Been a regular since Simon opened the place, now under new management and I wish them every success, I really do. However now offering regular or large cups…really? Too corporate, too Costa/Starbucks, not necessary. Then by mid Sat morning pastries gone! Constructive feedback intended. Good Luck!

The best coffee we've had for a long time. Usually we don't like drinking from cardboard cups, but their coffee was so good we didn't notice. The Portuguese tarts were also the best I've had. The savoury filled croissants also looked very good.

This is a great take out pizza and pasta service, not an extensive menu and sometimes an interesting choice of toppings on the pizza but they are always delicious. Order online and pick up at the allotted time. The food has always been ready at that time, it's super efficient so don't be late! If there's room you can eat in at the long shared tables, if not it's a take away but the food is well packaged to do this. You can also eat in the Harbour Club nearby, a small membership fee is required but don't let that put you off.

Tatams now have a pizza restaurant which is directly opposite called Tavola. Myself and family visited last week on the final day of our holiday. Sadly the experience wasn’t the best. Apparently you need to order pizzas online and arrive at your allotted time which to be honest I didn’t expect from a small village. Myself and family (including a 4 month old baby) sat and waited in the window seats for a table to be available. I asked for my daughter milk to be warmed which came out like absolutely boiling hot, i then asked for something to cool down in and was offered a plastic pint glass and handful of ice…… and Informed “we don’t have a bucket” After standing in the only toilet for 15 mins trying to cool her milk in the sink I had to leave as others were waiting for the toilet. Sat down at our table to see the couple next to us with a jug of water. After spending the best part of £100 on 3 pizzas, a tub of coleslaw and a round of drinks we left. Email sent to the team explaining my experience, initial email responded to and offered coffees and pastry from tatams for our journey home but as we had already left I emailed back twice asking if we could accept the kind offer next year when we re visit portscatho my emails have been ignored. Not the best family friendly place.

It's a very simple menu, basically pizza, pasta, salad served with either beer, wine of soft drinks (and just a few choices for each) but the food is lovely and the service so friendly. We wandered to the restaurant on a Friday night (they only open for a few nights during the week) only to find that they were very very busy with orders (mostly for take away) and in fact we should have booked ! The team were great and squeezed us in - we enjoyed a beer and wine whilst we waited (they have several long communal tables) but the pizza was worth waiting for. The bill came to £46 (that did include a couple of large beers and two glasses of wine) so its not cheap but we thought well worth it.

Phileas Dog here again. This place gets 5 woofs from me. The lady serving me was magic and really friendly and I got a gravy bone and drink. My mummy and daddy had a well made cappuccino each with option of a decaf. The pastries were baked locally and I can recommend the custard tart. You can find the place on the slipway at the bottom of the hill near the harbour just find the Plume of Feathers pub and keep walking down the hill I sat on my Daddies knee and enjoyed a great view over the harbour , cove and the sea on the stools and seats outside. There are some loos nearby but if u use them ask where the light switch is cos my mum couldn't find it and it was a bit dark All in all we all REALLY like this place and will be back before we move on Top tip to enjoy the view on a sunny day as the sea looks really blue Five big woofs for this doggie friendly place

On holiday in the local area and booked a click and collect slot on Saturday evening from Tatams Taverna hatch on the slipway. Ordered the Forager pizza and chicken shawarma with some Cornish lagers. Lovely service, absolutely delicious food, full of flavour. Best pizza we’ve had for taste and texture with a light crispy base and beautiful topping. Also piping hot. This is actually two places in one and it really made our holiday in Portscatho. It serves really good artisan coffee in the morning from an arty and very friendly beachside hut. Portuguese custard tarts and handmade almond biscuits were incredible. The view from the wooden sea-fronted leaning bench is out of this world. It catches the morning light and it's like you are on a boat when the tide is high. In the evenings this place opens in the building next door to offer stonebaked pizzas and wood-fired kebabs. We had a vegetable shawarma kebab and forager (mushroom & truffle) pizza, and they were both top notch and tasty. Ordering is online and you collect from the window at your time slot. We ate on the leaning bench which we had to ourselves. It was beautiful, morning and night. Thank you Tatams :)

Popped in here on a cold November night with some good friends. We ordered 4 pizzas and some fries. The seating arrangement encourages a bit of friendly conversation with other diners (Wagamama style benches). We had a couple of bottles of red which were very reasonable! Notable highlight for me from their menu is the ‘Forager pizza’ that is not just your standard mushroom pizza. Oh no. They have applied a hefty slurp of truffle oil that made it (forgive the hubris) the FINEST PIZZA I have ever tasted. And I have eaten Pizza in Rome and Milan. The staff are humorous, welcoming and attentive too. Finally I want to know where they get their copper water carafes from ‘cos they are funky as fk.

Dear bearded-fellow in Tatums coffee bar; cheer up a bit eh?! We ordered 3 hot chocolates at £3 each and my joke (how dare I joke!) seemed to set his mood lower and once we had found a seat they were barely luke-warm. Maybe the machine has an "annoying customer" setting? There was a large queue and so by the time we’d managed to complain, they would have been stone-cold. He let someone else finish our order, turned to the side as if to dismiss us and then propped a foot up and gazed at the horizon with his large manly binoculars! We were a party of 8 but did not return again. Honestly, you’re in the hospitality business, so surely a smile isn’t so hard? We also visited The Hidden Hut, whom I understand also owns Tatams and despite it being very busy, they were superb.

The actual establishment is very nice. The only food that I have eaten here, as a take out, was a margherita pizza. I have tried the same one 4 times now, and it is delicious, however it is far too salty. The view from the balcony is lovely, as it overlooks Gerrans Bay. What I hated was people smoking on the balcony. It ruined the whole experience of sitting out, having a drink, on a sunny early evening, with family, only to have to leave due to the awful stench of cigarette smoke and running the risks of passive smoking! I want to smell the sea, and fresh air, not carcinogenic smoke. At one point 7 people, situated in different parts of the balcony, and close to us were all smoking. We could have sat inside but we chose to sit out outside, as it was a lovely evening.

After the many good reviews and the excellent coffe shop, decided to try the pizza restaurant. The service was very good and the atmosphere ok but the pizzas were terrible. Much better ones are available in the supermarkets. I had a pepperoni and it was very thin and chewy. The outside edge was burnt black and could not be eaten. The FEW slices of pepperoni were so thin you could almost read through them and totally randomly spread around. One large slice had absolutely no pepperoni slices at all. I was really not impressed.

Having been a fan of the Hidden Hut for a number of years, we enjoyed returning to the Taverna which is a warm and welcoming member of the family. Two large tables inside provide a communal eating environment which makes for a friendly dining experience. The pizzas are of excellent quality and value, offering classic flavours with a twist made from fresh ingredients. The staff are friendly, but as there is no table service, they are not intrusive to your meal but always on hand if you have questions or any additional needs. Considerate of dietary requirements, they were able to offer me alternatives to enhance my experience. Would recommend if in the area. Wonderful to at last have a trendy little coffee bar in the village. Perfect if you're happy with an overpriced tepid drink of indeterminate type (flat whites/lattes/cappuccinos all look and taste the same except there's half as much flat white) served with indifference or downright rudeness. I was so appalled by the experience on Saturday (btw to-go involves putting your own lids on and a cardboard cup carrier being thrown across the counter) that I couldn't resist coming back again on Sunday. And it was worth it - the customer ahead of me had his drink request curtly refused as being "too weird". I'll be visiting The Boathouse just up the hill from now on!

Yes we visited Tatams and the coffee, cakes and views are all still spectacular. Yes we also ate at The Taverna and found the pizzas to be, well, pizzas... there's not much you can do to a pizza to distinguish it from its peers. Suffice it to say that amongst pizzas this one was pretty good and smoked lamb is most certainly an interesting departure from normal topping fare.

If the sun is shining this is the place to have a coffee or cake. Fab views. Would recommend we did not try the taverna which serves pizzas.

We were met by a very friendly man who was very knowledgeable about everything he served. My partner said his coffee and brownie was lovely. I went for a hot chocolate, it was definitely the best hot chocolate I’ve ever had, very good quality. Now that’s a statement! See you next time.

What a shame, read some great views but our visit was disappointing with a poor quality pizza - base was soggy, limited ingredients of poor quality. Staff were friendly but unfortunately did not make up for the food. Tatams coffee house is what they do best.

Tatams coffee house is amazing, great use of old public toilets. Great coffee, really nice staff. Taverna not so great, pizza poor, cheap ingredients, understand it is owned by Hidden Hut (which is fab) clearly trading of their reputation.

This evening restaurant, open Thursdays-Sunday evenings, is great. High wooden benches, industrial interior look, and the menu is great. Pizzas, Ribs, Grilled Chicken, all served ready to take away but you can eat in on one of the 3 benches. No licence but you can...

Great food in a lovely little restaurant. Came two years ago and exactly the same high standards. Reasonable prices.

It was our last dinner in Cornwall after a week trip around the area and it couldn’t be better than it was! The blue hair waitress is really nice and extremely kind. The pizzas were perfect!

From the outside the place doesn’t look great, this place was recommended to us, the food was excellent, fresh tasty unctuous. Can’t wait to go back. Thanku.

We managed to get a walk-in spot outside on a Saturday lunchtime (it’s October so not summer levels of busy but they still had a steady flow of customers and no tables inside so I would absolutely recommend booking). It was a fairly warm day for October and we were dressed appropriately so we sat outside and it was a great choice for us. The sun made its way round the neighbouring building half way through our food and it’s quite a sun trap. As for the food well we couldn’t fault it, everything was delicious, the flavours clearly thought about. I had the fish stew and my partner had the Thai scallops… we both said we would have those exact dishes again because they were so good! The desserts were also amazing, if you love profiteroles these were probably the best I’ve ever had!!
