First and last time I will use this restaurant. Order took over 2 hours to deliver which I accept can happen but when I rang to enquire where/ when my food was arriving the staff member couldn’t care less and was extremely rude and dismissive. Strongly suggest you stay well clear. When food eventually arrived, delivery driver was apologetic but was cold. Avoid.

Ordered online directly from the restaurant, food came on time and was really nice, we had popadoms and a mix of veggie starters/ mains- will definitely order again, the food was really fresh.

I gave this place 5 stars years ago i had to get refund as all the veg and meats were off and it stank my apartment out aswell as making me sick and ill all last night just from the tiny bits i tried to eat i got my refund and to give them credit they admitted i was correct and that they'd thrown away the off items iv ate there since it was indian delights which was absolutely beautiful fresh food but whats going on there right now is as wrong as it gets

I ordered a meal from this restaurant through Uber Eats. It was the worst Indian I have ever eaten and I’ve had many in my 61 years! The Onion Bhajis were soaked in oil, the Keema Nan had no Keema, the Popadoms were soggy and you couldn’t break them, the Pilau rice was soggy boiled rice and the King Prawn Bhuna was watery with small frozen shrimps. I won’t continue but please do not use this so called restaurant if you wish to have a Indian. Photos available on request 🙈

Decent food. Takeaway service the worst of the worst. For a Friday night they have one driver who is a really nice guy but they are always always late. Then when you try and check on a delivery time they don’t pick up the phone. This happens direct and with eg Deliveroo as they don’t use Deliveroo drivers. Deliveroo can’t even get in touch with them. Not just a few mins late either. 45 mins to 1.5hours quite normal for them. Avoid.

Terrible Experience - Don't Order Here! I had a really bad time with this restaurant . I ordered food for delivery, and guess what? They canceled my order after making me wait for 30 whole minutes! It's like they don't care at all. This place is not professional. They couldn't even deliver on time, and then they just canceled without telling me why. It's so frustrating. I suggest you find another place to order from. Don't make the same mistake I did. There are lots of other places that treat customers better and won't leave you hungry and annoyed. I won't be giving them another chance, and you shouldn't either. Awful service, really disappointing.

Had a meal at the taste of India this weekend. Young lad at the till extremely friendly and quality of service was fantastic. Food was amazing curries tasted brilliant and the Tandoori oven food was perfect. Must try food at The taste of India well worth it.

Food never arrived after 2 hours 30 mins and had to get a refund from deliveroo after the restraunt lying to me multiple times ro say food will be here in a couple of mins. AVOID AVOID AVOID

Took almost one and a half hours to arrive, twice as long as they said. Food was nice. They should have told us it would be late so we could have a biscuit or something. Lack of politeness to update us is mainly why the review is low. Poppadoms need a tiny 85p onion and a tiny 80p chutney for every 85p poppadom. This makes for very expensive poppadoms. Others give enough onion and chutney for the 3 poppadoms we ordered. Couldn't possibly have put the onion and chutney in smaller containers. It should say on the menu that their sides are only big enough for 1 poppadom. Otherwise, it was nice. Next time we will use our own chutney and onion and order 2 hours before we plan to eat.

Chicken biryani was mushy and tasteless, 'chicken' was a strange taste, dry and plastic. King prawn tandoori, specifically ordered a main and received 3 king prawns!! Complete rip off.

Absolutely shocking. Ordered via just eat and order never arrived. When I contacted the restaurant after it was about 1 hour late, I was told that all orders were out for delivery and it should be there soon. It never came so I called them again and was told that the delivery driver had delivered it so we should contact Just Eat about a refund if we were not happy. Absolutely unacceptable customer service. I will never be ordering from them again and I advise others not too either.

Ordered food early, and have called 3 times in the last 2 and a half hours to chase it up. Just been told it has been delivered, which it hasn’t. They were bothered at all, and just said to apply for a refund through Just Eat. Absolutely unacceptable as it is now 8.45pm and we have no dinner and they don’t care in the slightest

Both my husband and son were really ill after a takeaway last Saturday, up lots of times in the night with diarrhoea. I went in to speak to the manager today and his attitude was basically that we couldn't prove it was their food. Fair enough but it was a massive coincidence as I wasn't ill and I was the only one not to eat the takeaway. He wasn't interested and said that if we wanted a refund, then we should have returned the food! I think the sign of a good business is how they react to a complaint. And this guy simply didn't care. We don't live far from Taste of India but we'll never, ever go there again

Ordered here at 19:05 and had the estimated delivery for 20:00 to 20:20 and it’s currently 21:40 and it still hasn’t arrived. I called up and asked for a full refund as it was getting too late so had to order from somewhere else. Their response was “Ok” and put the phone down. Not even a sorry or anything. Terrible service

I wrote this review on the correct restaurant. This review is meant for The Taste Of India restaurant at 6 Greenwood Street, Altrincham, WA14 1RZ. The worst take away I ever had. Placed an order for delivery within 1 hours. Received the delivery after 3 hours! People on the phone are so rude and arrogant.

This is review is related to our Uber Eats order on 19/09/2022 @17:00. The staff who was attending phones from 17:30 - 19:30 was really rude and abusive!. Our order was delayed 3 hours and finally we got it around 8 PM. This review is for Taste Of India, 6 Greenwood St, Altrincham WA14 1RZ. Poor quality food and worst people on phone! They never pick up phone calls and if they do so, they speak very rudely. Staffs are very hostile.

This relating to the staff on phone around 6 PM on 19/09. He was very arrogant and rough and kept the phone down! Better you advise your staff to be polite with customer on phone. Very poor food in quality and quantity. Very rude and arrogant staffs! Staffs on phone shouts at you. The member of staff I spoke on 19/09 @17:42 was so rude and unprofessional.

So disappointed! I only order biryani from takeaways because I want the curry sauce that's supposed to come with it. With this order, there was none. I can just about forgive the lack of salad - there was none of that either, but no sauce? Unforgivable! Paid £6.95 for slightly flavoured vegetable rice!

I've struggled to find a real first class take away curry since moving near Altrincham 15 years ago. It may just be my personal tastes but tonight I found the best Madras I've had in years. A Madras, Tikka and Korma shared by the family with other rice and sides and all were first class. They even threw in a few unexpected extras for free. Lovely staff, clean establishment and excellent food. I would highly recommend this place 👌🏻

Don't bother - order completely mixed up - food late, cold and less than average

Shish kebab starter, unnatural red colour, added sugar. Tarka deal, sloppy and tasteless. Added sugar. Bombay fish. Dark red mush, added sugar. King prawn curry, added sugar. Naan breads dried out and crispy. Rice was fine. Why all the added sugar?? Not going there again. The only really good curry house in this area is Rosassi.

Placed order at 9.45 was told delivery would be 23.10. Order never arrived and they were closed by time I chased it. Their Facebook page had option to WhatsApp them which I did. They almost immediately read the message and then ignored it. No apology. No explanation. If you want to gamble if your food will arrive then go ahead

This was the first time that me and my the Mrs had something from here. We just have to say this was the best curry we have had in the last couple of years. The food was absolutely delicious,hot, and plenty of. They said it was gonna be an hour it was about 45mins,but I no it won't be always early if they are busy which people's have to understand. Definatly getting from there again and again. Even the driver stayed and explained everything they will change if you want. Thanks for a top meal

Ordered a curry tonight. A few other bits too. It arrived and said it was £25.80. On the menu it came to about 18 tops . I didn't think anything of it until I counted it up . There.were.biys in the order I didn't ask for and about 20 poppadoms which I think.i paid for . I've tried calling them.to ask why the high price and they won't answer . Curry was bog standard . Don't touch this place with a barge pole they rip you off . Ill be going in the shop tomorrow to pay them a visit

Excellent, freshly prepared indian food.

Really good curry. One of the best take away curries we've had in Manchester. Big portions, good flavour, not too oily. Highly recommended.

Where do I start.. It looks like the chef doesnt know how to cook vegetarian food at all. The vegetables were undercooked and raw in Veg karahi.. The spinach stank of fish in the saag paneer and the icing on the cake was the boiled egg in Veg Biryani (I am a vegetarian).. I thought I'll give it a try as they offered 20% discount. Now I know why.. Never gonna order again

The tastiest, freshest food food served by enthusiastic professional staff. We collected, but delivery is an option. We wouldn't go anywhere else now! A gem of a find to perk up the bleakness of lockdown!

Ordered a meal last night (9.45pm) and was told we'd have it in 30-40 mins. Almost an hour later no sign of it - I called them and the number just rang out. I tried several times and still no answer. The meal never came. Really poor. I should have read other reviews as it seems this happens a lot. WHY OFFER "FREE DELIVERY" IF YOU CAN'T BE BOTHERED TO DO SO??????

I ordered my food at 10.35pm it is now 00.13 tried ringing numerous times saying it is closed I dont want my food over hour n a half later if it actually come...????

I have always loved Taste of India, the kitchen is completely open and you can simply stand and watch your meal being prepared. The tandoor oven is only a couple of feet behind the counter and it's amazing watching someone who knows how to use it. Great range of dishes available and authentic Indian cooking, never had a bad meal from here, and it's my "go to" takeaway for Indian food.
