Teardrop in Oxford

Wandering around Oxford lead me to the Covered Market which led me to stop in here for a pint. The bartender was very knowledgeable and I ultimately chose the stout on tap. It was great and I enjoyed it while sitting right outside watching the Covered Market goers go about their business. Definitely would return for a pint.

We are big fans of craft beer so were pleased to find this small (nano) bar in the covered market. The bar serves local beers on draught (in thirds and two thirds sizes) and a wide range of bottles as well as snacks. We had two local draught beers which were OK, more like traditional ales than the 'craft' beer. A small number of seats are available.

Delightful little bar/shop. Very friendly service, good choice of drinks and always in excellent condition. A must visit if your in the area 👍

Local producer with good choices (for those who appreciate beers). Even the dog could be part of the experience. Service was great very friendly and helpful staffs.

Popped into the Covered Market to find this CAMRA 2024 Good Beer Guide bar. Paulicarus and Jorvic joined me in a small Milk Stout from their own micro brewery. Church Hanbrewery. A new one for me to tick off. Very friendly and informative visit. He even knew my local pubback home.

Spot on bar! Excellent beer and Olly was a lovely guy passionate about the place and everything they have on tap or bottles. Go find out for yourself but take a coat as it gets a bit cold in February or alternatively have the 9.99 stout as that will warm you up. Dog friendly too

Our first visit to the Teardrop in the covered market and I have to say as a Craft Beer & Bottleshop owner it impressed me. Firstly, The beer selection was spot on,loved the 9.99% Stout,the Citra was as I would expect excellent but the Nectaron was the big surprise as I have found the hop to be hit or miss but it was phenomenal in this case. Secondly, Olly is an absolute star,very knowledgeable and very thoughtful. Would I go again? When can I go back again is more like it! Absolutely first class service from Olly who guided us with passion and knowledge through a selection of delicious beer, as well as a few of the wines from next door. Couldn’t have had a better experience and will certainly be back again soon! He even gave us a recommendation for food afterwards which we also thoroughly enjoyed. Top bloke, too beer, lovely ambience and people watching opportunities to boot.

Great place to visit--we came here after a concert and were delighted to find it still open on a Saturday night--if there were more bars etc in the covered market it would be a great evening destination--Very friendly service from Luciana--I had Ox Blood--lovely ale

Teardrop is a one of a kind beer bar! One of my favourite places to sit and enjoy a beer (or three). The chairs outside are few, but the atmosphere is wonderful - perched on the bustling thoroughfare of the covered market, there's lots of people watching to do. Beers - here's the unique part, Teardrop brews some of the most interesting and original beers in Oxford. Forget endless taps of IPAs, no... what will greet you is bold stouts, bright sours, fresh saisons and a whole host of beer styles you forgot you liked. Majority is keg, but there is usually one very well kept cask on offer - amongst floor to ceiling bottled versions. Luciana, the owner, knows her beer and will always recommend something for every taste. My recommendation is to get a tasting flight and try a little of everything! The bonus of Teardrop is that next door is the sister bar Cellar Door (a wine bar) and next door to that is Sartorelli's pizza! Serving fresh pizza straight to your table outside teardrop. Prices are very reasonable for the quality of the small batch beer on offer. Good beer snacks available too!

Excellent beer, excellent value, informative service

Went with a group of friends - they had the beer tasters and I had wine. They were all delicious and lead to us spending the whole afternoon having our favorite drinks from the tasters. Lovely atmosphere. Thanks for having us!

Great bar in Oxford's covered market. The Teardrop and Cellar Door is a great place to take a break from your shopping. Selling craft beers and a great selection of wine by the glass/carafe/bottle at a reasonable price. They do sell snacks , but you are welcome to eat food from one of the market's other eateries, at their tables (if you are having a drink of course !). Wine and beer flights both available, and owners are super friendly.

We had all 8 wines (with the 2 of us) of the tasting. We are almost profesional winetasters ;-) but we had wines we never tasted before! An extraordinary Austrian, a kind of sherry wine from Spain, and above all… 2 nice English wines. We very much liked the rose. So go over there and do the tasting!

A cozy, welcoming, bright and wonderful micro pub with super friendly service, and always an interesting and lovely collection on tap. It is one of our absolutely favourite things to do to come here on a weekend during the day, have a beer and some snacks, have wine next door at the cellar door and pizza the next door over at sartorelli's. Heaven!

Lovely unusual bar. Nestling in Oxfords covered market, it is well worth finding. Great fun, very characterful. Very friendly and with great drinks and snacks. Beer seems to be the speciality, but wine can be bought next door, and Pizza next door but one, if you want something more substantial to eat. The experience here is well away from corporate/chain hospitality. Go here for fun, great drinks and such a friendly welcome. Thanks

A wonderful selection of beers to either drink on their own or as a tasting selection, and while some snacks are available you can always grab a delicious pizza to eat there from the unit next door but one. Next door is the Market Cellar Door so if you fancy wine instead.... And the people who run the places are all great people, making it an even greater pleasure to visit these places in the historic Oxford Covered Market

Tucked away in the Covered Market you will find a tiny family run outlet selling their own beers and local produce. Absolutely excellent range of delicious beers, unusual spirits and nibbles. Find it next to the fish mongers and maybe try some oysters to go with your choice. We have been many times and are always welcomed with friendly and knowledgeable service. Try the Yabbadabbadoo brew and the passion fruit beer if it’s on. You won’t be disappointed. The pickled eggs are amazing too, especially the subtly curry flavored ones!

Whenever I go into oxford I try to drop in here. It's a wonderful gem hidden in the Covered Market, offering a great choice of craft and draft beers (from their own Long Hanborough brewery as well as guests) , wines (superb selection) etc. Very friendly and helpful staff, and they do takeaways too. Didn't disappoint yesterday, and I expect never will!

Church Hanbrewery has some of the best beer I have had in the UK. Teardrop has friendly service, a relaxed atmosphere, and fantastic brewing and serving principles. The beer prices are great, too. Also, they accept cash, which is becoming a rarity in Oxford. The pizza place two stalls down smells delicious, and you can drink your beer there or bring pizza to Teardrop.

Nice little venue with a wide range of different alcohol. Bar staff are friendly and helpful, with recommendations on where to drink as well as where to go in Oxford. They allow you to grab food from elsewhere in the market to eat there too.

Underrated pub, small but perfectly formed. Good range of beers across all styles, my favourite is the czar bomba, a 9.99% stout which is also available outside of winter months, a rarity these days. The owner is very friendly and helpful when choosing a drink, they also sell beer by a couple of other local breweries as well as wines and spirits. You can buy bottles to take away or you can sit and enjoy your drink in the shared seating outside with a tasty pizza from sartorellis.

They’ve got a variety of styles and all are delicious and well done. Wine tastings next door are also a plus. Highlight of any day at the market.

Fantastic find in the covered market. Great choice of local beers and some lovely wines. We went for the full wine flight of 8 glasses for £20! Was made to feel welcome and given some helpful guidance on what to try out. Seating is limited but you soak up the vibe of people walking past and looking jealously at your wine!

Ludicrously good beer, amazing service and all under cover of the gorgeous covered market. This beer is super local, run by the brilliant Luciana & Christian, and is some of the nicest beer you'll find in these parts. Makes for great presents too!

Delightful ales on tap and in bottles. Other unusual drinks to enjoy at this small market kiosk ...local brews and concoctions that are always changing and always interesting. Also the savoury biscuits are a yummy accompaniment, often available in a variety of great flavours.

Lovely Beers, wines and service today. By chance we had cheese and biscuits from local cheese counter (for a picnic) and the lovely people provided wood platters and cutlery and napkins so we could eat there! Just brilliant. Sampling flights of wine or beer highly recommend.

Amazing! Dropped in on a day visit to Oxford, Luciana (sorry if I’ve spelt wrong) was positively lovely, lovely banana lager and mango sour! Also popped next door and had a wonderful glass of Gruner Veltliner, pleasant, friendly and super nice experiance! I will be back ❤️
