We booked a table the night before for a 60th Birthday suprise after which we were heading to the Theatre Royal for 'Much Ado About Nothing' .... and oh my word, what a find this wonderful restaurant is! The restaurant is beautiful, we were greeted by a wonderful welcome and we were sat downstairs at a lovely table, the smell of the food was so enticing... We started off with cocktails, all of which were amazing, we ordered from the Pre-Theatre menu and it all tasted magnificent and was a great price too. Our server, called Ines.B was fabulous, she had a great way about her and made us all feel comfortable, we didn't have to wait for anything, honestly I had the grilled seabass fillet and it was the best I have ever tasted, cooked to perfection. The Margarita was amazing as was all of the cocktails ..... Honestly, this restaurant was the best and made our friend's 60th Birthday meal a joy. Thank you to all at Boulevard Brasserie, and especially Ines, it was a wonderful dining experience xx

Loved how french this place is! Even the waiters seem to be all french! The menu has some great options! We ordered the chateaubriand to share - it was super tender and tasty but it also tasted a bit old and not very fresh! The dauphinoise potatoes were epic and a must have!

We made a booking for a pre-theatre dinner and when we placed our order the place was only half-full, not particularly busy. Waited more than an hour... In the meantime, people who arrived after us were served their meals. We were reassured by the waiter that our food was on the way but nothing eventuated. We also had to ask multiple times just to be brought some water. We ended up leaving without eating as the wait became frankly ridiculous and we needed to get to the theatre! Can't even review the food as it never arrived... Hugely disappointing. We won't be coming here again when there are so many other better options in this area of London.

Had an outstanding experience at Boulevard Brasserie. My partner and I had lunch together. We booked for around 12 and arrived at first at a very quiet restaurant which got very lively as lunchtime hit. The atmosphere was great. Our server (Tzouliano listed on Receipt) was great. Very quick and polite - thank you for your service. The food was fantastic. We opted for the lunch set menu. Having the Baked Brie Filo starter and Butternut risotto for main. My partner had the Sea bass for main, with a side of Fries. We shared a Creme Brulé for dessert. Would highly recommend all of them. Will be visiting again soon and recommending to all, thank you for a great experience.

Where do I start, salty food, fish dishes weren't fresh...very fishy. Ambience was horrible, was seated under the stairs, only had candles to light up our table. Order was incorrect twice, waiters seem like they were disinterested in serving us. Stepped on my wife's beautiful foot and didn't even apologise...horrible. Would not go back, plenty better fresh restaurants around.

Came here for Afternoon Tea. It did not disappoint. The tea was nice and hot. The sandwiches were very tasty. A nice selection of sweets with a wide range of tastes. The scones were brought out when you preferred so they were warm to eat. Great French atmosphere even though you were in the middle of London. Nice soft French music in the background and the walls were decorated with great French poster scenes. I would definitely recommend it.

I recently took a group from Japan to Boulevard Brasserie in London for afternoon tea before our backstage tour at the Royal Opera House. The location was excellent, and the atmosphere was perfect—exactly what you’d hope for in a traditional British setting. For my clients from Japan, it was their first time in the UK, and their expectations for a classic afternoon tea experience were naturally very high. From the very first bite, I knew we had made the right choice. The presentation and flavours were absolutely outstanding, and the scones—without a doubt—were the best I’ve ever had. Light, fluffy, and melt-in-the-mouth perfection! The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making our visit even more special. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we nearly lost track of time and almost missed our backstage tour! We will definitely be returning—thank you for such a wonderful experience!

My set menu was reasonable, although my partner's fish and chips was poor. Poor quality fish. The problem was service. I ordered a dessert, and asked the waiter for two coffees to follow. The coffees arrived promptly before the dessert, brought by a different waiter. Not really a major problem, although I did point out that we wanted the coffees after my dessert. Then the first waiter appeared asking what the problem was. I said there was no problem. I pointed out that I had asked for coffees after my dessert. His reply was " well the dessert comes from upstairs!" So what? His attitude was extremely aggressive and confrontational. The management of this restaurant needs to teach it's staff the meaning of customer service. Obviously, no apology offered. We will not be returning.

A lovely restaurant with a great menu and charming service. The quality of the food was wonderful. We had the Prix fixed menu - I had truffle soup and sea bass which were decently portioned and well presented and filling. My only criticism is that the tables for two are extremely small. There is virtually no space for sides or drinks and it can be very hot inside. Probably due to having candles in the tables and lots of interior lighting.

Unfortunately we left having a sour taste in our mouths (not from the food). Booked using the tastecard. Food was good although main course size is a little on the small side. It's advisable to order side vegetables as depending on what you choose, it may come with none. Not a big problem. However, when it came to settling the bill a 12.5% service charge was placed on the total at the value that does not take into account any discounts meaning the service charge value neared 20% of what the final bill was. I asked to decline paying the fee and instead leave a cash tip. I was immediately sent to the manager and asked what was wrong with the service in a derogatory tone. I explained I just wanted to leave a cash tip. I deeply disagree with this approach and the pressure to pay more.

Horrible experience. The host ignored us the moment we entered in, and we were shoved into the smallest table despite plenty of open spots. Our waitor who was pretending to be French was blatantly racist—ignoring us, serving others first, and bringing our food cold after a long wait. Even getting the bill took forever. To top it off, when I paid, he loudly acted shocked that a woman was paying instead of my boyfriend. The sexism and racism were unreal. If you're a person of color, avoid this place. They don’t even try to hide their bias.

This is a classy venue with really good food. I have been before and was hoping for the delicious rack of lamb but unfortunately it was not on the menu - disappointed but understandable. We had 50% off all food and order steaks instead only to be informed that the deal applies to everything on the menu… except steaks… We stayed with the steak orders and we both ordered side dishes. We both also had dessert. Regardless of the quibble about the 50% deal on steaks it proved to be a really great deal as everything else - except drinks- was discounted. Good food, good service, good ambiance and a great deal! Thank you! Please put rack of lamb back on the menu lol

After some five weeks' closure for kitchen reconstruction, they've finally reopened. The menu hasn't so much changed as been pruned: old, seemingly permanent favourites like Coq au vin and Steak tartare have vanished - some eight dishes in total - but with no new replacements that I could detect. I think this is a great shame; and in a restaurant as venerable as this that emphasises its reputation as an above all FRENCH brasserie, the deleted dishes strikes me as very ill-judged. They should really reconsider this. Other than that, the non-food essentials remain in the shape of exceptionally agreeable staff; and such of the menu as survived the cull is still produced to an excellent standard, well worth your visit.

We spent New Year's Eve in this establishment with friends, but we were disappointed by the meal offered. For a price of €81.61, we expected superior quality, but unfortunately few dishes were actually good. Additionally, the air conditioning in the room was quite unpleasant, which made the ambiance less comfortable. That said, we would like to highlight the sympathy and professionalism of the waiters and waitresses, who were very pleasant throughout the evening. We hope that improvements will be made in the future to bring the experience more in line with the asking price.

Will start by saying the food is ok for the price for the location. Had to squeeze 5 people onto a table suited for 4, a chair on the end made for uncomfortable seating and space all evening. We were given water for the table to start and waited nearly 20 minutes before we received our first and only drinks if the evening. Starters arrived 55 minutes after we were seated and ordered. 1 hour and 55 minutes after being seated, we asked how long our mains would be, while numerous tables around us were all waiting and one group left after waiting 30 minutes not to receive a drink. 2 hours and 10 mins and our mains had arrived, beef mains really lacking in beef. One of us ordered a side of potatoes to go with a sea bass, the potatoes arrives 15 minutes after the mains and after asking twice for them. At 8.40 some of us left to go catch a train home, leaving 2 others there to pay the bill, consistent with the rest of the meal, the bill was requested twice and finally paid. I have never known a basic menu take so long to serve and front of houses not speak while leaving a restaurant. Overall, nice food for price, just don't make any other plans for the evening as you make it.

Just off the Strand up Wellington amongst several bars and eateries is a French restaurant that gives you a warm welcome vibe when you walk through the door. The place is busy but small so when the friendly host takes you down the stairs you think “we’ve been to the basement, nooo”. It’s just downstairs to a bigger, livelier and bustling dining area with another bar. Despite the crowd the noise level was fine. The waiter was friendly and capable. High up on the wall of this restaurant, is a plaque dedicated to the Unity of the Brethren or the Moravians. They established their chapel on this spot back in 1750's and worshiped there until it was destroyed by a bomb in World War II. The church then relocated to their "God's Acre" or graveyard off the King's Road in Chelsea. Perhaps part the Moravian legacy of this place is that it remains the seat of justice for the UK with many legal chambers and offices nearby.

This place is not what Google says it is. We approached after searching for a decent pub in the area and as we got to the door - we noticed the Fox door knocker and saw it said members only. As we accepted defeat and tried for a little picture of the door, two dudes came out of a car and told us that not only were we not welcome there but that we couldn’t even take a picture with the .. door? Very odd and suspicious. However, I feel a little relieved since we probably just avoided a London stabbing. It’s one star only because 0 isn’t an option.
