Top place to eat and staff were superb

Probably the best and most authentic Indian Restaurant that I have visited in a long while. The portion sizes are great the cost was reasonable, but the taste was outstanding. The service was exceptionally fast cosidering there were so many of us (15) and the atmoshere was still great even though we chose to have a function room istead of using the main reataurant. It was so good that 9 of us went there again over Christmas to the main restaurant. The service and quality was exemplary again. I can't rate the place high enough.

Dropped in with family for an impromptu Indian meal following recommendations from friends. Staff where really friendly and helped my kids pick their dishes, and helped us try different things based on our likes. The food was delicious and the portions where substantial. So nice we finished them all. Menu choices where extensive and prices very reasonable. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

First trip to Rivaj. We are local to the area but usually go to another. Fancied a change and won’t be back…. to our original! We were genuinely welcomed by both the manager and all the staff. All very quick, on the ball in attending to your needs, all food served promptly and was both delicious and good value. We WILL be back here! Excellent experience

I love Rivaj. We have been plenty of times over the years and I’ve always enjoyed the food and service. We went as a large group this evening and the staff were so accommodating and friendly. The number of choices on the menu is brilliant and the quality is great. I find their descriptions of spice levels to be accurate too, which is helpful.

excellent dishes, service was polite, friendly and efficient.. as is common these days, most sides were extra ..2 of us had a large cobra each with the meal, and parathas, rice, very good portions.. £52... would recommend no problem

Madras chicken chewy, not upto what used to be a good curry 😢

Food arrived and the delivery woman didn't have any change and it was supposed to be £25 (already VERY expensive), however i had no choice but to give £30 as she had no change. SO £30 for 1 curry, 1 rice, 1 naan and a chicken tikka starter. Value for money is virtually zero. Save yourself money and go to Ajmeer Manzil instead

Great food and service as always

Great place to eat the food is top notch and excellent value for money the portions are very generous me and my wife normally share a main course. Love it great staff very friendly and the service is very good

The place looks nice, the food was good but the service was not great. One of the waiters was quite rude, he brought us the wrong bill initially, he apologised in the end. If you don't book in advance you have to wait a little while in order to be seated, but the waiting lounge is nice.

Good food, prompt delivery. Lovely chips and tasty Samber, sauce perhaps a little bit thick in consistency, but a quality curry as always.

Portion size very generous. Ordered the mixed biriyani and enough for two. Good amount of chicken, prawns and lamb.

the food is listed as delivered despite not being delivered. I tried calling several times and had no response. the restaurant is now closed and I have had no food. happy to take payment though..

Food was good when it finally arrived. It was really late from the original time. I rang the restaurant several times to be told the driver is just at the top

Went for the first time today on recommendation. Was not disappointed. We had the 12 course Sunday special all of which was delicious. Great flavours and great value for money. Couldn't eat it all so the staff gave us containers to bring it home. The staff are lovely and really looked after us. Will return. Just a note if booking online at the moment the restaurant does not open till 4pm on a Sunday but earlier slots still showing up on the booking form.

Delicious fresh food. The 3 course early bird set menu is really varied and the portions are full sized . The waiters are very attentive. The owner/manager greets you and says goodbye when you leave. You feel valued as a customer. The food is just amazing

The rice and naan bread smelt and tasted musty. The chicken tikka masala was very thick dry and not anything like as tasty as your usual. I actually didn’t eat it after tasting it. Sorry to leave a negative review as your food is usually very good but I was very disappointed.

The food looked like it had been dropped - poppadoms completely smashed - multiple dishes leaking inside the bag - created a real mess - the delivery driver must of known as he literally threw the bag at me and ran off!

Won't be ordering here again £48 for literally hardly any food! We use this restaurant alot to dine in too. Ordered for my sons birthday tea an it's a joke! You get a free item with ordering so much right? Nothing sent. Shocking.

I've never seen a King prawn so weird looking it resembles a beef. It was dark and shreds like a beef. I don't eat beef and comes from a country rich in seafood where king prawn is a normal everyday food. However dish we cook them they don't turn really dark brown or black especially the unexposed part. I actually have king prawn in my fridge I bought in Costco. But I was told they were king prawn. Maybe a remanufactured one. Not good and dragons for someone who doesn't eat meat...like me.

Excellent restaurant & the staff can't do enough for you. The food was beautiful with a bottle of red wine to go with it, best Indian if not restaurant in general in the area. Not a lot of places I go for dinner and then stay in all night, but do here. The drinks are as amazing as the food,

Went yesterday, early evening, with family members (5) and we all agree that the meals were fantastic and competitively priced. Staff were exceptional, patient and courteous all in a very nice atmosphere. Highly recommend and will visit again. Thank you RIVAJ !

One of the best Restaurants in Wigan

Been again tonight and all I can say is wow!!! The food from starters to mains absolutely amazing. The lamb chops are devine. Never before have i had such tasty amazing lamb chops. The service was amazing and the staff couldn't do enough for you. Bonus that they offered 25% off monday to thursday so cost only £56 for a 3 course meal with drinks! Not worth cooking for that. Well done Rivaj. Will definitely be back ASAP

my first time ordering from here so I rang ahead to see if they would deliver straight to me on the ward as I'm stuck in bed,bedbound . this was not a problem so I sent order through. the good is just delicious 5* all round

Food was inedible 2 tikka masala both swimming in water no taste atall. Everything arrived cold the only thing that was ok was the naan bread even though that was cold. had to order elsewhere refund requested

Order placed for home delivery, it came to nearly £60 for three starters and mains. initially told it would be with us in approx 50-95 minutes. As it neared the delivery time, I then got a notification apologising about a delay and the time had been shifted by another 30 mins. Same thing happened again, making its arrival 1 hour after the initial expected delivery time. The food arrived, some was hot, some lukewarm, but all of the boxes covered in curry and grease from one of the mains leaking. Food was ok, all tasted as it should. Was not impressed to find bits of shell and black veins in the prawns of two of the starters, was also a little under seasoned. Have eaten in the restaurant and found the food better than the takeaway option.

Food was leaking with oil upon delivery and the quality of the lamb achari was disappointing. Please don’t make dishes inaccurately as there were a 1000 onions and the taste was NOT achari at all. It should have been a curry based dish and the few pieces of lamb there were included were incredibly hard and chewy. Just eat service was useless and did not give me a refund either. Will not be ordering from here again.

Booked at table for two for 7:45 and arrived at 7:30 and confirmed the time and booking with the staff. By 8:15 we still hadnt been seated despite everyone else who arrived after us being seated at a table. When i queried when we would be seated i was told they would get us a table as soon as one was free. So at 8:30 we still hadnt been seated, there was nobody else waiting and after asking again i was told they would get us in as soon as they could. At 8:45 i saw the manager and asked him why we hadnt been seated to which he appologised and asked his staff to seat us... which again didnt happen. We finally gave up at this point and left. An utter shambles of a place.. Very badly managed and an incredibly poor experience. We wont be returning.....

No chutneys with order, so unfortunately didn’t eat the popodoms either.

Went here for Mother’s Day, very busy and had to wait for food but tasted good when it arrived. A lovely touch when leaving for all mothers where handed a gift bag. Inside a rose, chocolate, card and voucher for 10% off next visit how thoughtful. Would definitely recommend eating here.

never disappointed, excellent as usual

Warm welcome. Friendly and helpful service - explained all the dishes and made recommendations. We had the mixed kebab sizzler and it was fantastic. Gave us a doggie bag to take the leftovers home. Kingfisher beer was perfect with my lamb curry 🥵

Very extensive menu. Staff very welcoming and friendly from arrival to departure with lots of smiles. The food was delicious and didn’t have to wait too long between courses.

Went here last night in a party of 19 for a 21st birthday. Some people ordered a banquet style other's ordered individually. I was really impressed with both the service and the food. It was confusing with the amount of people having banquet and others not and they really tried to service and accomadate all this. The food quality really was good and I was impressed with both food and service. Well done rivaj. Would definitely be going back

Ist time at the rivaj for me family have been hear before and we were treated very well excellent service friendly staff. Food was excellent there was 15 family members who all had different meals and enjoyed them all. The staff were also kind enough to ring me back to see if we had found our lost keys, genuine careing business owners would highly recommend

Have to say, as a regular customer to Rivaj, I’m always amazed by the level of service that we receive and the quality of the food. Nothing is ever too much trouble. We visited on Christmas Day, first time eating out on Christmas Day. The restaurant was full to capacity but level of service as fabulous as ever. Been going a few years now, always good, however last few times have been overcharged on bill by quite a bit -I advise always check your bill. Had the Boxing Day buffet (minimum of 2 ppl). Pitiful amount in finger dip bowls to be shared by 2. Had banquet before and portions, though not massive were bigger than today’s. Luckily other members of party had more than they could eat so had some of theirs too. Probably won’t go again do to repeated overcharging.

Absolutely outstanding food! Never ever had a bad meal from here. The food is the tastiest Indian in a big radius from Chorley. Would recommend to anyone.

A very awful and terrible experience at this place. The staff and the manager are very rude and arrogant. They cant wait to take your money without giving a good dining experience. Most of the staff have poor English and it takes ages to get your food or starters and drinks. The waiters seem to fall out between themselves quite a lot. There is a big gap between starters and mains to obviously make you buy more drinks. No one mentions food allergies but fortunately we are ok with that. The food wasn't spectacular to be honest had better takeaways if I am honest. Wouldn't recommend and won't be visiting again... Thomas and family..

Lovely place to eat and lovely staff. We had a few young children with us and the staff were great with them and welcoming too. We have been to a few places in the past that have made us feel like an inconvenience for having young children with us, I can state for a fact that the Rivaj is not that. The food was top notch as was the service. We will be back in the future. Thank you to all the staff at the Rivaj for such a pleasant experience.
