Great location, just opposite the Opera House. Food was delicious, with very attentive service, and a relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend all that we had ... For starters: French onion soup and baked brie Mains: Boeuf Bourguignon and Chicken Paillard Dessert: I really enjoyed my creme brulee, but also had dessert envy for the Cheesecake, which was also delicious Highly recommended, and look forward to visiting again.

Whilst my wife was satisfied with her meal my fish and chips was not good. Soggy batter and bland and probably frozen fish was not good enough. I couldn't eat it.

I recently took a group from Japan to Boulevard Brasserie in London for afternoon tea before our backstage tour at the Royal Opera House. The location was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect—exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional British setting. For my clients from Japan, it was their first time in the UK, and their expectations for a classic afternoon tea experience were naturally very high. From the very first bite, I knew we had made the right choice. The presentation and flavours were absolutely outstanding, and the scones—without a doubt—were the best I’ve ever had. Light, fluffy, and melt-in-the-mouth perfection! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making our visit even more special. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we nearly lost track of time and almost missed our backstage tour! We will definitely be returning—thank you for such a wonderful experience!

My set menu was reasonable, although my partner's fish and chips was poor. Poor quality fish. The problem was service. I ordered a dessert, and asked the waiter for two coffees to follow. The coffees arrived promptly before the dessert, brought by a different waiter. Not really a major problem, although I did point out that we wanted the coffees after my dessert. Then the first waiter appeared asking what the problem was. I said there was no problem. I pointed out that I had asked for coffees after my dessert. His reply was " well the dessert comes from upstairs!" So what? His attitude was extremely aggressive and confrontational. The management of this restaurant needs to teach it's staff the meaning of customer service. Obviously, no apology offered. We will not be returning.

Excellent French restaurant, reminded us of happy times in Paris. Staff very friendly and efficient. Food excellent. Plenty of seating on three floors but is very busy. Although busy food was served quickly and was fresh and hot.

Horrible experience. The host ignored us the moment we entered in, and we were shoved into the smallest table despite plenty of open spots. Our waitor who was pretending to be French was blatantly racist—ignoring us, serving others first, and bringing our food cold after a long wait. Even getting the bill took forever. To top it off, when I paid, he loudly acted shocked that a woman was paying instead of my boyfriend. The sexism and racism were unreal. If you're a person of color, avoid this place. They don’t even try to hide their bias.

With 50% off food deal, this was a great value meal with our favourite French classics. We’ve been coming to the restaurant for 2-3 decades & whilst portions might not be as large as they once were, the dishes are still delicious.

After some five weeks' closure for kitchen reconstruction, they've finally reopened. The menu hasn't so much changed as been pruned: old, seemingly permanent favourites like Coq au vin and Steak tartare have vanished - some eight dishes in total - but with no new replacements that I could detect. I think this is a great shame; and in a restaurant as venerable as this that emphasises its reputation as an above all FRENCH brasserie, the deleted dishes strikes me as very ill-judged. They should really reconsider this. Other than that, the non-food essentials remain in the shape of exceptionally agreeable staff; and such of the menu as survived the cull is still produced to an excellent standard, well worth your visit.

This is a classy venue with really good food. I have been before and was hoping for the delicious rack of lamb but unfortunately it was not on the menu - disappointed but understandable. We had 50% off all food and order steaks instead only to be informed that the deal applies to everything on the menu… except steaks… We stayed with the steak orders and we both ordered side dishes. We both also had dessert. Regardless of the quibble about the 50% deal on steaks it proved to be a really great deal as everything else - except drinks- was discounted. Good food, good service, good ambiance and a great deal! Thank you! Please put rack of lamb back on the menu lol

Food was overall very good. Fish and chips super yummy. Considering there was only one waiter for our floor, he did an amazing job. We were sat upstairs. Restaurant was full and way too overcrowded. No spaces between tables, constantly being bumped into by other diners, the waiter could not get through. Nowhere near enough space on the table for the items ordered.

The service - be it pre theatre, a quick lunch or the festive season in full flight - is second to none. Great value, and great fodder served with a flourish.

Lovely long lunch with an old fiend over from Australia. Could have chosen so many things from the menu. The house red was delicious and the staff were naturally very friendly. Been going here for years and will visit again soon. This restaurant has always been a joy.

Decent enough classic French menu. Starters were ok (prawn cocktail, pate). Chicken paillard was utterly fabulous. Steak was awful - mostly gristle and sinew. Service was speedy but perfunctory and felt under-staffed and stressed. Tiny table, quite cramped.

We spent New Year's Eve in this establishment with friends, but we were disappointed by the meal offered. For a price of €81.61, we expected superior quality, but unfortunately few dishes were actually good. Additionally, the air conditioning in the room was quite unpleasant, which made the ambiance less comfortable. That said, we would like to highlight the sympathy and professionalism of the waiters and waitresses, who were very pleasant throughout the evening. We hope that improvements will be made in the future to bring the experience more in line with the asking price.

This was New Year's Eve and the restaurant was busy (we had booked) but that did not detract from the excellent service. Although there was a special NYE menu, we chose from the A la Carte. All delicious.

We ate in the basement which felt very cosy. Delicious Coq au vin and the prix fixe menu was also very good and good value.

Will start by saying the food is ok for the price for the location. Had to squeeze 5 people onto a table suited for 4, a chair on the end made for uncomfortable seating and space all evening. We were given water for the table to start and waited nearly 20 minutes before we received our first and only drinks if the evening. Starters arrived 55 minutes after we were seated and ordered. 1 hour and 55 minutes after being seated, we asked how long our mains would be, while numerous tables around us were all waiting and one group left after waiting 30 minutes not to receive a drink. 2 hours and 10 mins and our mains had arrived, beef mains really lacking in beef. One of us ordered a side of potatoes to go with a sea bass, the potatoes arrives 15 minutes after the mains and after asking twice for them. At 8.40 some of us left to go catch a train home, leaving 2 others there to pay the bill, consistent with the rest of the meal, the bill was requested twice and finally paid. I have never known a basic menu take so long to serve and front of houses not speak while leaving a restaurant. Overall, nice food for price, just don't make any other plans for the evening as you make it.

I have been to this restaurant a few times and always really enjoyed the food and overall ambience. The staff are always lovely and very helpful,though on this occasion the service was a bit slower and initial order/drinks could have been taken sooner. Overall though a lovely taste of France in London!

Excellent atmospheric brasserie right in the heart of London, the set price menu seems to be good value, I had an excellent and very tasty, large, piping hot mushroom soup and a chicken main course, that was perfectly seasoned and extremely tasty. Efficient friendly service; I will certainly come again soon.

I only had a Cesar salad & it was excellent Open till late when most restaurants around theater district close! Servers helpful & polite! Excellent Music Playlist! Will come Back to taste more dishes!

Really disappointing experience the fillet steak had to be sent back to the kitchen it was gristle and fatty. Starters average, wine very good. We have visited this restaurant many times over the years and had lovely meals, but we won't be returning again.

A gem of a restaurant, we have visited a few times and never been disappointed. The service on our latest visit was excellent, especially considering how busy it was. The food as always was simple but good, the set menu is very good value. Recommend.

Just off the Strand up Wellington amongst several bars and eateries is a French restaurant that gives you a warm welcome vibe when you walk through the door. The place is busy but small so when the friendly host takes you down the stairs you think “we’ve been to the basement, nooo”. It’s just downstairs to a bigger, livelier and bustling dining area with another bar. Despite the crowd the noise level was fine. The waiter was friendly and capable. They had a Christmas menu - 3 courses - 39£. Good deal. I had a delicious duck cassoulet. My partner had Coq au vin. Both dishes delicious. Double billed for glasses of wine, easily remedied.

Very busy pre-theatre, with an excellent value set menu at £19.95 for two courses (still on, even in the run up to Christmas). Nice buzz, plus cosy and warm inside. Food was tasty, well-presented, and it was served fairly quickly. Mushroom soup especially was delicious and steaming hot. Pumpkin risotto was on the warm side as opposed to piping hot which was a shame. Staff stretched, though courteous, so we had to chase for the bill to make it to theatre on-time. Been here loads of times and will always return.

Starter was Brie wrapped in filo pastry, which was delicious. Main was disappointing, so overcooked it was mush, risotto. The risotto had pleasant flavours but the texture was like baby food. The staff were great. The location is good. Everyone else’s meals were very good.

We kept to the prix fixe menu and had a glass of champagne each. The food was tasty and well cooked. Only comment really was that the salmon starter could have done with a few crackers or some thin toast. Service was swift and attentive, despite the restaurant being busy.

A delicious meal served by a charming and efficient waitress. I especially enjoyed the Turkey on the Christmas menu and being allowed to sample the wine before ordering.

This is a favourite restaurant. Always has a welcoming friendly feel and serves very good food. It is very popular and busy. The staff are very good but extremely busy trying to look after everyone.

The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The menu had an excellent variety of dishes and wines. We were delighted with the quality of our food and the house wines. It was refreshing to be able to have a conversation without competing with music and other guests. Great acoustics. Great ambience but we were in a corner so did not get the benefit of the lovely restaurant areas or ambience. Nevertheless, we had a great dining experience. Great value amd top quality food and wines. Would recommend highly.

Sadly not a great experience tonight. Very slow service and then one of our mains didn’t arrive at all. To be fair we weren’t charged for the main that arrived once everyone else had finished their meals but the situation wasn’t helped by rather surly service and the constant difficulty of trying to attract the waiter’s attention .

We ate from the fixed price lunch menu, the food was excellent and nicely presented. Portions were very generous. Prices were very reasonable Service was a bit slow as the restaurant was very busy. Highly recommend.

A very good afternoon with friends made more enjoyable by the service and food we received. A very relaxed atmosphere, value for money, and a very good server, apologies but I do not know his name. We were booked on a table of six at 12:30 on 16th December. He was very, very good. We have been there numerous times.

An ok restaurant service good considering how busy it was waiter a little rude at times waitress brilliant. My Brie filo parcel not hot and pretty bland , boulbasse Laci g in flavour and fish , mussels and french onion soup good steak tartare tasteless , not massively expensive, however probably won’t go back

Frantically busy (and in truth far too noisy for me). But the staff, under enormous seasonal pressure, coped wonderfully, as did the soon-to-be-refurbished kitchen; and the food was its usual reliable self.

We made a reservation for the afternoon tea, but when we arrived the waiter told us that they don't do afternoon tea in December. I couldn't find this on the website, so I figured it was okay. 1 minute after we left, I got an email that my reservation was cancelled. They didn't even apologize for not letting us know beforehand.

We had a pre theatre meal, dining from a Christmas set menu as this was a Christmas get together. The set menu offered decent variety with the traditional options you would expect. It was a very busy place and booking is absolutely recommended. However, the service was very good and attentive and we comfortably had 3 courses in 2 hours allowing us plenty of time to go to the theatre. Food was in the main good. The salmon rillettes was both light and rich and a very good starter, the filo Brie was a generous portion and much enjoyed. Most opted for the turkey roast with all the trimmings and it looked a very nicely put together dish and again generous. I opted for beef bourguignon which was a little disappointing. The beef was quite dry and tough and it lacked flavour. Didn’t taste like much wine had gone into it. Puddings chosen were crème brûlée and cheese. Both pretty solid with the brûlée being very rich, and cheese is cheese. In all it was a fairly decent meal and it was an enjoyable experience, it is perfect for pre theatre. However! A brassiere that can’t do a decent beef bourguignon, come on! Sort it out.

We went there for breakfast, and despite it being half full, they never managed to bring us coffee. We ate breakfast without any drinks, and the staff just looked in general confused when we tried to remind them of our order. The manager apologised, blaming the printer at the bar.

This is a regular destination for me with various friends. The food is always great, although today it wasn’t as warm as usual. The menu is varied and the fixed price is a very reasonable. The staff are all very good.

Nice French Cafe just off the Strand. We came here based on reviews and it didn't disappoint. Staff was very friendly and the right level of attentive. Food was delicious. MOULES MARINTERES mussels cooked in white wine, garlic came out steaming with lots of flavor. Everything we ordered was good. Excellent choice for a pre-theater dinner.

We were celebrating joint 59th birthday. We had a great service and a free glass of fizz. Food came in good time and was very nice. A lovely evening.

My mother and sister and myself went to a pre christmas celebration. My sister and myself have been there on several occasions and have never been disappointed with both the food or service. We enjoyed it very much and will be back again

We had the set price menu which had plenty of choice. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and efficient. The venue is clean and has a nice atmosphere. Highly recommended and good value if you want a decent meal a cut above fast food.
