TAS RESTAURANT FETTER LANE in City of London, Westminster - Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews

High up on the wall of this restaurant, is a plaque dedicated to the Unity of the Brethren or the Moravians. They established their chapel on this spot back in 1750's and worshiped there until it was destroyed by a bomb in World War II. The church then relocated to their "God's Acre" or graveyard off the King's Road in Chelsea. Perhaps part the Moravian legacy of this place is that it remains the seat of justice for the UK with many legal chambers and offices nearby.

I am a student studying at King's. Each week I come here a few times for either lunch or dinner since the food is nice and served in big portions. The restaurant has this calm atmoshpere with quiet traditional Turkish music in the background. The waiters started recognising me after the first week and were really nice in helping me with selecting food that I would like.

Every time I want to get a nice hot meal for dinner, this is the place I go to. Since I enjoy Turkish food a lot, I've visited all of the chain's restaurants. This one, next to the Maughan Library, I personally think serves the best quality food compared to the other locations of the chain. When you go there 2-3 consecutive times, the staff starts recognising you and is always keen to help you with you choice. Would reccomend to anyone to try it once and decide for themselves.

Food was very good especially the meat options where the meat is so soft compared to other places where they serve hard meats. The service was also good and the restaurant is usually busy and it's preferable to book in advance for weekends and late evenings to avoid messing out.

Great food great atmosphere staff are very friendly

I dined here alone. This is probably the best Turkish restaurant I have eaten in here in london. Everything was fresh and expertly prepared. Good service also. it is quiet and not too busy on a Monday.

Really good and authentic Turkish food!

The TAS chain is not known for haute cuisine but in the past it’s served decent and moderately priced food. I used to frequent the one on the Cut. This branch however was a huge let-down. Food quality was very low. Some of the main dishes were disgusting. How can a Turkish restaurant screw up grilled meat?! (and the last eight 5-star reviews are from Turkish people with only one review to their name - come on, this is clearly cheating!)

This little gem in the heart ofthe city is great!

Went with a group for lunch and we made reservations. It wasn't busy at all which was great. We enjoyed the started but not the mains. I have this a 3 star because even though this isn't my preferred cuisine, I still enjoyed food from Haz a lot but not here. If you're very hungry, it works but if you're looking for a whole experience, maybe not...I can't comment on price as lunch was sponsored.

Ex excellent cozy Turkish restaurant for Lunch after Jumma prayers at the nearby masjid. Very good lentil soup, grest fish and salads to your heart fill. Courteous staff, great sidelines, memorable mint tea..

3 of us had lunch on a normal weekday. The restaurant was moderately busy but certainly not full. We ordered reasonably quickly but had to wait about 40 minutes for our food. The table (of 2) next to us ordered moments before us but received their food long before us, so much so that they had almost finished altogether when our starters arrived. After we finished the meze, we had to wait again for our main course. All in all, the meal took 1.45 hours which was considerably longer than I had anticipated or wished. The food itself was ok but nothing to write home about. Prices are what you would expect. The staff were friendly enough but that did not compensate for the long wait.

last week we came with my friends on Thursday. service was standard, the food was very tasty. Although it was busy, we were surprised that 2 people were working in the kitchen. I wanted olive for the 2nd time, but it didn't come.

Extortionately priced for the quantity and quality of food served. Service was poor, lacklustred and made it seem as though they didn't even want to be there.

Guys.. I never had Such a horrible food in my life.. The lamb really dry and bland..the mezzes was ok)the waiter forgot about our drinks (for 15 mins)he was busy on his phone(just 2 tables were eating),we ask a recommendation for dessert and were also disappointed..won’t come back easily!

Lovely restaurant with lots of space. The menu is varied with many options. I had chicken skewers which were cooked deliciously and round the table a mixed grill and sea bass were also enjoyed. Would visit again.

Great company for lunch but unfortunately the restaurant let us all down. Far too noisy and they had run out of moussaka which two of us had wanted to order. Oh and the replacement dish wasn't great.

I have been here a few times and today stopped off for lunch with a friend. They give their customers complementary bread, a dip, and some olives when they sit down which is a very nice touch. The food is of a good standard, and the Turkish house wine is of decent quality. The grilled meat dishes with couscous or rice are excellent bets, and both the set menus and the a la carte menu give diners a wide range of food to choose. The staff are pleasant and helpful.

Menu is very misleading it is very unclear on prices for goods on the menu. Of the food on the menu the fine print gives no mention of how portions as split. The portions are rather small for a Turkish restaurant.

Enjoyable and reasonably priced meal from set price menu. Starters were lovely, but the chicken casserole was rather salty.

Very average food at this restaurant. The lamb beyti was very dry and didn’t taste very fresh - the salad it came with consisted of some raw onion rather than the usual awesome selection of salad normally found in Turkish restaurants. As a result the main meal consisted of some dry meat, couscous (which was also quite dry) and some raw onion. Not a very appealing meal. The starters of calamari and filo pastry parcels we ok. The restaurant was very quiet - I can understand why having eaten the food. The restaurant decor was really nice however!

I see a few poor reviews of this restaurant but when we went we had really tasty food and pleasant service at a reasonable cost. I'm no expert in Turkish cuisine but everything was fresh and tasted great. It's a large restaurant and wasn't very full at lunchtime. So the atmosphere was a little cold but I guess that will change as more people get to know it. Definitely worth a visit if you want a full meal

Un lugar ideal para disfrutar de un cálido té turco y un poco de música folk turca antigua, justo lo que necesitaba mientras realizaba mi recorrido a pie por Wesleys London, puede encontrar esta placa al salir del restaurante, gire a la derecha y está del lado del restaurante bastante arriba. El lado del edificio, no te lo puedes perder.

I came here last night with my partner for a meal after work. Absolute waste of time. When we arrived around 7pm there was only one other table dining. The restaurant is very nice and appears clean but there is just no atmosphere or ambience. We did the meal deal with two mezze starters, a main and a drink for £20. In theory this is a good deal but the food wasn’t up to scratch. We were greeted with warm bread and 4 olives which were very nice. For starters I had an aubergine dish in tomato sauce which should be a hot dish, but the chef clearly couldn’t be bothered to reheat it. I also had the hummus which was nice. For mains I had the veggie stew which came in a pool of oil. It was almost like a cup of sunflower oil had been poured on top of my vegetables. Please see photo. I just sat playing with it a nibbling it throughout the meal. Absolutely disgusting that any chef thinks this is edible. When the waiter took our plates away he could clearly see the oil and did apologise and offered me any dish on the menu but I refused as I felt nauseous from the food and quite frankly the chef can’t cook. Hummus and bread isn’t cooking!! The manager did take the main course of the bill, but it wasn’t worth it as I still had to pay for my two starters at full price. Plus I’ll never get my time back. I will never set foot in this restaurant again. It’s a shame as the restaurant is super convenient for staff lunches and client visits for my partner! This deserves one star but I don’t have it in me to be so brutal!

Held a work Xmas party here and Nas and her team were absolutely fantastic

The food here was very tasty and the service was excellent. The evin set menu is good value for money. The fig based dessert was scummy and not sickly sweet.

Basically, there was a bit of confusion about the menus, so my parents kindly requested to change their order literally within LESS THAN 30 SECONDS. The Waiter was extremely aggressive about this, and took it so personally, started venting loudly to us about how annoyed he was etc. Now, I understand this may be inconvenient, and people can get stressed. However, this was LITERALLY WITHIN 30 seconds,and my parents were presented with group menus only, so did not realise there was an individual menu also. My parents also requested this change politely and apologised for the inconvenience. FYI only one other group was in the restaurant so not like it was even busy at the time. In any case, there was no excuse for this kind of behavior from the waiter anyway. At the end, when we received the bill, the waiter got even more aggressive and demanded we tip him because he apparently provided amazing service and told us he feels offended, and why don't we appreciate him, making it very personal etc. Some of the food was also under-cooked. This was also meant to be for a special occasion as family were visiting. Luckily, we kept a positive attitude, and did not let this get us down. Never coming back though. Deserves 0 stars, not even 1. I will say though, that I had a much more positive experience with the Bloomsbury branch, so this is not a reflection of the service of the other branches

I would NEVER recommend this restaurant - the service is HORRIBLE and the waiter is RUDE. Tas was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT where there is NO RESPECT FOR THE CUSTOMER. I went to Tas on Fetter Lane on August 21, 2018 with my family - the service was terrible and the food mediocre. We were a party of 6 and there were no more than 5 other customers spread throughout the huge restaurant. Despite that the waiter seemed so troubled and inconvenienced by our presence. We asked a few questions about the group menu which the waiter was unable to answer clearly but ordered a dish from it - within a minute we flagged our waiter and told him that we didn’t really understand the group menu and that we’d like to change our order. His response was that’s impossible for him because he put it into the system. When we pushed and insisted, impossible became “very difficult for me.” But we had to make him do it - it wasn’t even a minute! We ordered off the normal menu and the only time we saw our waiter was the 30 second window of him serving our dishes. Never really came through to check in, nor to fill the pitcher of water at our table that was empty from after our arrival. When the check came around we did not want to pay the optional service charge based on the atrocious service - the waiter came and DEMANDED that we pay the service charge. We told him that “it was not a pleasant experience for us” and without even batting an eyelid he responded “Was not for me either.” Who speaks to their customers like that? We were respectful throughout every interaction and there was absolutely no reason for anyone to treat us that way. It was as if the burden of having to change an order within a minute was world shattering. I have never seen changing an order been such a big fuss as I did at Tas.

Great food. Good value. Menu can be hard to navigate

No real ambience, no music and it all felt just a little bit awkward. The only redeeming thing was the food which was rather quite nice.

Went for dinner with a group of friends. Average food and a bit overpriced to be a Turkish. You can find tastier and cheaper Turkish restaurants in dalston.

Tas restaurant - tasty Turkish food at a good price. Set in a quiet area of the city in the evening. A picture of skyscrapers, near the law courts. Good area to visit.

Brilliant location near the British museum and Oxford st. Not far from Tottenham court road tube. Excellent food and service. Good to go with friends. Lovely Turkish hospitality.

Lovely modern Turkish cuisine. We first came with a large group of nine and had a flawless evening. Great food and atmosphere and it was very reasonable. We’ll be returning soon

Wasn't sure what to rate it - some dishes are 5 star, others are no more than 2. The wait staff are friendly enough, but not particularly informative or able to advise on the menu. One of the dishes containing aubergine and beef chunks had a good flavour but the beef chunks were of a poor cut, very dry and gristly. The starters are excellent.

Service good. Starters were very good and sadly the hummus was the least of them. All main courses were applauded. Wine was enjoyable.

Nice food, friendly staff. A bit slow, but it was rush hour.

Exquisite down to detail. The share plates were abundant for a party of three and the menu contains advice for allergies and diets. The moussaka could have been better and precisely not very rich in aubergine. The other mains met the expectations. The service was very polite and helpful. The restaurant got very busy in a couple of minutes and only then the waiters were not always there when we needed them. But that is the price for popularity. All these establishments in the area are surrounded by bespoke companies and preferred by top earners. You're better off starting your lunch there before 12.30, after 2pm, or another time if you are not local.

Good menu and service for a friends reunion where one of us needed to get back to work. Tried the two course menu which all of us found something suitable. It let itself down by its staff’s attitude when a scarf of mine of sentimental value was handed over to the reception but not handed back. Still waiting for head office to contact me. Would have given it a good rating otherwise.

We have wanted to try this restaurant for some time as we pass it frequently and it looks interesting from the outside. Booking is a challenge as if it is done on line, staff are supposed to contact you by phone or email to confirm - they didn't so I had to phone up to ensure that our booking was in the system - it didn't appear to be so be warned. On arrival we were made to feel welcome - it was very early evening and the place was empty - and a table was arranged for us. There was a problem - the odour of drains from the lavatories was of such a strength and richness (being polite here) that we had to move to a table some distance away. I don't expect to have that description of experience in a restaurant in the City. The food however was excellent - going for the set dinner menu with two mezes each as a starter with delicious bread, a choice of about five main courses - we went for the simple lamb or chicken grill with couscous and a decent glass of wine for under £20 each. Staff were very attentive and since we were pressed for time did managed to serve everything within the appropriate timescale. We will I am sure be going back.

Cuando llegamos a las 12. 30, un grupo estaba en su apogeo y era bastante ruidosa. El ruido atenuado cuando el partido de izquierda a medio camino a través de nuestra comida. Nos tomó unos 10 minutos para que alguien tome nuestra orden de comida, el restaurante estaba lleno y un poco escaso. Elegimos el menú a £13. sahan 95, de los cuales 3 de nosotros una sopa de lentejas y la cuarta un perejil, tomate, cebolla y ensalada de trigo agrietado. La sopa llegó en un estado tibia. El pan casero y aceite eran proporcionadas como parte del menú y una recarga obtenidos, para lo cual se hizo sin cargo extra. La ensalada de perejil muy fuertemente probado de perejil. A continuación, tres de nosotros tuvimos mussaka con verduras y la otra de espinacas y patatas. Los platos principales eran excelentes en calidad, pero la porción de mussaka era escaso. Después pedimos un doble espresso, un té de menta fresca, moca y un café descafeinado con leche y este restaurante recibe una buena nota para poder proporcionar todo eso. Sin embargo, un aspecto negativo fue el 12. 5 por ciento. Con ello, la factura para cuatro, incluyendo una botella de agua de aguja en 3 libras. 95, llegó a 78 libras. 13. Este es un lugar que me lo intentaría de nuevo, con la esperanza de poder informar de una experiencia mejor que la media, me pareció simplemente se merece por ser bueno en algunas partes y pobre en otros y moderada relación calidad-precio.

I'm lucky to work across the road from Tas. I've been a few times and would highly recommend it. Anytime I've gone nobody I've dined with has ever had anything other than good things to say about the food. Good veggie options also.

Gorgeous decor, fantastic food. The prawns and the lamb kofte, in particular, were very good, and the roast peppers + feta was amazing!

Was rather disappointed in the food, chicken in the salad was tasteless, patatas bravas were okay but not all evenly cooked. Wine was good. They do offer a lot of menu choices so perhaps I just chose the wrong items. Service was quick.

Con el personal impactó bastante en este restaurante. Reservamos y no nos dijeron que teníamos que pedir de grupo el conjunto del menú. Cuando en 3 de las 11 personas que pidieron el menú normal debido a alergias a la orden fueron recibidos con grosera torpe respuestas inútil, hacer todo el mundo en la mesa de sentir muy incómoda. Acordaron permitir que 2 de los 3 a tomar el menú independiente.

I went here for a corporate lunch on Friday and we were really disappointed with the service and the food. The lady who showed us to the table was unfriendly and arrogant. Our server didn't understand what we were saying and the food quality was really bad as well. Their presentation was good, but highly advice that you check your food especially meats before eating. We ordered grill chicken and both orders were undercooked. The chicken was pink from inside. We sent our dish back to be cooked properly, and again when it was sent out it wasn't completely properly done. We also ordered a few appetisers that were okay but could have been warmer. I wouldn't go to this place again or recommend this restaurant.

El mezze (entrantes) eran de un nivel alto, especialmente el borek pasteles y ensaladas. Tried this place for a quick business lunch. I wanted to try one of the mezze deals for two, which look excellent value, but unfortunately my friend said she was gluten-intolerant and the waiter said none of the selections would be appropriate for her.Instead I had three mezze dishes, which gave me a smaller selection at a much higher cost. One dish, fried eggs with oak smoked beef and tomatoes, was excellent apart from flavourless tomatoes. Grilled peppers with white cheese was a mixture of peppers that had not been grilled enough to be silky and smokey, cheese in cubes when crumbled would have worked better and too much of a rather acidic sauce. Lamb and lentil kofte was two small patties tasting faintly of baby sick on a bed of undressed lettuce. Bread was cold and chewy. Service was uninterested.Not recommended.

I booked a table for 7 on the Tas Restaurant website at 11am for a 1pm table at Tas on Fetter Lane. On arrival, I was greeted by a very rude man, claiming to have never received our order. He then informed me that they hadn't checked the online orders that day and that they were too busy to fit us in. I made the suggestion of 2 tables that after 5 minutes thinking about it, he finally offered us. On sitting at the 2 tables, the same waiter brought out their set menu,charging £23.50 each. As everyone else in the restaurant had the a la carte menu, we asked for this as well and were told "no". We decided enough was enough and we started to walk out by which point he deiced that we could have the a la carte menu, Needless to say, none of us were in any mood to spend a penny in Tas and will be avoiding moving forwards. I've eaten in Tas before and the food is okay. I understand they were busy but a semblance of any customer service would have been appreciated as opposed to rood, unhelpful "service". Very disappointing.

The food and service were absolutely fine. The only downside was the closeness of all the tables and the inherent lack of space and resulting noise. But it was a Friday evening. An enjoyable meal nonetheless.

Authentic Turkish Cuisine, good generous portions and lovely atmosphere. This one has more of a modern feel and i would have business dinners here.

Came for a business lunch. The mixed starters were so-so and bread was not that good at all, and at least not good enough for a Turkish restaurant. Prawns casserole was rather good but lamb was a bit awful - very surprising for a Turkish restaurant. Ice-cream was flavoursome but texture was terrible!

Service was good, but manager's behave was awful. She shouted at waiter on our eyes and was very rude with us.

We arrived about noon for an early lunch without a booking and got a table with no difficulty although I noticed there were quite a few reserved tables (which is a good sign). We had the lunch menu, £19 for 2 mezze, a main course and a drink each, which was tasty and good value. There was also bread, olives and dip before the meal.We could not fault the service even when the restaurant began to get quite busy. I would certainly recommend this for lunch (note: there is a 12.5% service charge added to the bill).

I came here with a work colleague for lunch. We ordered our food mine was mix grill and shortly after olives, humous and bread arrived which was soft and tasty. It took roughly 15mins for food to arrive and tasted really fresh my bill cost £18 incl soft drink. Turkish delights arrive at the end which were soft and sweet.

I went to Tas with 6 colleagues. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food came very quickly and tasted delicious. I may have eaten too much because the food was too good to waste. I would go there again.

I ate here for the first time early Friday evening. The restaurant has beautiful decor and the staff were friendly.Ordered a dish which was pasta with chicken in a pepper sauce which was nice, not overpowering though could have done with more seasoning.Dessert was chocolate cake which I'd describe more of a chocolate mousse cake, it was nice though a little rich so perhaps could have been served with simple turkish ice cream rather than the tiny drizzle of cream.I'd go here again

The food and service was excellent, second to none! Really good value for quality as well. A must for diners in the area!

This is hands down the WORST restaurant experience I have ever had! Approx 15 of my friends and colleagues arranged a surprise birthday lunch for me at Taz in Fetter Lane as we all work a few mins away. It took 45 mins to get our starters. Which was a COLD mezze, so how that happened was beyond me as there was no cooking to do. About half an hour in we asked a waitress if things could be hurried up as we all needed to get back to work. Unfortunately, her lack of urgency meant that this request went unnoticed. After going back and forth with different staff we requested to speak to the manager. He came over and began ARGUING with a colleague of mine when she challenged him on the level of service the restaurant had provided us with. He constantly spoke over her advising that upon making the reservation she should have said that we would be coming at lunch time so they could speed up, which is ridiculous. To which she responded that no one advised that that would necessary even though she had spoken to several different people to book the table and that regardless of that as 'normal' everyday service for a restaurant, waiting this long for starters was absolutely ridiculous. He told us that he would remove the service charge at which point we advised that this wasn't sufficient as service charge is discretionary to the customer and we had now been waiting 45 mins. We requested that we'd leave the remaining starters and have our mains to go, which subsequently took another 25 mins. I then got involved asking the manager why he felt my guests should pay full price for a meal that we couldn't enjoy in the comfort of the restaurant and starters that we didn't even get to eat and he began SNIGGERING and SMILING at me whilst I was speaking. I have never experienced such poor service from such unprofessional, disrespectful staff who all lack empathy, urgency and any customer service skills whatsoever. I would strongly advise that no one visits this restaurant. Staff need training and standard need to be risen significantly!
