best breakfast spot in town i rate them

I visit this place daily for my first coffee of the day, there's no coffee like it. Haj and Mohammed are the best. Today I went in for a breakfast but then saw they have something new on the menu, vegetarian quiche, so I decided to give it a try. Needless to say, it didn't disappoint. Absolutely delicious. Will definitely have again. Thanks guys, luv ya.......Mandie

You have to visit this place , food is so good and priced well for the quality you get . The staff are very welcoming & the owner is a great guy with a brilliant sense of humour . The French toast is amazing as was the burger , you have to try this place !

Drink took longer than food I requested it before my food. The burger thing looked amazing but was absolutely vile wasted trip and money

First of all, there were many people eating. I wanted to eat shakshuka, but since I was late, I had the Black Hole burger and Date Night smoothie. There really is no need to talk much. It was the best burger of my life. I try franchise hamburgers often enough to try them every time a new product comes out, but here, ‘we are different from common franchises’ and the taste proves the difference. The chef even came out to ask if the food was okay, and his manners towards older guests were also exceptional. It's the perfect meal for the best meal in the UK.

This the best halal brunch in Birmingham by far I’ve tried the French toast and the royal breakfast and it was fabulous and the coffee was absolutely spot on Definitely I’ll be back with my kids as they love it

Very tasty and high quality breakfast. They also have a very good Ketology breakfast. Coffee was very good. My daughter also had lemonade mint drink - it was fresh and delicious. Service was super friendly and lovely with kids. I highly recommend and would come again if we are in the area.

I recently visited Tasteology with my family and had an absolutely wonderful breakfast experience. Nestled in the back streets with ample parking available on the side street, this place is a hidden gem. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely and friendly man behind the counter. The chef was equally friendly and made some fantastic recommendations. The breakfast menu is straightforward, featuring a variety of top-notch, freshly cooked items that are bursting with flavour. We ordered quite a few dishes to sample everything, and each one was just great. The quality of the food and the friendly service truly stood out. I highly recommend Tasteology for anyone looking for a delightful breakfast experience.

I had heard about this place from a few people and whilst I don’t live too far away I thought it was time for me to check it out. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly welcome and sat down right away which is always a bonus. The menu has a variety of options and I was spoilt for choice. I always like to try different things but went for a Full English breakfast with the kids opting for a breakfast wrap each. To drink , we had a cappuccino, mocha and a Ferraroshake. Having placed and paid for my order, I then spotted the French Toast which looked amazing and had to place an order for this as well. The place was busy and the food arrived after 20 minutes which was expected. The presentation was excellent and the taste was sublime. The kids enjoyed the breakfast wrap and the full English tasted on point. I have a sweet tooth and the French toast did not disappoint. The bread was soaked in maple syrup and topped with fruit with a Nutella drizzle. The icing on the cake was the lovely vanilla ice cream scoop which brought it altogether. It was so good that everyone had to have a taste which was expected but next time I won’t be sharing!! All in all it was a very enjoyable experience. The owner came out and said hello which was a nice touch. I highly recommend that people try this place, you will not be disappointed.

Immaculately clean cafe with polite and efficient service. Perfect coffee Separately and deliciously cooked poached eggs in a very tasty but loose ratatouille. Totally lacking garlic, reduced tomatoes ( can would suufice ), cumin , sweet paprika, chilli, fresh coriander and underseasoned but salt and pepper on table. Certainly not authentic Shakshouka with oven baked eggs.

Great coffee and friendly service

Fabulous quality food in a cafe setting that the larger chains can only dream of. If you are a chocolate connoisseur and enjoy milkshakes then our favourite is the Ferrerroshake milkshake. I did enjoy the taste and food related quotes and infographics.

Coffee was the best I have tasted in Birmingham. Absolutely had a fantastic early morning breakfast :-) it is my new favourite place.

This is an incredibly special place for Birmingham. Located a few minutes from the QE and approx. 15 mins from the city centre, it’s the Gem of Harborne with plenty of available parking and access to the Coffee Shop. The French toast and Royal Breakfast are Ace! Highly recommend trying one of their milkshakes/ fresh Juices! We are greeted with a smile and served a quality brunch on every occasion. Family friendly Space and Hajji looks after everyone!

Amazing food, we finally visited in person and we absolutely loved it. Food is just top tier. The owner was incredibly welcoming and also the interior is amazing. We will definitely be back and recommend this as an excellent option for a vegan brunch and Iced coffee!

As a former employee i previously worked here for almost a year, while i was in employment at Tasteology one of the most important things to the business was ensuring customers were content with the quality of the food. Having left on bad terms… i still didn’t have an issue with supporting the small business, i had come in once with my partner and we were declined service because it was “too busy”, as i’ve said previously, having worked there i’ve seen first hand how “busy” the place can get and know that 4 tickets and 1 in house customer is not “busy” however i brushed off the childish behaviour of not serving an ex employee and we went somewhere else.. Having said that and due to previous experience of being declined service in house we decided to order via uber eats, now i’m unsure if it was a genuine mistake or if it was done intentionally, the food came raw and incorrect, i did message the owner privately to address the issue and save the public humiliation and i received no response however for the interest of other customers i wouldn’t see it fit for anyone to order tasteology online as they clearly don’t value the safety and quality of the food they send out to people when their faces are hidden, it was impossible to eat the raw food and we didn’t even receive the correct order (smoked salmon and egg brioche)… really poor and disgusting from a place i previously respected for its ability to maintain the quality in their food, however i didn’t know that once i left, raw meat would be served. foods all frozen anyways so i don’t understand why it’s so hard to make correctly 🤡 if you’ve been told it’s “fresh” you’re being sold dreams. Check your food if you order online or come into tasteology …

My favourite thing on the menu at the moment is the MC² Burger and the Mediterranean toast. I'm working my way through the menu 😋😅. Cant praise the staff enough for making me feel welcome. I'll be back soon with my family.

While the kids were at school on one fine morning, we decided to go for breakfast. A quick Google search for a halal breakfast place near our area, and we opted for this place, and it was the best decision we made. We loved it so much that we had to take the children over the weekend for brunch. First time round we had a full English breakfast and shakshuka. Hubby loved his full English. However, I was not keen on my choice. Had some macarons, which were lush. The second time round we took kids and had french toast for kids and three breakfast wraps for hubby and older two kids. I had the Mediterranean toast, and man it was the best with sour dough and avocado, fried eggs and salad. The kids had hot chocolate and we had tea. My older son had a spiced chai latte which was absolutely beautiful and my older daughter had an iced latte. Everything was 10/10. Prices were decent, and the food was high quality, and the quantity was just right. The hospitality and warm welcome will definitely bring us there again soon.

Absolutely a must try breakfast restaurant(Halal options). The staff are very friendly, the food is dam good yummy. I have tried different things: the traditional english breakfast, the upgraded Shakshouka and the eggs& chees bun. All of them were really yummy. My advice is : do not stick to the traditional English breakfast but try different things from the menu. The atmosphere is great, the decorations are unique and modern. The music were lovely. Be careful: it becomes very crowded on Weekends so make sure to arrive early.

I came here for the first time a few days ago, the menu was diverse with many attractive options. Luckily the owner was super accommodating and helpful, he suggest I try the “upgraded shakshuka”, which comes with marguez sausages and poached eggs, and sourdough bread. Whilst I waited for my meal to arrive, I ordered a flat white. The beans were freshly ground and the coffee itself was made perfectly. Definitely one of my favourites. My food arrived, and it looked amazing; it’s refreshing to see the chef care about the presentation. The shakshuka itself was amazing, well seasoned and tasty, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly, and the sausages were out of this world. We left this place extremely satisfied and I plan on coming here again the next time I’m in Birmingham. Kudos to the staff and owner.

I have been coming here since it has opened. The owner is super friendly and the food is amazing and very unique compared to other brunch spots. You can tell a lot of passion and effort when into crafting the menu and recipes. On mornings I usually go for the the Royal Breakfast, which is loaded with delicious foods like guacamole and hummus, and arabic sausages. The mushrooms and tomatoes are super yummy as well. For afternoon lunch I usually go for the chef’s special pasta which is tasty and the serving size is generous. I’m usually spoilt for choice every time I come here. I highly recommend!

I would absolutely recommend this cafe, not only do they serve the best coffee I have ever had in my entire life & that’s on being a coffee connoisseur but they also serve the most fresh, quality & flavourful food in Birmingham. Honestly would recommend anyone & everyone to go. To top it off the service & hospitality is also amongst the best I have ever received at an eatery. Honestly a flawless experience from start to finish, not a single thing to improve on. Just perfect!

Came across this local restaurant by accident - happy we did - the food was fresh and tasty and inexpensive/good value for money. The three of us had the various pasta options with choice of sauces and accompanying garlic bread, plus the skin on fries (the latter of which were on a deal to include a soft drink). Food arrived promptly considering it was freshly prepared. The coffee was also good, with plenty of choice for both iced and hot coffees, teas and soft drinks. Sadly didn't get chance to sample the deserts/cakes, as we were full, but they looked lovely, as did the burgers and breakfast items that other customers had ordered. Chap serving, presumably the owner, was friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and plan to return.

Recently visited this restaurant for breakfast. To be fair I was excited as I hear they had a fabulous breakfasts. On arrival it was located in a not so easy to find location! I did was small and dainty. It was a bit cold first thing. Staff were nice and on hand. When I order I order their shakehuka egg (regular) and the sourdough to go. I also add turkey bacon on with it. The food arrived hot and was actually very nice. But I wouldn’t order it again. I had English tea which was also very hot and nice for the morning. I finally ordered their macarons which seem off they were NOT fresh and seemed like it had been sitting for a while, so that was disappointing!! To be the breakfast was ok for the price but won’t late be going back! Ended up being sick that mornin👎🏻 😫

I have been to tasteology several times recently and i have tried the royal breakfast and it is a whole new idea and a very special concept regarding breakfast and there fresh home made burgers,pastas are fabulous where you can feel that it has been cooked only for you. I went through half of the menu so far and it is just amazing and affordable comparing to other brunches and cafes in the high street regarding the quality they provide. People working there are so friendly and they always make sure you get a discount if you are a student or first time visiting. The atmosphere is so cozy and so welcoming and very clean it is a real hidden gem hope fussy people does not destroy it. Keep it up guys you have got our full support Good luck👌

A wholesome and welcoming cafe. Not sure what was better; the food or customer service? It’s rare to find a place that excels in both areas in Birmingham. In particular loved the iced coffee and hummus with my vegan breakfast. A hidden gem that deserves all the credit.

Visited Tasteology today and was pleasantly surprised to say the least. Ordered 2 Royal breakfast to eat in with the wife and it was outstanding!! The merguez sausages were amazing! The fresh juice is a must in particular the apple and ginger juice which was recommended. Service was warm and friendly. Will definitely visit again!!

Came in this indulge place today, the place is well modern and classy at the same time, warm and relaxing seating, came in the morning for a breakfast and ordered turkey and egg brunch breakfast, it was cooked and tasted at its finest, it did not take long to serve, good customer service and communication, reasonable price and good size portion, will visit again when in area, thank you for experiences today

Amazing flavours, great service. The owner really cares about the food and has pride in explaining the menu. I had the Royal breakfast and the merguez sausage was amazing. Also 5 stars for the coffee, best cappuccino i have had in a long time. Definitely worth the trip off the high street to visit.

Well ! Hear me out please. I went to this place when this was newly opened I guess two years back and after that honestly speaking, there has never been a let down. Form cleanliness to service, sense of respect, taste, food with the sensation of being cooked home, I mean from deserts to breakfast, from coffee to teas and most importantly the owner (Brother) is just a super thorough gentleman. I went with the family today and boy was the food good ! Next level. High streets are full of units selling food, I mean so called food, if you want to enjoy food with simplicity, this is the place. Well, this is my second time. It was the menu item "Anomaly Bagel" that caught my eye - and so a detour after parkrun to Tasteology. The cafe seems a little out of place - but when I recall this is "Harborne Borders" I suspect folks make a special trip rather than just popping in when passing by. There also seems to be a steady stream of Deliveroo etc. orders. The menu has lots of interesting options - and might be described as North African influenced - my bagel was topped by expertly cooked poached eggs (soft and tender), fried halloumi (squeaky rubbery - as it should be) and avocado "something" (smooth and viscous) - I'm not sure what was blended with the avocado - but it was scrummy. Tasty salad trimmings as well. I guess the anomaly is that all these different tastes and textures work so well together. and down to the chef delivering on the "-ology" in the cafe name. Someone has clearly thought hard about the ambiance - with classic French music playing softly, coffee served in a glass and decor/fittings not out of place on a corniche somewhere a lot closer to the Mediterranean sea than just over the border from Weoley Castle. Please do check the cafe will be open before visiting - there are periods of closure/altered times - which delayed my first visit earlier this year. As Arnie says "I'll be back".

The man who I’m assuming is the owner was so sweet. I came in late last week. Kitchen was closed and I only came to have the food. He was very nice and opened up the kitchen to quickly make me something. Customer service was amazing and the food was even better. 100% recommend. Don’t turn up late like me
