Chaiiwala in Bolton

Deane road branch, I wrote a negative review on this place, after going there with my family. There were large groups of males sat around vaping inside, swearing and fighting all of which ignored by the staff. Then 4 left went round the back, within minutes came back and went straight to the toilets, clearly to use the drugs they just bought. Anyways, I wrote the letter review, they contacted me to ask me for more info and said someone would be in touch soon…. Nothing at all. No contact no nothing. Don’t pretend to care about customer experience when you don’t and merely ask for information to then ignore. Thaf branch has a very intimidating atmosphere.

charged me 14 pounds for small omelette, and beans which was cold as well as the tea , not worth it

I bought 2 teas this evening, as soon as i picked the cup up the lid came off and the tea went all over me and my car . Obviously the tea was hot and it burnt me. Called up the staff was apologetic nd offered me a free cup of tea but that doesn’t make up for the damage.

I guess Karak chai is the best in town with perfect sugar level, not too sweet. Staff is also kind and respectful. Only, sometimes tables are being a bit oily, especially during the rush hours.

Wanted to try this place for a while now, I was not disappointed, excellent food and perfect for all meal times. Will definitely be ordering more in the future

Don’t go into the actual restaurant it’s not worth it it’s very gloomy and the atmosphere is not great but the food is do a collection or delivery these options have always been good for me I did get a tea I don’t remember but it was pumped with a lot of sugar I couldn’t even drink it so I wouldn’t recommend tea from there or at least just say no sugar the food always great 😊 highly recommend the food.

Went there today with my family, terrible atmosphere and behaviours from other customers, which the staff were clearly ignoring. One booth had 5 teenage lads in the other 4, smoking vapes, staff clearly not challenging them or telling them to stop as everyone knows you can’t smoke or vape in such premises. They weren’t even eating or drinking there, just seems like they were using it as a meet up youth club Then 4 of them left for a few minutes walked around the back, 2 came back and immediately went into the toilets, I am certain to use the drugs they just bought. Again oblivious to the staff. Terrible terrible place. If you want to feel intimated by gangs of teenagers, vaping in your face and using drugs whilst the staff totally ignore it all…. This is the place to be….

The naans were burnt to a crisp! They could’ve made new ones, instead they sent out burnt ones!

Great chai and food, but when I visited was full of students vaping 🤨

The quality of the food is disappointing. It is hardly a representation of the street food one gets in Pakistan or India. Primary aim appears to be profits over quality. Further, I went to a modern looking branch on the outskirts of Blackburn. The stench coming from the toilets was nauseating. Update: 4/12 Reviewed directly at the vendor’s website over a week ago, but there’s been no response as of yet.

I had tea last night and left my phone by mistake. All day I've been looking for it thinking I have lost it. Day after I rang and brother Majid said he has the phone in the shop. I was relieved and stress free. Credit goes to Majid and the whole team at Chai Wala! Thank u guys!

Please bring back the keema and roti/ paratha.

Let’s start by saying the karakh chai is very good, however the food is nothing to write home about I ordered the kebab roll, bland, no spices taste, over powered by mint sauce Service was ok. Atmosphere, dead, we were the only sit down customer Overpriced

I ordered a Bombay bowl last night and it was excellent. However tonight I ordered rice and you sent chips. And the food was cold.

Love their sugar free karam chai and gajar halwa was delicious. Sitting area was quite big but cold.

Overpriced for small portions. Waiting time +40 mins for one sandwich and tea - staff not friendly at all. Must be the cheap stingy owner who just doesn’t want to employ more people - ashamed.

Disgusting food! Do not eat here! I was so excited to try out this food right in Bolton when it first opened up but omg once I had a bite of the chicken tikka sandwich I had to spit it out it was so disgusting! Also tried the masala chips that were obviously microwaved as they were stale and cold in the centre. The drinks were nice but nothing special, any powder milk from anywhere it is all the same. Awful food and awful service too. Will not be going here again.

Service very slow. Over 20 minutes wait for tea and halwa when not even very busy.

Absolute disappointment. The man on the counter was more interested in chatting to the woman at the back than providing a service. I ordered a simple Somosa chaat and ended up having a chana curry with a Somosa piece size of the top of my thumb. Shame to the Chaiwala chain.

I recently visited Chaiwala because many people suggested this place for amazing chai. I visited this outlet with my friend. We ordered chai and aloo paratha. The Tea was amazing like Indian tea and the cost was reasonable. However, when it comes to the food, the price was good but the quantity was too less for the price. For example, I ordered aloo paratha and was expecting a normal-sized paratha, but they served tiny aloo parathas, smaller than a Domino's small pizza. As for the ambience, it was like a very old place with a very normal and old feel.

Brilliant service, and a calm atmosphere. Very good service from Majid bhai.

I usually order butter chicken slaw toasties. They have cheese in them. The ones I got today did not have any cheese and were dry.

Extremely helpful staff (Majid). Accommodated a vegetarian wrap even though there were no options on the menu. Fresh karak chai as well.

Ordered Masala chips with only tiny bit off sauce. Where it ment to have onions n cheese. Also Ordered crispy Aloo Pakora's, Burnt n under cooked. Will not recommend anyone. Rather go to McDonald's.

The complaint that I had made in the morning about the delivery boy that he had given the order to the wrong person the day before yesterday, it was not the fault of the delivery boy but it was the fault of the person who received the order, I take back my complaint, thank you so much.

Got very good space for Dine in, got parking. Falooda, shakshuka and bombay sandwich are my personal favourites from chaii wala.

Good service, much delicious food

I paid £8 for a breakfast that had hard rotis, obviously from the night before and reheated beans, the only thing fresh was the eggs. Muslim businesses ripping muslim customers off then we cry about the condition of the ummah.

Constantly waiting 15/20 mins just for one or two drinks once waited over half an hour in the drive thru for barely anytbing . They very rarely actually have anything you ask for whenever I order something off the menu I’m always told they don’t have it or they’ve run out . Never order if your in a rush !!!

These franchises never miss. I have never been to a single one that has let me down to date

Chai wasn't great to be honest compared to other Chaiiwala's was nice and hot. The guy who served us was excellent. Decor is simple but lot of damp stains and very cold place.

Burnt pakora and one of the items missing as they didn’t have in stock but still charged for it very poor quality food.

Love their karak chai and butter chicken roll.

Absolutely pathetic portion sizes! Double Kati roll was literally the size of a Gregg's sausage roll. No sauce or salad, just a limp finger of tasteless meat. Won't be going back

Mohamed ( Chaiwalla Deane road) was attentive and provided excellent customer service. He was helpful to customers and demonstrated brilliance in his role. 👏✨👍👍

Wraps all great. Loaded fries a bit too wet and sweet (perhaps have the toppings to add to the dish on arrival rather than on the chips in transport) Other than that great food

Desi customers. Quick service but food needs to be piping hot- it was only luke warm.

Honest review of the business as a whole. I have to be honest this business does not do masala beans the way masala beans is suppose to taste. The portions are small and priced unreasonably. However, the chai is great and customer service is fair. I have had good and bad experience as I'm always trying different branches.

Ive had their whole menu , its really nice but its pricy , 2 pastries will cost you almost £6 . Portions can also be quite small . Im kinda torn due to these issues … i like it but for the portion and price , its hard to justify.

I used to go once a week at least.. for £20 I'd get a few items and be satisfied. My last order cost just short of £50.. and it was shocking. Everything was lukewarm (after a 20-minute delivery window it came 50-minutes), and the food was so tough I gave up halfway through. Not sure what has happened, maybe because they're expanding so much? Quality control is a large issue now. The wife loved her Chai Latte though.

I visited the Bolton drive thru for a Karak Coffee which had run out but Sam the worker was excellent she displayed the best customer service and is and should be used as an example for others. She took time out and helped me decide what drink to have and was absolutely lovely - honestly I will be going again and recommending the place due to the way Sam was thank you 😊

Ordered 17/08/2023 via Uber eats. Food was great, the butter chicken looked quite light on chicken but it was all hidden in one side / part of the bowl. The mango Falooda was large size but is what you would class as medium drinks cup so tasty but not good value. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Deanes Road branch. Food as per menu, only one person serving at front, making 6 drinks when we arrived, took a while to get served. The workers closed 30 mins before advertised so 11pm vs 1130 and went around told all customers and stood over everyone until they left. No warning before. Feel it's pricey. Not as clean as it used to be. Customer service is sliding down. Lots of alternative places I'd try instead

Not happy at all Charging me for some onions on the sandwich, and even told them I’m happy to pay extra but they would not honour it. Told me to come to the shop and pay for it. Well how can I? It’s a just eat order.
