Tasty African Food in Southwark

The food is good but the service is extremely slow. I was just there for just two things and I spent about 9 minute before I given my food and change to leave. The prices also suddenly increases sometimes. They also charge for a plastic bag to put your food in. How obnoxious!!

I bought jollof rice which was ok, the puff puff was not cooked properly it was gummy like the inside was not cooked enough. Food is reasonable priced but you get what you pay for

This is honestly one of the best tasting African meals I’ve had. Very fresh and actually so delicious! I would definitely recommend to anyone seeking authentic African meals. Unfortunately are all my food and forgot to take actual pictures!

They don’t have a price list on display anywhere in this store or the previous one. How do I know the price of the items I want to purchase? This is unseen of in any restaurant. Even the local chicken & chip shops have price lists. Secondly, they do not issue receipts as a standard. I’ve had to begin asking so I can see whether I have been charged the correct price. Finally, the new store looks great but I think the food can be stored a little better whereby it is not exposed. The glass should have a closing door or window for hygiene.

Food was tasty. I ordered meatpies, puffpuff and moinmoin.

Can be tasty and can be spoilt. Depending on how long it has been stored. Love the chicken pie, puff puff and jollof rice. Moinmoin & yam porridge can be hit or miss.

The food is always tasty no matter what...they are consistent with delivering good food. The quality is never compromised.

I had meat pie, jollof rice, puff puff, grilled turkey and Fanta. It was really nice

I have been there many times, I always buy poupou and either fish pie or roll and I must say that their fish pie or roll isn't always nice.

Food very tasty and good presentation.

Very good food always on point food full of flavour aswel as good portion size. Best african food in packham. Jallof rice aswel as egusi soup are both 10/10 👌🏽

I ordered on uber Eats and when ny food arrived, the beef I ordered was more like stone. We couldn't eat as it was very tough. Quite disappointed as one beef cost £2.40.

It was my first time of visiting Peckham and I was so hungry needed a delicious African meal. I asked around and someone recommended this place. I decided to try it out with my friend. We both ordered egusi soup and pounded yam. It was sumptuous 😊🥰. It is really hard for someone to satisfy me with egusi soup but to my greatest surprise, Tasty African food did. I will recommend this place for their nice meals. However, their customer attending skill is poor and I would recommend they try put in more effort. We were eating and my friend needed a tooth pick. First of all, meal was served without toothpick…come on who does that? ..so we requested for it and she told us to come pick it up…like😞😞….my friend who was still eating, had to leave her sit to get it and that was it.

with a friend of mine who is also a chef like me, we decided to try again to eat African, this time the experience was incredibly surprising because all really good foods, different but well prepared combinations, and as a motorcyclist as I have been for years I also really appreciate the generous portions as in this case were, truly surprising for those of us who are looking for new dining experiences; few seats to eat on the spot but for a place that mainly deals with takeaway food I can say that it is a small detail really appreciated

The main staff there, a lady on short hair/low cut has zero customer care skills. She is unnecessarily rude AF without cause. She is terrible. The food is nice but for the terrible service

Most of their meals are amazing, have had 2 terrible orders thou, but for the most part, the food is tasty, fresh and very good portions. Was very happy with the goat meat pepper soup, egusi and mild stew with assorted meat.

Word of advice, don't buy the bitter leaf soup.

2 meat pies were purchased at the Peckham branch and they were barely warm even though they were purchased barely 10 minutes after their doors opened. Once bit into, the filling was very dry. The staff was unhelpful and argumentative.

New take on selling Nigerian food, and makes it more affordable

I’ve been in London for about 2 months and I eat a lot of different stuff but whenever I tried to find Nigerian food I always got disappointed. This was the first time I tried Nigerian food here that I actually liked, no loved. Everything I tried banged; jollof, dodo, Turkey, ewa riro, even the meat pie, the food is just as good any Nigerian restaurant and better than a lot of them. Try it, you won’t regret it.

Been here a few times now, however last visit was well.... Didn't manage to get any thing, as service was slow to say the least and the queue just kept getting longer. In the end I left after 15mins of waiting.

Jollof was really nice, learn moinmoi of if this world, the peppered stew niiicceeeee. Fried rice was excellent. The only issue I had was the meat could be a little tastier. And the beef softer other than that I will go there again oh father in law loved it.

The Jollof rice was mashed up and practically tasteless. The egusi and vegetable soup was also bad. Please get a better chef. It meant to be a birthday treat but it was all wasted.

Ordered on deliveroo, took an hour longer than expected. Food had really strange, awful smell. Tasted rank as well, would steer well clear.

All I can say is the name was well chosen. I almost finished my takeaway before I reached home.

Beef as burnt, dried. I ordered two fantas and received a coke and bitter lemon. Not enough sauce with the meat. I waited moree than a hour for this.

All the food is great apart from the rice as I am not the biggest fan of raisins.

The food from this place tasted awful. If you love Jollof rice, don’t choose this place - it simply didn’t taste authentic. The beef stew had a strange smell, and I suspect the meat may have been off. The beef was over cooked and tough. The sauce in the beef stew barely had any flavour. The goat stew was just about ok, but not well seasoned. Nothing I had was even approaching delicious, and I was really hungry. They failed to deliver part of my order; when I rang to inform them of this, the woman who took the call was polite enough and immediately admitted they had run out of the item. Clearly, they should have taken the item off the online menu or rang me before delivery took place to inform me the item had run out.

Best place for African food in my opinion and decent prices.

Gives me great pleasure to say that I travel miles to get to the Woolwich Arsenal branch to buy the jollof rice. It might just be in my head but I prefer this one to the one at Peckham. Overall great foods, I have taken a few friends there who have sampled their soups and other dishes and no complaints so far.

I ordered from Tasty Peckham using Uber eats for the first time last month, where there was a promotion but the item I wanted was sold out but was still on display. So money loss, had to contact Uber Also ordered again and an items was missed, Went to the store and asked what was in the soup I was buying, couldn’t check because it was frozen but the items mentioned was incorrect. Lastly used Uber eats to buy an item 7x and the portions sizes were disappointing. I love tasty but its hard to spend money knowing I’m going to get an incorrect order.

Too rude, gives a bad name for African takeaways. Called to make an order and the staff was extremely rude for no reason at all, cut the phone on me twice. Really don't know how the food taste but if it's anything like the staffs attitude I would stay far away.
