A group of us climbed snowdon yesterday (09/09/24), some of the group asked if they could leave their belongings there which they did, Stefan remained open until we returned which was long after there normal closing time, he served us all drinks and brought us in to sit in front of the coal fire and warm up , this was greatly appreciated, such a lovely warm welcoming man, we are extremely grateful, thank you so much

Perfect place to get hot drinks after a long trek up Yr Wydffa / Snowdon. Cafe has a roaring fire and helpful, chatty staff who were an absolute godsend on a rainy day, providing towels and calling a taxi for us! Coffee was also exceptional quality and very strong!

Home from home. We all arrived like drowned rats, very tired but happy we had made it. The door was open, the real fire was burning, we were helped with our wet clothes, and given the warmest welcome. Steff is a superstar, we knew him for a few minutes but already we knew a lot of stories about each other. He opened his home, more importantly he opened his bar. Could not recommend this place highly enough! Oh and the sweatshirts are great too xx

Save your money and “go” elsewhere. We very happily bought a bottle of juice in order to use the toilets which are reserved for paying customers, but the proprietor would only let one of us (there are two of us) use the toilet unless we bought “one item PER customer”. I have never heard such a silly caveat. Not to mention: the one toilet didn’t even have soap — only hand gel. Edited to add: the owner’s unprofessional reply is all the more reason to take your business elsewhere. The toilets at the nearby train station are completely free to all.

Drinks were lovely after a long hike and loved that they were dog friendly but servers were moody and rude. When I asked for a drink on the way in to get my pint then just pointed at a sign explaining there policy rather than spoke to me. During the whole experience they were blunt and rude

After a long old walk up to the summit and back the sight of the café near the end was so welcome. Stefan was there to take orders and out came 2 lagers without delay. It's such a friendly place with Stefan switching faultlessly between Welsh and English. If your ever in the area it is worth the, rather steep to be fair, walk up the hill. His hot chocolate is legendary btw

Popped in here on the way down from snowdon ! My friend needed to use the loo so asked steffan if he could ! He said if we bought something he could Use it which was fair enough ! As soon as I spoke to order two halves of lager I could tell he didn’t like Scousers ! My friend is from Yorkshire so he was fine ! Steffan started talking in Welsh to his buddy or worker and laughing ! Then said to my friend to keep away from scousers as they will get him into Trouble 🤣🤣 I’ve been coming to wales since I was in primary school I’m now 54 so come on get a grip ! I read some earlier reviews and it seems I’m right he doesn’t like people from Liverpool but he doesn’t mind us spending our money !!!! Won’t be stopping here again .

Friendly, welcoming and a great end to our adventure in the hills. Stefan is pure salt of the earth, heart of gold. After a poorly planned trip up the mountain this man called me over and told me to leave my non-essentials with him. After getting back later than expected Stefan even called me a local taxi to my campsite as it was getting dark and even declined a tip. You'll come for the drinks and stay for the hospitality. My brothers and I had climbed Snowdon, fancied a well deserved drink after the climb so we went to head in and we got ushered out immediately (I didn't even get over the threshold) saying they were members only and they don't serve alcohol. He then awkwardly looked at 2 customers in plain view (who were drinking lager) and said thats coffee and had a good laugh at us. We were 5 gents, middle aged and a very quiet group. But this gentleman made us feel awful. Stay clear of this horrible man. Put a pic of our group up. Why do you think he wouldn't let us in?

Only to find Stephan advising they were closed when he was serving someone i think. My party of 4 were soaked - so had to continue into Llanberis . Signs saying "OPEN" all around. Update: Some feed back from Stephan as to why was "closed" 330/4pm Thursday 11 April 2024 - seems fair - but he just said we are closed and that was it! Would of contacted Stephan separately but website gone and no email address or number to call - apols if needed Stephan. Back in November 2022, we met the owner walking his dogs in the morning but didn't realise until he went inside his cafe at the end of our walk! He was very helpful and showed us the way to go, as it was our first time walking Snowdon. 7 hours later, after terenchal weather conditions to the peak had battered us- we stopped off to rest. It was advised to go back down by experienced hikers that day! Stefans hospitality was second to none, to all that entered his cafe. There were people there, like us, freezing and soaked through, but Stefan gave us all a hot drink each and a bin bag to put out wet clothes on for the drive home. The hot chocolate was gorgeous and just what we needed to give us that boost! It was a day I'll never forget. We got engaged at the top of Snowdon and found this little gem, which we will be back to visit again in the future :) Thanks Stefan!

Came down from Snowden our first time doing it we seen this Pub hours before we went up. We all agreed we would go here for a drink after we’d been up and came back down. So we come to this pub and are greeted by the man in the picture leaning over a baby gate in the door way blocking the entrance to the pub he was looking all smug. Now this is strange to me because if when you usually have a cafe or pub you want to go in to see the menu not stand outside talking to a man who looks like he sells model trains So without us being able to see any menu due to us being blocked by this man in the entrance to the pub I ask what drinks does he sell and he says oh just cider then he looks at the girls in the group and says you can come in but are you using the toilet? and they both said yes. So he says the toilets are 15 minutes down the road that way and doesn’t serve us. I was actually confused at this point of how rude he was to us after having a conversation with him for less than 30 seconds. Also from reading previous reviews he seems to have a problem with scousers and I am one so I’m guessing that’s why he turned us away must be a man united fan or just a melt who knows…

The kindest most welcoming place ever. Upon attempting Snowdon my step daughter decided it wasn't for her so she went back ( quite near the start ) and decided to sit in the cafe while we went up. Nearly 5 hours later we arrived back she was so happy about the people she had met and couldn't speak highly enough about the owner and his family and other customers. She even came out speaking some Welsh. Many thanks for the hospitality I'm just sorry we didn't thank them in person but was rather shattered and not thinking straight. Thanks again Ben x

We had an incredible experience at Penceunant Isaf on our way back from Snowdon summit stopping for a cold beer 😁The atmosphere was warm. The owner's stories added a personal touch that made the time with local beer even more special. Their anecdotes about the restaurant's history, Welsh language really enhanced our experience. It's not just a place to eat; it's a place to connect with the food, the people, and the stories that bring it all together. Fully recommended!!!

Perfect spot for a cup of tea (or something stronger!) to celebrate hiking snowdon. The team running it couldn’t have been more welcoming, inviting me in to wait by the fire while the loo was occupied!

Found this unexpected gem at the foot of the Llanberis path down from Snowdon. We were thinking of a stop in a pub in the village but this came first. The property dates back 100s of years and has the feel of a national trust...

We stopped here on our circular walk of Coed Dinorwig and Rhaeadr Llanberis. A charming cafe with lots of history and a warm cosy fire . Our girls loved playing the game the owner showed them how to play, and the hot chocolate was the best we had tasted on our whole trip . I'm so happy we stopped , hope to return in the future .

After climbing Snowdon with my family, I injured my knee on the way down. I had to sit outside this cafe while my husband and boys left me to get the car. It was torrential rain and freezing winds outside when I suddenly heard someone...

What an amazing place and service that you get. After climbing Snowdon a very close charity of mine. We then headed here only to be meeted by Stefan. He's funny, welcoming and caring. Any negative reviews clearly haven't the sense of humour required to understand how this little bar works. Loved every minute there and will be back. Go and meet the team and open your mind to a bit of banter!

Perfect location for anyone doing the Wales Coastal Path. Unpretentious, good quality food, great value for money, and very good coffee (if you need an Italian-quality espresso to follow a no-nonsense fry up). Don't waste your time schlepping up the hill when you could be dining here instead. Fish and chips available Fridays and Saturdays too.
