Amazing food and excellent service

Perfect place for birthday celebrations. Booked it for 7pm on a Saturday for 14 people and there was everything we needed! Great food, wonderful environment (there were almost no other people on the dining floor so felt quite private), and very helpful staff. Would highly recommend!

I bought chicken salad, they brought it on a plain plate with very little greens. They cut 2-3 chickens in half and put them on top. For £19 it's not worth it, don't go you'll go hungry.

The value was good for the food. Unfortunately the restaurant area was closed and we were served in the bar, so I will need to return when the restaurant is opened! I had the lamb shank - the meat fell right off the bone.

Worse Turkish food I have ever tried. Half cooked food. Awful atmosphere and dirty toilets without any toilet rolls. Avoid at all cost

In what world do you serve a chicken shish or similar with no bread, no salad, no rice or no potatoes. The service was incredibly slow. Asked multiple times for water. My chicken was OK but other guests said theirs was overcooked and not hot. You need to take a leaf out of all the other Turkish restaurants out there in the way you serve your food. If it ain't broke don't fix it.

A Turkish restaurant in the heart of the city serving mixed grill kebabs, with the usual flat bread and hummus etc. There's an extensive wine list.

Food and ambiance were pretty good but the service was not- not much care and attention, unfriendly staff. Would come back but not too soon.

Location and atmosphere is also wonderful

Service was abysmal. Seemed there was 1 person handling the entire floor plus 1 or 2 bar staff doing a good job of looking busy. There appeared to be more staff there sat at the bar drinking coffee occasionally helping out. For a very simple lunch on a quiet Thursday we were in there for 2.5 hours purely down to slow service. 5 of us seated, handed 2 food menus between us, no attention from staff to take orders. Our drinks were sat on the bar having been made for a good 10 minutes, we collected them ourselves eventually. Food was average at best, some dishes overcooked, a lot of the dishes were small for the price. Not my experience of going to other Haz restaurants.

Nice meze, but pita was not fresh, which spoiled the impression a bit. The rest was good.

First Turkish restaurant that I have ever been to where rice and salad weren't part of the main course. It's counted as an Extra. Expensive for what it was.

Came here on a Friday evening after work. There was a group of 7 of us. One is gluten intolerant and they were helpful to point out suitable dishes. Despite some of the reviews on here we found the service to be prompt, efficient and friendly. We had a range of meze starters which were all very nice and everyone enjoyed their mains. We were well looked after and had no issues.

worst place i’ve been to in a while. waitress looks exhausted looks like she’s being abused by management and i wouldn’t be surprised as the asian man in black suit (assuming manager) seemed very rude and dismissive upon arrival. He also claimed some seats were reserved as he was not bothered to seat us there and the entire resturant was empty. We requested different seats due to disability. just rude and pathetic. food isn’t nice either selection is poor

Had the pleasure of trying the grilled sword fish. A little to the dry side, bit great taste! The restaurant is a bit to the tight side without much room.

Some of the food was great. The ingredients on the menu was not delivered when ordered. One of the waiters was to eager to clear the table.

Terrible service again at Haz. Rude staff, bad food. 55 minutes waiting for a starter, we ordered from the lunch menu. Eventually had to walk out. The waiter serving me kept asking for "another 1 minute" at 15 minute intervals. It's humus and pitta bread, why does it take an hour? No apologies or surprise when we walked out. Clearly they don't care about their customers because they will be more mug punters for them to rip off. Epic fail. Haz has become greedy. Overpriced and poor service, so many better places in the Square Mile.

Fabulous food and service although a bit pricey!

The food was amazing - so full of flavour. We are definitely making this restaurant our go to restaurant when me and my two friends meet up occasionally. We want to try more selection as it all looked so good. Service was friendly and helpful!.

ZERO STARS IF POSSIBLE. They ignored my email I sent to them. You can see how they ignore the bad reviews too and only are attentive to the good ones. Reporting this to FSA for poor hand hygiene. Summary: DISGUSTING. My partner caught the waiter leaving the toilet without washing his hands. UNHYGIENIC - we threw the food away. They were rude and slow and we were the ONLY two people on the entire restaurant floor. Multiple workers ignoring us, on their phones, waiting for the bill for 15 mins. I came to your restaurant at Bishopsgate today at around 7:30pm and left just before 9pm. My partner and I were walk ins and were greeted by a wonderful host who instructed us to go upstairs to the restaurant. We were seated and ordered the food. We were shocked at the level of service received for an a place that we had heard good things about. The food was extremely below average, I ordered the lamb shank and a few sides for the table. When served the water before the food had come, the waiter (asian man) was very abrupt with us to move our hands on the table. There was plenty of space for him to put the glasses down but he specifically interrupted our conversation (it is our 5 year anniversary so we were having a discussion). We ignored that but it made us both feel awkward. When the food was served, I could see that the lamb was very dry, I asked the waiter if there is any kind of gravy or sauce for it. He turned and gave me a sharp look and did not answer my question and left the table. The food was terrible and I did not finish it, we waited for a while for someone’s attention to ask for takeaway boxes to give the food to anyone homeless we see as we didn’t want to waste it. It took a long time to get someone’s attention which is ridiculous as we were the ONLY two customers on the whole floor and there was 3/4 people working that we could see on our side. The female on the floor was on her phone sending voice notes and did not look up for some time. Having being the only two customers and with multiple people working there was no reason to be kept ignored and waiting for long. We finally put the food in the takeaway boxes, asked for the bill and asked to remove the service charge. The waiter (a different one to the one before) walked away without saying anything and came back with a new bill without the service charge. I paid and asked where the toilets were which I then went down the stairs to. My partner went in first as I waited outside with the takeaway bag (I didn’t want to take the food in the toilet). One of the waiters walked out and past me into the elevator then my partner followed outside and said that man did not wash his hands in the toilet. I was disgusted that this person handles our food and didn’t wash his hands. When we walked back up to leave we gave the food back to the bar as we didn’t want to even give the food away to anyone homeless as we were so disgusted with the lack of hygiene portrayed. All of the bad service aside we could look past it but with this on top, we are genuinely disgusted with our experience at your restaurant. Avoid at all costs. I have NEVER left a review in my life but this NEEDS to be heard.

Most of the items on the menu were unavailable. The food was tasteless and cold. Chicken kabab was chewy. Didn't make sense to spend so much on a dinner and leave dissatisfied and annoyed by their service and food quality.

Used to work opposite for several years and was a regular visitor however will NOT be visiting again. Went today for a meal and was disappointed by the welcome and lack of attention when we sat down (had to call a waiter over). When we ordered and asked for one meal to have chips rather than rice (which is due to an allergy), they point blank refused and said they would only serve us chips if they charged on top. I asked to speak to the manager and she was absolutely not interested in helping us and completely not bothered when we decided to leave as they would not help us with a simple, common request in restaurants. The manager was smug and patronising advising me that I had obviously not visited since she had worked there as this has been their rule not to swop sides which is incorrect as I was there recently and our request was granted. Incredibly disappointing and won't be returning for their expensive, pretty sub-standard food.

Very pleasant visit to Haz. The food was good. I had the Vegetable Moussaka and the Shepherds Salad. Salad could have had a little more seasoning and no salt or pepper on the table. The service was excellent. Very attentive and polite.

They could have add some salad with the mixed grill rather than offering it on its own. But the food is delicious.

Food is nice, I'm just upset that when I ordered the Chicken Shish for £20 it just came as 5 cubes of chicken, and that doesn't even fill you up! So I got a side order of chips and I still wasn't full.. that chicken shish should be at least £12-£16

My wife and I went to Haz - Bishopgate recently for dinner. Restaurant cuisine is Turkish. We sat upstairs above the bar. The server was green and new to his role. He was nice. Menu is typical Turkish. Prices are high for what you get and quality of food. Nothing bad but nothing special. Better Turkish places in London.

I think it is a little bit dark in the restaurant.

Beautiful food, well priced, great service

Unfortunately it just wasn't very good considering the brand and the price. Took 40 minutes to get a couple of beers; starter meze was average at best; main courses came WHILE we still eating the meze and when we di have the mains, again all pretty average really. Staff were friendly and tried hard, but they need more training especially in a busy City Restaurant

No issues with the service or atmosphere. The food, however, was disappointing. The mixed grill was £23 - the portion was modest, and incredibly it didn't come with any rice. Just a side salad. I cannot understand why a small portion of rice would not be included. It didn't feel a complete meal. The tomato sauce accompaniment was also far too sweet. Why use so much sugar? For this price one would hope for better.

I’ve wanted to try this restaurant for ages but was both disappointed and underwhelmed. Lamb was tough, service was non existent, and overall experience was awful.

I asked for well done steak but i got half cooked. I didnt have time to get the order corrected as it already took almost an hour to get the order ready.

I really like this place. They have great quality of food and good wine selection at reasonable prices. But they do need to improve on the service. The waiters were nice but quite chaotic and couldnt grasp group of 8. Also they took our menus before we ordered and some menus had coctails and some didn't. The menu looked quite tired too...

Have enjoyed a business lunch at Haz for many years but this was a sub-par effort from this branch of the Haz chain, which seems to be losing its way with every new restaurant they open. The only real enjoyable part of the meal was the Diet Coke which, coming from a glass bottle, was pretty hard to get wrong. Starters/Meze dishes were average to good. Main dishes were substantial in portion but poor cuts of meat - the Lamb shish being 80% fat and inedible, let alone being able to cut it up. Rice was ordered but never delivered and we ended up cancelling this item from our order. With a total bill of £246 for 5 with soft drinks only all round - its not an economical restaurant to visit and will sadly not be returning to this branch of the chain.

I have been to HAZ before, but this was my first time in the Bishopsgate restaurant. The service was attentive and the food was great. Highly recommended.

Ribeye steak was amazing. Didn’t rely on the thick peppercorn sauce. Even the veg was full of flavour

This is a great find not far from Liverpool Street station. Unfortunately out waiter was either new or unfamiliar with the menu. He ordered the wrong starter for us and misinformed us about the main courses. The result was that the manager had to correct the order for us and serve the correct food. She was very pleasant and professional and only charged is for the items we ordered. Apart from that the food was delicious

I've been to Haz Bishopsgate in the past and the quality of service has certainly gone down. The waitress had little interest in offering guidance and we seemed an inconvenience. She has no love for the restaurant at all. Fortunately we ordered based on previous experience but I wouldn't recommend Haz again. There are better places to visit with more friendly service!

We came across this place by accident. Fabulous Turkish food. Serendipity is a wonderful thing, and so are the pomegranate margaritas.

Absolutely shocked with the level of service, staff attitude appalling not attentive or customer friendly. My Food order was wrong and drinks order also wrong!!!!! When addressed with the manager no apology or understanding for how I was made to feel. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Modern spacious restaurant but food and service are terrible. Worst turkish I've had.... meat was OK but bread wasn't fresh, no complementary sides, chilli sauce was a salsa without any chilli, basic starters like humous etc. lacked any flavour. Expensive. Service was non-existent, the waiters act like robots without emotion or care, mostly just standing around waiting for the customer to call them over.

No welcome, let alone a friendly one. Waiter pointed at our table across the room, couldn't be bothered to even take us to it. Chucked festive menus at us, so we asked for the a la carte menu. He gave us one menu between three of us. Never came back to take our drinks order. Waitress came to take our food order, so had to order our drinks then. Food expensive and does not even come with rice! Disappointed with the lamb tagine. Was two big pieces of bone with hardly any meat on it. Friends chicken shish kebab was tiny. All portions were small. Not impressed with the food at all. Never asked if we wanted anymore drinks. Absolutely dreadful place. Wont be going back. They STILL expected a 13.5% tip! what for??

Use to come here all the time for team dinners pre covid, never remembered the service being so terrible, not a single smile from greeter by the top of the stairs, then just pointed us to the table (restaurant wasn’t even half full with team of 7-8 wait staff), not once came over to check if all was good, could hardly get someone’s attention for the bill. I’ve never opted out for paying service fee, but considering the price and small portions, I was far from willing to pay the service fee. Disappointed.

4 of us walked into this place for lunch on friday 15th december at appx 2pm, bar was empty should of spotted this and walked out, but we carried on there was a girl sitting down on a table with a laptop, we asked table for 4 and there was no problem, after walking up 3 flights of stairs we all needed a defib to recover (joke) we entered the restarant there was a large table of people in the middle prob 20 people what looked like there xmas party, and no one else in the restaurant, sat down, wasnt met by any staff, we sat there for 10 min until i got up and went to the kitchen bar area and asked can we have some service please, some one followed me and i sat down and the waiter said yes can i help you, i said some menus would be good ! and can we have a drink, we ordered a drink and waited for a while and got drinks, about 30 minutes have passed now and still havent ordered, we shouted over and said can we order please, they gave us a christmas menu which we all chose 3 courses for £45 each, meanwhile the big table of people left which left us entirely on our own which was a bit odd seeing every where else was rocking ? anyway food was average very small portions and we had to order side dishes to fill the plate up on top of set price, we eventually finished our meal and the bill come to £250.00 for four of us, we called the manager over and expressed our displeasure but she was very arrogant and had no remorse, we didnt pay service charge which was £32 on top of the £250.00 and got out of there, summary is dont bother rubbish food rubbish service, we are kicking ourselves because the signs were there in the beginning. one word CRAP

Starters are a bit blend. Mains are overlu salty. Generous portions. Had a bottlebof the Argentinean Malbec for 40pounds, and kid you not one of the worst malbecs I had.

Great spot where you want to find a relaxing place for food in the middle of office buildings. Food is not very impressive but the portions are generous for the main dishes.

Honestly this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had in a long time. I completely appreciate that this is a restaurant in the heart of London but they are taking the p*ss charging £20 for chicken sheesh that doesn’t come accompanied with anything. Especially when it was dry and tasteless. I’ll attach a photo for comedic value. The sides came cold and the pint my colleague had was flatter than a pancake. I genuinely wouldn’t mind if the food was good but the accompanied salad that consisted of cold broccoli and peppers was laughable. One of the worst Turkish meals I’ve ever had. Including a dirty kebab at 4am. Edit: I also forgot to add the server seemed alarmed when we sent our fries (cold and stale) back and asked for them to be removed also no member of staff checked on us during.

Dissapointed & not worth it, especially for the price. It was £53pp for starters, main and dessert (no alcoholic beverage). They serve all the starters cold and gave a s small bowls of bread that was cut into 1inch cubes to share for three and it wasn't topped up when empty (usual for a Turkish restaurant) My main of Lamb Shish was nice, but my friends had the Mousakka and rated it 3 stars. I wan unable to finish my dessert (poached pear &vanilla ice cream) the pear had no taste and the ice cream had a weird after tatse. When we asked one waitress for a bit of time to look at the dessert menu, she rolled her eyes in front of us. I can only imagine this restaurant is popular due to its location. If you head to Tottenham Hale/ Manor Park Station you'll find so many amazing Turkish restaurants with good food and kind staff that will be worth the money.

Haz Bishopsgate. The decor looked amazing. The service was not there at all. We got our table and then waited 10mins for someone to come and take our order when they didnt even give us the menus. Food arrived, which was super overpriced and the main meals did not come at all with sides, which you have to pay for separately. I got Adanna by itself for £20! Our drinks did not arrive till we was half way through the meal. The waiters/waitresses were not attentive or come and see if we needed anything. The atmosphere was so loud we had to shout loud to hear each other. Not worth at all.

Visited Haz with friends, was not impressed. I had a collection of mezze starters which were a mixture of cold, burnt or small potions. The dining area is small and it got really loud with large parties to the point where the waiter couldn't hear the orders. The service was slow too and the bill shocking for the food received. I definitely will not be going back.

First and last time. The waiting staff were friendly but had no idea about service. Took our starters away before we had finished because the mains were ready! Didn't once come over to check if all ok. Had to be reminded about missing food. Food wasn't great, will not be back.

Food is excellent. We shared mixed grill, prawns, and tomato salad, and they were all delicious. Service was as if the chap had never worked in the industry before, but it was quite funny, so it didn't ruin the evening. I'm not sure if I'd go again as it is in a part of town with equally wonderful food but in a better package.

The table we sat at was very wobbly and had to ask to have it stabilised which a napkin was placed under one side. Not ideal but it made it less rocky. The food was nice but a total rip-off paying £20 for 5 cubes of chicken and a few vegetables. If you wanted rice or chips they were an extra £4 and £4.50 respectively. Dishes used to include rice but now it is extra. The staff were ok but I will not be going back or recommend them. For 2 people with just a main and soft drink the bill was just under £65.

Lovely food but I felt they could have done with more vegetarian main dishes (vegetarian moussaka was delicious, roasted cauliflower tasted more like it'd been boiled and had way too much sauce, tho that was tasty). Nice and quiet Friday lunch, I would go again but feel they could do with reducing the prices and would get more customers.

The moussaka and lamb tagine were alright..to top it off you have to buy sides. No Turkish have we ever been to where you have to buy rice separately. Definitely the worst Turkish we have been to and the most expensive. We were never asked re a dessert. So we asked for the bill. 13.5% discretionary service charge. Discretion used we didn't pay it. That's a first for us as well.. they asked why . We explained. DO NOT GO.

0 stars, the young black male waiter has huge hate issues. he threw menus on the table in our faces and then slammed the drinks down so hard we jumped. he has very angry , hateful face and he doesnt want to be there or work. He should not be hired as has no skills, but scaring away your customers. Im never coming back there even if i work just across the road.

Food was tasty, but should be for the toppy price they charge. Service was really lacking. They forgot one starter, so had to ask after no sign of it arriving. Staff walking around looking at the floor instead of keeping an eye on customers. Given the low volume of people, the lack of care and attention was palpable.

Worst food I have had in london for such extortionate price. Was so hungry after spending nearly £100 for 3 people. We went to get some takeaway. First time a kebab is served with no rice or bread. We had to pay nearly £20 for that basic item.

Have been to a few Haz restaurants before (St Pauls especially is good!) And food/service consistently good. However tonight's experience was really sub par Service rude from entrance. Trouble ordering, trying to remove items or get vegetarian. Short and sharp responses from waitress. Food really rubbish, flavourless and unremarkable. Falafel must have been cooked multiple times as were hard and dry as anything! Babaganoush flavourless. Real shame as Haz was one of our go tos. Won't be returning!

I visited Haz on a recent trip back to the UK as it was a place I used to eat at 15 years ago. The food was excellent. I had a lamb shish that was tender and succulent. A highly recommended restaurant.

Haz Bishopsgate is close to our office and we are frequent visitors. The staff are friendly and efficient, the food always of a consistently high standard, and the atmosphere vibrant.

Upon arriving, they didn't have our reservation despite me showing the confirmation on my phone. We were eventually seated by the entrance to the stairs, rather gruffly by the restaurant receptionist. Having waited 20 minutes for menus, we placed our orders and the food arrived in less than 2 minutes. It was mildly re-heated and not fresh and in fact, rather tough. Once our plates were removed we waited another 45 minutes with no waiter offering a menu for the next course, so we paid and left. Awful service and mediocre food. I did email them, however they did not tale the opportunity to reply.

Went for a mid-week dinner. The place was loud. Ordered starters and main. Drinks came quickly enough. Generally the staff were less than attentive. I had to send back my starters which were cold. We waited for the main course. After 40 mins I asked where it was and it was clear we weee forgotten. But the mere fact my waitress didn’t even notice. Dinner finally came. My food was over salty and microwaved rice. Less than average. It took ages for the plates to be removed. Then we waited. And waited. And waited. After a further 45 mins I asked for the bill. No offer of dessert menus. I have never been ignored at a restaurant. The staff were inexperienced and didn’t care. I would never go back. Awful
