Who needs Sunday roast when you got Sam’s . I chose Sam’s for my 70th Birthday lunch and it was beyond my wildest expectations .We were a party of 6 plus my Granddaughter ( maybe but a couple more high chairs ! ) we grazed the menu between us . Calamari stater very good and mackerel pate excellent . Moules fritte & monkfish mains excellent too. Pizza was impressive . All in all a splendid experience . Highly recommend and need to book as was so busy on Sunday

We have just had a lovely lunch….pizza and beer sat right on the beach….brilliant. Lovely staff and great food. Totally recommend. Sorry but because I’m sixty I didn’t take a photo of my food so you’ll have to take my word for it😁. We will definitely return.

A delicious meal after our 5 mile walk along the coastal path. Great service, tasty cocktails and wonderful food. Our group of 7 had every seafood option on the menu and we were very satisfied. Highly recommended.

The staff was very nice. The food was delicious. I had crab, mackerel pate and truffle fries.

Lovely restaurant with sea/ beach views. Warm atmosphere and good menu with wide choice and daily specials. We sat inside but they have outside tables on the beach. Scallops and mussels were delicious. Everyone happy. Feedback: website is out of date and when booking online you get limited time on table. We were asked to move table when we were about to start dessert. Restaurant could have let us finish dessert and waited 5mins to reset table for next reservation. Or let us know of 1 hr 45 timeslot on arrival. Good to think about how valued your customers feel. All in all a great place with friendly service and we will be back.

Nice restaurant in an awesome location, we ate here recently & all thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the food was very good (as a non fish eater a few more non seafood dishes would be a bonus though) & the service was good overlooking polkerris beach, we were all really enjoying the experience until when our dessert was served we were asked to move table as the table we were on was needed for another booking, this really marred the experience as I feel this is massive faux pas in the service industry, I would have given 4 stars if this hadn’t happened but I have given 3 due to this incident as it is poor customer service in my opinion.

Wonderful food at a great restaurant on a wet and windy day. Recommended by a lady in a local art store and lived up to this. The bouillabaisse was fantastic and a great steak too. Thanks to the really friendly young man who served us.

We discovered Sam's in October. Unusual sunshine amazing soft shell crab and utterly delicious fish... back in June and will be making a point of driving over from Newquay

Average tasting and overpriced food. Unfriendly and inattentive server. I’m surprised this place has reviews as good as it does, (unless we were just unfortunate on the night we visited?). Perhaps during the day it is special due to the beach views- but for an evening meal when you can’t see the beach anyway, there are much better options out there.

Fantastic location. Great focaccia. Nice salad leaves. Pretty presentation of food. Food is a big let down - it lacks flavour. Sardines not fresh so we left them - and we weren’t asked about our meal. Pizzas lacked flavour. Disappointingly limited menu, the starters appear on the main courses.

We enjoyed a birthday lunch.Although was awful with torrential rain the restaurant was warm and welcoming. The staff were friendly and despite the weather the views excellent.The service was efficient and the food tasty. An enjoyable birthday lunch celebration . Thank you.

Late lunch, my wife and l ordered bouillabaisse. No fish just prawns and mussels ! Complained and was told they had barely any fish. At the price being charged we refused the food absolute rubbish ! Young lady who turned out to be the manager kept apologising. SAM where are you ! You should be sorting this kind of thing out. It’s happened before with other dishes, been here a few times. Food can be great but when it’s crap it’s crap. If you don’t have the ingredients then don’t offer it.

What a wonderful position. Unfortunately, having booked a window table, the fact that the next table was occupied meant that we could not use the seats on both sides of our table due to space issues. Food perfectly tasty, especially seafood, but not over imaginative. A safe bet for a very pleasant meal.

We came here based on TripAdvisor reviews for a quick, early supper with the family. The food was delicious, with an interesting choice of pizzas particularly. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and the staff were friendly and helpful. Parking is a challenge, but at this time of year I was able to drop the family off before taking the car back up the hill to the car park.

We are so used to the struggle to book a table here that it came as a surprise to find it so quiet for a Saturday evening. We were early at 5:30 as this was more suitable for the company we were in but even when we were leaving a couple of hours later it was still very quiet! The service, as always, was exceptional. We all had different starters (Sardines, Mussels, Goats Cheese, Scallops and Black Sausage) and all dishes were very good. We all opted for Slow Roast Belly of Pork for our main course. Unfortunately, the promise on the menu of 'Crispy Crackling' didn't come to fruition which was disappointing. Everything else on the plate was very good. One of the attractions of eating here is the location and I was surprised that on a dark winter evening that there are no lights outside so you can appreciate where you are. I will be inclined to give it a miss in future on an evening until the Spring when the evenings become lighter.

Super spot . Only stopped for a tea and coffee but lovely to sit overlooking the beach and they have a great selection of wines.

Lovely little restaurant on the beach. The portion size if I’m honest was too much for me on this occasion but the quality was good and the service was also great. We were also able to have our dog join us for the dinner as well.

Friendly and reasonably quick service. Everyone enjoyed their food choices and the presentation was good.

Had a beautiful meal. However, it was incorrectly delivered, had extras missing, which had to be added later, and when the bill came, it had a £38bittle of wine missing, which we highlighted (could have gone without paying for), but this wasn't recognised. After our very positive dinning experience at Sam’s in Fowey, it was an easy decision to try Sam’s on the beach. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but the lunch time experience with a view of the sea was worth it. The seafood salads and surf and turf were very good. Friendly staff and a good restful atmosphere. Recommend you book to avoid disappointment.

The food was very good, above average but the seating was uncomfortable, views from inside blocked by parasols on tables outside, could also use some air-con. Table service was excellent, staff were all lovely.

Visited this gorgeous place August 2022 with hubby and son during very hot weather. Sitting out on the ramp under the orange parasols, sipping Pimms and cocktails with ambient music playing, I could have been on the beach in Ibiza, it was heaven. Food gorgeous too. Will definitely be back.

Everything here is awesome, Seafood is incredible, service was wonderful and the setting in front of the bay is just beautiful and doggy friendly too. The Ocean Trout and Creme Freche on Flatbread (starter off the specials board) was one of the best things I have ever eaten! Followed by Thai Mussels for mains which were also really tasty

The best Lobster and Fries I've ever had! So fresh and generous portions. Fast service despite busy restaurant, topped off with lovely view of the beach - thank you!

Unfortunately we had a negative experience here. Was with my husband and our food came out separately, twenty minutes apart. Apparently a mix up with the kitchen. When my husband’s pizza eventually arrived, it had a long hair cooked into it. They replaced it but this took another ten minutes and the replacement pizza was burnt. He just ate it but we felt pretty awful by then. No real apology, and meal wasn’t cheap. Nothing offered to compensate.

Delicious delicious delicious! Bouillabaisse to die for topped off with the most beautiful sunset! Filled my heart as well as my belly. Do it, you won't be disappointed.

Tolle Lage, leckeres Essen und sympathischer Service! Ich hatte Jakobsmuscheln (8x für 24£) und meine Frau Fisch des Tages (Scholle). Jeweils sehr lecker. Leider konnten wir nicht drinnen sitzen. Eine Reservierung wäre auch unter der Woche abends wichtig gewesen. Aber draußen war trotz Nieselregen und Abend echt schön! Einfach tolle Aussicht und die Kinder haben noch ein bisschen im Sand gespielt. Auch toll bei kleinen Kindern: es gibt einen Wickeltisch!

Wow wow wow this place is special and when we got back to our hotel which was the harbour hotel we told other guest to go, and one guest booked for the next day, the view is beautiful the sunset was magical but the food was so fresh and exceptional and the staff were great , I would be a regular if I lived near by amazing

Excellent service and food, one of our favourite places to eat and our last visit didn’t disappoint. Lobster with a tarragon sauce, served with some salad and fries was delicious, mussels to start superb. Calamari and linguine seafood hit the spot! After reading many happy reviews, we booked in advance and were excited for an evening dinner at Sam's, only to be disappointed. We've travelled from London to enjoy the Cornish coast and was sat next to the open kitchen with no sea view. The heat from the kitchen was unbearable, and we asked to be moved. The waiters were very polite and moved us to a table outside. The restaurant is literally on the beach with stunning views. It's very laid back, so don't expect tablecloths or comfy chairs. Overpowered seafood linguini with oregano and overcooked pasta. Mushroom tagliatelle swimming in oil and served with overcooked linguini pasta. Pizza was burnt. Sad to say, but the meal was very below standards and highly overpriced with young and inexperienced staff. Restaurant facilities are in need of renovation, looking tired and dirty. Such a shame. Strip the menu back and get a professional chef in to cook simple, honest seafood dishes.

We decided to have the meal after our simple wedding ceremony at Sam's On The Beach, Polkerris Beach. All of the staff were so lovely, so friendly, and treated us like royalty. They even took some photos of us to put on their social media platforms. It was all in all the most glorious day and one that was made so precious by the staff there. Couldn't fault it. All of the staff were wonderful, gave us a drink on the house and Millie was just wonderful. This place is a hidden gem with beautiful food and beautiful people xxxx

Very nice food and good portions, maybe not quite as nice as they think, but a sizeable cut above most places in the area. The place was packed all night so we had to eat outside which was cramped and a little uncomfortable. View is amazing and made a good attempt at making up for it. Staff were friendly but a little rushed, sure if it was less packed it would have been excellent.

Been here many times and always had great food but the prices are insane now £30 for surf and turf and £20 for a salad! Makes eating as a family unachievable for alot of people. Also understaffed so service wasnt great unfortunately.

The food at this restaurant was absolutely delicious, good value for money with massive pizzas. Very attentive waitresses ensuring our meal was amazing. Lovely setting overlooking the sea. I was a bit disappointed when the manager informed us we could not have anymore drinks only an hour and a half after we had arrived due to her having counted the intake of the day already. It made us feel rushed as we were one of the last bookings. Despite this i would recommend giving Sams a go, but perhaps book a bit earlier!

Family pitstop for a lite lunch. My wife had the most amazing, juicy, gigantic, plump, and tasty mussel starter. My son and I had a portion of chips each 🍟. We finished up with a flat white and a mammoth hot chocolate with all the trimmings - cream, marshmallows, and flake.

Mainly fish and sea food cooked brilliantly , served by very good staff in a great location. We were there to celebrate the wedding of some friends and couldn't recommend this place more.

Had dinner here with my family, the food is amazing, I had chicken & mushroom tagliatelle and it was the nicest pasta dish that I've ever had, the view is stunning, we went at sunset and it was so beautiful 😍 we will be back next time we are in Cornwall

Nice view but got a pepperoni pizza for 16 pound expecting a nice fairly large pizza but got a pizza not much bigger then my hand and only had 2 slices of pepperoni and the pizza was not very good too.

We visited the Eden Project and decided to make the short trip here for tea afterwards and glad we did! Very relaxed vibes, all the staff are so friendly and food was outstanding. Had the scallop starter followed by the half Lobster with the family having Pizza, Scallops main and Calamari starter. Will definitely be coming back as so much more on the Menu to try.

As locals we love Sams. I often go for a dish dish or the belly pork but this time went for the goats cheese pizza. A great choice as ever and my mussels for starters were great and the waffle desert was just amazing as ever. Well done the team there, it was busy but the service was great and a thanks to our waiter, Hugo who was a credit to the team.

What a find, lovely old RNLI building, fantastic views and right on the beach. Park in the public car park and walk down the hill, do not try and park near or next to pub at beach, it is only a two minute walk down the hill. Food is fantastic and really fresh, i do not like fish so had the paste, pork belly had just finished. I was not disappointed as was lovely. My wife had Sardines and Ashe said they were great and very tasty. Setting is fantastic staff were very attentive and helpful. Tip…although they do take walk ins it is very busy so best to book, they also have seating outside you can request if on a nice day Park in car park and walk down.

After reviewing comments from TikTok, we had to visit. Well, what a loverly setting on the beach and an outstanding welcome from staff, refreshing to see people happy and proud of their workplace. The menu was inviting across the board, and boy did each course deliver. Do not hesitate, if you can get a booking, this is one not to miss. Thank you, Sam. we left on a huge high xx

And out of nowhere comes Sam’s on the Beach… a true Cornish treasure… superb friendly staff welcoming visitors to a beautifully decorated clean restaurant… the menu makes you want to chose it all… I’ve just eaten the best Moules!! Food and drink plentiful and varied… Top marks 5 Stars from me!!! We will be back again and again

Very delicious food, had muscles for the first time that I enjoyed very much. Mum had the seafood platter and I had the Cornish 4 cheese pizza while being accommodated for my sister's picky eating for having paffitatrolls while we have our main coming over asking how the meal is. The staff are very helpful as we had a table outside to begin with however a party cancelled so we were asked if we wanted to come in, got a table with a lovely view of the beach Only downside can't be helped at all since it is an open space, doors open so expect insects if you are outside or near the door. Overall a very positive experience at Sam's on the beach !!

Stunning location stunning food- we sat at a table overlooking the beach and had a seafood feast! choosing sardines, calamari, mussels & crevette starters followed by a whole lobster with fries!! Service was warm, friendly and attentive. Park up the road for free after 6pm in the pay and display car park. We had a lovely walk along the beach in sunset afterwards. Highly recommend, we’ll definitely be back!

Have been coming here for 10 years & have had many great meals as a family, the last time we came the food was not up to the usual standards, but we thought it was a 1 off & gave the benefit of the doubt. So it was really disappointing to find that the food quality has really dropped, the Chicken Basque is like they have added a pre-cooked chicken breast at the last minute, dry & flavourless. My Steak which was ordered med/rare was served straight from the griddle, so by the time it had rested was well done. If the chef cannot cook a basic steak, then he should perhaps reconsider. My daughter ordered the sundae (samboca?) which used to be a challenge, the only challenge now is understanding how they can charge £8 fir a couple of scoops of vanilla ice cream. Whilst the food quality has gone done, the prices certainly have not, quite the opposite, the prices are now London weighted prices, but the quality is far short of what any restaurant should serve. Really sad to say, but we will not come back, which is a real shame as we have supported the Sam’s restaurants across multiple venues & the visits have been part of our children’s upbringing. Sorry Sam, time to go back to basics.

We were lucky enough to be able to book a window seat for our meal at Sam's which meant we could watch the sea while we dined. As soon as we arrived we were shown to our table and offered some water. We had eaten elsewhere the previous evening and had a bad experience, so it was so nice to feel we were somewhere where staff knew how to look after their customers. Our food was delicious, I had the chicken basque. My husband ordered a portion of truffle fries to go with his meal and then struggled to eat many of them as the portions were generous. It was a lovely dining experience in a beautiful setting.

Teleurstellend eten. Voorgerecht crab in een deegje was niet helemaal gaar. Hoofdgerecht tong was compleet tot moes gegaard. Echt jammer. We kregen wel als excuus de drankjes gratis en de service en sfeer en uitzicht waren prima.

Quietish Monday evening compared to the weekend but the atmosphere was still buzzing with the chatter at many full tables. View over the ocean to eat was brilliant. Between our party we had a fab selection of meat and fish. From sharing fish/seafood starters to seafood pizza, linguine, Basque Chicken. All delightful. Everyone full to the brim of delicious food.Service was perfect and happy to ge space between courses. 10 out of 10. We'll be so happy to come back to Sams on the beach ⛱
