Tasty African Food in Thurrock

The customer service is rather unpleasant im afraid. One lady shouted at me for absolutely no reason.

Staff are often distracted as often on phone, dropping food sometimes. The kitchen is inside the serving area and often smoky from frying. Need better extractor or humidifier

Food is nice but you have nasty , rude and unprofessional workers that need proper training..

Staff do not smile. They all seem to be depressed in some way. I ordered mixed Okro soup and assorted meat. As you can it was frozen. Rock solid frozen. I do not expect to pay £11 for a frozen meal from a resturant, I expect it to be fresh. If I wanted frozen food I would of went to Iceland. The one star goes to the pounded yam. I had to use my pan to heat up the Okro and it was full of fish bones. Not sure if they are trying to kill their customers with poor service or trying to poison them with food.

The jollof rice and turkey was top

Nice food no doubt, I was served cold turkey, and the customer service is bad. Your staff need to be more polite. I doubt I will revisit.

The service and the quality of food has gone down.

It was a nice experience. I think you should inform the customers that the food is cold.I bought jollof rice, moimoi, ofada sauce and chicken,I got home and realised that everything was cold asides the jollof rice. Also,it think the menu should be place in a visible place with their current prices written on them.It allows customers to know what you sell and also weigh their budget.

I wasn’t able to buy a couple of puff puffs. I was told that I had to buy 4 for £1.50. I think you should have a system where I’m able to buy any quantity of puff puffs I want. I think you’re encouraging people to buy more than necessary thereby promoting obesity. Please review your policy and make appropriate changes.

Rudest customer service I’ve ever experienced. I came into the store as a potential customer and left as ‘not’ a potential customer. Reason being, the lady working there approached me with a very rude tone asking me to wait outside and i was appalled by the fact that they assumed that just because I was not of their ethnicity that I was supposed to wait outside whilst everyone else was inside. When I asked a question they completely ignored me. The atmosphere is received as a (white European) was not welcoming.

Tasty African is an absolute gem. A delicious and exotic taste of Africa in humble Grays. Staff are welcoming and a joy to talk to. I particularly love their pepper soup. Usually I take out but occasionally enjoy a quick Gulder in the modern, pristine restaurant area. It's so relaxing to hear Afrobeat. Highly recommended!

I had to pay extra pounds to get the soup I bought from them microwaved, like how can you charge me to microwave egusi soup I bought from the same tasty in grays... in Nigeria you sell hot soup 🍲 Why then is it a restaurant 🤔? the soup are not fresh they cook soup and put in freezer for God knows how long....

The stafff are always sooo rude. I don’t know if the owner is aware. It’s such a put off whenever I want to place an order. Stop being rude to customers that are just trying to kindly place an order and eat. It’s the receptionist in particular. Rude lady. Every single time.

A place where you can find your national lunch food

I wanted to try african food. I came and ask can you recommend something beefy from menu. Lady behind couter was very rude. She said look at menu. When i asked explain me dishes which i was interested. She started complain that i came and i dont know nothing about nigerian cuisine, kinda racist. I will never ever come here again.

I am regular here but today who ever served me jollof just gave me oil and no flavour... Disappointed. Will go to another branch.

Meat is soooo hard, inedible, basically raw. Third time ordering this year, same results. My one star is for the yummy puffpuff Below pic is me resorting to cooking the meat rather than binning it

food was very bland and tasteless. nothing compared to other african places i’ve eaten at. all the meat was dry and extremely chewy too. not great.

the food was terrible, if there was a minus zero i would give it that. the meet was hard, the shaki was hard like it just came off the cow stomach!

The meatpie is second to none. I have never tasted a meatpie as good as this. Talk of the poffpoff, its absolutely tasty. I drive down 30 miles to go pick up my meatpie and poffpoff. Absolutely worth it

I rang up to amend an order, but before i could finish what i was saying the staff told me that they cannot give me free food without even listening to me to tell her that i have my payment card with me. She just dropped the phone on me. If i could give them zero stars i would but unfortunately the system does not allow it.

I deliver from this restaurant. Dear customers, there is a lady who, when she doesn't feel like working, keeps her phone busy. He behaves very badly with Delivero. If you get the order home late, you know that woman is doing everything wrong

The customer service is terrible . The staff encourage the customers to be rude to other customers. You can’t be talking about other customers in Yoruba because they don’t understand. That’s just bad manners The food might be great but when you think about the customer service it’s not really worth it After today I will be giving the place a miss.

The food is very tasty as the name implies. The restaurant itself is very clean tidy and you can listen to some very good nigerian music. Customer service is also 5 star. I would definitely go back again.
