The absolute best tea shop around, the staff will cater for all needs and the cakes are absolutely delicious.

An afternoon tea for 10 of us ladies. Fabulous sandwiches, fresh warm scones and a choice of 7 flavours of cake. Everything was delicious.

I’ve bought take away from here before and it’s been fine however today and ordered a panini n slice of cake. Got home n realised the cake was smallest segment of cake I’ve had before. Bit steep for £3.70 a slice.

Pretty tea room offering a great selection of food. Tasty, generous portions, especially the scones! Very pleasant surroundings and helpful and friendly staff. Well worth a visit.

Lovely afternoon tea, plenty to eat.

Having had my own Teashop,this was disappointing.Sandwiches were bland and bread extremely cold,obviously straight out of fridge.No choices of tea offered and coffee tasted like any other packet or machine coffee. Apparently they have not been open very long.....lots of improvements needed

4 of us visited midweek lunchtime for an afternoon tea for our Mum's birthday. We had pre booked and we were really impressed. The service was excellent, the women who served us was really friendly and attentive. The choice of sandwiches to start were tasty and had something for everyone. Followed by warm scones which were delicious and jam and cream in the sweetest pots with double spoons to serve. We then got to choose which flavour cake we would like afterwards and the slices were generous. The tea and coffee was very nice and refilled throughout. All of the food was displayed very nicely and the variety of vintage crockery made it even more special. We had not been here before but would definitely return. The prices were reasonable too. We had afternoon tea here for a birthday, it wasn't acknowledged that it was a birthday even though we hired out the 'venue'. We had one vegan cream tea required and the Sandwiches for everyone were already made you did not have a choice. The Vegan sandwiches were beetroot and cream cheese (of some sort not convinced it was vegan) the others were hummus and cucumber.. There was 16 of us and we had to keep asking for more tea which was brewed in a giant pot. We had to ask for a milk substitute for the vegan i.e. soya, oat etc, the bottle of coke was expired from October 2021, there was a hair in one of the non vegan sandwiches. The vegan scones were extremely dense, and it was acknowledged that they were by the owner. For £365 it was not a good experience, and I would not be returning nor would any of the other 15 people that came with us. Shame, as we have been to a few places for afternoon tea.

Lovely food, great service. It was my first visit but definitely won't be the last!!! Definitely recommended.

I went here on a recommendation and was glad I did. Great coffee, and very delicious scones and bakewell cake. The service was also fantastic and delivered with a smile. I will most definitely be back here soon.

The place was nice, loved all the mixture of cups, saucers, plates ect. Ordered eggs benidic with salmon. It came without the salmon. Service could do with improving, however staff were friendly enough.

4 of us went today for lunch. It was full and before we sat down the waitress apologised for potential delays as they were short staffed. She needn't have though as everything was great about our visit. We had delicious quiches, salads, sandwiches and an omelette. The coffees were really good quality. There was a friendly atmosphere and the tea rooms were very clean and quaint in decor. I really don't know why the previous 1 star review was even posted. The author of that post hasn't even been in there. How rude and unnecessary. Also, what does that sentence even mean???? Rant over. Thank you.

Lovely place , unfortunately we got there at 1pm and they were due to close at 2pm for private function . Ordered food , my jacket potato was Luke warm but waitress was great and did reheat for me . Finished food by 1.35 in plenty of time for private function , but outside blind was closed while we were sitting in sun , felt like we were being hurried out . Felt uncomfortable and an inconvenience, such a shame as looks like could be a gem of a place .

So happy when I saw that were taking orders for whole quiches, cakes etc. We ordered a quiche and a batch of scones they were delicious. Good value for money, we need to keep these little gems of Tea rooms in business through these tough times. I recommend treating yourself.

Took my daughter for a afternoon tea at this lovely little establishment. The waitresses were very attentive and helpful. Tea is served in China teapots and cups and there was amble cups from a medium pot for 2, we were offered extra milk and a top up of water if required. Cake selection was fantastic. the only criticism was that I had a beef and horseradish sandwich which I thought was a bit lacking due to the processed beef, but to offer freshly cut cooked beef, I would expect not be cost effective and therefore cannot see an alternative. However my daughter has a salmon and cream cheese panini which was better and more substantial. Overall I would definitely recommend this lovely little place for tea and scones or cake and more. Will definitely be paying a visiting again.

Had a jacket potato which was OK would prefer proper lettuce with the salad instead of spinach leaves the home made scones with cream and jam was loveley and was tempted to have a piece of home made cake as well but was too full up they looked delicious had a loveley time here and will return

Lovely little tea room in the quiet Pantiles. I literally live opposite and my 11 year old absolutely loves it! She even goes over with her friends on their own for pots of tea and cake. Thanks guys :)

Went here with work and had the cafe booked for our party and informed them that I couldn't eat dairy. They were so obliging, I had diary free cream, they made sure I had enough sandwiches without butter and mayo and they were really attentive. I didn't feel like I was putting them out and they certainly went out of their way to cater for me for which I was grateful. Highly recommend this lovely local place

I booked afternoon tea for 2 for my Mum's birthday. I've been to some more expensive afternoon tea places in London which offer quite a different experience, however I really loved it here. The food was cheap, but superb quality. The cafe is small and cosy, with cute mismatched crockery. The sandwich fillings were quite basic, but the bread was very fresh. The scones and cakes were delicious. The cakes are 'nan-style homemade' cakes. Really light and fluffy and gorgeous. We actually liked them so much that we bought extra slices of cake to take home to our partners.

Great food and service have been several times now and will be visiting again in the future 😃

They accommodated 14 of us for a staff meeting and we all thoroughly enjoyed it ! The sandwich selection suited us all even the vegetarians, and the cakes were to die for .. very quaint little place with excellent service, we will be returning

So yesterday i held my friends baby shower at tea on the pantiles from booking back in October until yesterday the service I received was second to none ! The staff were very accommodating and went above and beyond to help us and meet our needs. The afternoon tea itself was absolutely delicious there was plenty of sandwiches and the scones were the best I've had In along time. Also we had a vegan lady in our party and she recieved her very own special sandwiches and cakes which she thoroughly enjoyed ! I would reccommend tea on the pantiles in a heart beat if you are looking for a venue with a intimate feel then look no further Thankyou again for an amazing afternoon we will be back soon xxx Renay xx

I visited on a Saturday morning and was surprised we got a table. The girls were very friendly and we was served quickly. We only had a sandwich but thoroughly enjoyed and would definitely return

Me and my sister went to have lunch here, only to find the lady serving obviously didn’t want to be there and was quite rude in her manner. Wish we had just turned around and gone somewhere else. Found a hair in my cake too, so defiantly will not be returning to this awful place! Avoid avoid avoid!

Extremely relaxing. Very caring and helpful staff. Food is fresh and of excellent quality. Prices very reasonable for the quality and portion. Limited seating so may need to think about booking if visiting during the lunchtime period as it can get full.

Came here for a colleagues 40th birthday lunch and it was very quaint and delicious! Yummy cakes and sandwiches. Will definitely be returning, only thing i would say is to have a gluten and dairy free option to broaden horizons.

Visited to celebrate my birthday, had a cream tea with some of the family. Loved the sandwiches, scones and cake, nothing was to much trouble. Tea and coffee flowed freely, would recommend, give it a try.

I don't write many reviews but if you like good old-fashioned service in charming, relaxed surroundings, look no further. The cakes are the best I've had anywhere and the mushrooms on sourdough bread is to die for. Why go to Costas when you can treat yourself here?

I took my mum for a birthday lunch. The waitress totally ignored us when we arrived. When she eventually came over it took ages for the food to arrive. There was only one other person in the cafe so it wasn't busy. When we wanted more drinks I had to go and find the waitress as there was no one around. The waitress was quite rude and didn't ask how our food was and would we like anything else. When I asked for some cake for my mum the waitress looked so bored and fed up. Then we found a hair in my mums cake which just topped it. It was such a let down it just seemed the waitress really didn't want us there. I definitely won't be returning and would tell anyone to avoid such a dreary place.

A sweet little tea room with lovely vintage furniture, china, table cloths etc. The decor is very pretty but best of all the food is good. Sandwiches and frittata are freshly made to order, quiches are home made and tasty dishes like creamy mushrooms on sourdough and specials like mediterranean vegetables with feta and pine nuts make this tea room stand out from others. The service is excellent and the staff are lovely. We have become regulars.

Ideal location in a quieter area not to far from Northumberland Heath's busy shops. The three of us went for lunch and had jacket potatoes with our various chosen fillings. They were huge and came with a salad garnish. The tea pot for one would have been plenty for two as was the coffee pot. To be sure of getting a seat we do think it would be wise to book in advance. Every table was taken though there were a couple of tables on the pavement. Definitely would return and we found it inexpensive, good varied menu. Cheery staff.

I have been a customer for several years now and I have never had a bad lunch which is why I love going back. I had the garlic mushrooms on Friday on sour bread and it was delicious. The poaçhed eggs are fantastic. As for the cakes, original and a variety but I do love the scones. It does get busy so good idea to book

My Dad and I have visited twice and both occasions have been splendid !!

Lovely place run by three attentive ladies for whom nothing is too much trouble. There is a real 'homey' vibe here, enhanced by the miscellany of china your food is served on. Every time I've been there I've been charmed by the whole ambience.

Have just had a really lovely afternoon here. Booked four full cream teas one of which was gluten free. The table had real white linen tablecloths on and all the mismatched vintage china. The whole tea was presented nicely and the gluten free sandwiches and scones were brought up separately so there was no confusion. We had two pots of tea and our scones were warmed for us. As a coeliac disease sufferer I had exactly the same cream tea as the others so did not miss out on anything! Will definitely be coming again! Well done Tea on the Pantiles!

Had another great experience on Sunday 11th June. Food excellent and very welcoming staff. We were initially going to meet in the shop hours but as so many of the group wanted to come again we had it exclusively for us! We were aware before the day that the price was £16.50 instead of £13.50 due to having the shop to ourself so surprised the other write up advised she was not aware. Can't comment on children prices or if tasters are available on a private hire as only adults attended on this occasion. Will definitely be returning soon.

I visited with my daughter for a treat. We had a 'Taster Afternoon Tea' which was £7.50 each for a sandwich, cake or a scone and a tea or coffee which I thought was excellent value for money.

Me and my mum had previously visited here for a cuppa and a cake and thought it would be nice to have afternoon tea for my sisters birthday for all the women in our family (a nice girly day out)... well that was a big mistake!!!

I have been here several times and found the staff extremley polite and very friendly. Nothing is too much bother for them. A good selection of home made cakes which I have to say are delicious. The menu is varied for lite bites and its very nice for lunch. There's plenty on the plate and I have no complaints and highly recommend this tea shop. I have booked a birthday celebration for my 85 year old Nan and a baby shower for my daughter. The shop owner Vanessa helped us with our selection and gave great advice for both events before we booked. Looking forward to many more visits and scrummy cakes to sample.

Called in on a busy Saturday lunchtime. Last table with the comfy chairs. We both ordered a sandwich and a scone priced at £7.50 with tea. Overall very good, could be improved by using 'nicer' bread. Otherwise good value with nice china and good service.
