Great ethical local cafe. Traditional menu you would expect in a cafe. Service is friendly and food was good. They have a scheme where you can purchase an additional drink which someone who needs one can get. Brilliant idea! My only criticism was that it was quite cold in the cafe but not sure what can be done about that and would not prevent me from returning.

........ with a great view of the castle/town. Entered the cafe and an elderly women appeared and looked at me as if I had three heads. No greeting, a hello or can I help you. I asked for a pot of tea, and she looked bewildered and said "we are closed" as if it were obvious, with the door wide open, music playing and people still sat outside. It was a very warm day, but if the door was open and they wernt, then maybe put a cone, or a sign or a chain/rope across the doorway...?? States on Google closing time as 5pm? I can now see on here its 4pm, which is early. And people who just call on a wim, arnt to know this.

Caffi ardderchog a'r cyfle i roi diod poeth i rywun arall heb drafferth. Great café for all ages. Excellent coffee at very reasonable price (much nicer than the chain coffee shops). Giving disadvantaged people an opportunity without compromising standards (or maybe that's why the standards are so high). Nice view across the Maes from the windows / outside seats. And there's even a "suspended coffee" scheme so you can pay for a coffee for someone who can't afford their own.

Caffi Gisda is a lovely clean Caffe, situated on the Maes in the centre of Caernarfon, and within full view of Caernarfon Castle. Myself and co,workers were there for lunch one afternoon , and our order consisted of various lunchtime meals, b,pot/ TUNA ,SALAD. TOASTIES, AND EGG, BACON MUSHROOMS. Every meal camme out to the highest standard, all staff were lovely and very friendly. They will also serve you a meal if on a calorie controlled diet which other visitors at the establishment were heard to say was amazing, this Caffe is a little gem well worth a visit,to which i know you will want to return to , very clean, very friendly and accommodating, top marks for very reasonably priced meals. Me and Hubby decided to go here for our lunch on a recent windy Wednesday afternoon. It is a charity run cafe which supports vulnerable young people in the local area. I went up to the counter to get a menu. There was plenty of choice. We both chose the full all-day breakfast meal deal @ £6 (which included a hot drink). I was able to pay the total of £12 by card (contactless). The staff were helpful and friendly.

This café, run by local charity, GISDA, is my regular stop off when in town, even though I live only a couple of minutes walk away. Many of the staff are young people in training, and they provide a good range of hot and cold snacks and the ususl drinks. A bonus is the chance to buy ‘suspended coffee’ for anyone who needs it - the receipt is put on a board outside. There’s usually a lively atmosphere, be it local ladies sharing the gossip, or the kitchen staff flapping to deter the gulls from dive-bombing the tables outside - where you can sit with a view of the castle and watch the comings and goings on Y Maes (Castle Square). Who could ask for more? Well, they also host and facilitate groups for young people, and last year opened their doors at Christmas to street homeless. I heartily recommend Te a Cofi - why not skip the fancy chain coffee shop and share the love!

I went here with my Hubby for lunch on a chilly Tuesday. It is situated at the top of the main square overlooking the fountain and castle. It is run by a local charity (GISDA) which trains vulnerable young people in the catering industry. At the counter, I ordered the 2 meals for £10 offer and 2 teas. The bill came to £12.40 (cash payments only). I also paid separately for a "suspended" hot drink @ £1.20. This process means that you pay in advance for a tea or coffee which is subsequently redeemed by a disadvantaged person in need. We had to wait a while (although we were grateful for the sit down) for our meals to be served. Hubby had 3 sausages, 2 eggs, chips and beans. I had 6 fishfingers, chips and beans. The food was basic but satisfying. I would recommend supporting this worthwhile project.

A good size and quality breakfast for under a £5er including a cup of tea!! thats value! As another reviewer said, this should be standard!!! I hate it when a breakfast is a £5er, then you have to spend £2 or £2.50 on a coffie/tee, what is the actual cost of a cup of tea? a bit of milk, some hot water n a tea bag. If you are buying a breakfast i beleive it should include a cup of tea. So well done te a cofi!!

As said in the title, the Full Breakfast served here is at a much higher standard than their rivals. On top of this, their breakfasts costs less than a fiver and comes with a cup of tea/coffee (really can't understand why this isn't a standard thing elsewhere?!). However, don't be fooled by the brex that they've got, as their choice of main meals are a bargain @ 2 4 £10. I would also highly recommend a freshly made smoothie with your order.Visited a few time with friends and family and have yet to be dissapointed! Keep up the good work chaps!

I visit this cafe on regular basis, I absolutely love it! There's great coffee and a nice view of the 'maes' and the castle walls in the distance. One of the best things about it is it's amazing value for money!!Although I mainly come here for a drink and maybe a cheeky bit of cake, I have sampled a few items off the menu. The breakfast bap is a must for a morning belly buster, but my absolute favourite is the cheeseburger and chips! Proper burger with proper chips! It's such a treat to have homemade chips, I go to so many places and pay a lot more only to receive frozen chips, it really grinds my gears! The burger itself is excellent quality and nothing like the usual paper thin meat disc you get in McDonalds! You may not notice it straight away but the cafe is a local training center for young people and volunteers. The staff do a fantastic job with keeping the cafe running and supporting the numerous volunteers they have throughout the week. So to sum it all up - it's a great little cafe with fantastic food for a very reasonable price that also helps people in the community.Keep up the good work! 5/5!

The service we received was extremely good. The value for money was amazing as well. I spent almost half what I would if we had gone to a chain/branded coffee shop. We asked why it was so cheap and we were told it's because the café runs to help support young people in gaining skills and confidence to find work. They are a charity, and charge less as they may not offer the desired customers experience you might receive from a branded coffee shop. However, the customer service we received was perfect! The atmosphere is very relaxed and they didn't mind our 3 year old daughter bouncing around after her homemade cupcake. There was free Internet available for customers, delicious homemade cakes, and with tea served in large mugs it was more like a relaxed brew at home. Thanks for a lovely cup of tea for out last day in Wales. I would highly recommend visiting here if you are having a walk through Caernarfon and need some where to rest or grab lunch.

We were visiting Tywyn for a few days and had to leave our Airbnb by 10am. We decided to get breakfast before our 4 hour journey home. As we were walking our dog I saw a man that appeared to be local and asked him if he could recommend a place for breakfast, he recommended Cegin Fach. We went in and within a few minutes it was filled up with locals. We ordered & was greeted by a very friendly man and lady. We sat in the corner with our Border Collie. We ordered 2 Regular breakfasts with Americano coffees. The food was fresh and delicious. The coffee was great and the service was fast & friendly. If we lived closer this would be our regular cafe,

Had a two night stay here over the weekend of the 6th Sept and what a wonderful little place it is. Emma and Menno were the most welcoming, friendly hosts and we immediately felt like this was a home from home, our room was very cosy and complete with home made Welsh cakes that went down a treat with a cup of tea after the long drive. The breakfasts were amazing and with the added twist of a Dutch breakfast option courtesy of Menno. The tea rooms are currently closed allowing for a lovely spacious breakfast room which is decorated with photos and keepsakes from all over the world. Emma gave us pointers on the local eateries and places to go and even filled up our water bottles for us when we went out on our hike. This is a fantastic base for walking with easy access to both the Rydd Ddu, and Snowdon Ranger paths up Snowdon as well as having several lakes and close by to the Nantile Ridge. Ty Mawr is currently up for sale which is a shame because we would definitely stay again. Thank you Emma and Menno for giving us a really lovely stay.
