decided I would like a dessert but after sitting & waiting for a waitress to come & take an order we gave up, went to the bar to pay our bill & left. It wasn’t really a good experience.

Looking for a bite to eat in Chirk and found this place. We weren't disappointed. We had burgers and the food was tasty and hot, but also good value. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Highly recommended from us. Would call again.

The burger was especially memorable and was one of the absolute best I've ever eaten. Kudos to the landlord who also is the chef and everything was tiptop.

Having dietary restrictions I always worry about eating out. I had no concerns at all. Chelly is very knowledgeable about gluten free and other restrictions. I opted for homemade Lasagne which was gorgeous but there were so many other options I could have chosen. Chelly offered swaps to cater for my restrictions. Lovely meal and such a warm welcome

Great pub with very reasonably priced food. The staff are lovely as well! Generous portions and plenty of choice on the menu.

Came here after food had finished with three hungry children, only for the owner to them help us out and made the girls food. Helped us with chargers as my daughters tablets had died. All the kids loved the food. Massive portions even the ice cream! Set us up on their wifi. Could not recommend enough! Lovely staff really helpful. Would come back!

Food and beer ok, but music a bit heavy and intrusive for lunchtime

Fantastic food! The Sunday roast beef and mash potatoes were amazing, the pub is lovely, staff were friendly and attentive! Cost me £50 for 4 main courses, 1 dessert, and 2 coffees! Absolute bargain!

We were visting Chirk for the first time and discovered this little gem. Not only was the food well priced, it was excellent. We thoroughly recommend visiting and cannot wait to return and re experience the friendly atmosphere and home cooked food.

This is a great pub, lively and friendly atmosphere, excellent food, a warm welcome on arrival, and superb live music. Cannot recommend Stanton House enough!

After 10 mins of arriving it was like we were in our local back home, the staff, locals and owners were so welcoming. We twice had food, the veggie options were numerous, the food was perfectly cooked by Chell and nothing was too much trouble. The rest of the team were brilliant, a shout out to Cerys who really looked after us the first night. Our dogs were welcomed even more than us, free treats from Mark and Chell, and so much fuss from the locals. We loved Chirk and we will be back, a huge factor in this, is our experience in the Stanton!

Fantastic home cooked food, friendly and helpful staff, we were even able to take some bacon back to our camper after forgetting to pack some!! We felt we landed on our feet finding this pub and will definitely return!

After reading previous reviews and visiting in 2021, sorry to type this. Pleasantly surprised that they had invested heavily in what looked like a separate restaurant at the rear of a good local pub. Asked if we could eat, " yes 18.00 to 20.30 hrs. No probs, took my name whilst I relaxed in the bar. No more communication. Asked if we could eat in the extension, " yes, we'll be right with you." Nobody came. The order of gammon was taken. And twice we corrected the order to say pineapple, not egg, still served wrong. Served with egg. Allergy with eggs so food returned, and within 30 seconds it came back out with pineapple. Staff, no allergy awareness !!! Should have been freshly cooked, not scraped off and replaced with pineapple. Nobody checked on us. Food is very poor quality and wasn't eaten. Clearly, buying budget products and knocking it out as quality. Was expecting reasonable quality food with reasonable service and nothing more. Got neither. Message to the owner ! Improve or lose your investment. Staff need to be dedicated and trained. Dont play at it. Not a good experience from what should be a fantastic business opportunity. 🤷‍♂️ Visited the bar to discuss and pay something, waitress / bar staff new, and didn't take payment. Avoid unless bar snack !!!

Mum and I went for lunch to Stanton House last Sunday and wow! We were so impressed. The food was amazing. Perfect portion size, well cooked, very tasty, great service and great value for money. We shall be back with more family. Thank you. Booking recommended.

Visited last Saturday with my sister and son. My son was on a flying visit home from Manchester and we were looking for somewhere local for lunch. I admit, the Stanton is only a couple of miles away from where I live but I've never visited. I had heard good things about the food though and also that it's had a recent refurb. We all had the Stanton burger and 2 of us had the home made biscoff cheesecake for pudding. I was really impressed. The owner kept us well informed on timings but we really didn't wait long, and we were too busy catching up. We sat outside as it was such a lovely day but the inside is spacious (deceptive from the outside) and was fresh and airy. We also loved the fact that we could buy cans of Pepsi at only £1.50 rather than the nasty syrup stuff from the gun you normally get in pubs and costs an arm and a leg. We would definitely go back. Great value for money and the food was great with friendly staff.

Me and my Partner went last Sunday for Sunday lunch and WOW !!, It was absolutely lovely well cooked just like having it at home & The puddings where to die for we had a lovely time , The staff are very friendly and helpful , 10 out 10 we are going again this Sunday

Refurbished sympathetically with the history of the pub maintained. We did not eat but the menu looks good value for money and cocktails at £10 for two whats not to like

The landlord and landlady were friendly and welcoming and they went above and beyond normal to make us feel welcome. The food was excellent, well cooked and hearty for a very reasonable price. The beer is well kept again at a reasonable price. They have recently been fully refurbished and now have a lovely dining area and beer gardens both front and back of the pub.

Chelly and Mark hosted our wedding today and they went above and beyond with the decoration of the room the cake. Chelly went above and beyond to make our day special and the picture of my mum she made for me was out of this world. I highly recommend the stanton for a wedding birthday christening etc or even if its just to pop in for a pint and spot of lunch.

Asa family staying at the Lady Margaret Caravan Park, we visited The Stanton for a drink(s) daily during the bank holiday. The hospitality and service from staff and owners Mark and Chelly was above and beyond. We were very much looked after on every visit, felt so welcoming from them. We had a beautiful sunday dinner and homeade apple pie and fudge cake…delicious! We also had a bar meal on our last night…curry, Stanton burger, cottage pie and all homeade and again delicious! We can’t thank you enough for your kindness and made us feel so welcome, you made our hols! Mark, so kind took some of our party home to the Caravan site, again so kind. This is a great, cosy local pub with great wine, beers and food…people of Chirk… your are so lucky! We shall see you real soon and thank you again!

After a long and wet morning on the canal we popped by for some lunch. Dog friendly, children friendly, great staff and brilliant food! We felt very looked after and left with full tummies. Couldn’t believe the value for money and great service-thanks very much!

Popped here on the off chance they were still serving food. I'm so glad they were as it was great. Landlady served us who was also the cook. Free kids meals ( I had my 2 kids with us). Very friendly staff.very accomodating.Big portions.really nice to have music on aswell.we are here on holiday but have family in Shrewsbury so we will probably be back. Best place we have eaten in whilst in Chirk. I am a former bar and restaurant manager and I tend to look for faults in places,none here.

I just popped in for a pint at the end of a long walk - good beer and a lovely space in the front garden. Lots of locals were turning up to meet their mates.

Absolutely lovely dog friendly pub. Popped in for a couple of drinks with my partner and 7 month old puppy. Chelly landlady and regulars made us feel welcome from the minute we walked in. Missed the last train home Chelly rang repeated taxi companies until one was available. Highly recommend this pub. Will be back.

A welcomingly warm place for a pint on a cold winter's day. Mid week and out of season, as would be expected, it was very quiet with no lunchtime food, but plenty of friendly locals to chat with 🙂

Came here on a visit to Chirk and found this place. It had a good choice of beers and was clean. It was fairly quiet, and we found a seat not really noticing it was fairly dark there to find one of the bar staff come and turn the lights on, saying the pub was trying to save money which is a real shame. Later, we had live music, and the guy had a decent voice. Would definitely recommend this place, and I hope they make it through difficult times. The pub is a great place and hate seeing so many struggle

A large group (coach party) of us (Halton Ramblers) visited this pub after our various hikes. We were offered a warm welcome and some good beer. I had a few pints of the Guinness. Great pint.
