We joked on entry that we hoped it would be better than the fish and chips from over the way we had on a previous theatre visit. Sadly this wasn’t the pre-theatre supper we were hoping for! First soft drink ordered was not available. Then a salad ordered was not available either. So overall we are not in a hurry to return…. we’ll go back to fish and chips across from the theatre!

We decided to book to eat here before seeing 10CC last night. We arrived on time at 6.30 and the restaurant only had a few people in it. The menu is limited to pizza and a choice of either lasagne or Caesar salad. We both ordered the salad as the show was starting at 7.30. The waitress asked if we wanted chicken with it which we both did. We also had a bottle of J2O and a 250ml glass of red wine. The wine was served in a whisky glass for some reason. When the salad arrived the waitress actually apologised for the presentation on the plates. Both salads consisted of 3 large lettuce leaves, 5 small slices of dried up chicken, a few croutons and a splash of Caesar sauce. When the waitress asked us if it was ok I told her how poor it was. To her credit she agreed and got the manager. The manager also agreed and told us that they were having issues with the Caesar salad at the moment. How you can you have issues with making a salad.? You don’t even need to cook it. In defence of the manager she didn’t charge us for he food and was clearly harrased by the issues they have here. The table next to us also complained about the food and I believe there may have been others. We won’t make the mistake of eating here again before a show.

Had a drink in the Teatro bar at the Princess Theatre whilst waiting for show to start. £22+ for two large glasses of what was meant to be a dry white wine. Most awful glass of wine I've ever had. £22!!!! I asked the barman what it was meant to be and he said 'probably' a Pinot Grigio. To add insult to injury it was served in plastic wine 'glasses'. Not enough seats in the bar area - what there was was taken up by people mostly making a cup of coffee last until show began.

We had two mains and two puddings coming to just under £40. The most perfect view of the harbour, you couldn't really ask for more. Food and service excellent. Would definitely come again when watching a show!

Sit here and enjoy the view...nice coffee with friendly people serving you...cakes very expensive and not much choice. Don't go when there's a matinee on as it gets crowded!

We are an older couple who live locally and had often called in here for a coffee. Last week (apparently) policy had changed, and despite the cafe being open to the public promenade, they now no longer serve you unless you are a theatre goer! Wonder what Torbay Council think of this new regulation? If this is not correct, then please train your staff properly. May save them from standing around doing nothing as we often observe!

Staff were friendly and helpful but the menu for lunch was very limited unless you want pizza. I was surprised that there was no fish or seafood on the menu as Torquay is by the sea, also there were no local beers. The toilets are locked and unless you have a radar key you cannot access the disabled toilet. Overall it was ok, but I wouldn't rush back there for food.

We were looking for a place to get a drink and came across this place. The staff were all so friendly, greeted with smiles and welcomes. We ordered a pumpkin spice latte and a toasted marshmallow hot chocolate and they were both amazing. Such a relaxing and warm place. Would definitely recommend.

The overall experience was pleasant. We had pre theatre dining for the show Oliver,However I had been told that they didn’t have 3 three main menu items advertised but also the Young man on table service was a bit slow but also didn’t seem like he wanted to talk to us and did come off a bit rude. Apart from these was a fantastic night and amazing venue!
