Sweet and sour sauce tastes like banana! Why? 🤢

Flavourless corn starch with food colouring.

Ordered through Uber eats on 30/03/24 x2 chicken dishes missing. Rang to complaint directly to this takeaway they assured me Uber eats would sort this. They won’t refund for the 2 dishes!! Don’t use!!

Over 2 hour wait for it to be delivered and i live 2 minutes round the corner (yes im lazy but we had a house full so didnt want to walk round) turned up with about 5 items missing!! Phoned to complain and ended up speaking to a delivery driver who had no idea what to do i felt sorry for him, they did bring the rest of the food but that was 1 hour later and was way too late! No offer of a refund or anything, the sad thing is the food was actually really good but this has mega put me off

Takeaway meals only, quality varies depending on whether they are busy, quieter times better food. They will often deliver earlier than BigFoody app says. There is a comment box which you can say happy to have sooner, if possible. Satay and pork dishes are the best , in our experience.

Food is really good, just a little overpriced. Still, it's far superior to other takeaways in the vicinity.

Ordered takeaway from here last night. Day after both had very very upset tummies. First and last visit in one go.

Ordered food in advance and selected it to be delivered at 19.40 as family were not arriving until half 7. Food was delivered at 6. So obviously cold by the time we could eat it. When I rang to question why they had delivered it so early, they hung up in me. Food had no flavour

Oh dear what a disappointment our food was tonight. We converted to tasty wok 2 years ish ago. We are generally very happy with the food and delivery times. What oh what happened tonight, we only ordered a pancake roll each, chicken chow main and beef Singapore rice. The pancake rolls were (I’m sorry) disgusting, the outside was thick, pale and undercooked, mine was raw inside. My chow main was dry and lukewarm. Unfortunately we are going to have to look for a different takeaway.

Based on reviews here I ordered a meal that I normally buy in Colchester: straight comparison. Tasty wok does not impress on entry, reeking of burnt oil as it does. Food back at the house; sweet and sour chicken, chicken hong kong style, lemon chicken, chicken rice, chicken chow Merton, chicken foo yung. On opening there was a stench of banana and this, unfortunately, tainted every dish. The sweet and sour sauce may have been the culprit as it tasted of banana, not sour. Possibly banana fritters had been fried in a wok/ reused oil or similar. The lemon chicken sauce was separated and tasted of "burn", rendering it inedible ... along with a slight taste of banana. Chicken balls not in a Chinese batter; some nasty gelatinous British fish and chip batter so they couldn't even be eaten without the sauce. I tried soy sauce as a dip but then realised that the balls also tastes strongly of banana even without any sauce. My wife managed half the chicken foo yung ... and that's it from a six cartoon meal. I needed to lose weight and shopping here might help either by poor hygiene later causing a bigger issue than fruity cross contamination or by buying a meal and just binning it. (FYI it was so bad that the cats wouldn't eat it! Honestly, that's a first; they'll eat rat!). Avoid like the plague/C19.

Ordered a beef chow mien and a bag of prawn crackers. Chow mien was tiny in a tray you normally get rice in and about 7 crackers and charged me £8!! Tiny meal … expensive!!!

This used to be the best place for Chinese locally however since new owners have taken over food is not as good as before. You can still have a good dish from here but other local Chinese takeaway are better

Ordered quite a bit of food from here. The last visit they my order soo wrong, I went back and complained the young girl behind the counters shrugged her shoulders and just did not care that dishes were missing and one totally wrong. I phoned the manager who was working at another restaurant, he just jabbered on about how they couldn't sort my order as he had to watch profit margins. Disgusting service. Shame because the food up until this point was quite good. Clearly though they don't value their customers. I don't recommend them, take your business to a business that values your return custom.

Normally the food is great, but this time I ordered a 1/4 aromatic duck- and it was disgusting! It was so fatty and slimy I had to throw it away! So, unfortunately a bad mark for this order! 26/12/19

So disappointing, hubby had his chicken chow mein, that was ok, I had crispy prawns only 1 was edible, si hard as if re heated, also had large spring roll, so hard at ends, phoned to report prawns , no call back, had crispy duck ladt time, inedible. Givevup now , never go back or recommend... you have gone down spiral ... why ...

Halving taken approx 1 hr to even get through we were told order would be 30 mins after 15 minutes of being late I phoned to query . I was established that the food was to ready on side awaiting driver when it finally arrived the order was not correct and was cold all food sent back Just sent back at 10.14 this been ongoing since 8.30

Was ok nothing to brag about. Chow mein was dry no sauce at all. Curry was a very pale yellow colour, never saw it like that before. Not much meat in dishes & coke was warm. Chicken balls and pancake roll was nice, crispy beef not bad either

I've been a regular to the Tasty Wok for over 13 years now, I've always rated it as the best Chinese takeaway in town, almost as good as Mr Wings but since Christmas we've noticed the service and quality has started to go down hill, last week we had a £21 order and when we got home some of the order was wrong (ordered roast duck Cantonese style but received roast duck with pineapple) and mine was very dry (lemon chicken and duck chow mein). We thought we would give them one more chance this evening spending another £23 with them but this time they forgot my wife's order, we rang up and the girl on the phone basically didn't believe us and accused us of trying to get a free meal! She eventually agreed to give it to us but made a fuss about delivering it even though we live on the same road! The dish did arrive 20 mins later but the rest of the meal was cold by then. The food again wasn't anywhere near as nice as it used to be and was again very dry. Oh and if you spend over £20 and pay by cash you now have to ask to spin the wheel for a free prize, they won't ask you anymore like they used too. I don't know what's happened to the place but if this keep this up they won't be keeping their customers.

Shame you guys got my order wrong tonight, as much as 10% off next time is very kind, it's of little consequence when I have £31 of food sitting cold. Let down tonight.

We love to order from tasty wok. They have the roulette wheel if you spend more than £15 you win something, sometimes it’s a chicken chow mien, sometimes it’s prawn crackers, sometimes it’s 20% off your next order etc etc, love it, my son loves spinning it. The chow mien is the best, not dry and not just rammed full of noodles and grease. The crispy beef is the best, you can taste the beef. Overall the food is brilliant, I only give it 4 stars as it gives me palpitations, Im not sure what they put in but other places don’t give me palpitations.

I often order from here despite living on the other side of town as in my opinion it’s one of the best Chinese takeaways in town. Their chicken in black bean sauce is amazing! Highly recommend!

Best Chinese take away- friendly staff, never a long wait and unlike a lot of establishments they get order right every time

Tasty Wok is our favourite. The food is delicious. Each dish tastes different, unlike some other chinese restaurants which seem to have the same sauce poured over everything. We like spicy food and go for the satay chow mein and spicy pork. We love their ribs and usually have 2 large packets. Guests always comment on how lovely the food is and recently friends who have travelled in Asia commented that the food from Tasty Wok was authentic and as good as any they had tasted in Thailand and China. We would thoroughly recommend Tasty Wok to other diners. Always hot and tasty from Tasty Wok.

Once again, beautiful food served piping hot to our door. Cannot fault this takeaway. Delivery people courteous and charming. Phoned the takeaway to say thank you for their cuisine and delivery.

We travel 35 minutes to get our take away from here, great service and gorgeous tasty food which is still piping hot when we get home to eat it!! Highly reccommended!!

Great food, but lacks an online menu making it hard to know what to order unless you go there for a menu other than that its my preferred chinese takeaway

It was my first time using this Chinese take away and let me say it won't be the last. Everything we ordered was excellent. Its the best Chinese take away around. Very good quick service also.

Tasty Wok is by far the best takeaway/delivery chinese in Ipswich and also one of the very best i have ever had. Its so good the i rank it up with the very high end expensive chinese restraunts like Trongs in Ipswich and the really good ones in china town London (yes some in china town are pretty crappy). You will not be dissapointed. Trust me... I'm a fat bastard that lives on takeaways (and Beer).

This is always first choice the only improvement could be a little more sauce with the sweet and sour dishes. The Singapore noodles is a firm favourite and can be a meal on its own, the Kung po chicken is great too. The portion sizes are generous and they deliver for only £2 too - bargain
