We have eaten here twice this week and PLEASE don’t let the fact it looks like a basic diner fool you. The food is fantastic, as good Italian food as you’d get in Italy. If you don’t eat here you will miss out.

We ate here before watching the excellent Little Women. It's great value for money and the food was much better than expected. I would recommend the film and meal deal.

Had a meal at the Savoy restaurant and couldn’t be happier, ordered the Steak which was cooked to a perfect rare and was presented very well. My partner ordered a pizza she was amazed at how good it tasted the sauce was tangy but sweet and not too cheesy. All the staff were great and very attentive. Thanx guys we will be back

I’ve been coming to the Restaurant for a couple of years now and the menu has recently changed and it’s the best I’ve ever seen it! There is so much variety for people to choose from and everything I’ve had has been delicious! Staff told be recently that there is a new head chef, anyone who hasn’t been in recent months should definitely give the new food a try!

Had a 2nd visit to this restaurant Fri evening and we were as equally impressed as we were on our first visit, except this time we discovered there is an upstairs! Ordered a mouthwatering pizza and three sides and there were no problems in asking for them all to be served at the same time so we could share. The food was delicious, the wine was lovely and sweet, the cyder (I'm reliable informed) was very tasty and the service was very good. Last time we had the meal deal as we also saw a film, this time the bill came to £30 for us both which I thought was good value considering the quality of the food.

Not a bad menu for the size of place, pizza's not brilliant, but burgers and steak (again for the price) are pretty good and plentyfull. Seating comfy with plenty of room and nice atmospher. Meal deals, meal and cinema, are good value

I suppose the cinema is still okay but avoid the restaurant as it is truly appalling. Last night the food was so bad it would have been funny, had it not been so expensive. I ordered a chilli, for the waiter to 'recommend' a bean chillininstead of meat. When it came they'd basically taken a tin of tomatoes, added to a tinned bean salad and presented it to me. It didn't taste cooked, it had no flavour. There wasn't even any damn chilli in it. I don't know what the hell it was supposed to be. I'm not vegetarian, I would have happily ordered something else if they had asked me but no, they decided to whack together a bowl of cack for me. Also the pepsi tasted rank, my partner complained to be told 'tough it's all there is'. Oh, and his salad was full of rotten old leaves. Hilariously we were the only ones in there, just imagine the scenes of chaos and devestation otherwise??!! I mean, it took over 30 mins just for our food. There is no way I'm visiting their new cafe/restaurant when it opens, I cannot see how it will be any better. I am just not prepared to waste my hard earned money. I'm voting with my feet & wallet, I'll be eating at Newlyn Filmhouse in future, it's much nicer and more professional. Avoid the Savoy restaurant at all costs!!!!!

This restaurant has a meal and movie ticket for only £12.95. The menu is quite limited with Pizza's and Burgers and the odd chilli or nachos thrown in but it was one the tastiest Calzone I've had. I would advise to book as it's not that big. Service was good. Been a few times now and would go again.

Amazing gem of a place where you can eat a meal before or after a movie. Staff are absolutely lovely and sooo polite. Food is good I had the burger with blue cheese and my wife had chilly and it was lovely. You can also take your wine into the movie theatre. Really great and awesome value plus this is the oldest continuously open cinema in Europe

We had a lovely meal at The Savoy cinema, for £10.95 you had a choice of a main course and adult cinema ticket each. I had a pizza and my husband had the homemade burger with side salad and chips, which were both delicious. The barman was very attentive and polite and we were served very quickly, we shared a bottle of house wine at a price of 13.95, very reasonable and lovely. Our seats in the cinema were reserved for us, so no need to hurry, all I all I would definitely recommend for a relaxed chilled evening with lovely food. Will be going back.

Den and I visited the Savoy to see the film What I did on my holiday, we booked the meal deal, ordering rib eye steaks with all the trimmings. Service was a little slow but when it arrived we were not disappointed, cooked exactly as we had asked. The staff were very helpful from the lady who took the booking to the waiting staff, all very pleasant and helpful. I think it was good value for money, the film included and two rounds of drinks for under £35.00

I usually manage to visit Penzance during a storm coming down by sleeper train from Paddington. My visit in December was no exception by midday on the Friday it was fairly windy and as the afternoon dragged on it was blowing a full gale. As a change I tried the Renaissance restaurant in the Wharfside Shopping Centre but it was empty bar a works christmas party for six women. So I walked up to the Savoy Cinema and the rather excellent Hollywood Pizza that is attached to it. I have been before and the staff are friendly and the pizza is really good. The menu is film themed which is quite fun and your pizza will be named after a film that has some connection to the topping - e.g. Chicken Run has chicken breast as the main meat element. Popeye is my favourite and has Spinach (no surprise there) Grana Padano, a Free Range Egg and Olives. Mercifully no one bats an eyelid when I ask for my two favourite toppings - don't laugh - Pinapple and Sweetcorn to be added. There is a restaurant upstairs but I normally have it as a takaway and go and sit overlooking the harbour munching on my Pizza. The base is light but substantial, (I've watched my pizza being made) and the other ingredients taste fresh. I've often had to queue but do so quite happily if needed. They do other stuff: wraps, fries, salads etc. even desserts but for me it is the pizza every time. This is a fantastic treat for me and I wouldn't really feel a trip down to Penzance would be complete without a visit there.
