Everyone was very friendly, but there were problems communicating with the staff in English. They were quite good, but not fluent.

I guess it’s fine if you like tea with all the pomp. Nothing blew me away. Pretty pricey but on par with the rest of central London. Did it for my daughters and wife.

Charming experience. Pity the scones were too cooked ....

We had been touring so may have looked a little dishevelled when we arrived but I was disappointed that the concierge felt it necessary to send a female staff member into the toilet to check on me. Frankly, they should have been grateful for our patronage. Tea was lovely but I would be careful who I would recommend it to.

Booked an afternoon tea reservation here because it was walking distance from Harrods. I was able to leave my backpack with the concierge which was nice to not have to worry about it while I dine. A few of the staff members spoke Spanish which felt like a nice piece of home. Our server was informative when it came to the different tea selections and what experience would be best suited for first-timers. The tea, sandwiches, desserts and scones were all delicious! The atmosphere was quite nice, the interior has a charm to it with tall windows that allow natural light into the space.

The service was great, as was the food. Went for a birthday afternoon tea and was definitely and afternoon to remember. Very good

A good afternoon tea experience. The food was good, the chocolate cake was a bit too sweet (but it is a personal preference). By the end of it we learned that one of the sandwich breads was actually a chocolate loaf, which was unusual for us! It would have been better to learn about it t the beginning of the experience so we could pay more attention when tasting it.

What a wonderful place to spend for Afternoon Tea - the scones were fresh and delicious - the best I had while in London - the tea was excellent and good choices - appreciated the service from start to finish. Highly recommend and would return again.

Very quiet afternoon tea on 2nd Jan - just one other table occupied. We were full after all the food. On the pricier side which isn't unexpected for location. But lovely setting, deco and friendly/helpful staff.

I had afternoon tea here as part of a hen party. Even though they were obviously busy, the staff were very helpful. The area that serves afternoon tea is part of The George Hotel and it was very busy in there. Our food did take a little while to arrive, but it was lovely and freshly made. I would definitely recommend someone booking to come here. We had gluten free and vegetarians in our party and they were catered for

The service was excellent but the afternoon tea after all was a bit poor and the cakes really really sweet we couldnt really finish them the sugar was over the top the cheese cake instead was excellent

Had afternoon tea here on Friday and honestly it’s really rubbish. The decor is so outdated and the room they serve the tea in is super small and confined so if you have claustrophobia do not go here. The afternoon tea itself was horrible. We were given three finger sandwiches that wouldn’t even fill up my 2 year old let alone a grown adult. The sweet treats were equally as awful. For £43 this is not worth it at all. The service was okay but like I said you’re in a room in the corner of the hotel and there isn’t any workers nearby. You have to get up and go to reception if you want service.

Zeer aangename ervaring. Verfijnde sandwiches. De marmelade bij de scones proefde naar vers fruit. De bediening was uitmuntend. We voelden ons als prinsen. Enige minpuntje was dat de plooien niet uit het tafelkleed waren gestreken.

Nice atmosphere and knowledgeable, attentive staff. The food was lovely however, we felt there wasn't enough in the savory (only one sandwich) but way too much dessert that we certainly couldn't finish. We were expecting (and hoping for) may be one more little savory dish, particularly when we booked for around lunch time.

It was a very nice place but very pricey and had to wait a lot for the food to come.

The tea service came highly recommended by a friend. Unfortunately this service was not good and our table was treated differently than others. Hopefully it was just an off day.

Second visit here and would highly recommend. Lovely little find, very relaxing and peaceful, wouldn’t think you were in the centre of London. We had the dining room to ourselves and had wonderful service during our afternoon tea. I had the bottomless Prosecco, and at only a few pounds more than the regular afternoon tea, was excellent value for money. Would definitely return in the future. Keep up the good work 👏🏻🥂☕️

We were the only ones there so we had the room all to ourselves. We enjoyed the whole exprience.

I decided to take my friend here after we had been to the Dior Exhibition as a belated Christmas present. We both throughly enjoyed our tea. The food and staff were excellent nothing was too much trouble. Would recommend this venue.

The Christmas Afternoon Tea was fantastic in the Sitting Room on Christmas Eve. All the elements of tea were thoroughly enjoyed by my whole family with the most memorable bits being the subtly spiced tea drink; the beetroot red bread turkey the mini 'christmas pudding' choux buns filled with the most delightful seasonally flavoured cream...and not to forget the scones themselves. Great service too by all the staff at the hotel, but I must mention Savi who looked after us with attentive and flawless service from the time we arrived to when we left. Thank you

The service was great and the tea, scones, sandwiches and sweets were top notch! I knocked off a star because there was drilling going on in the hotel during our tea and it was a bit noisy and distracting. Other than that it was lovely!

I took some American friends there for a taste of the English afternoon tea experience. It really wasn't that impressive. The selection was pretty meagre and when the sandwiches came I realised I've had as good or better in your standard high street coffee shop. They have a nice selection of teas though. I left thinking I should have taken them to any of the many other options in the area.

I invited a business friend to afternoon tea there on a Sunday as we had not been able to meet for lunch during the week. Service was attentive, home-made sandwiches, scones and small pastries and sweets were delicious and not too voluminous, the scones came in half the normal size which was great. They brought another set of sandwiches to us upon request and did not charge us for them, which was nice. The choice of tea and other drinks was great and I really liked the elderflower jelly desert they served with the 2 other pastries, as it was light and refreshing. Had been for lunch before but it was also nice for tea, comfortable and intimate enough to have a private conversation.

this hotel is under staff hence you are seat with 30 min and nobody bother to serve you. The afternoon tea is very small in portion. Other than the location, and if you do go in simply drink a cup of coffee is fine, otherwise choose a better venue.

Arrived and was told to wait in the bar where a member of couldn't even be bothered to get off his bar stool so we stood waiting for someone to take us to our table. Waited a while for service. After eating the the sandwiched we were asked if we would some more we then waited 30 mins for more this was a long wait as we wanted to eat our cakes after the sandwiches. We were never offered a fresh pot of tea or in my case a coffee. Not a place to go for afternoon tea if you love afternoon tea please avoid it was our anniversary and it was spoilt by high expectations which weren't there.

Royal Afternoon is excellent. Particularly the chocolate cherry scone. Enjoyed tea room's cozy atmosphere and comfort. I will certainly visit with friends again :)

It was a lovely afternoon tea. The situation was amazing, near all wonderful shop. The food was tart and in enough quantity. We had a lovely time

Booked on the same day for afternoon tea for a group of 5 of us. I was quite late but my friends were on time and enjoying being seated in a fairly small room upstairs, which felt secluded and private, but may have been noisy for the couples with our group all talking and then there was a bigger table. We had one child with us and she decided to just share with us. This was fine although initially our bill had been charged for 5 covers this was immediately rectified when we pointed this out. The teas were good. The food was great and there was more than just sandwiches for savouries. We got mini quiches, smoke salmon on mini crumpets, smoked mackerel pate on toast, brown bread with turkey and cranberry and white bread with egg. The savouries were refilled after they asked if we would like more. Although they had no more crumpets (they only do enough for the number of people booked) but gave us smoked salmon in brown bread, which was fine. We had actually started with our ice cream sandwich as it was likely to melt, but I think it would have been ok for a bit. That was alright. Then a few mini cakes and a trifle, which were cute and just right. My favourite was the lemon drizzle cake. Finally we got plain and raisin scones with jam and clotted cream. These were warm and delicious. We had a few bits and bobs leftover and asked if we could take them away. This was done without fuss and came back to us in three small cardboard boxes and in a cool little Capital Hotel bag. It would have been good to get more bags, but in the end only one of us ended up with all the boxes so it was academic. For the price, £34 a head (with service) this was not bad at all. The service was a tad slow in places, for example there was a bit of delay before we got the second round of sandwiches and savouries, but we were having such an awesome time and we just began eating cakes when we couldn't wait. All in all we had a brilliant time and enjoyed our afternoon tea at the Capital Hotel.

For £30 per person, it wasn't bad value, but if you only have time for one Afternoon Tea in London, don't go to The Capital. The food looked bought-in, the selection was boring, service started well but disappeared in th middle. The whole establishment isn't what it used to be. Average price, average product.

The afternoon tea was very tasty in lovely cosy surroundings. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was plenty to eat and we even had to say no to an offer of extra Christmas cake and mince pies as we were so full!

Took my goddaughter here for a Christmas treat, and she loved it. The tea is perhaps a little overdone on the sweets and not enough on the savoury, and the room is very small so it gets warm. however, the service is wonderful, and it's a terrific place for a special treat.

Decided to take my mum for (Australian) Mother's Day tea, and wasn't disappointed. Good service, great food and loads of tea. Shame that the coffee only came by the cup.

Very nice atmosphere, waiters were very polite....food took a while to be served but during our wait our teas were topped up. Hibiscus and currant tea is a must!!

Having looked at the pictures on the website before I booked The Capital for afternoon tea, I expected the ambient to have a style/charm. The afternoon tea is served in a small breakfast room on the first floor, no charm whatsoever. The food was ok, nothing special but was decent, the service was really good, however, for this value one would expect a nice atmosphere. That was definitely missing. I wouldn't go back.

Thoroughly enjoyed it. Selection of sandwiches/cakes was lovely. We all ate very well and enjoyed the atmosphere.
