Not much to say really. It's amazing. Family run, they know what works and have kept it that way. Been going there since I was 15. Now 40, ish. I have taken many friends and family there, all have had a great experience. Best chicken tikka masala ever! I still want my lolly pop.....haha

Good food, good service and a very good price.

Went for the first time this weekend. The service was excellent, food to match and friendly service from everyone. It's not a glitzy restaurant, which is all the better for it, but has a relaxing ambience. We'll definitely be back to try out a few more dishes.

Good value, old school, no frills curry house. Tasty dishes, it pays to get familiar with the different dishes and order a selection of contrasting dishes. Absolutely lovely staff.

I am not happy at all they are so rude and impolite and also food quality it’s so poor and dirty restaurant.

Popped in for a takeaway this evening and we were greeted by such friendly and lovely people. They made us feel very welcome as we waited for our food. You could tell it was a family run business with lots of locals who adored them. We were shocked by the prices - such great value for money! The food itself was super tasty too. Definitely one of the best we’ve ever had. Thank you so much for a wonderful dinner!

I always go there on Fridays and the food there is excellent and at a affordable price. The food there is excellent and a nice cozy atmosphere there as well. I really recommend the chicken curry and the pilau rice

Not really on the riverside but not far and well worth a visit. Excellent dishes at decent prices & a comfortable homely atmosphere. Best meal since we were in India in March. We are on our boat & had a mooring close by & will stop again there on our way back down the river. Definitely one not to be missed

Best Indian around… Doesn’t get any better!

I've not been here in over 10 years and the value is unbelievable. Service is good and very tasty food. We were both very full and had 2 pints of lager and 2 curries and poppadoms. It's got an oldskool feel to it and we even got a lolly. All this for under £40 😋

Incredibly well priced, authentic, tasty Indian food. The owners are delightfully charming and the place is so rustic and quaint. I've been here numerous times now and never had a bad thing to say.

Really good food, couldn't stop eating it that we had to get boxes to take the rest home. Was busy, very cheap ,wasn't expecting what we paid, was thinking it would be more. The only down side was that we had to wait a while to order our food... But on the positive we will be coming back!

Superb, excellent value for money, the owner has an amazing memory, we hadn't been in there for a couple of years because of covid, and as soon as we walked in they recognised us and remembered what my favourite starter was.

I'm sorry for giving a low rating for this review, as I had rated the Riverside 5 stars previously. I ordered chicken butter curry and it was actually inedible. Really badly made and tasted as the primary school curry of 50 years ago. The curry tasted as they've just add loads of bad quality curry powder to water and flour to make it thick. Awful indeed! Normally, I'll give a restaurant another chance when I got mixed results but this time I can say I'll never go back again. I feel really sorry for the lovely owners but they need to find better cooks/chefs or they'll lose more customers like myself. It's cheap but doesn't have to be to attract and keep happy customers. I don't mind paying more for excellent food but am loathe eating bad food, even if it's free!

I have been coming here for nearly 30 years, don’t expect Michelin quality, but it is in my top 10% of Indian restaurants and is my go to establishment coupled with a couple of pints before in the Jolly Cooper round the corner, the Boss is always friendly as so are the staff.

I've been coming to this restaurant for years never been let down. Brilliant customer service and food is good and a decent price. Lamp Jalfrezi is my go to dish here

Not the best in town, but good prices and location

i have been eating here for 30 years now and the staff and food has never failed to please me and my family , always welcoming and quick good food supplied . it amazed me that when i was approached by the manager on a recent visit that to recall an incident when i last at the restaurant , there was an inspector present on the 04th september 2023 and he was revelling in occupying the managers time even though the restaurant was busy , the inspector finally left under his own accord and i proceeded to enjoy my meal as usual , i am horified to find out that since then the inspector has filed a unfair and inaccurate report of the situation . this is a fantastic run family business that needs support and the offer great food and great service .

An absolute gem! Riverside Indian cuisine may not have the bells and whistles of other similar restaurants, but what it has, is excellent food, excellent service, and best of all unbelievable prices. £20 a head here, buys a starter, a main with rice and a glass of wine. I can't recommend it enough. The quality of the food is top notch.

'Traditional' indian dishes at a welcoming old school style venue, excellent prices means great value for money.

Two "take-a-ways" and one "dine in" meal so far. Food excellent on all 3 occasions. When dining in staff are attentive. The decor is very traditional and plenty of big tables for large groups / family's. Nice tables you can sit on outside with a very reasonably priced pint whilst you await your meal. Exceptional value for money. Would love for the restaurant to do a Sunday buffet during the day (ie 1pm -3pm) so you could meet friends/family for "Sunday Lunch" ? All in all The Riverside Indian ticks all the boxes.

Went out to have dinner with family on a hot day, Place was very hot no air con waiter was sweating. Brought food over with their finger in the rice. Also fly was in food when challenged manger got very angry and tried to fight me also so swore when leaving. Would not recommend this place terrible customer services

I was never a curry lover until I got taken here by a friend. We’ve tried most things here and it’s spot on always fresh hot and enjoyable! Been coming here almost every week since being introduced. I’ve also tried a few other curry places but this one is definitely the best, reasonably priced and great hospitality!

Haven't visited the Riverside for a few years due to moving away from the area, so on a recent visit was delighted to find that it is still as wonderful as ever. Exceptional customer service, fantastic food and amazing value for money. I can't recommend the Riverside Indian restaurant highly enough.

I’ll try to be nice about this, as it’s a family run business and they were perfectly friendly and nice to me. The main courses cost 6.25 pounds. You get what you pay for. The lamb madras was tasteless, just spicy but no taste. The “special fried rice” was also completely tasteless, but what do you expect for 2 quid? The lamb itself was small chunks of tasteless meat. Everyone else seemed happy, but I’m a massive curry fan and I’m sorry to say this was the worst curry I’ve had in the UK. I appreciate that it’s cheap, but come on - raise your game with the quality of food instead of serving up that - even if it means raising the prices by a couple of pounds, it would still be cheap. The woman on the table next to me told the lady owner “that was amazing.” I think the lady herself knew that it is not. Still, wish them all the best and hopefully this will be received as a constructive message rather than a hatchet job. Maybe I just ordered the wrong dish.

What did I just have? Very sweet family operated restaurant. They were all kind and friendly…but that wasn’t the Indian food I was expecting.

The value / quality ratio of this restaurant is absolutely unbeatable. It has been on business for over 30 years and is still delivering a great service. The tandoori mixed grill, the prawn puris, the naans, the vegetable dishes, the usual masala dishes are all spot on. I can’t recommend it enough.

We have been going to this family restaurant for over 20 years & the food is delicious. Never had any ‘funny tummies’! They are always accommodating. We drive 10 miles as we know we’ll get a decent meal & reasonably priced

My favourite curry house. They had been closed for a little while but back open now thankfully. Really friendly staff and a homely feel too. Always enjoy coming here. Tasty and affordable dishes and I even have the treat lollipop at the end. Highly recommended.

Delicious food with a very friendly service

After a few weeks of being closed the Riverside is back open 🎉. As a regular visitor this place is top notch. A great variety of dishes at very reasonable prices, so you can try a few different things alongside the old classics without spending a fortune. The chicken tikka masala and chicken korahi are both excellent and the saag paneer makes a great accompaniment. The staff are very friendly and professional too. So glad there has been no change since the pandemic closure and the other recent closure. As they say on the menu ‘in god we trust. Everyone else pays cash’. It makes me laugh, but cash no doubt is preferred although they take card too. Highly recommended and I don’t give high praise easily!

Dinner for two. Received a lovely welcome when we arrived at this family run business and service was prompt and faultlessly polite all night. The food was delicious. And, as many people have already mentioned, the prices are beyond reasonable for the quality of the meals. Three beers, poppadoms with dips, two chicken baltis, a portion of vegetable curry, two portions of pilau rice and two plain naans all came to only £36.55. Will definitely be back here soon!

This is our go to for a quiet night out, the family that run it are lovely, were thought they had closed permanently after covid rules laxed, and was upset at this, one day we see it open and so happy that they hadn't gone out of buiness... iv been visiting here for 18years and never had bad food, and the pricing is brillant, keep up the lovely food and see you again soon .

The Riverside has been around since I was a kid. Its a staple in hampton. I have been coming here either for take away or sit down for as long a I can remember. It's not a trendy expensive restaurant but more your tradition curry house. With a nice range of dishes and great prices. Run by a lovely family who cant seem to do enough for you. My family love coming here. Glad to see them open again after a temporary closing.

I visited to order a takeaway on Saturday night 20/08/22. At 9pm the place was 90% full. As I waited for my order (about 15 mins) I watched the interaction between the owners (who do the front of house) and the guests. It was very clear to me that the owners do a huge amount to ensure their guests have a great time both socially and with their food. The owners were incredibly welcoming and that was lovely to see. I think that explains why the restaurant was so busy. When I got home my food was lovely. It's like well made indian home cooking and they tailored the level of spices for me which made it just right. Yes you can get better quality elsewhere but with the discount for takeaway, my meal was under half the price of eating in more expensive indian restaurants, and given the cost of living increases this is very good value. It's great to see them back open after being closed for so long. So if you want good quality at superb prices then this is the place to go to.

Only giving 1 star cause cant give no star I attended with friends and children and was told to leave due to the children being children it is absolutely disgusting being treated like that it is horrendous how you can judge people by them having children 😡😡😡😡😡

Lovely cheap and cheerful local Indian, superlative value for money and their poppadoms are so very fresh. It's our local go-to-spot when watching the budget. It's wonderful that they are open again after C-19 and to see the family who runs it so caring and proud of their little restaurant. No wonder the locals keep coming back for more. I'm also recommending their takeaway services to my Airbnb guests when visiting Taggs Island.

Visited this place a few weeks ago. The food is pretty recent for the number of India restaurants available in that area. Loved the ambience and the service here.

Cheapest Indian I've ever been to, and the quality is great too. Fantastic family run restaurant where the greetings and genuinely warm and friendly. Dined in and they have wheelchair accessible facilities all being a little snug and the toilets are spotless. Although they don't deliver they do offer a 20% discount for collection. Would highly recommend this Indian restaurant.

My family have been coming here for years ! The food is great ( I don't do chilli 😋) and theirs always enough to take a doggy bag home !! The guys and girls that run it are friendly and very welcoming. They can't do enough for us and my girls now 36 and 38 still grab a lolly on the way out lol . We are so looking forward to going back for our first meal in almost 3 years tonight I always recommend it to everyone , yes it's cheap but the food is fab for my taste buds !! Roll on 7.30pm tonight!!!

Actually i worked there as 13 years back.boss of the restaurant treated me like his own son.His wife i called her elder sister is top women with a smiling face all the time. Food always cooked fresh no doubt and their profit margin very low. I still miss younger brother of MR. Cheema and his lovely friendly wife. Worked there 2 years and always felt like working in a home with my family. They called me Babu. I enjoyed a lot. 100% fresh and delicious food as always made. Cheap and good food worth a visit if in the area

This Is my 3rd visit in two months now. I absolutely love this restaurant, the food is very cheap and the quality is amazing. The family who run the restaurant are very welcoming and always willing to go the extra mile. Will definitely keep visiting.

Out of all the Indian restaurants available nearby, I would rate this the lowest. The place itself is rather dirty, the food is average at best. Prices are definitely lower, but it is reflected in the quality. The popularity of this place reflects the poor taste of the local demographic. Would never come again.

Great food, Excellent prices. A family run business and the food is fantastic. The service is excellent and the food is freshly cooked how you want it and the prices want you to go back again and again. A amazing hidden gem.

Service. Been going here with my family for years, love the atmosphere there, the service from the Staff or should i say family are always on point. Birthday's for the over 18's include a free flaming shot of Sambuka. The staff consists of a family of humble, friendly people who work hard to give customers the best possible service so everyone including themselves can have a good evening. Food. The food is always good for the price they charge. you can easily fill a group of 5 hungry adults for £60 (£12 per person) the menu has a wide selection of Indian cuisine and every item that i and my family have tried has always gone down well. The mint sauce served with the poppadoms is very unique and definitely worth trying. As of late my personal favourite dishes are the Chicken Tikka Masala, Keema Naan and the Onion Bhaji's. One thing i also highly recommend you try is the Irish Coffee, it seems strange to think an Indian restaurant would have a good Irish Coffee but it really stands out from all the competition. Value. Easily the best Indian cuisine in the area to have value like it has. all the food is inexpensive and is fresh and delicious. i went with a group of 5 and we were all satisfied with all the food and drink we got for £60 and none of us left hungry. Overall i recommend you try this place at least once. i have never had a bad experience there in all the years we have been going.
