Truly Disgusting Food swimming in grease truly inedible naan was like rubber I complained so he knocked off just £7 worst curry i have ever had the Jalfiezi was hotter then a vindaloo the Bhuna also swimming in grease all you could taste was grease no flavor at all even the onions were not cooked properly pilau had no taste whatsoever

Placed an order via Ormskirk Eats and waited until 15 mins after the estimated delivery time. Phoned the restaurant to be told that it was out for delivery, just then the status on the OE app was updated to 'out for delivery' (convenient!!). Waited another 25 mins, phoned back to be told they were waiting for a driver! Then I noticed on the app that the order status was now showing as 'complete'!! Phoned back again 20 minutes later to cancel the order, to be told that I'd have to contact OE to cancel and get a refund. Absolutely shocking customer service, no apology given....will certainly never even contemplate using them again....they simply don't care!!!

Starters were ok, onion bhajis were flat and burned, chutney tray was nice then the main meal was just about ok chicken tikka was watery and bland partners was ok bland but just ok then the bill arrived an i nearly fainted £7 for two cokes and theyd charged us for individual onion bhajis, tried once never again the prices are dearer than on the web so be careful

The service and delivery was great but the prawn pathia was absolutely shocking, extremely watery and no real taste, I've had lots of pathias but this didn't taste at all like a pathia more like a prawn soup but without the hot, spicy and sour taste. I threw most of the curry away and the garlic nan could have had some garlic on. Not good, won't be ordering again 😡

5* Best Indian in the area! Very consistent! Can't beat it!

Enjoyed the food, each of our party were happy with the flavours. Jalfrezi was nice and hot. Poppadoms weren't that great, but the chutney tray was excellent.

First time here, we initially wanted to go to the food market but it was very busy and loud. We opted for the passage to India, they don’t have great reviews and I don’t understand why food was great tasty the chicken tikka masala was so nice quick service I would recommend

Don't normally write reviews but felt after that I should , terrible service ,too busy they couldn't cope, table next too us walked out after waiting an eternity ,food average at best, we ordered too much as per usual and asked could we take away ,we were then given take away trays to do ourselves because they were too busy , don't like giving my hard earned money too people who obviously don’t care , won't ever go back even for a takeaway ,maybe it was an off night who knows but you at least apologise, and act professionally, waste of money

My wife and I had a lovely early bird meal (up to 7PM)  at Passage to India.  starters we had the chicken tikka & Lamb sheik kebab, for Mains we picked Chicken Jalfrezi and lamb Madras, all the food was smashing the lamb and chicken was lovely. Recommend eating here.

Given this place more chances than it is worth. Lamb is tough as old boots korma is like wall paper paste. I always said this place is hit and miss but it’s more moss than hit. Absolutely shocking delivery times. Waited over 2 hours this evening so eventually got a refund. Never again.

We love this place food is 10/10 evrytime we have been staff very friendly and it’s just so comfortable to have a meal your not rushed and the food is amazing highly recommend.

The smell should of put me off going in from the start but thought I'd give it a chance ordered the meat starter for 2 took over half hour to come out and the meat was that tough we couldn't eat it the mains were not much better everything tasted salty and I'm not not sure what animal I was eating but it definitely wasn't chicken told them it wasn't nice and he just said OK 🤔

This is the second time we have been and extra items have been added to the bill.Extra drinks we did not request but were added to the bill we will not be going back I wonder how many others take time to look at the bill we did warn the couple opposite to look at their bill and there was a large table of guests in there also no idea if it happened to them

Waited 2 hours for the dog food that they served us. Order was missing items and the items they managed to deliver was salty and tasteless. ..the Chicken Chat had hair in it. Absolute waste of money and when you contact to complain you are just met with horrible attitude. AVOID

Absolutely shocking. Waited 2 hours for the delivery and when it didn't show up we called and they said they didn't have a driver for them to deliver it and that we should go and collect it. They didn't even bother to ring us and tell us that. They said the food is waiting for us... God knows how long it's been sat there. Absolutely avoid avoid avoid disgusting service

I am not from the Ormskirk area, however one evening I was travelling from Southport to London and needed some much needed food. I really fancied a nice Indian and we came across Passage to India on trip advisor and Google and were not disappointed. This restaurant is a little gem right next to a fantastic hidden bar too definitely both worth a visit. Fantastic tasty food and friendly attentive staff.

Went to pick up takeaway, fella had a bad attitude. Got it home and they’ve missed the sauce from the tandori and it was stone cold.

Food is actually quite nice, there is better in the area though. We were mistakenly given a meal we did not order, then was treated poorly in response. We have not been back, we will not tolerate poor service.

Had an amazing takeaway from here on Friday evening even though they where really busy fantastic staff very polite and professional the food was to the highest quality I would really recommend them 5 🌟 🤩

Best Indian I've ever been to, and I've been to a lot. I now live abroad but every time I visit Liverpool I make time to come here. Superb.

My was order completely wrong. Two veggie meals ordered but they had chicken. Phoned to complain and the manager spoke so much he refused to allow me to talk. Finally he took a breath and i got a few words in and then he resorted to shouting aggressively. Its a pity as in the past never a problem but if that's they way they respond then i will be giving them a wide birth.

I have complained twice via email to this restaurant but they haven’t bothered to reply. My husband and I visited this restaurant and the food and service were great until the very end when another waiter came over to take our payment. He came over with the receipt and as I picked up to from the table to check before paying he snatched it out my hand and gave me a dirty look. I was shocked and proceeded to take the receipt back from him. This type of behaviour is unacceptable. I am the paying customer and I have the right to check my bill before paying. I found this waiter rude and intimidating . He ruined the night for us. We won’t be back or recommending your restaurant.

Food very good this time. Town centre location so need to find parking. Dropped 2 stars as when asked for a receipt was given transaction receipt. Had to ask again for a proper receipt and was given scrap paper with a scribble, not a proper receipt. Needed it for expense claim.

Wow been a few Indian restaurants round ormskirk and chanced this place on delivery absolutely amazing, recently moved here from liverpool. I got chicken chat to start with piri it was like a main meal!!!! Don’t get me wrong not quantity over quality the sauce was nice and thick, we got prawn balti etc and all was fantastic our new Indian thanks guys xxx

Me and the wife ordered here for the first time and we were really pleased. Very tasty! I wanted mine spicy and it was! Yum! It isn't super cheap (some probably would say the pricing is standard) but you get what you pay for in my opinion and this was well worth it. Anyone put off by price: don't be!!! Also, we ordered online for delivery and they were really quick - 30 minutes maybe(?). How often does it seem to take when ordering an Indian usually well over an hour?

We gave our son a choice of places to eat out as it was his birthday. He& our daughter-in-law had eaten here for their anniversary and really enjoyed it. So with them & our daughter (unfortunately our son-in-law was babysitting) we went. Throughly enjoyed our meal, starters were great and mail meals tasty and filling. Service was very good,slight misunderstanding on starter but rectified quickly and our son ordered a rum & coke but got two instead of a glass of water my daughter-in-law wanted .

Had the Tandoori Chicken, dry and salty, mixed meats for two was salty as well, rest of food was good.

Food is excellent here only downside is they don't deliver its pick up only but well worth the effort

As a big Curry eater the Passage is a decent place to have a curry. they will make you anything you ask for. only gripe is not enough choice for draft beer.

All way when there before covid-19 looked forward to going back, wife meal was great as was the starter mixed meats for two, but my Chicken Tandoori was dry and very salty. Not up too their pre covid-19 standards.

Great chef specials and the best bhajis known to man

Regular visitors, and as usual, food, service & staff all excellent. We are always greeted with warm & friendly smiles. Garlic naan & dips, followed by mixed starter for 2 from the new menu 😋 followed by chicken bhuna with egg rice & special fried rice. Excellent, tasty food, which we thoroughly enjoyed, as always. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Have been visiting A Passage to India for over twenty years and have always been happy with the food the service and the atmosphere. We were back again this weekend. Just the five of us for a little celebration meal and as is usual, could find no fault. One of our all time favourite restaurants. Highly recommended.

4 of us visited between Christmas and New Year...Plusses - food quality was good, very tasty and piping hot. You chap serving was relatively knowledgeable on 1 or 2 dishes we were unsure about. Prices were fair, definitely not overpriced.Negatives - got shown to table and waited ages for a drink despite being on approx 5/6 other people in at that time, we had to go and find someone to ask for them.Majority of waiters were quite frankly very miserable.My wife ordered king prawn starter for £7 and received 2 prawns (she pulled them up on it and they brought another 2)All in all would we go again if in the area? Think we may try somewhere different to be honest.

Booked a table for 3 at 7.30 pm for New Years Eve via website. Arrived at 7.20pm to what can only be described as pandemonium.About 20 people waiting for takeaways and half a dozen or so waiting for tables. We were asked to kindly wait.At 7.50 a couple arrived for their 8pm booking and were shown through to their table without delay.When I asked when our 7.30 table would be ready I was told "I dont know everyone seems to have booked for 7.30!"We were shown to a table at 7.50 pm once I pointed out our booking was before the others.8.20pm before out order was taken and 9pm before popodoms arrived.Staff were not serving restaurant customers they just seemed to be attending to takeaways.Staff were not asking restaurant customers do they want a drink, but when you asked them you were told "I have no clean glasses!"At 10pm after many times asking when will our food be ready and other customers leaving, we decided enough was enough and told them we were leaving.I was presented with a bill for food we had not yet recieved and explained I wasnt paying. We settled on what we had so far and left very disappointed. At that time of night no other places available so it was a takeaway( from another place) at home!Not an apology in sight from any of the staff. Customer service is shocking.I understand NYE is a busy night and times may be longer on orders but this was terrible. Dont book all your tables for same timecskit and either do restaurant or takeaway as you clearly cant do bothVery unhappy experience for us and I would say 95% of other customers that night

Booked this restaurant due to its good reviews. We had the Christmas set menu. Popadoms and dips were ok but the rest of the food lacked flavour. Everything seemed to taste the same and there was no variation in the dishes.

Booked a table for 6 for the New Yea\r's Eve menu, 8.00 pm. Two of the party received their starter at 9,00 pm, the remaining 4 receiving theirs at 9.30 pm. Finally, by 9.45pm we had still not received our food and decided to leave. Having already paid our deposit, we settled the bill and left. Take-away orders were doing a brisk trade to the detriment of restaurant diners. Staff were running around like headless chickens - heaven only knows what was going on in the kitchen. Passage to India you let us down big time. Learn from your mistakes and either do one or the other...serve your customers who had booked or just offer take-aways !!! Will not book again !

A group of us booked and paid a deposit to go here weeks before New Year's Eve. Unfortunately our decision to go to this restaurant spoilt our 2019 celebrations. On arrival at 7pm we were asked what we wanted to drink and then NO ONE came near our table again until prompted at 7.30. During our wait we wrote out our order but it still took until 8pm for our starters to arrive. The new year menu we chose from was already set so we didn't understand what the delay was. Our main courses then arrived 2 hours later at 10pm!! Seriously ridiculous and unacceptable. Other customers were leaving their tables unable to get served, pre booked parties were asked to return an hour after their agree time and even then they still had to leave as there was such a long wait for food. And why did this happen?? Because of takeaways.... Takeaway customers took priority over the restaurant customers and the queue for food pickups was massive. So, if you decided at 7pm on New Year's Eve to phone up and order food you would have been served quicker than groups like us who had pre booked weeks ago and paid a deposit. No apology or explanation was provided by the staff, nothing knocked off our bill, no complimentary drinks offered. It was awful. We left the restaurant at 11pm (4 hours after arriving) having missed the majority of New Year's Eve. I won't be returning to this place again.

I don't often leave reviews, but really felt I had to, just had a lovely take away tonight. I'm not the most confident with anything spicy but I'm getting there. So tonight was a chicken korma and a lamb korma. Naan bread and dips. And it was absolutely gorgeous, the lamb fell apart. I rang up and asked to speak to the manager, I just had to tell him how nice it was. Far too often people are quick to moan and complain. And rightly so when its warranted. But not tonight, I just think that when something is good, it also needs to be said. Hence the review. So next time I call back I'll be a little more confident in my spice journey. And I'll go for something a little more daring, a tikka ,knowing full well, that if it's anything like what I had tonight. It will be beautiful.

We booked a table in advance through an online system that works well. The staff were friendly and professional throughout the meal. Timing was great. Food was delicious! Fabulous!

Best Indian around for miles Staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Great range of food and all of the dishes taste different unlike some restaurants. Prices are very reasonable and offer great value Atmosphere is lively and can get noisy sometimes but can add to the fun. Waiters are attentive and amusing! If you haven't tried it yet, give it a go. You won't be disappointed

Went early evening as family of four.Goid quality meals for price . Had lamb shack chicken tikka masala chicken tikka and king prawns. Only downside was bill incorrect by £15 over but this was corrected quickly.

Used to visit here almost weekly for a meal or takeaway when I lived in Ormskirk. Visited for the first time in 17 years in December, loved it so much came back early January. Lovely food and plenty of it; really good value for money. Would highly recommend.

Christmas Day 2018, one sitting at 2pm. The place was packed. Service, staff and food was EXCELLENT. Hoping Christmas Day 2019 will have a later sitting, perhaps 2pm & 4 or 5pm. We think it's the best Indian around, and generally visit once a month. Definitely recommend.

Coca Cola !!! Flat and warm ... replaced with Coca Cola flat and warm .... onion bajis like rubber and burned ! Tuck tuck was dry chunks of chicken ... bland and dry !!!!

Went here with the family on a Tuesday night.

This is a hidden gem, tucked down the side of Bargain Booze facing the bus station. It is by far and above the best Indian restaurant in Ormskirk and surrounding areas and is a MUST! Trust me, I’ve tried them all. Takeaway orders have always been correct and are always piping hot, even by the time I drive home. The free poppodoms and beverage are a nice touch. Food is plentiful and flavoursome and the meat and seafood are of excellent quality. The staff are fantastic, very courteous and friendly. Its a pleasure to visit here and we have never been disappointed. I believe this is the oldest restaurant in Ormskirk so thank you Passage to India for serving your customers (old and new) so well for so long. Highly recommend!

Well where do I start with this little gem of ormskirk? Now firstly I need to point out I’m more of a korma kind of girl ... well when ever I have friends visit I always ALWAYS take them here this restaurant is sort of off the beaten track the is signs up... but if you wasn’t walking past it like you do with many other restaurants you’d never know it was there!! So firstly I’ll tell you how to go into this little gem :D it’s right at the side of bargain booze near the bus station / NatWest of ormskirk.

Very good, as usual. Just booked for Christmas Day, so looking forward to it.
