King's Garden in Ipswich

APPALLING!!!! Food was late so called the restaurant and got through to a woman with zero customer service skills and a bad attitude. She talked over me constantly and hung up on me THREE TIMES!! Absolutely appalling service and appalling staff!!!! She really needs to take a customer service course or anger management

Just had takeaway from kings garden chinese queensway all i can say is terrible chicken curry with chips x2 chips looked as though they had been cooked yesterday and warmed up and the chicken tasted gross i will never order from there again i dont think they will be in business much longer serving up rubbish like that 0 out of100te rubbish

Absolutely disgusting and awful! I had to throw everything and lose another hour to go and get something else. Couldn't return due to being at work and even if I wanted I didn't receive no receipt because they only accept cash payments no card and they don't give you receipt.

A little bit pricier than our previous Chinese Takeaway, but worth the extra!

I called up at 5:45pm the food came at 7pm even though they said it would be 30-40 minutes maximum. The food was cold, stale, sticky and tasted like it was cooked the night before. I called for a refund but the lady on the phone was very rude she went to her managers and laughed about what I said. She then came back to me and goes you can have a full refund. Then 15 minutes later calls me back to say I can’t have the refund and wouldn’t let me speak to a manager, multiple times she hung up on me and was speaking over me whilst also putting me on hold many times even though I was making a complaint. Disgusting and appalling behaviour not only from the girl on the phone but the managers that make the food. One last thing she wouldn’t give me her name and that fact that she was so rude I understand why now she wouldn’t give it.

What is the point is saying it will be about hour when I have to call after 1 hour 15 mins to see where my food is and then another 8mins after that I have a know a knock on the door!! I simply said that maybe you should tell the phone person to tell customers the true delivery time! He came up with some excuse and I said well give me back my money and have your food back! He didn’t want to do that! I said have your food back he throw my money back over the ground! Never usin g them again….I think the feel is mutual judging by the language.

Just had my birthday treat but unfortunately it was far from a treat. Curry sauce was cold and bland, the chicken in chilli in spiced salt was also very bland and overcooked so went straight in the bin. Gutted as food has always been good in the past.

Crispy chilli beef was trash it did not come in sweet and sour sauce like any other crispy chilli beef I’ve had before, the chicken satay skewers come in a sugary gelatinous goop (not peanut sauce). Chicken chow mein was dry and dead, not very appetising Chinese at all. Not to mention the food was 25 minutes late.

Good food. Cheap. Good atmosphere. Clean, tidy, quick service

By far the worst Chinese I've ever tasted. I'm sure the crispy beef is actually a dog treat. Discussing. Don't eat here

Lovely vegetarian food! Tofu, chips, noodles/beansprouts, curry sauce are all lovely. Delivery does usually take a really long time for me, 40-60 mins, but is worth it for the food. Just wish it was quicker! 30 mins or less would be ideal.

Been coming here years. Have to say English lady on the till is incredibly rude and has the ability to put you in a really bad mood. I queried the total price for my order as when I last had it, it was a lot cheaper. She flat out told me I was wrong and my prices were wrong. Upon checking menu she said I was quoting price for a small, and that I “didn’t specify a small on the phone” to which I said I didn’t specify a large either. Essentially told me I was wrong for not specifying, despite the prices being for a small on the menu. Out of principle and because I don’t need a large (I’ll waste the food) asked for it to be changed to small. She went into the back and I heard her slagging me off. I will continue going here but service is terrible. I don’t mind the misunderstanding on her part but to be rude about it, not seek to offer any problem solving, and just stare at me like I’m mental is shocking. Also the chips were very bad

Used to be really good in the past but the last couple of times I have ordered the quality of the food is nothing to shout about not sure if they are skimping on spices used in cooking or if its just overcooked. I won't been in a hurry to order from them again or recommend them to anyone. 2.5 🌟

Awesome food..the best chinese in Ipswich. We had a delivery last weekend and it was here within 30 minutes. Delivery driver was very friendly and polite..looking forward to our next delivery this weekend 👍

The customer service at this establishment is so bad I will never order from here again. I placed an order at 17:15 on just eat for a delivery time of 19:30 which gave the restaurant over 2 hours to prepare and deliver my food. At 20:10 I phoned the restaurant to find out where my order was and was informed it would be another 45 minutes. Obviously i was not happy about the service and requested that they made it quicker as I had to be up very early for work and was informed that they would rather cancel my order and hung up. I then recieved a notification from just eat that he restaurant had cancelled my order. I must add that this is the 2nd time this has happened and gave them the benefit of doubt for the 1st time. Never again will I order from Kings garden again

Avoid this place unless you enjoy waiting nearly 3 hours from placing an order for food, now happened on several occasions but like to give places the benefit of the doubt, worst customer service as tried to call for over half an hour and the line was busy though I suspect it had actually been taken off the hook entirely! I understand it’s a weekend and takeaways get busy but poor service when you can’t take the time to call people you know are waiting for an order and know it’s going to be late, it’s not that hard to do and don’t see why they didn’t. Placed an order (on someone else’s behalf, I might add) around 5:20 pm in order to ideally beat the rush, it’s now 8:10 (we were told it would be here around 6:50 initially and I finally got told it would be here by 8:05 around 20 minutes ago) and it still is not here and can’t even cancel the order. Don’t order from here, I certainly won’t be again, order from anywhere else. The absolute worst.

we had a take away of pancake rolls, chicken chowmain, vegtable curry, fried rice . the salt content was far too much as so you could only eat 3 mouth fulls. do not recommend

Do it usually like Chinese food that much, but the food from here is always, hot and very good....crispy chilli beef shreds always very crispy.

Absolutely fantastic! Delivered 20 minutes early and was piping hot. Mushroom rice is with real mushrooms so fab! Great Thai curry, little kick and creamy. Kung po chicken was sweet with a little kick. Loads of food for tomorrow. Fantastic food, will 100% be ordering again.

Well first of all the driver and a passenger turns up to deliver my food he stands at my door no 2 metre at all then I get the food and in all my years I have never seen a pink foo yung ...food colouring maybe ...no bean sprouts in fact not a lot at all also curry really watery I tried to speak to the shop about this and someone called Ella came on the phone being rude and could not offer me a time for the two dishes to be replaced .basically avoid at all costs I’ve eaten from here for a few years now and they treat me like rubbish

1st time we have tried Kings Garden and have to say this is this best takeaway in Ipswich

Ordered from them the first time Monday night,it was beautiful,I ordered chicken curry,egg fried rice, chicken balls and special chewmain best Chinese I've had for a long time oh and you get free fortune cookies lol

Food was delicious and hot and it came way before it was ment to..very happy with these will definitely be using them again soon

Good Chinese food friendly service

My new favourite Chinese takeaway. First place I've found that when it says something has chilli in it you can actually taste the heat. Food is tasty and the meals come with fortune cookies.

Your best option in east Ipswich. Don’t take my word for it- most people agree. Quality varies so only order on Friday/Saturday. Expect to wait over an hour and order the honey chilli dishes. Or don’t. There are better options in the town centre. ... I only wish their vegetable dishes were better. No peas in their curries! Awesome news.

We've been waiting over an hour from expecting delivery time. Food was extremely dry and tasteless. Bit disappointed...

Me and my partner enjoy our Chinese and normally attend wongs but by being recommended kings garden we thought we would give it ago... Well the food is amazing very friendly and always on time. Food is always piping hot and there is no grease on your food at all 5 star!!

Food is amazing its just the delivery time which made the food cold. I use this Chinese place alot as i found it one of the best in Ipswich. This is the first time this has happened to me. I placed my order at 7:56pm they put a 20min delay on the order which took it to 9.05. And it didn’t turn up till 10.20pm. I tried to call the restaurant over 10 times and no answer. When they finally answered they told me the driver had left 2 minutes ago but still had to wait till 10:20pm. They also told me that they will take some money off the bill, and they will call the driver so the driver is aware. The driver turned up and didnt know anything about it..

Food plenty of food nice and tasty. Price a bit higher than most other restaurants but worth it. Had a bit of a wait other than that fab worth a try.

Eventually arrived 40 minutes late and when I received it one dish was wrong so waited further 12 minutes for correct dish, so in the end the time from ordering to receiving complete order was approx 1 3/4 hours

I've ordered from King's Garden at least 10 times but this time I was very disappointed. Whilst the food was hot and the meat well cooked, the sauces were awful. We had lemon chicken and a sweet and sour dish. Both sauces tasted artificial and cheap. It's such a shame because the always did the best sweet and sour sauce around :-(

Recommended to friends due to normal excellent delivery/food... was let down by 40 min plus late delivery. Even though a Saturday and appreciate busy this had never been a problem before. Was given bottle of Coke.

over an hour late. when calling the first time they will tell you that you are the next order and the second time you call they will then tell you the driver has just left... this has happened to 3 different people I know now - it's just such a shame the way the place is ran and the staff are so rude when you query where you're order is. we thought we would give this place another chance as last time we ordered the food was late but we will not be ordering from here ever again.

Use this place all the time, never had a bad meal, don't let the location put you off, have turned lots of family and friends onto this place and all have thanked me for it, unbelievably cheap for the quality and size of portions

Selected 5:45 collection time but this was extended by half an hour. The food was lovely though, cooked so well and tasted delicious. You get a lot for your money too! Food was hot and fresh and staff were friendly. Overall great experience, would definitely order from here again.

Will never order from this restaurant again. The delivery time order SET by the restaurant was 1 hour 20 minutes after order time and still came 30 minutes later! And the restaurant had no interest to sort the delay but just to cancel our order. IF WE HADN'T BEEN WAITING AND STARVING THAT LONG, TRUST ME WE WOULDVE JUST CANCELLED THE ORDER EASY. The food came anyway and I've specifically put it to be extra spicy but it didnt. The duck dish had more skin than the actual meat. I've never ever complained like this before but this restaurant is really bad. DO NOT ORDER.

The food was ok, I was very disappointed that the delivery driver delivered my order next door instead of to my address! I live next to elderly people and felt terrible that their evening had been disturbed, there are clear numbers on the doors so he shouldn't have made that mistake. Pure laziness from the driver

Worst quality food ever tasted. Chicken didn't resemble chicken and if it was it was the worst texture ever tasted. Not quite sure why the omellete was bright orange. Food could have been hotter. Curry sauce resembled the texture of jelly . Out of 5 dishes only one of these was nice. Wasted 3/4s of the food. Won't use again.

This was a really pleasant surprise. We ordered the mixed starter for 2 and the salt and pepper squid to start. It was absolutely delicious!! It was so fresh tasting with clean clear flavours. We also ordered some sweet and sour prawns and a roast duck dish in chilli plum sauce. We were so full after the starter bits that I don't think we appreciated the additional items. Will order from again for sure.

Absolutely fabulous food and large portions. Did take a while to be delivered and went beyond time that was on app. Had to telephone them to check we hadnt been forgotten. Could not fault it when it did arrive.

(because that matters?) said that 3 times She Even inspected the dish and said there's meat in there! So yeah let's argue with the customer That will go down great for a review!

Awful inedible,black,burnt to a cinder duck.It literally just crumbled to pieces.took one bite and had to stop myself from spitting it out. Took the food back.The host argued their was nothing wrong with it and during our complaint she proceeded to take phonecalls and place orders whilst we stood there waiting for our refund.she begrudgingly refunded just the duck and not the rice which was poor given we bought it all as a meal to feed the family.IT GOES WITHOUT SAYING ... WE WON'T BE BACK!!!

Very good and accommodating, I order the appetisers and it comes with two big spring rolls, I ask for four small spring rolls instead and they are always happy to do this for me, great service thank you.
