My brothers and I had climbed Snowdon, fancied a well deserved drink after the climb so we went to head in and we got ushered out immediately (I didn't even get over the threshold) saying they were members only and they don't serve alcohol. He then awkwardly looked at 2 customers in plain view (who were drinking lager) and said thats coffee and had a good laugh at us. We were 5 gents, middle aged and a very quiet group. But this gentleman made us feel awful. Stay clear of this horrible man. Put a pic of our group up. Why do you think he wouldn't let us in?

Looking forward to the Real Fires and the Chat with Stephan - Just ascended yr Wyddfa - and descending via Llanberis path just to pop in for my customary Welsh Beer. Only to find Stephan advising they were closed when he was serving someone i think. My party of 4 were soaked - so had to continue into Llanberis . Signs saying "OPEN" all around. Update: Some feed back from Stephan as to why was "closed" 330/4pm Thursday 11 April 2024 - seems fair - but he just said we are closed and that was it! Would of contacted Stephan separately but website gone and no email address or number to call - apols if needed Stephan. Not sure when i will be back in Eryri - but i will be sure to pop in and say S'mae / Hello. Another Photo from a visit August 2016 and Stephan said hello Paul!! enjoying a Celtica bought at Penceunant Isaf (the other bottle - after carrying up and down the Cwrw Eryri from Bragdy Mws Piws)

Rude asked for a toilet before I was going to get a drink told me if I don't buy and spend money I'm not using them, as for the replay this comment was made with without asking my intentions, I would happily pay for services but not when you tell me buy something spend money! Not the way to go about it put a sign up saying non customers toilet fee and I would happy tip

After a miserable walk up Snowdon and having to admit defeat with the weather conditions, our spirits were lifted when we visited this cafe. We were greeted with such warmth and care by the loveliest man, we were immediately offered a hot drink and to sit by the fire. He also gave us a bag to put all of our wet clothes in. He genuinely cheered us up and ‘saved our lives’ as we put it🤣🥰🗻 (fyi, we are the teachers from the north east🤣)

Great location! Depends what time you start your hike to Snowdon. It's open since 09.00. But on your way back definitely you must pop in for a snack or a pint. My favourite drink here is a small cup of hot chocolate. The atmospheric interior attracts you and be aware if you stay too long you simply order another drink.

The cafe itself with its open fires, wooden floors and quirky furniture has maintained its original features, that date back to the 1800’s. Stefan and team are great hosts, that will envelop you in the history of the cottage. Recommended.

This place is a must visit after climbing Snowden. Great atmosphere with a cosy fire and original decoration. The coffee, hot chocolate and the Welsh cake were amazing (Americano was one of the best I ever had). Steffan (the owner) is the best part of what makes this place special. He is kind and very friendly, knowledgeable and very sociable. He made us feel home, offered a lot of advice, free parking, gave us a map and cookbook, climbing sticks and free cakes next day on the way home. Steffan went the extra mile expecting nothing in return and made our day a special one, this what I would call a perfect host. Thank you Steffan and keep up the positiveness!!!

Back in November 2022, we met the owner walking his dogs in the morning but didn't realise until he went inside his cafe at the end of our walk! He was very helpful and showed us the way to go, as it was our first time walking Snowdon. 7 hours later, after terenchal weather conditions to the peak had battered us- we stopped off to rest. It was advised to go back down by experienced hikers that day! Stefans hospitality was second to none, to all that entered his cafe. There were people there, like us, freezing and soaked through, but Stefan gave us all a hot drink each and a bin bag to put out wet clothes on for the drive home. The hot chocolate was gorgeous and just what we needed to give us that boost! It was a day I'll never forget. We got engaged at the top of Snowdon and found this little gem, which we will be back to visit again in the future :) Thanks Stefan!

Came down from Snowden our first time doing it we seen this Pub hours before we went up. We all agreed we would go here for a drink after we’d been up and came back down. So we come to this pub and are greeted by the man in the picture leaning over a baby gate in the door way blocking the entrance to the pub he was looking all smug. Now this is strange to me because if when you usually have a cafe or pub you want to go in to see the menu not stand outside talking to a man who looks like he sells model trains So without us being able to see any menu due to us being blocked by this man in the entrance to the pub I ask what drinks does he sell and he says oh just cider then he looks at the girls in the group and says you can come in but are you using the toilet? and they both said yes. So he says the toilets are 15 minutes down the road that way and doesn’t serve us. I was actually confused at this point of how rude he was to us after having a conversation with him for less than 30 seconds. Also from reading previous reviews he seems to have a problem with scousers and I am one so I’m guessing that’s why he turned us away must be a man united fan or just a melt who knows…

Me and Les with my dog Ozzy called today after our hike up Snowdon. Was felt very welcome off the owner and the 2 pints of Snowden craft lager was fantastic. Fantastic pub. If we had known it was this good on the way up we wouldn’t have made it up!!

A very charming and welcoming host. Stefan opened up the cafe early just for us. He was immediately warm and engaging. He made sure we had a hot drink in hand and a cake to continue the rest of our journey with. He also has incredible local knowledge and gave us a marked up map of places to go and places to avoid!

Sensibly pricey but how many times are you going to visit. Plenty of options & a well earned treat after a day's walk or lovely place just to ride out & treat someone

The best tearoom in Snowdonia by a million miles! Steffan the proprietor is the most wonderful host bar none! If you are in Snowdonia it is well worth making the effort to go here for tea and scones just for Steffan's company alone- never mind...

After me and my partner battled gale force winds and rain to climb to the summit of Snowdon we stopped off for a "quick drink". What we found here was quite honestly one of the best places either of us have ever visited. The host Steffan couldn't have been more welcoming, got us sorted with hot cider and coffee with some Bara Brith in front of a roaring open fire. The cottage is lovely with exposed beams and a really homely atmosphere, and Bryn the black Labrador just topped it all off. We bought a jar of local honey, and they also sell t shirts to commemorate your achievement. I cannot recommend visiting enough, after a hard day's walking it will be just what you need.
