Tarboush Cafe in Watford

Visited Tarboush to celebrate my cousin getting married. They had hired a room at the top of the restaurant which was decorated beautifully. It was the perfect size for around 30 of us. The service was impeccable, the staff treated us so nicely. We had the set menu which had a variety of options for everyone. The lovely server asked if any of us had dietary requirements (vegetarian, vegan etc) before. The first course was a mezze plater which included falafels, samosas, halloumi, dips and bread. The main course was chicken shish, lamb shish, lamb kofta, rice and salad. For dessert, we had a selection of different baklava. EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS. I can’t fault any of the food. The restaurant doesn’t serve alcohol, but you can bring your own. My cousins had requested that the wedding dinner was strictly no alcohol anyway. They had a great selection of soft drinks, from freshly made juices to tasty coffee. They put some music on in the room which was a nice touch and also let us bring a cake. Great venue for a large gathering!

Pleasantly surprised. It was a last minute decision to eat there because of logistics of trying to arrange a rendezvous. First time visiting this place but won’t be the last time. Excellent customer service. Very friendly staff. Food came well served at a reasonable priced cost. Atmosphere was equally vibing. Only downside is the heating. It remained on and despite asking repeatedly to have it turned down , although staff seemed to attempt doing so, it kept remaining rather on the hotter side and disrupted the overall experience. Overall a 4-star experience.

The best place ever. Authentic Lebanese cousine and the service is amazing 👏 🤩 we are regulares already and every time we are welcomed like first time comers!!!

This place really surprised me. It almost looks like a regular kebab shop. But wow inside is huge and a great atmosphere. The food was the stand out for me. Everything was delicious.

I can't work out if the Tarboush we went to last night in Tring is the same chain as those mentioned in these reviews, but if not it is very similar. However the one in Tring is nevertheless very good and very welcoming and friendly so it sounds like it might be the same people. I apologise if it's not but they should be pleased anyway to be associated with this restaurant. It's really good with excellent food and service.. My only criticism would be that it is very noisy but I got the impression that the other people there didn't mind this at all. We had a mixture of dishes all of which were delicious and there were some very clean plates and some very full stomachs by the time we had finished. Despite the loudness, I would return but perhaps not in a hurry.

After not having visited for a few years, we enjoyed a lovely dinner for 2 in the (covered!) garden section. The food was amazing as per our previous experiences, service was warm and welcoming and, childcare allowing, we'll be back for another great evening.

Thank you to Sylvia for an amazing evening. Everything was perfect, the food, the private Moroccan tent and the service was impeccable. We felt like we were at home and nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely be recommending Tarbouch to everyone, and will be back! Thank you again!

This Middle Eastern feast was an absolute delight! The flavors were rich and authentic, and the presentation was simply stunning. The grilled meats were perfectly cooked and incredibly tender, with a smoky char that added a depth of flavor. The rice was fluffy and fragrant, and the accompanying salad was fresh and crisp. The sauces were the perfect complement to the dish, adding a burst of tangy and spicy notes. Every bite was a delicious adventure. I can't wait to return and try more of their delicious offerings! Definitely recommend it.

We dined here on a Wednesday evening which was very quiet. However... The food and service was excellent. Staff were super friendly and catered for all our needs. Highly recommend!

Worst Experience Ever! Tarboush was an absolute nightmare. The decor was a chaotic mess, the staff were disinterested, and the food was downright inedible. The falafel was rock-hard, the hummus tasted like chalk, and the kabobs were a mystery meat disaster. To top it off, I found a hair in my food! As if that wasn't enough, there was a family of rats running around the restaurant! The atmosphere was awful, with terrible music and a weird smell. They even charged a $5 "service fee" for their awful service. Avoid this place at all costs! 1 star because zero isn't an option!

Great night out for our first visit here. We will be back. Make sure you are hungry as large portions.

Yesterday was my fourth delightful visit to Tarboush. The warm and friendly staff never fail to make us feel welcome, and the food consistently reaches a mouthwatering standard. I can’t sing the praises of this restaurant enough. Whether you’re a local or simply passing through, indulge your taste buds and dine here—you’ll be glad you did!

Quite little place with good food and sheesha. No alcohol but you get your alcohol from outside. Staffs were good.

We came here to celebrate our mother birthday as she requested for lamb shank from Ch Ammar. The place was beautiful and the staff name Nelly was very helpful indeed. Her service was excellent. My mum enjoyed her lamb shank. Overall the food was extremely delicous expect the prawn a bit hard. It was an amazing experienced and thumbs up for the good service.

Love this place. The staff are all so friendly, and the food is amazing. One of my favourite spots. We like to order several dishes off the meze menu and share. Yet to find a dish we don't like.

I had a bad experience here, I felt like I was ignored because of my ethnic background .. and the service wasn’t to standards, I have only been here once and I don’t wish to come here again.

Ate here for the first time after staying nearby with a trip in to London Wembley stadium planned. We didnt book in advance but was welcomed in on a typical Friday night. The staff friendliness and hospitality was lovely. The restaraunt is like a tardis as its much bigger than it looks from outside and decor really is great. The food was very good quality and plentyful. (Shared a starter for 2 and then had 2 mixed grills) We left absolutely stuffed but would visit again for sure if in the area.

We visited several times before the event to check the menu, layout of the room etc. and the staff could not have been more helpful. They're friendly, reassuring, helpful and knowledgeable. They even allowed 12 of our guests to arrive early and watch the England match on the television in the Garden Room! We saw Elena and Mariana on several occasions but Sylvia deserves a special mention. She worked tirelessly last night to ensure that our bottles of fizz and wine plus beers (that had been chilling in the restaurant fridges for over 24 hours) were set out in our room with large wine buckets with ice, that our generous servings of tasty, interesting food arrived hot and at the same time for everybody and that we had everything we needed at all times. We could not fault the service and attention to detail from everyone. The belly dancer provided the perfect mid-evening entertainment and we used the Tarboush sound system to play our favourite tracks to dance the night away. Congratulations to all involved. Our friends were very complimentary about the evening and we would definitely recommend Tarboush upstairs in one of their authentic rooms for private group dining and special occasions. We had an evening to remember and will definitely be back.

The restaurant is not reliable, I had a meal at tarboush one day and the food was beautifully plated and delicious to eat and the next time I went it was the opposite. The quality of the food that came.out of the kitchen was so bad I had to complain. It was made incorrectly and I think I was sold the wrong item.or.the chef took left over scraps of chicken liver and plated it with out of date humaous..it was disgusting and the photograph is accurate of the description and the experience. I am not ordering food from them again but I do like the tea it's relaxing and well made. Service is always kind fast and professional but on the day; it is unpredictable

Another hidden gem, from the front it looks fairly nice but it's better once you're in and go through to the back. Lovely aesthetic, friendly and welcoming staff followed of course by great food served in really good portions. The mixed shish and the toshka (hot mezze) wad very good and also great value. I left full, and pleasantly surprised by less than £100 for 3 people having had a couple of drinks and two courses each + breads.

Awesome atmosphere that makes you feel at home when you walk in. And the feeling doesn’t stop when you sit down. The staff is ultra-friendly and invested in their guests having a memorable experience. We got the halloumi with mushrooms, tzatziki, lamb shawarma, and spicy chicken - all were excellent!

Bit disappointed, read the reviews & decided to go for a birthday meal with 7 family members. Was told we would be in a non Sisha area (re had 2yr old with us). Decor was worn out, seats had large burn holes in them & Sisha was being smoked several tables away but in same back area as us. Food was edible, but some of us found our meat was dry, food mediocre. A couple of us loved their food. I would not book for a birthday or any other occasion again

This is my third visit to Tarboush and took some friends. They absolutely adored their visit to this restaurant. It was all they could talk about the rest of the evening. They made us feel so welcome and, as always, the food was sublime. This has to be the best restaurant in Watford. If your hungry then Tarboush is the only choice. See you there!

Such a great place. I feel like I was in Lebanon. I ordered the baby chicken with salad and bread which was delicious 😋.. the portions are satisfying and the service (Krishna)!and shisha is quality. I would definitely recommend. :)

Lovely food and fantastic cozy atmosphere. Belly dancer was a surprise as it didn't say on Google. We went first time and would love to go again.

Every dish was fresh and delicious. I especially loved the hummus. The hotel is a small family owned business and you can taste the hard work they have put into cooking the food. It was my birthday and when they found out they even played the birthday song for me! I am sure I will be there again soon!

If you want to taste real Lebanese food, this is the place I would highly recommend! Lovely people. When you eat your food, you can feel the warmth and love of the people from this place! Just loved it. Every dish was served with very authentic taste and typical style. Loved beverages too. Tajin was super delicious.

Our friends are vegetarian so I always check menus to ensure there is a good choice for them. We fancied something different so checked out Trip advisor and came across Taboush in Market St. We know there are a variety of restaurants but hadn’t been to Market St in a long while. Taboush is just lovely. Friendly staff, and just lovely decor. A complete surprise. Obviously, we knew it was Lebanese so knew what to expect and it didn’t let us down. We chose the lunch menu, which is effectively a meze. 3 meze’s for £15. Thought we might need to order more, but wow, we came away completely stuffed. Freshly made, incredibly tasty, and a great range. Even better it’s a BYOB, so remarkable value. Cannot recommend highly enough. We will be back.

Food ok here. Shisha needs work as the flavour is very mild. We had skittles and couldn't taste it at all even when they added more flavour. Also they could bring out more bread and sauce. It's a medium for me. Youre not disappointed but youre not upset.

Love this place. Lovely staff. Used to visit more often when work place was nearer. However we still go from time to time. Accommodated 16 of us on Eid. The Tagine was absolutely delish. We had the lamb one. Would recommend 👌

The disaster at Tarboush began with their deceitful placement of bottled water on tables, followed by unjustified premiums. Their exorbitant fees for water and portion sizes compounded the issue. Coupled with dismal hygiene standards, as evidenced by the dirty plates and musty-smelling cups, it's clear they lack the integrity to run a restaurant. Tarboosh should be permanently barred from owning one again. If there is a option, I'd give 0 stars.

Good food, was very crowded, superb service

We've gotten take away from Tarboush several times now and each time I'm overwhelmed. Without question it's the most beautiful meal I've ever had. The flavors sing, it's like poetry on the tongue. It has changed my genetic make up. My cells are now made of moussaka. Sambouseks dipped in toum run through my veins. I am bliss incarnate.

We attended Tarboush late one evening after visiting Warner Brothers studios. Due to the time I called and checked the opening times. We reached Tarboush at around 2225 and had a warm welcome by the team. The place was supposed to be closing at 2300. The team led by Elena took great care of us. The food was fresh and heavenly. My 16, 11 and 7 years old kids loved the food. It was my birthday the team made it memorable with a surprise dessert topped with candle and a birthday song. The whole experience was excellent. The restaurant remained open beyond closing time until we finished. We were not rushed and rather encouraged to eat peacefully before a two hours journey to East Midlands. The staff here are friendly and welcoming and I highly recommend this place. The team leader Elena was very welcoming and friendly.

My favourite restaurant in Watford. They have brought back their meze which is amazing. For a vegetarian this is a delicious meal. A special mention for Elena. She always offers the most warm and welcoming of service. I highly recommend you visit here, you will definitely come back.

The food mezze/starters bit on the tight side for the charge e.g. Hummus. Then there are cases where the portion size is right but it is over priced e.g. Chicken liver. So the bill will rack up quite quickly. Food taster can be slightly bland o spice and garlic e.g. Sujak is not the proper spicy sausage. Baba is nice and smokey flavoured even though slightly bland. Tabbouleh is nice. Falafel is nice. Service is fast and attentive. Overall enjoyed the experience.

Wish I could give more stars! We came today for our annual District Christmas Lunch. And we were not disappointed…warm and friendly welcome from the lovely waitress upon arrival. She was fantastic! Was very attentive, and so polite. The restaurant was so beautiful. I loved how it was decorated so traditionally to feel like you were actually in the Middle East. The food, was absolutely delicious. All very hot, fresh, and very generous portions too. We had the set menu and we all left with very full bellies. Would absolutely recommend this place to everyone!
