Fabulous service. Quick and still warm!

Ordered an hour ago and it’s still saying “ thanks for your order “ no “ preping “ or anything. No emails texts etc. Can’t call papa johns because it won’t go through.

Did not arrive - waited for an hour

Ordered on Just Eat, waited half an hour then had a text to say the restaurant cancelled my order due to no drivers, yet they continued to let people order on the app.. what a waste of time. Not ordering from here again

Very nice guy who usually delivers. Very polite and respectful.

Awful terrible service Food never arrived, marked as delivered, Tried to phone to ask what had happened, answered then hung up immediately deliberately avoiding me. After about half an hour they finally answered and said it's not their problem! Surprised they are still in business I will never order from them again

you pay £25 for a pizza to be delivered and sometimes they can’t be bothered to drive so they take your money and not say anything not even a call not a instant refund they, make it the most difficult thing ever to get your money back this has happened 3 times now. sometimes the pizza is absolutely burnt like hell and they gave wrong orders a lot

We were at a party and needed to leave at 3.30 the kids had to scoff their food. The driver was nice and friendly though.

Ordered a pizza a few weeks ago and it was missing toppings. Complained and did receive a code for a free pizza as an apology, but upon ordering using it today my order was cancelled by them (due to them not having the base). No apology and no call, just an email after I had driven there. And now the free pizza code is no longer valid!

Received call from driver asking us to go out and pick our order up. (We live on a pedestrianised street up steps but other businesses have no issues delivering). Order delivered 15 minutes later after having to argue with driver to deliver. Food was cold. Had I wanted to walk to the co-op to collect a pizza I would have bought one from there for a fiver instead! Chose to order food delivery as oddly we wanted food DELIVERED.

So I rang regarding the buy one get one free, as I have friends over. I was rather confused about the offer, as it stipulated a price of 10.99. So I thought I would get the second free, when I rang I was told it would cost another 10.99. I said to the staff member, who didn't give his name that it wasn't buy one get one free as advertised. I was informed that the price was normally double that, so I was getting one free. He said it wasn't difficult to understand, and made me feel uneducated and a fool. Surely if you advertise buy one get one free, and pay 10.99 then that's what you pay. Anyone with other thoughts? . .

Food was ok, arrived late and luke warm after chasing the delivery having had no updates. Won't order from PJ again and disappointed because I imagined they would be better than others that have pizza as part of a wider menu.

best delivery so far the block was nice and helpful 10/10 would be a pleasure to have him delivering again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Ive never had anything delivered and as a local always just collect as I pass through. Apart from one occasion where a couple of dips were missing [I called and they said theyd give me free ones next time] Ive never had an issue with the quality of the food. No idea what the delivery service is like.

order delivered nearly 30 mins late, barely warm when it arrived and the size was literally tiny, said it served 2-3 people. My young children were still hungry, and they don't have massive appetites! won't be ordering from here again!

Pizza disappointing and also didn’t take onions off like asked. Tater tots were undercooked and bland. Cookie dough was solid and everything was flavourless

Order food at 6.45 , was meant to arrive at 7.20 /7.30 , didn’t arrive till 8 ,and when arrived the food was cold pizza was nice as always but be even better hot or even warm but cold was dissatisfied and had to heat it up in the oven when I called restraint they told me the driver was only just arriving back so was guessing my food was left on the side didn’t even come in a warm bag just pizza boxes in a car .

I gave this restaurant a second try after messing my order up the first time. What a farce the second attempt was. Safe to say I won’t be returning

I put on the delivery notes which hotel I am staying at but the driver went to the wrong hotel. How can you deliver if you can't read?

Worst pizza's ever purchased. Purchased 2 large pizza's. They were both dry and tasteless with 2 inch's of dry crust. Very disappointed. This store is in walking distance of my home and we've always enjoyed delicious food from them. No Idea what's changed but we certainly won't be returning any time soon. .

Ordered a water and ended up with Robinson squash, ordered ice cream and was told upon delivery they don’t have it. To create a better customer service it would be better to contact the customer and advise of this to see if they would prefer something different.

Ordered takeaway from here via Just Eat. Phoned because it was late then had to phone again as marked delivered but this was not delivered to me. They said the lady who answered the door said she didn't order it. Seems they gave it to her anyway though. Nobody called me. They'd have had my number from the rwo separate times I had called about my ordered. I was not offered a refund. Terrible service.

where is or food? should've been here by 8pm . Half hour later

First my order was late but the delivery person was carrying the whole order in one hand that's 5 boxes 2 being large pizzas clenching it by the corner crushing the bottom box and squishing/squashing the pizza because he had his phone in the other hand talking in a language I don't understand and very rudely just passed me my order and walked off while still talking on phone!!! Then I checked my order and it is cold! its basically room temperature I'm not happy I'm very disappointed

The pepperoni pizza and the potato tots were lovely, but the other pizza had a small inedible hard black stone resembling thing on one of the slices which understandably put us off the rest of the pizza. An unusable disappointment with a takeaway that we usually thoroughly enjoy!

Absolutely horrendous ! Never order from here with lame excuses only having one driver being only 7 mins around the corner ! Then telling the app it’s been delivered half hour ago when in reality it’s not even been delivered

We have had awful experiences with Papa Johns in Paignton on a few occasions (We typically enjoy the food so hoped they would be good). We waited for just under two hours after ordering, checking the online tracking system which said our food had been “checking and cutting” for an hour so we phoned the store directly and were told they are just waiting for a driver. Another hour passes and still nothing so we phoned again asking to cancel our order and were told we had to do it online so we looked online and it said to phone the store directly. We phoned again explaining what their own Terms and Conditions had stated and they said they can’t do refunds because they don’t have the technology in the Paignton store. They told us to fill out the query form to get a refund so we are now just waiting on this. Wouldn’t recommend attempting to order from Paignton Papa Johns, I’m sure there would be much better service elsewhere.

I'm still waiting for our order we ordered it 18.00 promised 18.45.

Leaving a 1* as I highly suspect the pizza last night is the cause of my wifes food poisoning today. We can't prove it but I highly doubt it was her homemade sandwich she had for lunch!

Our food took over 2 hours arrive. We ordered vegan pizza because my wife is lactose intolerant. After waiting all that time we were delivered a cows cheese pizza which she couldn’t eat. Called the restaurant and they told us there was nothing they could do apart from offer a discount if we order from there again tomorrow. I don’t think I’ll do that.

Ten minutes late, had to call them to find out where our order was because it said on the app that it had been delivered. They said that it was just coming out of the oven and would be delivered shortly. The order was due between 20.45 and 21.05 …. It’s 21.50 and we’re still waiting!

Food was over an hour after delivery time - which was two hours from ordering with ASAP delivery. One pizza missing. Gave up waiting for it - kids went to bed and said weren’t hungry. Pizza we did get for adults was cold. Guy on phone didn’t really seem to care - just miserable experience. Food we got was very mid.

1 hour and 30 minutes late I had to drive to the restaurant and collect the food myself. What is the point of the app .

Small sized pizza for £23 …. And took a long time to arrive (we are a little further out) - around +15/20 over allotted time. Thin crust was flabby not crisp - so not sure if this is how PJ do thin crust? But ok pizza.

I'm sorry to put this, I love the food but I've ordered for the 3rd time and there are no dips again? genuinely gutted. I really looked forward to the special garlic dip, I'd even say its half the reason I ordered.

Called after the app said food had been delivered, to be told it was still in the restaurant after a further half an hour called again to be told food had gone out and wasn’t there. So the would remake order.

£20 for a dry biscuit with barely any cheese and no toppings around the edge.

Regular user, food is always good, only ever had one issue with delivery but was resolved eventually hence 4 stars. I enjoy Pappa John's, they need more staff in the shop but the people that work there are all really nice. Will continue to use! Thanks guys

I wish I'd read the reviews first! Sadly, I can see this site closing within a short period of time based on truly terrible service. Ordered a delivery at 19.09pm, by 20.39pm with no food or updates I called the restaurant. I was informed the delivery driver had walked out mid shift.. They were also too busy to call up all the impacted customers. It is abundantly clear the site is being under staffed and the management/owners are running the place in to the ground. I asked if my order would be refunded, I was told I had to do it online, in fairness to the lady I spoke to she is clearly being overworked and has no control of these things. I'll be contacting my bank to do a charge back if the manager of the site doesn't step up tomorrow and contact me and all the other impacted customers. This site has gone downhill, like the rest of Papa Johns, half the menu is missing, when deliveries do happen they take hours and the toppings on pizzas are tiny now.

Took two hours to arrive when it was just a few sides, no update until I complained on the app, no answer when I tried to call the store. Arrived cold

The food was left on the floor outside my neighbours house in the wind and rain. Papa John's have delivered successfully to our house many times and yet this driver couldn't find it. After I explained to him on the phone where I was and even sent the GPS location he made no attempt to get the food to me and left the food on the floor outside another property. I could him swearing about how dark it was on the phone. The food was delivered cold by my neighbour who found it by accident.

I have previously used this store and they have been excellent. I did not receive my order this time on. 9/3/24 mother's day special . The store said the driver returned as unsuccessful. Noone came to my home or attempted delivery. I received no phone call about an issue. This is appalling customer service. I won't use them again

Best pizza ever in my opinion, very welcoming staff, and always try to help. If you ain't ever tried Papa John's you definitely should.

Extremely disappointing and not even worth the price of the petrol to collect. Ordered half and half , clearly Pappa Johns staff don't know what a half is. Ended up with two slices of WORKS meager toppings no Pepperoni, no Italian style sausage, no ham and hardly any cheese, rest of pizza was supposed to be MEATS , but it was like playing spot the meat. A 99p frozen pizza from Iceland would have been more appetizing. Never again will I order from Pappa Johns. Order placed 17.02.24 lunchtime.

When you ask for half and half, this is not what you expect. Will be checking the pizzas now before leaving the store. Why is it that one employee who makes you question going back to Dominos.

First of all we ordered hours in advance for it to be delivered at 9pm.We received it 35 minutes late! We ordered an American hot and a cheese and tomato pizza.The American hot hardly had any toppings might as well have been a cheese pizza.They were both dry as a bone and freezing cold.They weren't even cut properly! The garlic dough balls were rock hard and very dry with no garlic on them whatsoever.it was literally just bread! The garlic sauce was disgusting.It tasted like 99p margarine which had been liquified and I was nearly sick.The sauce used to be lovely I don't know why it has been changed.The cinnipie sticks again were rock hard,dry and not cut properly.If I knew I would have received such poor quality food,I would have gone to chic o land down the road.They have much nicer pizzas and for a lot cheaper as well! I used to love papa John's but it has seriously gone done hill and I won't be returning

The order was incorrect, we ordered some chicken poppers and garlic and herb sauce and they weren’t with the order.

Fast delivery and good tasting food

So having ordered Papa John's once before and it went well I thought why not have it tonight. Made the order at 7:44 for delivery at 8:30 gets to 9:15 and I try calling the branch 15 mins on the phone with it ringing and i gave up. Glad I payed via PayPal received refund within minutes.

My pizza was absolutely no good, raw dough, thick base when thin was requested & absolutely no care was taken, it’s like they just don’t care, it’s so disappointing when you spend over £30 on what’s essentially pennies to make, at least do it properly, no response on the phone either, I would avoid this one like the plague unless you want mouths full of raw dough, 5 inch thick of toppings, cold, sloppy, soggy etc - if you continue to serve pizza like that you’ll be another ghost shop on Hyde road, please teach your staff properly.

We use Paignton Papa Johns regularly, and honestly, we do not get what all the people are moaning about! Our pizza always arrives promptly, its always piping hot, well topped and damn tasty....blows the competition away! Keep it up boys n girls!

Made an order online and the money was taken from my account, then got a call 5 minutes later saying there’s no drivers working and I’ve now got to wait 5 working days to get my £30 back. Very poor service - there should be a way to stop orders being placed if you can’t fulfil them. So instead I ordered DOMINOES and the pizza was as a lot better than the quality at Papa Johns anyway. Would not bother wasting your time here and save yourself from disappointment by ordering from dominoes or pizza hut :)

2 weeks ago I ordered a couple of pizzas from here and the lady on the phone said itl be delivered in an hour .. 2and a half hours later they turned up freezing cold ..I complained the next day and they credited me the 2 pizzas ...the following week I tried to re ordered the 2 pizzas but nobody would answer the phone ...this weekend I ordered the same 2 pizzas and asked the lady specifically if there was any issues with delivery and she said no allls fine and ill receive them in the next hour ...again waited for 1 and a half hours and when I rang to see where the pizzas were she said out for delivery ..an hour later they turned up absolutely stone cold and soggy again 😳 straight in the bin they went. I will never use papa John's again as they blatantly lie to u on the phone and send out pizzas that are cooked 2 hours before and send them out cold.

Good place to eat and enjoy the food, although it does not have public bathrooms. Even so, it is advisable to visit it who wants to eat a different pizza than usual.

Been here a few time and although the food is really nice when it's fresh outta the oven, I'm sure the same can be said at any papa johns. What let's this place down is the staff!! The manager I assume who he is, the short lad with arm. He walks round and talk like he is from the stone age!.. very grumpy and doesn't speak much. I think the franchise manager needs to send in some mystery shoppers to see why this particular shop has bad reviews both on here and Google. Wowser.

Have had a takeaway from here on holiday and was better than our local papa johns (which we love) Also, I recently made an order error and they dealt with my mistake fantastically! Much appreciated! Would recommend for both quality and service. Thanks so much! 🙂

My daughter place an order with Just Eat at 12pm, after 2 phone calls to the store, the young man Daryl knocked on the door with a piping hot pizza and was SO apologetic that it had taken over two hours to arrive. He said he is actually a papa johns delivery man NOT just eat, he had been called and asked to go into work early as not due in until 6pm because they don’t know where the just eat driver has gone!! What a lovely young man Daryl is and papa johns…he is an absolute credit to you. The pizza is amazing and from now on we WONT be using just eat, we will be coming to you direct ⭐️ Please could you let Daryl know what a credit he is to your company.

Tasty pizza, nicer than Dominos. However, topping was meagre and a let down. Domino's is more generous with toppings . 25/7

Ordered from here the other day.. And again had a decent pizza.. Love the pizzas from this place.. Just wish they'd bring out new ones to try more often...

This place is just useless, randomly have delivery for an option, never answer the phone, if you get a pizza its generally pretty good but yeah, good luck.

Ordered 45 min before they shut, confirmed my order, took my money, instantly sent the tracker to already delivered and wouldn't answer the phone. Had us sat up till late hoping it was a glitch, went hungry instead. Im going in tomorrow to demand a refund and compensation. How are you gonna confirm an order nearly an hour before closing then ghost a customer while taking my money. Can't even order food elsewhere now because they took my money for tonights work budget, thanks alot I'll be making a formal complaint and speaking to a manager face to face

I CAN understand stuff shortages/problems. I CANNOT understand why I (as a client) have to chase what is going on with my order >1h later, more than once. This time got my (semi-cold) pizza in 90 mins. Previous - called after 1h to get: we will not have drivers for at least next two hours??! You can't call or what - if anybody cares at all. Especially after the 40-50% price hike in the past year.

Safe to say i wouldn't use this store again! Ordered a delivery last night and we had pizza, garlic bread and cheese potato tots. myself, my partner and daughter have all been sick today, been laid up with stomach cramps and aches+chills. I know I cannot 100% prove it was from the pizza but it is the only conclusion I can come to as my other children who didn't eat are fine! I wouldn't advise ordering from this store!

Cold food manager wouldn't listen wasn't very nice lady bad costumer service seal broken. Not eaten. after phoning the store the day after and speaking to the actual store manger I was able to get this sorted! I know mistakes happen it's how you deal with them! I went from never wanting a papas again to wanting to give them another chance! Thank you for sorting this for me! :)

In my opinion the best takeaway pizza chain, always been great fast delivery accurate orders and great tasting. Much prefer compared to domino's and pizza hut.

Okay, I have been here 3 times already in a week so, it is time to review this place! The Food/Pizzas are so good! I don't know anywhere else in Devon were the best pizza is. Like as soon as I walk by, I always want to go inside. With also the decorative stuff, I love the signs and poster and the Interior design. The staff are quite friendly but, should be paid more because of there hard work I've seen so far. They make sure you enjoy what you eat. There is also a selection for vegan people. The pizza's are the best part, they are so delicious! and would highly recommend for you to go there. I tried the Supreme Margherita Pizza which is so good! But, a lot more to tell about this place but I'll leave the experience to you. :D

Tryed to place an order tonight in store told they where closed at 9. 15 pm very disappointed! Your loss going to domino's!
