Tattersalls Tavern in City of London, Westminster

I’ve been a local coming here for a long time and unfortunately due to such a small occurrence I feel the need to leave a review that reflects the pub. There is no genuine customer service here. The staff are only friendly with the people they know and do not give any time to those that they don’t. I’ve come a lot and never do I see any of the staff make any attempt at customer service other than ‘what would you like’ ‘paying by card?’ No welcoming no kindness, not even a thanks after making a purchase.

We entered a bit randomly looking for a place to have a meal and a couple of beers, and it couldn't have been a better choice. We ordered two burgers, the beef one and the chicken one and both were excellent. The beef one is perfect if you're looking for a classic flavour and the chicken one was great for a more modern take on burgers. There's a decent beer selection, with both local and international options. The atmosphere feels very heartwarming, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. If I'm ever back in the area, I'll surely come back.

I went here with my colleagues for leaving drinks and they opened the downstairs area for me upon request so we could have space to relax as there were around 15-20 of us. Really friendly staff!

£7.50 a pint. You've got to pay because of where it is

Safe spot for solo travellers looking for a quiet and relaxed location. Friendly staff and good food. Gets busy in the evening but everyone is nice and helpful.

Been there with friends after a stroll in harrods and had some food and drinks. The burgers were really good and quite affordable given the area. Ade, was very helpful with recommending us wine and beers. Def gonna come back when in the area!

Good atmosphere but very indifferent staff and inconsistencies galore. The gal behind the bar had a thousand yard stare and looked like she didn't want to be there at all, acting purely on function. Food was ok but despite being listed on the website, I was told there was no children's menu at all (what?!). I specifically came here because there was a kids menu posted online so we had to improvise. Is there no children's menu on Sunday or was the staff member uninformed? Also no sandwiches either on Sunday apparently. Maybe it's me who is in the dark and unaccustomed to the local scene, since I am an out of towner. Was also told by the same gal I could not swap a side salad for chips (why not?) on a menu item. The manager happened to be present and he approved the swap but why would that need managerial approval? Just a very odd scene, maybe I just caught them on an off day.

I really liked the English football tavern atmosphere, very cozy and the food was very delicious.

The girls at the bar are somewhat unfriendly and rude, the food is exquisite, the boy who brings the food to the table is very helpful.

Nice place, with a good quality of food and several dishes. The place is a little bit cold especially if you eat near the door that is directly placed on the street.

The staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. The wine was just drinkable but the food was inedible. The squid was like cardboard with some sweet nasty chilli sauce on top! Come on Greene King you can do a lot better than this!! You own so many pubs in great locations! Get a good chef who will buy fresh ingredients and then your customers will drink more with tasty fresh foods! Also, up your quality of wine.

We just visited this pub today afternoon and the girl behind the bar was so rude and impolite, she refused to give her name because I said I’m going to leave a review. She wear a glasses with light hair , short height. This happened on 21st of January 2025 , 1:30 pm . I strongly suggest the owner to remove her from the job . She is discussing and disrespectful . Do not visit that pub whit she is there .

The place has a classic English pub atmosphere! Had the best fish and chips in town! Highly recommend

Ein klassisches, typisch englisches Pub – kein 5-Sterne-Lokal, aber ein solider 4-Sterner mit fairer Preis-Leistung. Laut, Biergeruch, aber gemütlich. Man zahlt an der Bar, das Essen kommt schnell, schmeckt gut, und die Portionen sind großzügig. Perfekt für eine unkomplizierte Mahlzeit, wenn man in der Nähe ist!

Overall a mixed experience. The service was super friendly and quick. The ambience in the tavern was slightly rustic and fit in, but the toilets were a disaster! Completely dirty and it smelled like a sewer. The food was mixed, the bacon-wrapped sausages tasted good, the fish and chips were good, but the fish was mostly water and had no taste. It was the worst fish I've ever had at fish and chips. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio doesn't fit at all for what's on offer.

Very pretty pub a stone's throw from Harrods, there is an additional room in the basement to accommodate groups. The food is quite good, with a special mention for the Fish and Chips.

Low on staff and poor service. We waited for more than 30 minutes just to sit down on a clean table as no staff came to clean the table. No one came to take our orders and we ended up leaving like a few other people. Incredibly poor service.

The chili chicken nachos were hot and spicy just how I like them! Good selection of draught beers. Service was great 😊

We were in desperate need of a livener after experiencing Harrods so as I knew of here we came in just before 12 non on a Saturday. Good choice of tables. Served very quick - staff are a credit. Noise level just about right, yes there are TV on but not noisy at all. I also noticed a nice bar/seating area downstairs - it's very popular and not hard to see why at all!

The cheeseburger was not good and had no flavor. The cheese was artificial and not real cheese. Not recommended.

Great little boozer in Kensington and situated near to Kensington Tube Station and Hyde park. Great selection of drinks and also a good standard pub menu

Bad attitude of staff. Very disappointing

The food was quite good (except fot tge glutten free bread which was rubbery). Unfortunately the staff at the bar were rude and made changes to our plates that were not asked for. The bar was also understaffed which may explain why the staff were in such a bad mood. Asked for butter and took them 20 minutes to bring it, and by then my potato was cold. It's a shame as it's a lovely place.

Horrible experience. We have been here a couple of times before and appreciate its a bit of a tourist trap near Harrods but we found it to be ok. Last weekend however when we visited with our neice the food and service was atrocious. Simple bar food of steak sandwich cod goujons and halloumi wrap plus chips took well over 30 minutes to arrive and when it did all food including chips stone cold and inedible. After complaining food taken away with very bad grace by surly server and later returned slightly warmer with the comment that the sandwiches were supposed to be cold..?! Another staff member later asked us if the food was ok and when we said no she just walked away. Interesting take on customer service! The food quality was certainly worse than on our previous visits even if it had been served at a proper temperature and if I was Greene King I would be undertaking some serious retraining here. Quite unacceptable.

Went for a quick pint. Good service, decent price, does the job. Got seating too which was a positive given the time visited. Would go again.

An old haunt of mine from my days of working at Brent Walker and popping into the pub at lunchtime. Popped in here yesterday after a shopping trip to Harrods with my son. We booked a table in advance and when I asked at the bar they offered us a table in the middle (none available so not reserved!) Or downstairs no bar. I decided to take a table for four by the window. Menu is limited but reasonable we both had steak with chips and drinks. Portions rather small but tasted fine. A reasonable selection of alcohol free drinks especially the Warners gin. A pleasant meal.

The steak sandwich is not really a steak sandwich. So much bread and a couple of slices of beef. Rip off really. The beer is good and so is the atmosphere, left feeling hungry.

Best Sunday roast in Knightsbridge. We came here on a Sunday, we've been lucky to find a table as it was very busy but the service was super fast and the staff super friendly. The classic Sunday roast experience if you've never done it before.

An oasis from the hustle and bustle of the area around Harrods. 1871 pub with great Pub grub and some interesting sides . Staff couldn’t have been nicer.

Service, drinks and atmosphere is good but worst Nachos ever. Made with the spiciest corn chips and sans cheese so I guess that’s a first! Not recommended

Shocking experience. Wasn't told of the 1/2 wait for my meal. Wen it did arrive the mushy peas an mashd spud was cold. The meat pie and garlic cheesy bread burnt. Totally uneatable meal. The staff I spoke too didn't care

A bustling pub in Knightsbridge. Full on a Tuesday night with the football on the TV. Staff were friendly but the food was terrible. We had multiple dishes and all were cold or dry or both. If you are after a nice pub meal look elsewhere.

Went around 2.30pm and ordered steak sandwich, fish and chips, beef burger and the pie. Waited around 50-60 mins for the food, when to the counter to check with the staff after waiting for 40 mins and was told that the steak sandwich needed more time. When the food came every part of the sandwich was cold

This place is a cozy and lovely british pub where we had lunch after visiting Natural History Museum and Harrods. Staff there is so kind and food was really tasty. We ordered the traditional fish and chips and it was delicious. Highly recommended!

Service a little slow but not bad

Drinks are good and cheap compared to an average in that area. However, food isn’t tasty at all. Ordered flat iron and asked it to be red, but the cooked it as well done. I had a feeling I was eating rubber; and the price for that was almost 18£. Totally unacceptable. There are much tastier pubs for such a price.

Beautiful tavern, cozy atmosphere. Nice english style. However, it's a pity that they were quite rude with the service. Our daughter asked for a fanta but they didn't have one. I had to translate, but that was already too much for the waitress. An extra question in English was also too much. Regrettably. Otherwise definitely 4@5 stars.

The food was terrible. I ordered a steak and ale pie with chunky chips. I couldn’t even finish the pie, as most of the “meat” was just fat. I only found one genuinely edible piece of meat in the entire pie, which was worth more than 15 quid. The pastry was just okay, but the flavour of the gravy was honestly the only tasty part of the meal. It was hard to enjoy the gravy, however, as every single piece of meat was fatty and horrible. One of the pieces wasn’t fatty. But tasted disgusting, like it was off. Had to spit so much out. The chips are clearly just the same as Wetherspoons, so nothing special, and were quite cold. I also ordered the “crispy” smashed potatoes, which were neither crispy, nor smashed. For 7 quid, I received 4 small new potatoes with a small amount of Parmesan on top. Tasty, but the texture was slimy and soft. Not worth it. My girlfriend ordered the cod sandwich, which arrived cold and had very little fish inside. We both found it one of the worst restaurants we have ever been to. Not even to mention the fact that we had to wait for 45 minutes before our food came, which in fairness, was explained to us when we ordered, but to wait as long as we did, and receive cold, fatty, poor quality food, which left me still hungry, is very disappointing.

The chicken BLT was just an unappetising very sparse filled sandwich served between two slices of thick cut dry bread ,doorstops would be a good description . So didn’t resemble a BLT in any shape or form. The fish goujon sandwich also very sparse with the filling. All served with a strange slimy salad. The portion of French fries was variable on two plates. We have eaten in a Green King pub before and enjoyed the food that is why we chose this pub. On hindsight we should have complained at the time but my friends and I didn’t want to spoil our day out.

Adelaide gave us the best service

We rocked up to the pub for the England vs Netherlands semifinals, and it was a fantastic experience. George and the team provided amazing service throughout the evening. We were a large group, and thankfully, our seats were reserved and ready for us. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, especially with England's victory adding to the excitement. Overall, it was a top night out!

Fantastic experience watching the football, George was an incredible host and barman to all customers, me included!!! If I had a pub and needed someone to take care of things, I know who I would be calling! 🚀 🚀 🚀
