TCB Bolton - Unlimited Dining Experience in Bolton

Today was the first time I've visited this restaurant, and will definitely be my last...we were expected to know what to do regarding the robots...apart from a young woman, the staff are ignorant and very rude. The rice was uncooked and the donuts and chocolate cake were stale. The toilet were dirty. If you do visit this place I would recommend the warm sticky toffee pudding. And the price goes off your hight.... So if your a "short" family....make sure they adear to there rules....and only pay the lower rate 🤔 Unfortunately if your 10 year old is tall...they will have to pay full price

Did not like the fact that i celebrated my birthday just a very little candle cake or happy birthday on the plate I did not get. Foods and drinks very nice and fast

First time here on a Friday night. We went about 8pm and was very quiet, plenty of tables. Customer service was perfect, happy to explain how everything works and always a smile. Food was great, nothing bad to say at all. Also like the way they have a food waste charge, keeps wastage to a minimum so well done. Will definitely be back again 10/10

Family of 5 out for a birthday meal. Food was spot on service was prompt and attentive and a really relaxed atmosphere.

Sushi was meant to be Prawn Nigiri, received 3 sushi roll of prawn that came with *sesame* which I was not warned about Sushi was likely frozen (it was too cold) My friend found an hair on his Noodles Jelly had a thick layer that felt like chewing cling film This was the 3rd time coming here and food only got worst each time Crabby Soup was great though Robots were cute

Comedically bad. In fact I thought I was caught up in some Michael McIntyre prank. They've taken everything that works about a restaurant and changed it so it doesn't. The app doesn't work, the robots don't work, they're unable to cope with large group bookings, and the restaurant manager was deeply committed to petty rules no one else seemed to know existed.

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and something different with the robots, however restaurant was busy so delays in getting food so food went cold waiting for additional bits. Very good variety yo choose from but quality of food isn't that great for the price they charge. Nice for a change but not if you want nice chinese food - sorry.

Great experience, loved the robots! Friendly staff gave us the app instructions to order food to our table. Food wasn’t hot on arrival. Small portions which meant you could order more of same if you liked it or try something else. WiFi wasn’t quick enough to facilitate smooth running of the app. Tables weren’t cleared quick enough of dirty pots. Would have liked to have been offered more drinks but weren’t until near the end. Perhaps there could be a drinks selection added to the app? Worth a visit.

No stars I'm afraid. Travelled 90 minutes to treat my kids here. Table booked for 1830, arrived 5 minutes late as we couldn't navigate the way from the car park. No acknowledgement from staff on arrival. Went to the bar to order drinks while we wait, was told by a staff member to sit and wait. Tried to download the app while we waited, kept denying. Eventually staff came over. Was told they had a table, not a booth. The energy was negative and did not feel welcome at all. Expressed this to staff member who said we could have ordered drinks while we waited, but on walking to the bar was told to sit down! Then accused me of screaming and shouting (he's clearly never heard me angry!) Obviously we were annoyed but in no way were we shouting and screaming. Told not to return. So glad I did not pay the £10 deposit they ask for on booking. No customer service skills at all, robot would have been better. Very poor and disappointed family.

First time eating here since before lockdown, and was quite surprised to see how much it's changed, with it's little robot waiters and the self serve buffet gone. Got taken to our table and it was explained we had to order everything on the app. Went to the tcb website and it says search tcb dining on play store, so did that and it's no longer available, so asked one of the human staff members who directed me to a qr code near the entrance. So got on the app looked through the menu and thought this looks just as good as it use to be. Ordered our drinks and starters, drinks turned up mins later on the little robot waiter, great we thought. 10mins, no food, 15mins, no food, took 20mins for the starters to arrive, bearing in mind it wasn't exactly packed out, little robot arrived and whilst unloading the food it tried to do a runner with half of our food still on it, you literally get 60 seconds to unloading before it takes off. After getting the food started to eat and found it wasn't hot, it was just bearly warm, not a good start. Ordered mains took 15mins this time, but we were ready with two people to unload before it tried to do a runner with the food. Mains also just teppid, but you can still eat as much as you want, puddings where plain and simple. So if you like cold chinese food this is the place to come

Disappointing Experience I recently visited TCB Bolton and unfortunately, it did not live up to my expectations. The food was cold and clearly not fresh, which was very disappointing. Some of the meat tasted like it had been reheated, and the overall flavor was overly salty. The desserts were cheap and unappetizing, lacking any real quality or variety. To top it all off, our drinks took an astonishing 30 minutes to arrive, which really added to the frustration of the meal. Overall, I would not recommend this buffet. There are definitely better options out there for authentic and fresh Chinese cuisine. I hope they can improve in the future!

The restaurant was spotless, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. A fun highlight was the adorable Bellabot robot that served our food and even sang Happy Birthday! To top it off, they surprised us with a slice of birthday cake, complete with a candle. It was such a thoughtful touch that made the day extra special. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to come back soon!”

Normally I go to the TCB in Bury, but as my wife and I were in Bolton we thought we'd eat here as we love the Bury branch of TCB. After looking over the menu, they had some different items on the menu than Bury, so we were expecting some good food. We started with some of the same items that we regularly order at Bury, the food came and and we were very disappointed, the quality of it and the taste was nothing like that of the Bury branch! The salt and pepper chicken wings and ribs were horrible, they had a slightly sour/going off 'cheap' taste to them. The food never got much/any better from here! Considering this is the same restaurant chain as the Bury branch, we were very disappointed. The quality and standard of the food was nothing like that of the Bury restaurant and tasted like it was the cheapest quality food they could get and serve! The staff were pleasant enough, the restaurant decor itself was good, however the elevator up to the restaurant smelled like a toilet! Overall, not a good experience! Both myself and my wife left with a sickly feeling in our tummies. We won't be going back to the Bolton branch. However, we can definitely recommend the Bury branch as I have been there many times and it never disappoints!

First time yesterday since it has changed. Food was lovely. Order 3 items each per time but can order as many times as you want. Like a tapas chinese. Food was delicious and cane quickly on the robot. Staff always on hand to help. Will definitely be back

Worst Chinese place I have ever been - would not recommend! Food is vile, service is a joke! So slow on delivering your food. Would never go back ever again! Food is cheap, flavourless food.

Hadnt been here in about 10 years, but now food is brought to you on robotic machines. When its busy expect to wait 15 mins when you have ordered every time on the app. Portion sizes are very small, if you order salt and pepper chicken then you get 3 small bits which was gone in 30 seconds. Soft drinks are pricey, 3.80 for a pint of pepsi, didnt have a beer but if i remember, it was £5+ for a pint. Overall i liked the food and the robotic thing is kinda cool, but like i said when its really busy then expect long waiting times. Make sure to order lots on one order so you're not waiting for an item to complete your meal. I preferred the old Chinese Buffet where you would grab a plate and go up to the buffet containers and grab what you want. They must have stopped this because obvsiously people were eating loads and werent profiting as much from it. Bill come to £83 for 2 adults and one 9 year old. This included 5 Pepsis. UPDATE - I went 21st September at 5pm, I had seen that the price is now 27.99 per adult. They had also taken some items off the menu, and now you have to ask for curry sauce etc. Not worth 10.90 never mind 27.99. To make things worse, me and my partner were throwing up all night due to food poisoning. Chinese Buffet is the only thing we had that could be either contaminated or cooked wrong so, not very nice.

Not impressed after our toddler wanted to come here on the weekend and was delayed by traffic. Online opening times are incorrect. It is stated to be open until 16:00, but latest you can be seated is 14:30 and they stop serving food at 15:00. I understand there is usually a gap between lunch and dinner service, but this is huge and not obvious on their website or elsewhere. Just to point out this just an issue we've had with the Bolton branch, the St Helens one had been much better experience

The food choices are not enough as many food are same, just the sauce is different. If £25 per person, it is not worth but it is good if half price for birthday celebration. Will come again when birthday comes. And they don’t have sushi now

We absolutely love coming here, we’ve tried both Bolton and burys TCB but prefer Bolton, the food is always hot and tastes amazing and the staff are super friendly can’t wait for our next visit

New food items on the menu, Food was tasty. However, smaller portions are being served. You can order the item as many times as you wish so this isn't an issue. Staff were pleasant. However, taking your empty plates litterally when the food you've just taken off it was still on the fork was abit OTT.

The ambiance was inviting, with beautiful traditional Chinese decor and comfortable seating, though it got a bit noisy when crowded.

I was first try Chinese cuisine at here yesterday and I realized that the food was too spicyyy. I didn’t think that the Chinese was eat this spicy food every without stomach issues.

The experience was so good that I ended up visiting this place twice in one week! The food quality was absolutely brilliant, with a fresh and piping hot taste that exceeded my expectations for an all-you-can-eat restaurant. The staff were lovely and accommodating. However, the stars of the show were definitely the little cat robots, Bella bots, zooming around and delivering food to tables. It was a delightful sight to see and allowed us to sit back, relax, and enjoy our meal. I would highly recommend this place without any hesitation. It’s a definite 100% recommendation!

I decided to try this place for the first time on my birthday, and I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were incredibly helpful in assisting with the app for group ordering and even brought out a birthday cake. The robots added an extra level of enjoyment, especially for the little ones. The menu had a wide variety of options to choose from. We ordered 18 dishes at once, and they arrived quickly within 6-8 minutes. The only minor downside is that the portions are quite small, but the good news is you can easily order more. Overall, it was a great experience!

I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody ! Firstly the rotting smell coming from downstairs and in the lift is foul , food is nothing like on the photos shown on the app , also very small portions, the majority of the food is stale and hard. Barely any option of food , The food is also way overpriced and not worth £28pp what so ever . Service is average !so overall very bad review and very disappointing unfortunately

Great place good food love the servings Could be a bit cheaper honestly the drinks are really overpriced and for 27.88 you'd expect to have at least 1 free drink A lemonade that literally tastes like sprite for 3.60£ is a bit crazy

This is our "go to place" for any special occasion. We've had birthdays, anniversaries etc here. Staff friendly, good choice of food and cooked perfectly. My son enjoys the robots that deliver food, a great experience. Parking is available on car parks around the corner too. Can't wait for our next visit!

This place smells of raw sewage on entry which is disguised when you get to the bar. The novelty of being served by a robot is a quirky gimmick but this used to be a buffet, now you don't see the food or the portions until they arrive at your table. I used to like maybe a little rice, some chicken, a few prawns, maybe a spoonful of something I have never heard of, not much in case I didn't like it, but now you can't decide on your portion size. And you would be loathe to choose something you may not like. Not nice, and not cheap

This restaurant offers excellent value with small portions of delicious food, minimising waste. I particularly loved the robots serving the meals. In fact, I must admit that I was more excited about them than my own kids!
