Not a very nice curry tbh, asked for keema pilau but "chef" said no, just don't think he could be bothered, anyway it was slack the lamb must have been days old it just dissolved into sand in my mouth not something I've experienced before, spices were slightly burned so the curry didn't taste good. just noticed it's got 1 the lowest above 0 hygiene rating, wouldn't have even chanced it if I'd seen that first. Went years ago and it was nice, don't know what happened.

Absolute perfect once again. Tonight I had the garlic tikka bhuna. Abdul and his team are the masters. The service is spot on. The food is amazing. I see Abdul out and about and always stop to shake his hand and thank him. Amazing team guys thanks again. 10 out of 10. The BEST!

Used to be my 5-star go to takeaway, but the consistency with quality has changed (gone from excellent to okay). I've more or less tried every meal on the menu here and have been revisiting for the last 4 years. Truly can't fault the service, every staff member here is lovely, but I can't deny that the standard has changed recently. Vegetarian options used to be much more authentic and interesting, but have since consisted of potatoes (that absorb all of the flavour in the sauce), wedges of tomatoes (just why?) and quite obvious off-cuts. It may be worth revising your veg selection- okra, onions, beans,mangetout, lentils. They work well in adding texture without taking away the flavour. Naans- drier than Gandhi's flip-flop. Wouldn't hurt to brush the garlic naan with garlic butter before serving. Keema naan has also changed. Used to essentially be meat mince strips inside, and now it's a red sauce smeared on it? While it could just be an off night, it's been the last few times that the naans have been crispy (like a bag of walkers crisps) and the standard has dipped. -I've heard that there's been a rotation in staff, so there'll be an adjustment period, but please don't skimp on your quality ingredients. There's a reason that you get orders from all over Southport and surrounding areas and we take pride in our local businesses.

Abdul and his team run the finest Indian takeaway on the planet. Thanks Abdul. The best as always. The garlc tikka bhuna was perection. The rice was beautiful. The samosas were perfect. The whole meal was perfect.

Had chicken Ceylon. The chicken was dry and under seasoned and the sauce was hot but flavourless. Asked for Pillau rice but they gave me simple Basmati rice. Rubbish.

It's Tarleton Tandoori, the best Tandoori in Tarleton, in Lancashire, arguably in the world. Superb! Love the food, love the set up (open kitchen so cooked in front of you). Excellent standard of food and great variety of dishes. Honestly, this place is superb!!

We drive from Euxton for a takeaway from here ...As normally excellent food .. tonight we decided to try the special menu for two.. wow fellas it was terrible.. very disappointing.. Will ring ya n the week as it to far to bring it back ...

These guys are the best! I had the ceylon on saturday night and the boss gave me a free poppadom and dips. Superb food. See you soon guys. 10/10

Visited tonight had tandoori mixed grill. Meat very dry and inedible. Pity as I have visited here many times and enjoyed the food. Won’t be going back.

Usually a great place with great service but not today friends! Phoned up and placed an order which was repeated back to me. They said 25 minutes which was fine. I then went to collect the order and waited another 15 minutes there. Once I collected my order and got home I discovered that two items were missing. So I returned to the Tandori only to be greeted with ignorance and a man holding up fingers and saying two minutes two minutes. So I waited and waited for another 15 minutes! They clearly couldn’t deal with the orders tonight. Another guy there once he collected his order had a go at them saying “ he was told 20 minutes and it’s been an hour, it’s not on”. After waiting a further 15 minutes and being totally ignored along with all the other customers I decided to leave as I could feel myself getting very angry. Severely angry we how I felt when I left.

Had a takeaway from here a few times and the meal itself is usually good. However, we ordered chapatis and we were given shop bought tortillas. The first time this happened they said they had run out of chapatis and were given tortillas as an alternative. This time, we were not informed they did not have chapatis and did not realise until we got home. Tortillas do not taste the same and were chewy. At over a £1 each, it was very disappointing.

Poor value for money , boring menu , just not worth it .

I am not one to badmouth a local business, but having give them the benefit of the doubt enough times, this is the 4 or 5th bad experience we have had, we ordered food for collection last night, firstly it was not ready on time, then after checking there was an item missing which had been left on the side, and was lukewarm when we challenged this we were told it was still hot apparently, the staff were all just stood around shrugging their shoulders at us so we left, this is the 4th time they have messed our order up that is why we checked before we left, we have also previously been served raw chicken from this takeaway and we feel we have given them enough chances so we will not be returning, a shame because the food is good when they get it right

Passing through was feeling hungry so stopped off here and glad I did food was excellent fresh and very tasty open kitchen is always good to see highly recommend.

Why this isn’t one of Britain’s top Indian takeaways is a mystery. The food here is superb, cooked right in front of you in a place so clean you could eat off the floor. The staff’s service, attitude and attention to detail is fabulous. This is a seven star recommendation.

Great food but now had three consecutive orders in a row with something paid for but not delivered. Not the end of the world but it is becoming a bit of pain.

Having heard mixed reviews we were keen to try it anyway, and we’re pleasantly delighted. Spicy, well cooked and good mix of ingredients all prepared in an open kitchen which is amazing for a takeaway. Good Balti range and both the wife needs I loved it.

Love the food from here, although its a tad expensive compared to other Indian takeaways, But its tasty and I suppose thats what counts

It’s very hard to find a great curry house. This is most definitely GREAT. The food here is always top quality and has a unique freshness to it. The chefs cook the food in a clean open kitchen for all to see. Nothing hidden here. Brilliant dishes replicated time and time again. The value for money is an obvious stand out. Great sized portions enable that little extra for the next day. By far the best curry house for miles and miles around. Better than any in Preston and definitely better than any in Ormskirk or Southport. Can’t recommend enough.

We've been customers of the Tarleton Tandoori for over 10 years and it saddens me to have to leave such a negative review. We ordered a take-a-way with a couple of dishes and sides we're long familiar with. They were of the worst quality and blandness of taste we have ever experienced from this Indian Take-a-way. Both the Lamb and Chicken were tough to cut with a knife and literally rubbery in the mouth. The rice was of a cheap variety and tasted of onions. There were hardly any spices in the dishes to give them flavour and taste. I know we're on a lock-down, but for the establishment to substantially increase its prices and then to cheapen the dishes as well is beyond excuse. This establishment will not survive for long if it continues down this path. Tarleton Tandoori is now well and truly off our list.

Decided to try this place as was recommended by others, asked for one dish as vegetarian when ordering but delivered as normal chicken, very good portion sizes but the taste was very bland and not great will stick to where we normally go. Food was ready on time and friendly staff but not much more to say than that!

Highly recommended for the most delicious Indian meals and watching them cook the meals in the open kitchen is a great experience

This Place is normally the best Indian takeaway around but this time we got food from here it wasn't the best meal we have had. I am definitely sure it is a one off and we will be returning soon.

Have eaten here for many years and thoroughly enjoyed all the dishes I’ve tried. The only problem has been the chapati’s going crispy on the odd occasion. It’s interesting to see the chefs at work and watch your meal being prepared.

Excellent food and service . Just people parking in the front of the shop when we are supposed to social distancing. They should have a sign up telling people of the car park right across the road.

We have moved into the area and have been trying out various takeaways . We enjoyed Naaz but their waiting time became a joke so tonight decided to try this little place. It was a gamble worth taking as the food was delicious! The guy even gave us free popadums when he heard it was our first visit. Even though it is cash only there is an ATM at Spar. Went for the first time last night, four different types of curry ordered rice, chips and sides. What we got was four curries that looked all the same, Tasteless gloopy slop!!!!! £40 paid in cash as they wouldn't accept my card payment ( wonder why ) Verdict... Cheap and not very appetising I have made better myself so will not even consider going back to pay good money for the mush they served, very much disappointed. All put in the bin!!!!

We have never had a poor meal from here. Good food, friendly staff, just one star deducted as they only take payment in cash.

This Indian takeaway is so good! One of my favourites is Chicken or lamb Saagwala, but if there is a poor dish in their menu, we haven't found it yet. Order with confidence!

Great food, good choice. Always tasty. I’m vegetarian, and there’s so much choice. My only grouch is that there is too much potato in the vege curry. I’m not a huge fan of potato in curry. That however is personal taste, and purely my opinion.

Great family meal, had the chef set meal for 2 with extra Peshawar nan, onion bahji, and a Tandoori chicken balti. All the food was great. Just a shame it’s cash only, hope this doesn’t lose them business

Ordered a large amount of dishes last night as had friends visiting us for the weekend. It was the first time we had ordered from here so I was hoping we had made a good choice as I’m fussy but my friends are super fussy and expect high standards. I needn’t have worried as the food was absolutely gorgeous and all of us loved what we had chosen. The meat and sauces were super fresh and cooked beautifully. The staff were fab and very helpful when we arrived to pick it up too. I would highly recommend Tarleton Tandoori to anyone. It’s a treat 😉

ordered with the ol' wife, shes very old like stop being so old. and i had my order taken by this lad named arroon. sounded like a proper weirdo, asked me what i was wearing. went very in depth with his ultimate fantasy, wanted to be covered in korma and slide across supermarket floors like a torpedo. will order again

Our visit was last night to the takeaway the curry was far to salty it was just full of chillies was not edible the Garlic nann no garlic. Wrong rice sent with order Will not visit again.😣awful. Went in the bin.

We moved to the area not to long ago and every time we walked past, it smelt amazing. We had my folks round for my birthday and we decided to order from Tarleton Tandoori. We weren’t disappointed! After ordering I was told it would be about 25 minutes. I did query the price when ordering as I was expecting it to be more expensive so wanted to check I hadn’t missed anything! I then returned 20 minutes later and the food was just being packed into the bags. A busy waiting area and other customers ordering was a good sign. The food was excellent, and the lamb tikka in the mixed grill was very tender. The complimentary Mumbai Aloo was a nice touch. We will definitely be ordering here again.

Fantastic, tasty and quality food every time. I will be travelling back here for the same great quality food for years to come, even when I move away from the area.

After walking past this place on the way for a quick pint, the smells were incredibly enticing .... hence my takeaway order. WOW .... what a disappointment!!!!!!!It was very expensive for a takeaway, ... sauces and rice had to be bought as extras. However, I was expecting something wonderful so gave them the benefit of the doubt.The chicken chat starter was basically just bland mush and very very watery.The lamb tikka tandoori meat was the toughest meat I think I have ever had. In fact, after attempting to chew a piece for approximately 4 minutes I gave up and pulled all the meat out, hoping at least to enjoy the bhuna sauce that I had to pay extra for.How WRONG could I be? It was dreadful. Very very bland, tasteless and lumpy (I really don't know what on earth could make it lumpy but I wasn't going to risk eating it).I don't think I would risk a return visit to this place. I am shocked at the good reviews. Surely I couldn't have just got unlucky with my entire choices of food???Maybe it's only successful because it's the only Indian takeaway for some considerable distance? Who knows?

The first time we bought a takeaway here, we thought the food looked good but was underspiced and a little bland. This time, we mentioned this to the restaurant when we ordered and what a difference it made, or we were just unlucky last time. We ordered the set meal for two, generous size portions and good value. The flavours were very good. We'll be back.

Never had a bad experience, or a bad meal here. Staff are always lovely, and the food is amazing. Meat is never 'rubbery' or 'cheap', deffo feels like you get a brilliant meal for a reasonable price.

We have been eating here since 2005, the staff are fantastic, food is consistent and authentic. I am a curry fan and they are very good, yet to be surpassed. Wish they had a restaurant.

Tarelton Tandoori is usually really amazing this occasion I ordered a chilli garlic bhuna , a chicken byriani and pilau rice the garlic chilli bhuna tasted amazing but unfortunately there was four tiny pieces of chicken and the same with the byriani it had four pieces this to me tasted great but I'm not a vegetarian I like a good curry with a good bit of meat involved this has spoilt my visits there now I feel a little reluctant to go again because I didn't ring up giving them an attitude complaining I just thought they have ruined it for me now going there invade they let me down again with the amount of business if the presentation they have where you can see the chefs cook in front of you the successful reputation should be always consistent and it's a shame I've had to do a review in this place because I felt really let down I only have one treat once a week due to training in the gym and this week build up was spoilt so I'm not sure if I want to go there again or should I phone them up but I'm sure then they wouldn't be bothered due to the busy nature of the place but in my eyes as a business everyone should be made to feel like there getting there money's worth do it was a thumbs down for me don't be put off though people I have usually had a decent amount of chicken in my dishes , although they seemed to rush to much and palmed me off with a popadom for extra which is probably around five to ten pence to make maybe less after I went in seeing they made me wait quite a considerable time outside in my car , the problem is that your just left feeling are they actually being serious with the amount of chicken in this dish I'm from Manchester I go to Rusholme my family is from south Manchester round the corner the curries even in the more lower class restaurants down there respect your order , your looked after more they need to re assess the amount of meat in the dishes part from this there brilliant unless I get some chicken pieces and put them in from Asda to add to it but that's ridiculous to do so but I wish I would of in Friday it's a nice place but time to sharpen up to keep their reputation in order or people like me will make them loose their top position in quality by telling the truth and they will take a knock on what was an amazing take away . I hope they can take this information and se it to there advantage .

Excellent cooking in an out of way location. I live in the middle of the curry capital of North West London and usually when people suggest a curry I am ready for a disappointment. Not this time, the food is cooked while wait, and watch. On Saturday night it was packed I can see why.

He visitado un gran número de siempre, y este tiene que ser el mejor dentro del área local. Somos de un Burscough así que es un pequeño paseo pero merece la pena para una comida más agradable. El pollo tikka Bhuna y biriyani es siempre un favorito y la frescura y calidad siempre es muy buena.

One of the best local takeaways, so much variety to choose from on the menu; good sized portions, which are very filling. Friendly staff and definitely worth the wait when it's busy on the weekends!

To get to Tarleton tandoori from my house you have to drive past 2 other Indian takeaways and 2 Indian restaurants and the journey takes 20mins each way. That's how good this place is. Even the mild curries are bursting with flavour. Absolutely delicious. Lots of chefs working hard so food is always ready for collection.

Good variety on the menu , cooked well , always prompt. Good that you can see the food preparation and cooking , all very clean and well organised. Good value and never disappoints.

Regulate takeaway since moving to the area , lovely fresh food , takes a bit longer than most takeaways at the weekend but worth the wait all food consistently the same so you can order knowing the standard. Worth a visit

Frist of all I don't get why this place is listed as a restaurant in Preston. It's around 12 miles outside Preston in Tarleton and is a takeaway.I've been maybe 5 times over the past couple of years and have yet to have a good meal so I've given up and go a little further for my regular Indian fix. The menu looks good and the place is well run but the food is bland and, in my experience based on cheap ingredients. I'm amazed that another reviewer can describe it as the "best curry ever".

I have been going to Tarleton Tandoori for some years and always enjoyed good quality, reasonably priced food. I went on saturday and ordered a meal for 2. We were really disappointed. The chicken was stringy and mushy, well overcooked, and the sauce a glutenous slop with no fresh ingredients. My wife said her lentil dish was a tasteless slop. The best part were the poppadoms, but the accompanying chutneys were small portions and not enough for 2. I would not have posted this review but the last time I used Tarleton Tandoori (about 2 months ago) I had a similar experience, but thought i would reserve judgement as they might have had a one-off problem that night. I will not be travelling from Croston again unless I hear they have dramatically improved on quality. Whilst we are a few miles away from Tarleton, the grape-vine is strong in these parts.

Gorgeous food and always willing to tailor dishes to requirements. They even make vegan versions of dishes for my daughter! Friendly and chatty too. Hope they never leave our village!

This is probably the best Indian take away I have ever had. When you first walk in you notice how clean the place is. You can see the food being prepared in front of you. It is amazing to watch especially on a weekend when they are very busy. They have like a conveyor belt of chiefs preparing the food. I have had a number of dishes over the years and I can honestly say I have not had a bad meal. The portions are good and the amount of meat you get is brilliant. I have recommended the take away to many of my family and friends and they all love it. Please try.
