Very nice cafe , good service and friendly staff

Review based on many visits, most recently last month. Food is consistently excellent and much of it is locally sourced. The Tiffin cake is my favourite for a naughty treat, and the milkshakes are a firm favourite with the children. Apart from one visit (in many) I have always had brilliant service and the staff are happy to help. The cafe is dog friendly and my dogs have always had lots of fuss! There are water bowls for your dog which is lovely. Only disappointing thing is that they have decided to not take cash so now are card only.

Teal is very exquisite, full of colour and of course lovely food and staff .I enjoy it every time I visit ! I hope this place will still be thriving in years to come .

We have been regular customers of Teal for many many years but of late, the experience hasn’t been good at all… not least the cost! Over £43 for breakfast / smoothies for 2!!! FORTY THREE POUNDS - and that was after we asked for the service charge to be removed! And the eggs are often split / over cooked on the breakfasts. Staff turnover seems very high. Often left waiting to be served and/or grumpy waiting staff. Drinks arriving late into the meal. A cheese omelette cost over £12 (not inc salad or chips which are charged extra!!) Ridiculous prices! Without the service / attention to detail. We won’t be going back, as many other locals agree…

Absolutely terrible the food was terrible and cold and hidden prices on bill like charging extra for scrambled egg when I actually ordered the scrambled egg and salmon on the menu the prices of the full English Didn't even get a full tomato and 1 tiny mushroom bacon was not even cooked it was raw just a complet con and disgusting it was dirty and the service was well there was no service just plates thrown down in front of you and then they add on a service charge I would highly recommend that you AVOID AVOID AVOID YOU AN GET CHEAPER BETTER QUALITY ELSEWHERE I WIll NOT RETURN AGAIN I HAVE ALREADY BEEN TWICE AND IT WAS EXACTLY THE SAME BOTH TIMES I CAN HIGHLY RECOMEND MAGGIES IN LEWISHAM WHICH IS ALL YOU CAN EAT AND BOTTOMLESS TEA OR COFFEE FOR 12 QUID see picture for Maggie menu

An excellent cafe/restaurant. Burgers were stacked and tasty, although reasonably priced. Even the coleslaw and chips are worth a mention. Service was quick and friendly. Plenty of parking and in a very convenient location.

Extremely over priced and over rated also being charged extra for oat milk in my coffee and £3 for a CAN of coke ...also charged extra for scrambled egg when it's was advertised as scrambled egg and salmon It was also cold the service wasn't great and then had a cheek to automatically add a 10% service charge I definitely won't be recommending to anybody

First impression like a hospital canteen, ridiculously overpriced, £13.25 for the teal breakfast of 2 eggs, bacon, sausage, very small beans, half a tomato, and 0ne small flat mushroom, slice of toast, add to that a large?? Coffee comes to £16.50....not impressed at all, double the price of a lot better and bigger breakfasts elsewhere... This is a cafe not the ritz hotel.. My wife had 0ne slice of salmon and scrambled eggs one toast. £12.25.was so bland left the eggs. All in all a rip off never again.!!

Friendly service with really good food. Plenty of parking. Would definitely recommend the teal breakfast. Car wash in the car park so you can get your car washed while you eat

It looks like a great place for lunch or just a snack. We had a sweet tiffin bite (highly recommended) and some soft drinks. The car park signs warned that all cars are captured on camera, and that the car park is only for customers of this cafe, or the car wash.

Good food, service a little slow as it got too busy for the number of staff and slightly over priced.

Just try it! I enjoyed the food, a plus is you can get your car cleaned opposite.

Had Kentish breakfast. Good food, well cooked and presented, but sadly lack of it for the price!

When we arrived at the cafe to have a bite to eat while the car was being washed. We were sat down and given menus. Several people who arrived after us were served first. We asked for tea and coffee and the tea was Luke warm. The young man serving had a fairly detached and disinterested off hand attitude. I ordered the standard breakfast. After 45 minutes our food had not arrived. The car had long since been washed hoovered and parked up. When asked where our food was - we were informed it was another 15 to twenty minutes away. We informed them we were not prepared to wait and should have been informed if there was going to be a long wait. They said sorry but still charged for the tea and coffee. The least they could have done was offered these as a comp for their extremely poor service and sloppy attitude.

Acoustics can be forgiven, but when it came to pay the bill, I gestured to a server who disappeared? I had to get up and tried to make eye contact with 3 people behind the counter, one of our party said one has to pay at the till. There were 8 of us, we wanted to split the bill, some who have left by then after leaving cash. A rather surly unfriendly individual said they don’t take cash because there is no change available, we said we don’t need change. We were then told we could only pay per item on the bill. If she had apologised for the inconvenience, tried to help resolve it and made it easy for everyone, we might have walked away not feeling quite so frustrated. A bit of friendly helpful customer service makes the worlds difference.

I don’t know why I keep going back. Rude staff, expensive food and snobby menu. You may as well go to riding cafe up the road. HOWEVER the bread is great. That’s all. If you like bread I recommend

Teal cafe is a great place to go for a reasonably priced meal. The menu options are good for a cafe and overall my experience has been very good. It gets quite busy at weekends which just goes to show how popular it is. They do a lovely cheeseburger,a good range of jacket potatoes and paninis and other items. They have a good range of hot and cold drinks to choose from as well.

Friendly welcoming and the food and tea was great

We arranged a family get together on Saturday as we live in different areas and the teal was middle distance for all of us. I booked a table for 8-10 people and agreed that we would be there at around mid day.having said that the group from Epsom arrived 45 minutes early, this was not a problem,they were seated at the table. They were not offered any drinks until we arrived , although I was advised in the email confirmation that they were busy with a large group it would have been nice to offer a drink whilst waiting. When we arrived we could see that it was very busy but well staffed to cope,nice clean cafe well presented staff very welcoming. We placed our order with a really charming member of staff and nothing was too much trouble. When the food arrived we were all very happy with the quality, obviously top notch ingredients well prepared and delivered to our table hot and at the same time. Now I have seen the reviews about it being very expensive, if you want to compare it to a road side burger van then you will find it expensive. If you enjoy good quality food in a professional clean environment served by friendly well presented staff then this is the place for you, it may be a little more expensive than some other places but you really do get what you pay for , I would recommend that you treat yourself to a trip to this wonderful cafe ,if you enjoy goog food you will not be disappointed

Stopped by for a quick coffee but pleasantly surprised at how nice it is. Will be visiting again soon.

My Husband and I had limited time to have breakfast and decided to pop down to Teal. As always we were served promptly and the food was lovely. Emily and the team were polite, friendly and professional. 100% recommend

The Teal cafe is close to our home and a regular spot for my wife and I to share lunch or a cup of coffee. The food is great, the pastries tempting and the service friendly and personal. We were served today by Freya who could not have been more helpful, bringing our food really quickly, providing extra water for my teapot and attentively clearing our table as we finished with plates. She told us that she is studying to be a doctor - I suspect she will be a good one! In the meantime, best wishes for your A levels, Freya, and thanks for making our lunch so special!

Emily has a committment to service second to none. She always places the customer first. She was attentive and we were served delicious, freshly prepared food made from quality ingredients. Whenever I pass, I always call into Teal for a warm welcome and a great meal.

Food is fantastic, service is standard but the restaurant is very noisy, especially when busy. Will go back again, but hopefully at a quieter time.

Almost £10 for an americano and a toasted tea cake with marmalade 😮 including the 10% gratuity they add. There wasn’t even any fruit in the tea cake. Madness! I can get fish and chips for less! Also CARD ONLY. Won’t be back. They do a roast dinner for £15.99 I just don’t get their pricing structure at all!?!?

Very expensive , for a cafe , regardless of quality of ingredient, I’m guessing my eggs came from the kings private collection for that price for 2 with 1 slice of bread . Whole menu is expensive . Would not recommend .

Visited late Saturday morning when it was extremely busy. We were seated quickly, served drinks promptly, there was a little wait for the food but not unacceptable. Cooked breakfast was lovely with crispy bacon as requested! Staff all very friendly. If there was any negative it would be that they no longer accept cash payments.

Terrible service. Don’t go with toddlers as you’ll be there for at least 45 mins before you even receive a drink! We arrived after having booked a table and stood at the door for 10 mins before we just decided to go and ask why we had to queue with those who hadn’t booked. Then we got a table finally and ordered drinks. Didn’t receive our drinks until 35 mins later. Food came 15 mins after that. Although fresh, the wait was just too long. To add to that, the place is loud like a Wetherspoon and understaffed. Terrible terrible first experience and we definitely won’t be back.

Visited Teal with my two grand daughters. From the moment we entered we were warmly welcomed and cared for . The waitress , Ellen , put two high chairs in place. Food and drinks were swift to arrive and the baked potato was a hit with the grand children . The plastic cutlery and crockery helped us have a successful meal . Thanks

Waited 20 minutes while others served. It took another customer to point out I was waiting and then no acknowledgment. 7 girls working there and was only about 20% full. Really poor. Hildenborough cafe much better

I do love teal cafe but charging £23 for two coffees and 2 bacon sandwiches to take away is excessive. Will not be doing that again!

Drove past here so many times and having heard great things I will be back. The food is great value, freshly cooked and the staff really pleasant. It’s nice to be able to get a breakfast all day as well - many places stop serving at lunch and we all know there is no meal greater than a full English. They have other stuff on the menu, but personally I don’t know why you’d bother….breakfast all the way please!

Cafe food at restaurant prices. Very overpriced. Service was also poor. Staff were rude. We went on a Sunday at 1.50pm and were told we could still order food but kitchen would close in 10.minutes. As we ate, they cleaned up around us very obviously and made us feel very uncomfortable. They obviously wanted to get rid of us. We rushed our food and left in 25 minutes. We won't be returning!

The best English breakfast imaginable. Every item was good quality and perfectly cooked, eggs prepared as requested. Really good quality coffee. Excellent service from Beth and other waiting staff who clearly enjoyed working there and wanted to show it.

Car park is dangerous for motorcycles, big holes upon entrance from fast road and rocks the size of golf balls and bigger everywhere. Has been like this for years except is now worse. Someone will have a serious accident one day in the car park or entering or exiting from the fast main road. Shows Wi-Fi but doesn’t work.

Lovely Cafe with a beautiful teal exterior. The patio looks like somewhere I would host a small wedding. The staff were very polite. The drinks were phenomenal. Definitely best part of the while thing. I ordered eggs Royale which was essentially eggs Benedict with smoked salmon. It came with microgreens and hollandaise sauce on the side. It was rather simple. I wish it came with some sliced avocados as it tasted a bit bland. I'm interested in going back to try the American pancakes

Phone and tablet doesn’t work, shows Wi-Fi but not working from my visits

Found this coffee shop, by chance, a few years ago. Now try to visit whenever going down the A21, as just 5 mins away. The 2pm closure can be a problem but even then they'll serve scone or cakes with a drink.

Great little tea shop style with a wonderful breakfast selection, great warm and friendly staff with excellent parking facilities. Toilets were impeccable. Best sausages for miles. Still fabulous in 2023!

Staff need to drop the attitude considering they charge extortionate prices for bog standard grub.

I belong to a club who meet there once a month for breakfast. We tend to arrive there just before they open at 9.00am. There is a good choice of dishes which are well cooked.

Food was soooo good! We had 2x totally teal full English breaki’s! 10/10! Mel served us and was fantastic. Great place!!!

Food is quite good but the tea cup is dirty with broken milk container. Hot chocolates are cold. I would not recommend this café at this price (£45 for 3 people!).

We all enjoyed our meals. Portions were pretty good but it was quite expensive for what it was. Difficult to create an "atmosphere" in such a large naturally lit area. Really, best described as an up-market greasy-spoon! The service from the friendly and efficient staff was superb.

Diverted past due to road works, looked nice, staff very polite and efficient. Had Kentish Breakfast @ £10 seemed a bit excessive at first, ok don't get me wrong I'm not opposed to a £10 breakfast it's just what you get for your money (value for money) 1 round of Toast, a ramekin of Beans, a small pre cooked Egg, a large (very nice) Sausage and (the elephant in the room) a Very small pre cooked and dried up slice of Bacon which in my opinion unnecessary as it took an obscene amount of time to receive our food, it really wasn't that busy, I think they could included tea or coffee in the price. Now don't get me wrong I'm not suggesting you avoid this place, on the contrary the Food was nice, the staff was nice and the settings was nice. PS. (In their defense) when I complained about the Bacon it was replaced with an equally small but not as dried up rather.

Good food, good service and lovely staff. You can hear road traffic from the outside or the marquee but the owners obviously wouldn’t be able to do anything about that. Highly recommend the halloumi and mango salad.

Although more pricey than most cafes, the service and food more than make up for it. The smashed avocado is really delicious. There is a gluten free, vegetarian and vegan menu, and coffee is available with various types of milk.

Although living in the Sevenoaks area for many years, I had not visited the refurbished Teal Cafe. The restaurant is light and airy with plenty of young and eager staff to serve. I opted for a mixed platter of bacon, black pudding, two fried eggs...

Went on a Sunday around 1pm. Walked into a disaster area of uncleared tables, screaming children and waiters flitting about. We were approached by someone who seemed surprised to see us waiting to be seated, and when I asked to be sat outside, we had to wait another few minutes for a table to be cleared. Once we sat down, we had already decided to have a couple cold sandwiches and canned drinks, an order that we hoped would be quick and easy. After another 10 minutes of waiting, someone finally acknowledged us. We ordered a cold sandwich and were then informed that it would be at least 20 minutes' wait. This was because they had been slammed with orders. Not only did they want to charge £9 for a ham and cheese sandwich, but they also wanted us to wait longer. We looked around at a half empty restaurant, and decided it would be faster to drive home and eat there instead. I would think a restaurant would properly staff and train people to be able to handle rushes, but I'm not sure this is the case here. I don't think we'll be back. On the bright side they do have a reasonably priced car wash in the car park.

Lady who looked to be in charge was rushing around doing a bit of everything while the young staff she had didn't seem to be doing much! One young lady cleared a table which took some time and did not go back and wipe it over or tidy the condiment up. Took a while for someone to take our drinks order when it really wasn't to busy and there were alot of staff. Cany fault the food that was lovely I had poached eggs on toast cooked perfectly. Was a little costly but have been to more expensive places.

Visited this cafe for the first time in years always used to stop here when I was a hgv driver. The food was OK, the service was good but they put a discretionary service charge on the bill , its only a run of the mill cafe nothing fancy. Just do what you do best serve food don't try to be upmarket

One of the nicest "greasy spoons" I've had the pleasure of eating at. They allowed us to bring our lovely, well behaved dog inside. Very friendly staff and prompt waiting & food service. Prices may have been a tiny bit steep, but it's marginal when compared with the fab staff, warm atmosphere and tasty food. My thanks to you all.

Right off the motorway a great spot to "refuel". Plenty of parking available to the front and side of the cafe. We came around lunch time on a Sunday but it was not too busy. The cakes looked delicious but we ended up having a late brunch instead. Unfortunately our ticket orders were lost and so we had to wait quite a long time before we actually got our drinks and food, but they came and apologised and offered a round of drinks on the house. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. Would come again. 👌

A stroke of what seemed like ill luck led me to discover this gem of a cafe today, when I had a puncture on the way to driving my daughter to a GCSE exam and found the carpark to be a safe refuge to pull in. I had a refreshing breakfast tea and very tasty double espresso while I sorted things out on the phone, and the staff were so friendly and helpful that it really took me by surprise - they went above and beyond in their kindness. I didn’t have time to try the food but it looked both tasty and competitively priced, and the comforting ambience in the place really calmed me down. The early clientele all seemed to be enjoying the meals and drinks on offer, including a fellow driver who I got talking to while his breakfast was prepared by the busy staff. I’d heard good things about this place, and now I know why. The team on duty turned a distressing experience into something that I’ll remember with pleasure. My heartfelt thanks, and I certainly plan to go back.

First time here and will be last. Starting with the good: the staff were lovely. Beyond that, the food was overpriced for what it was worth and the milkshakes taste like Nesquik (I could’ve made it at home)

This cafe isn’t just a normal cafe, from the outside you wouldn’t think to enter to get a decent meal but…DO IT. We went for a full breakfast and were not disappointed, it was well presented, tasted great, great portion and good value for money....
