Fantastic butchers and lovely fresh bread

Having read down the reviews I think the negative ones are extremely unnecessary.How is it possible to wear gloves in a butchers dept when handling sharp knives ? Also as the meat is cooked at a high temperature any ‘germs’ would be killed off anyway. Cakes are just delicious especially the Julia cakes ,mouldy really Mr J ? I believe these are made every week let me tell you a cake takes about two weeks to possibly go mouldy these are too good to be hanging around and going mouldy . If your grievances are genuine then don’t go behind a screen and complain go in and ask to see the manager or owner I’m sure your complaints will be delt with in a very professional manner I for one will always shop there the staff are happy and cheerful and always helpful the quality of the goods are high standard as they say if you haven’t got anything nice to say then don’t say it !!!!!

Great farm shop with large butchery and wine selection. Great coffee shop too, serving drinks, cakes, snacks and lunch.

Great little butchery store with a brilliant little selection of champagne and wine! Very impressed they even had grower champagne as well.

Absolute Superior topside beef, a little on the expensive side but well worth the money. When the rotation of beef comes to our roast dinner we wouldn’t go anywhere else. Would give 10* if I could 👍

I have been shopping at Teddington Stores for close to seven years. The butchers(especially Richard) are very helpful although the hygiene is questionable. No washing of bare hands between handling meats, no use of disposable gloves whatsoever. Last week the senior butcher went to the external fridge bare handed and brought in a joint and presented it without washing his hands or putting on gloves. The Saturday girls are exemplary, the older staff, one in particular, are abrupt, and can be extremely rude and has a propensity to handle the open display of sweet pastries with no regard to hygiene. This display, close to the toilets and front door, is not covered nor has a sneeze screen to it and is at an ideal height for children to handle(witnessed). I have taken to having a coffee and cake after shopping but, since finding a Victoria sponge for sale with mould on it, have refrained. I am sure the cake covers don't comply with EHO standards! Surely these cakes should be kept in a cool environment with a sneeze screen. I have recently discovered out of date produce for sale(coleslaw two days over). I called this to the attention of one of the staff and was greeted by "What do you want!" I mentioned that this was an EHO breach and needs to be removed. I was given a look of incredulity as if to say "So what". She reluctantly removed the item. It is a pity that such a wonderful shop is being let down by lax hygiene and staff/public interactions! Perhaps familiarity does breed contempt, but I feel that, due to my recent observations, I have no alternative but to look elsewhere for my shopping experience.

Hidden behind the petrol station, you do need to search this cafe/shop out, lots of parking, called in for late lunch, quite an extensive menu for a small cafe, we ate a fish plater and hot pork bap, very tasty, large portions and v reasonably priced. Many thanks, we really enjoyed our food and we will return.

I ordered two lattes for myself and a friend and we were both disappointed to see that they came out looking like and tasting like dishwater - very, very weak. I requested an extra shot and was told that ‘normally the lattes are made with two shots’ but she ‘wasn’t sure what her colleague had done’. On paying the bill I was charged for the extra espressos which meant that my two coffees totalled £13. I queried this and was told simply ‘yes, well espresso cost £3 each’! Extortionate price for two coffees and needless to say we will not be returning.

Found this farm shop, looked fabulous, website says fine food, local produce, artisan butcher, all appeared to be incredibly high quality on the face of it. Went in for some sausages and was chuffed to find fresh homemade free range pork sausages. Got home and to my horror found a laundry list of junk on the ingredients label, to include a variety of E numbers, monosodium glutamate, dextrose, maltodextrin, stabiliser... none of which I want to touch with a barge pole. Beyond disappointed.

Five stars for the butcher who was so, so helpful! Two stars for the stinking attitude of the lady’s who served us. Their faces resembled slapped buttocks. I have never been appalled by such poor customer service. Genuinely puts me off coming back despite the great selection of fruit and veg and fantastic meat selection.

Thanks to the kind woman who gave me bread for free, may God reward you with goodness. As a truck driver from a distant country and since I am far from home, it was very pleasant

I stopped here with a friend for a cup of tea after a visit to the Cheltenham area. We sat inside and had a cup of tea but I also decided to have two doughnuts. I then paid for it all by card and didn't really take any notice of the price but then later decided to look at the card receipt. The price for the tea was quite acceptable but the doughnuts were £3.25 each! "Holy Moly!" It was really too late to say anything and the lady who served us was quite friendly and pleasant but £3.25 for a donut was absolutely diabolical and daylight robbery! Just out of interest, I had a look at the Tesco website for doughnuts and I believe that you can get 5 donuts for £1.15. By all means make a profit but please don't "RIP" people off like this as it is just totally unreasonable. If I am down that way again, I will most certainly not be stopping at the Teddington Store's Cafe.

Not a large shop there's a butcher, and household items. Farm food items available look good.

I have to agree with other reviews quoting prices. Of course you pay more for organic & local but the prices here are ridiculous. What I want to review is the treatment & attitude of staff. Not one smile or hello. Walked straight past us. While looking at butchers counter one staff member walked past quite a small space with no excuse me. 2nd lady did stop & asked if we were OK & if she could get us anything. We walked out saying that staff thought very highly of themselves and nothing of customers. If this is buying local at 3x the price. being belittled & looked down upon we will go to m&s! Actually morrisons would be far better than this place!

We came to lunch at your excellent restaurant yesterday and were thrilled at the new aprons that the waitress was so proud of. I'm sorry I have forgotten her name but she was excellent. Our food was superb as well. I can highly recommend Cafe Verde, I have eaten here twice and both times the meals have been brilliant. Thank you VERY MUCH.

Good farm shop lovely produce! We called in at 3:45pm on the way to a campsite on a Sunday and they couldn’t have been more unhappy to see us. The staff kept making comments that they wanted to cry because more people kept coming in - despite the doors being open with signs still outside and their closing time being 4pm. We won’t be back.

Our choice of a simple cheese and tomato sandwich was literally amazing due to the freshly cut, deliciously soft, chunky and incredibly tasty artisan bread! Worth the long drive there and definitely heading back!

Great little store with lovely local products.

No welcome despite being the only customers. Wild prices for goods. Unhelpful (& slightly sneering) reply to a question I asked about their wine stock. Older lady serving not friendly at all. Overcharged on not one but TWO items, and when I pointed this out, a very mumbled insincere apology given. What a shame - my first and sadly LAST visit to this “farm” shop.

Found this little gem on our way home from holidays. The small cafe is wonderful, great sandwiches and cakes, scones with jam and clotted cream are lovely. The farm shop is excellent quality and reasonably priced. We will definitely be going again when we are passing that way

Great shop. Lovely food. Scotch eggs are great and have a variety of flavours, but our absolute favourite is the black pudding flavoured one 😋 good place for nice bread, cheeses, chutneys and meat. Sandwiches are nice too, properly filled, to the edge

Visited the cafe only for lunch with a friend. This is our "go-to" meeting place as the staff are always friendly and the food well-presented and tasty (whether just toast and jam in the morning, lunch or cake in the afternoon with our tea). The shop always stocks a large variety of fresh meat, veg and cheese and lovely flowers and is always inviting and tempting!

Lovely café & shop full of high quality local produce. Perfect place to stop just off the motorway, we had sandwiches and hot chocolates for lunch and it was lovely.

Brilliant Farm shop, with so many great produces and lovely owners. Will come back, wishing I had one like this locally to me.

Was staying locally so dropped in to pick up some food - pizza, peppers, milk, orange juice - and hopefully some unusual local deli stuff like smoked chicken that you can't get in M&S. To give you an example - one litre of fresh orange juice - £4.95. Normally I buy M&S fresh presssed orange juice at about £1.65. The M&S juice was much better at 1/3 the price. Lettuce was about 3x price I normally pay. Peppers about double. The smoked chicken was on use-by date so I didnt bother. We didn't go back. I do understand small independents have higher costs and need to be supported etc etc (which I agree with) but really this is ridiculous.

Great steak bought from here a few times now.

Teddington Stores is one of the best Farm ships in the area. A huge selection of fresh breads, meats and vegetables. There is a cafe as well which serves beautiful cakes and coffee.....

Mature beef chop and filet beef was delicious and good local quality meats. Lovely strawberry for the kids ;) expensive shopping but worth the treat...as a tourist if I knew about it before hand it would have be my market place for the 2 weeks. :)

Fantastic local store. We regularly use Teddington Stores for fresh, quality produce. The fresh fruit at the moment is brilliant along with the takeaway coffee. Not the cheapest, but well worth the little extra.

Good "high end" store - that's why I missed a * as prices are high. Produce is good though!

Came across this shop as a recommendation from the host at Beckford Inn. Quite surprised! Very friendly, helpful staff and the fresh food was extremely fresh. Bought produce for a picnic lunch and a supper BBQ. I could not fault any of it; delicious.

Really nice selection of local foods...butchers counter has some beautiful meats. Bit pricey for every day, for us, but makes it a nice treat for family celebrations.

This is a fabulous oasis. Well worth a stop. Free sample of a lovely Gin last week. Great cakes and coffee. And loads of fab Christmas gifts in store now.

If you want to buy a very good and tasty meat you found the right place! This is one of the best place I been. It have a very good selection of food (delicatessen) and a small coffee shop.

We visited this food store recently and I have to admit the meat was fantastic, best I've had in many years. However I've only given 3 stars because everything else in the shop seems daylight robbery to me. I've never paid £2.50 for 6 eggs in my life and I'm almost 70!!! The cauliflowers were a staggering £3.30 each, yes you read that right. We were told it was because of a bad crop this year. The very same day in Morrisons the caulis were 82p. Now if the taste should be any different then you tell me but I won't believe you.

for the past couple of years i have been shopping here on a regular basis as I purchase items to put into food hampers for my holiday cottages. It is convenient for me with good parking and some nice foodie items. I also like to support local businesses. I dont mind paying a bit over the odds as I am aware that a small company does not have the buying power of a supermarket chain. However I had to query the bill today when 7.15 was charged for a box of dorset muesli which has an average price of £3.25 at local shops. On querying it I was told it was the correct price. I feel this is excessive and despite the convenience I wont be shopping here again as I dont like being ripped off! there was also packaging on both areas of the tills where you would normally put your shopping which we had to clear away ourselves and a distinct lack of curtesy from staff.

Family gathering for coffee and lunch, all our needs were met - including high chair for 2 year old. Lovely coffee, and great home made food. Service was excellent. A bit of a squeeze for 5, plus child, but we and venue coped, thank you.

Our go to shop for excellent meat cuts, fantastic dairy, and friendly warm courteous staff. It’s always a treat to shop here.

We stumbled upon this quite by accident, by taking the wrong exit from the roundabout and needing a place to turn around! Couldn’t be happier with our mistake - we found a wonderful gem of a farm shop with a brilliant food selection and a butchers counter with excellent-quality meat. We weren’t intending to stop to eat but we tried a cake sample on the counter and knew immediately that we had to make time for a morning coffee. The cafe is a tiny space off the shop and perfect for a ten minute sit-down. For the size, the selection of sweet treats was astounding and the two we tried were utterly delicious. We’re already making plans to come back - on purpose this time.

We shop here regularly, the artisan breads are amazing, I really don't want to eat any other now..... The Butchery department is excellent, locally sourced meats and it tastes so much better..... You can tell its so fresh, prices can be on a par with the supermarkets or a little more expensive... But its worth it.... We order our free range Cockrel for Christmas and its second to none...there is a wide range of cooked meats, pies, sausages etc. The Staff are very friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble... The cafe is small but worth a visit, lovely coffee and freshly prepared snacks using the produce from the shop. Delicious and excellent value..... There is also a wide variety of wines, beers, ciders and spirits...... Gift ideas, fresh flowers and plants... For a small shop they certainly pack a great deal in..... It really is worth a visit.

We were travelling down the M5 and used a book (The Extra Mile) to locate somewhere nice to stop rather than the services on the motorway. Teddington stores did not disappoint. The cafe is small but on a nice day you can sit outside too if it is full. We ordered sandwiches and were surprised to be approached by the kitchen staff advising us that they were out of white bread when there was a huge pile of it for sale right behind her. The brown bread is quite light and the sandwiches were good with lovely tangy crisps as part of the garnish. The teapot was huge but only had one teabag in it and was not full up so the tea did not stay hot for long. The flapjack for afters was a lovely gooey affair - very nice. The shop is lovely too and contains some things that you might have thought were no longer obtainable as well as the usual farm shop offerings. We do this journey frequently and will stop here again. It would be nice to see the promise to consider marking out a disabled i.e.slightly larger parking space acted upon before then.

Stopped off for coffee and a cake. Very small cafe area but with only a few people in it was adequate. Coffee was OK though a little on the weak side. Tea was the same large pot, plenty of water in it but only one tea bag, In consequence the tea was extremely weak and tasteless. Cakes were delicious. Not a place I would stop at too often but it was acceptable. The attached shop was busy and sold good quality meat, vege, etc

Took the bike for a spin and at noon, still haven't had brekkies but just wanted a snack, so stopped in the Café next to the Service Station, for a Lavazza Capuccino and an excellent, gooey flapjack.Get friendly service from the young lady behind the counter.

As a disabled person, I have called here twice recently, 1st time was able to park close to the door, luckily i walk with a stick anyone in a wheelchair might struggle, as the ramped entrance is blocked by bollards, I'm guessing to stop a smash through the door?2nd visit I could not park anywhere near the entrance and my friend had to walk with me, signs on the wall would do it, as well as yellow markings for spaces, not very DDA friendly, tea, soup and rocky road was lovely, sort the parking for less able people.

Coffee shop well to small cramped in. Food well expensive. Looks so inviting from outside. Very disappointed

Well stocked with special goodies from meats to cheeses, cakes, conserves, wines etc for foodies. Treaty stuff. Pricey mind! Nice little cafe.

Today I was treated rudely when asking very simple questions. Very snobby place and would never return for a coffee or recommend !

I visited today for lunch and a look around the place with a colleague. I was shocked at the incredibly rude and generally unwelcoming and unpleasant nature of not one, but two staff members. I have never in my adult life been spoken to in this manner as a customer. Needless to say, I will never be returning and will ensure that none of my friends, family and colleagues do either.

The only thing I can add to all the 5 star reviews? The staff .... they are the best!!! Always cheerful, helpful and make you feel like the most important customer of the day (come to think of it, I probably was haha). Love this place.

Good farm shop to visit, highly recommend the scotch eggs.

This is a little cafe attached to a deli in what I believe was once a Little Chef. Delightful cakes and sandwiches and not fast food as the sandwiches are made to order. The deli has some great items and there is also a local butcher again worth a visit.

Great store, lots of unusual items, foods and sauces, butchers section, breads, cooked and precooked meals, a broad range of wines and spirits, a range of beauty products. And a small café.

Love this place. Small but great cafe with lovely artwork all to buy. We had fish platter to share delicious loads of smoked salmon.

Great little gem of a store with amazing range of products. We often pop in on the way home for work for extra special produce. Love the fresh bread and local bacon. Always beautifully presented and stock always fresh. Staff are really helpful and knowledgeable about the products. Love that they stock locally produced items.

Nice little place, but a bit disorganised especially as I saw more staff than customers and they still got my order wrong. Admittedly I didn't say as we were tight for time and I didnt want to wait. What was served was very tasty anyway. Would have bought a pie to takeaway, but labelling was poor so not sure what was what. Little more organisation needed Ladies. Didn't feel the love when trying to get an order made either.

WOW hidden secret lots of really nice treats to try out from breads to crackers, meats cheese, yogurts biscuits, crisps wonderful selection of wines, gins tonics if you can think of it they probably stock it plus a little cafe as you walk in not tried this yet ..

Special deli style store selling good quality upmarket goods. The store has a lovely feel about it. They offer fresh bread and cakes, fresh meat, a great wine and gin selection. Great for special occasions and gifts. There is also a small coffee shop serving light lunches. Well worth a visit.

Have visited before but not for some time. There appears to have been some improvements made to the shop area with a decent fresh meat counter. We bought a selection of items as we normally do. Haven't used the café as yet but hope to soon. A great shop for those special treats that you need in life. We will be back.

We called into Teddington store whilst on our way to Gloucester...really just for a coffee and something to eat. Staff were very welcoming..they made us fresh sandwiches,which were delicious and a good cup of coffee. Then we looked around the very impressive store...good local fresh produce, local meat,cheese and alcohol. We were made most welcome to browse and we are definitely going back to buy produce. m

A gem for people who love good quality fresh food. Great wines and beers. Wide selection of local foods. Calling in is a.must. Great cup of coffee too!
