Teddington Tandoori in Richmond upon Thames

Been using TT for 30+ years. Food is always great and service/delivery the same. Would highly recommend.

We were awaiting a lock out. So ordered a takeaway. And the Teddington Tandoori went above and beyond and met us to deliver our meal. And a very lovely meal it was. Hot and very tasty. Definitely recommend

Great bunch of chefs here. The smell of fresh preparation in the early evening is somewhat divine. Very friendly, easy to talk to and as people say below, never a feeling of trouble. Makes you want to keep things local and really not easy to maintain that these days. Biriyanis are particularly decent but I’ve never ordered a dish I don’t like. Proper good lads they are 👌

We’ve been using this takeaway since 2001 and it’s always been superb! The chicken tikka masala is sooo tasty, the Bombay aloo is delightful and the onion bhajees are full of flavour. Not forgetting the prawn purée which is stunning! This is the best takeaway ever and very reasonably priced! Here’s to the next 23 years!

Prawn patia was great, but when you receive 2 tiny samosas for £2.75 you can’t help feeling that’s poor value. No sauces either. The rest was ok.

Best Indian takeaway in the area. Highly recommended. Staff have always been helpful and friendly, even when I wanted a dish that was not on the menu. Nothing was too much trouble.

Guys you do the best food...sometimes, but its not consistant...as soon as a woman answers the phone and shes not really listening I know the regular staff are not around..last meal I had a couple weeks ago was not up to par again..the lential daal was watery and tasteless and the curry could have been anything ..just bits of chicken with a random sauce on it, yet at other times you turn out food that has taste and thought with it. If you need time off, as we all do, leave people in charge who care please

We had an outstanding curry again from Teddington Tandoori. The flavours were incredibly interesting. We particularly enjoyed Shahzani Murgh, Balti Tikka Masala Manchuri, and Lamb Bhuna (our daughter especially enjoyed this one!). Onion Bhajis, Peshwari Nan, and coconut rice were great too. Highly recommend this place.

Huge fans! It’s our go-to take away! I wish they would follow the “extra spicy” requests but probably thinking it’s extra hot for English palette 😂 The mixed starter is our fav.

Food very delicious as usual but unfortunately came quite late. the restaurant did call to apologise and informed me however I do feel like I should’ve been offered a slight discount as the food was significantly late.

Don’t waste your time with these time wasters they tell you 45 minutes then 1hr and 20 minutes past they tell you the driver is on the way then next minute there waiting on a driver to turn up plus’s they will deliver you raw chicken I hope the owner sees this you have now LOST a regular customer ….

Delicious, hot and so reasonably priced! the portions are massive, especially for how well priced they are, and the flavours are incredible as well. I ordered a meal for one that came with a ton of food (for under £20) and the onion bhajis were some of the best I’ve ever had— they are so crispy and tasty, honestly the taste I dream of when I find myself craving them lol. The staff are lovely too, the delivery driver was a very sweet guy who, when I decided to meet him outside due to how confusing my flat is to find, made an effort to ask where our building was so he could be faster in the future (and he had good banter too). Overall, I wish I could give this more than five stars and I will be thinking of this meal for the rest of my life. Thanks! 🫡

Food took an hour and a half to get an iPhone three times the food was awful tikka madras was not Teco madras and then Sec was very sweet not sure what they sent I found and complained we would never buy again

The app wasn't clear about delivery/collection, I had to go and get it myself. I am handicapped, with mobility problems, collection was not easy for me.

I know its busy tonight, but late is still late. It's now an hour and a half since it was ordered and still no sign - the restaurant is about 600 yards away. I'd prefer a more accurate delivery time than get one which was clearly never going to be attained. This has so many knock on effects, and actually spoils the meal itself, as well as affecting the rest of our evening. Then it got worse, very much worse. I spoke to the shop and they admitted that it had been noted as out for delivery when it hadn't left the kitchen. This app even said it was delivered, but it STILL hadn't even left their restaurant. People are lying to us. LYING. This isn't simply poor level of service, it is disgraceful, deceitful, and shameful. Obviously zero stars for the delivery, zero for the service, and zero for the food - because at this moment over an hour and a half after ordering, and thirty minutes after the worst estimate, still no food.

Found by accident when passing as sat in traffic and the aroma got me Bought one of the best Indian meals I have ever had clean fresh and full of spices I live 100 miles away but will be making the odd detour to this little gem

We’ve walked past this place many times and always commented on how delicious the food smells as we walk past. We finally ordered food from here as a change to our usual local place. I have to say, it didn’t disappoint. The food was absolutely delicious and really fresh. Definitely my new favourite local Tandoori. We’ll be back. Thank you.

Really tasty curries. We have been eating from here since Oct 2020. Friendly delivery and food never disappoints!! I wish you had a points system or a discount system for loyal customers & a reduced waiting time as one hour is a hefty wait ! Other than that, brilliant :)

The drink I ordered was wrong and I waited over an hour for the food. My pork chops were burnt and the onion Barjees were also burnt and really greesy. The chicken wings were the only thing which was okay

Always late. Was told 7:15. Arrived 10 mins late (because they are always late) and was told to come back in 10 mins. It was actually ready when we came back 15 mins later (becasue they are always late) but I suspect only because I made a fuss. We like the food but I can't take the hassle any more. Think we will go elsewhere next time. Deliveries are even later - easily 30 mins or more.

Ok food with some of the sides that tasted funnily sweet even though when i requested them to be spicy, definitely one of those not very "indian" takeaway

Great food when you get it!!!! Order placed, money taken, delivery time given for 7.15. As of 8.30 no food, both telephone lines are not being picked up so no way to chase orders!! Not the first time this has happened so more chance of winning the lottery than getting a correct order and on time. Not a penny more will go to this poorly managed excuse for a takeaway. Hampton Wick Tandoori here we come. Had to give a star to allow post but not worth one star>

Two hour and 15 minute wait for food. Food was cold and congealed on delivery. Inedible. I phoned the restaurant for them to be rude and not helpful. Similar reviews to mine below: Read them, heed our warning, go elsewhere for your curry, save yourself!

Waited over 2 hours for delivery, had to call restaurant twice, was Friday night and delivery driver did apologise however. Just be aware of long delivery times. Food was great otherwise and arrived piping hot. Would've been 5 stars without delivery delay.

2 hour wait for food. No updates This is the second time I’ve ordered from here and the same service both times. Such a shame, and no effort to reimburse or rectify. Not even a side salad thrown in. Very disappointing. This will be my last order with them.

Ordered a takeaway at 630pm no takeaway by 9pm and phone constantly engaged. Deliveroo time no updated so no idea when I might get some food. Avoid like I will be doing in the future.

The yogurt in the Raita was off and very large cucumber pieces thrown in. Also, the mushrooms were not cooked and just put in there from the can. Never order again from this plce

The portion sizes are so bad. Lovely food but I don’t think mine was worth 21.70. For a mix tandoori I only got one kebab, one prawn, one chicken and a few chicken bits perhaps only 4. I expected a bigger portion size and more meat. The rice was a small portion too. Although saying that, everything tasted lovely.

Didn’t even arrive terrible customer service

We have ordered from this restaurant many times. The food is always lovely. The delivery time, however, is not. They are frequently late - not just a few minutes...sometimes up to an hour or more. Their excuse is that they put telephone orders above online orders, and on top of that, tonight - they tell me they ran out of ingredients and had to start from scratch again. Hmmmmm....not sure I believe that.... They offered me 'free poppadoms' as a sweetener....hmmmm ...not sure about that either.... Basically, nice food if you're prepared to go into starvation mode before you receive it. This is the last time I'm ordering from them, as although their food is good, I really can't deal with the shoddy delivery service. Free poppadoms? PAH!

Worst restaurant. Never try for take away delivery. Restaurant driver gives to someone else my order.

Food was really good, definitely worth the wait!

Chose this restaurant as I'd seen positive reviews on a local facebook group about their hygiene and safety during lockdown as well as some enthusiastic reviews of the food. 100% recommend. The food was fantastic, full of flavour and arrived hot and fresh. (Not overheated to appear hot at delivery like some places) The vegetable dishes had as much care taken over them as the meat dishes and the portions were generous. Very reasonably priced! The deliveroo estimate of the delivery time was accurate and whilst longer then most was definitely worth the wait and both the staff and delivery driver were very friendly despite being clearly busy. Definitely order again thanks guys!

Sad to see they've now tagged on a delivery fee as well as having already put their prices up. Getting too expensive to order for one now so I won't be using them again unfortunately.

Food overall cold. Naan bread stale. Quality of ingredients poor.

Best indian takeaway ive been to in south west london. Amazing quality, quantity, customer service and price. Have tried 20 or so in this area and this comes up tops.

Lovely Madras curry more than enough for me. I loved it and as a bonus the price was right not expensive

Disappointing at best. The food was tasteless and drenched in oil. Garlic bread tasted of nothing but stale bread. My £9 curry had less taste than a Tesco value microwave meal. Saag paneer tasted of raw spinach and nothing else.

Food was tasty but delivery was ridiculously slow. Was told it would arrive at 8:40: it arrived at 10 after I chased them. They said they’d include some free popadoms, but didn’t. I get that restaurants get busy but don’t claim 45 mins when you mean 2 hours. Won’t order delivery again.

We have used this takeaway for years. The past orders have been really disappointing. To wait 2 hours for a takeaway not great. Accepting the 1.5 hours delivery time then to wait for further 30 mins after chasing and told 5-10 mins then ended up being 30. Now considering looking for other takeaways on area.

We've lived in Teddington since 1986 and Teddington Tandoori has been a stalwart provider through thick and thin over the whole of that time. Always friendly service. We have flirted with others - High St/Hampton Wick, but in terms of biryani per buck, TT delivers on both quality and value for money. And easily enough for two nights meals for two - that's only £6 each per meal! Thanks TT!
