Our second time here. The first was lovely. I dont know whats happened in 12 months. ALL of the food we ordered was incredibly greasy. We ordered fish goujons and chips for our 2 year old and there was more oily batter than fish. When you got to the fish it was awfully greasy. The chips were just as oily and he outright refused to eat. We had to rush lunch so we could get food elsewhere. Husband ordered the simplicity burger which he said was nice but again the chips were awful and left a funky aftertaste. I ordered the sea bass which was a mistake. There was hardly any fish meat, all, the veg was greasy and sloppy, some of the beans were on the uncooked side and there was a pool of oil around the food (because it wasnt greasy enough). For £60 this was a joke. We will not be back for food anyways. This place is great for drinks, they have a lovely bar!

Really lovely atmosphere and was made to feel most welcome by the manager. Food was tasty, and a good size too! There’s also some good drink deal I.e £4 a pint which is a rarity in London and the surrounding areas. I’ll definitely be going back.

We arrived without a reservation and were lucky they had space available. The food was good, and we were pleased with the quality of the pizzas. We’re surprised to see fewer ratings for this restaurant, as we believe it deserves more. Overall, we had a great dining experience.

Rubbish food, dreadful service and dirty tables. Took so long to even get a drink and it wasn’t busy at all. Food was either undercooked or re-heated, not fresh. Would most definitely not go back and would not recommend.

Walked into the restaurant and got dirty looks immediately. Waiting 20 mins roughly before getting drink orders in. Food and drink came fast which was nice, staff clearly don’t like their jobs, never check on the table to ensure everything was okay. All jobs took way longer than it needed to be. After asking for the bill the waitress wondered off to help others and forgot about the bill. Flies everywhere, way overpriced for such simple meals. Wouldn’t recommend.

Service was good but food was not … ordered veg starters to share and one arrived tasteless and one over sauced! For the prices I would have expected better. Was told by the manager that there is a secret menu which I should have asked for and sauce on the side of I did not like it drizzled!

I celebrated my son's 1st birthday at this restaurant last Saturday and it was a wonderful event, with impeccable service! The food was excellent, and the service was truly outstanding. The manager, Deborah, assisted us with a level of professionalism that's hard to find in the UK, along with great friendliness. The place was also very beautiful and clean! The event was a success, and my guests loved everything and gave many compliments! I highly recommend it!

Booked a table on a Friday evening, arrived to find it wasn’t too busy. Waited 20 minutes after being sat down to no members of staff acknowledging us so decided to leave, member of staff just said thank you as we were leaving. Saw a lot of staff chatting and waiting around as well so didn’t seem like it was an issue of being too busy or understaffed. Really disappointing when I’d booked in advance and the restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Don’t recommend.

Went here with my best friend on a Friday evening. The atmosphere was excellent - we were immediately told by the staff member who greeted us that it was tapas and salsa night, and the live DJ really helped to bring the good vibes. Food quality was excellent. I had a margherita pizza with mushrooms and the triple chocolate brownie with ice cream. Service could have been better, I wasn't sure if they were simply understaffed at the time or not making the rounds enough. It was also not clear if we were required to walk to the bar or a similar service area and order our food or if servers would tend to us.

Went on a Sunday at 6pm and had booked a table. Arrived and the restaurant was empty, we weee told our table wasn’t ready! Seated and given menus. A while later the waitress returned to take our order. I asked for a roast, only to be told they had none left….something we should have been told when we were seated. After a while our food started to arrive but not all at the same time. There was about 10mins between it all arriving. Staff seemed disinterested in the customers. Food was moderate not great. Very over priced.

Hidden gem in Watford. Amicable service and delicious roast on a Sunday afternoon.

I recently went here with some of my work girls after work for drinks and pizza. The service was amazing and really quick! our bartender Adam was so polite and very efficient. The bottomless pizza is a must! all of the pizza was cooked perfectly and we had a wonderful evening there. Couldn't fault the customer service.

Busy Saturday and the football was on too so they could have done with more staff. However the staff were friendly and the food delicious.

A week ago, my friends and I tried the bottomless pizzas at the Beech house. We were impressed with the service. The pizzas came quickand it was delicious, the lady server was professional and friendly. The bartender was quick in serving the drinks and he was lovely with a beautiful and welcoming smile. Very pleased 😀 I highly recommend.

We came here for my birthday lunch and service was terrible. Firstly, bartender was clueless. Served a gin cocktail in a whiskey glass, didn’t make it right as it was missing ingredients and actually forgot to make it in the first place as twenty minutes after we ordered it and he said he’d bring it to the table we had to go and ask him where it was! Our starters came before our drinks! It was not even busy at the time that we went so even less of an excuse as to why the service was so appalling. The worst thing about this place is the care free attitude of the staff including management, and how argumentative they are with their customers! No wonder the staff are terrible and don’t care about their service! We even had to ask for cutlery. When we initially spoke to one of the managers he didn’t apologise and was very very rude. Other people on their tables were also very unhappy with the service. Another manager that we spoke to was marginally better however choosing her favourite dessert to bring over as an apology which none of us even liked/ got the option of did not suffice. We could have been celiacs or dairy free for all she knew but she didn’t bother to ask! Absolute waste of money, do not come here. The service is awful and even if you complain, they simply do not care.

Two of us visited Thursday evening. It was 9pm and quiet. The staff were pleasant. One of us ordered the chicken and chips. The chips were fine, the side salad was fresh but the chicken was burnt. The other meal ordered was the gluten alternative pasta with chorizo and prawn. It was very dry and we were only offered cheese for the pasta half way through eating it. Although we were offered sauces when they brought the food to the table. I told the waiter we couldn't eat the chicken as it was burned, he apologised, yet we were still charged full price plus service charge. It was our first time there but we won't be back.

The restaurant decor is nice but that’s about it, we ordered the chicken wings and they were cold at the bone, we was told this was due to the chicken being brought in frozen and they weren’t sure if it comes in raw. Madness!

We had a wonderful meal at the Beech House. Needed to get some energy for the Harry Potter tour and our meal and coffee were just perfect. Lovely atmosphere and amazing staff. Would highly recommend the Beech House to all!

Really pleasantly surprised by this place, we stumbled upon it walking through Watford. We ordered pizzas which were really nice. Alex the server is really lovely, and super friendly.

Went in for some early friday evening cocktails. Nice atmosphere, not too busy, friendly and welcoming staff. Some delicious cocktails expertly mixed by Amelia, who recommended the limoncello spritz!

I went to The Beech House twice recently to watch Euro 2024 with friends. We ordered pizzas and I have to say there were twice very tasty and well made! Service was good and I liked the design of the inside. Prices are reasonable, I’ll be visiting this restaurant more often now.

Great place, we loved it, kids loved it. Great for a casual family meal and value for money. Staff really really helpful and we have 2 kids. Kids meal had lots of variety and the kids ate for once. Would make this one of our regular spots

As a regular visitor to Beech House Amersham I expected Beech House Watford to live up to the same high standards but I could not have been more wrong. Very slow service. Drinks took 15 minutes to arrive and waited 30 minutes for food even though the restaurant was virtually empty. They have a small menu compared to Amersham. When food did arrive one portion was overpriced for what we got and chicken in my dish was burnt. Needless to say we will not be going back. Only positive is that deserts arrived quickly and were OK.

The sausages did not contain meat just some kind of weird fake meat wrapped in sausage skin, the bacon is smoked and the hash browns are small for the pricing it was not a good a breakfast. It was ok in terms of the food quality, I wouldn't recommend going here because it is over priced and not good value for money

So, I can't fault the people, they were great BUT the food took over 40 mins that by the time I received it I didn't have time to eat it before I had to rush off. Very disappointing. (The rest of my group all received theirs in good time).

First time I went - we were told there was a 40min wait for food - my niece is 11 and really wanted to try it so we said ok - 45 mins later no food and we were busy watching people who got there after us eating. One table gave up and left and we asked - ‘another 15mins’. An hour and five after we ordered we ate. They gave us drinks on the house and were friendly but should have told us. Fries were good tho.

Great service during the football game today would be good for more advertising outside the venue to get more guests in and do some deal on pints and cocktails to get people to come in! Other then that Amelia, Andy and Ethan were great

We were at the Beech House today. They assured us the waiting time for the food is about 30-40min which we agreed on. Unfortunately we needed to wait more than an hour for our food and we haven't even had an update how long will take our food to be served. Unfortunately I can't leave less than 1 star for the service provided otherwise I would. We were very disappointed!

Don’t waste your time going there, I ordered a pizza Margherita and chopped avocado with egg. The pizza was absolutely disgusting, the avocado old how can they even sell this? Not even worth £5

I've visited the restaurant various times and I've tried food for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The food does taste great but the last 3 times the service has not been up to standard. Forgetting an item of the dish, waiting for over 1 hour for food without a warning or update, staff not returning when they said they would, getting drinks order incorrect twice. If they can sort these then I would definitely give it another go again. But for now all I could recommend from this location is the quality of the food.

We ordered couple of the starters and wow the Mac and cheese tasted like cardboard, it was so bland that even when I put salt on it for some taste it still tasted horrible. The burrata was ok but the flat bread was soo hard I couldn’t cut through it! The service was ok, friendly but they just leave you to it with no care or checking up on you! The place wasn’t even busy. Never will be retuning!

The main courses were delicious - we had pizzas, fish & chips and mac’n’cheese. Thought dessert would be great too but it was really disappointing except for the apple pie. The ice cream was watery and the brownies were solid & claggy. Service was friendly but they did leave us for long periods. Atmosphere was really nice.

We went for a beer as part of a small vacation. The staff was very friendly and the environment very nice.

Would never come back. Beautiful location. Food is ok. But service is a big big let down. I think no one cares about their customers here. Some one from the top management or may be the owner needs to look into this. Had to wait to long for the kids food. Just for chips and sausages.

Came here around 11:45 on Sunday for brunch. Firstly I would like to say the food was quite nice on all fronts, we had the BLT and the sweet potato hash as a table and all were very nice. However the service was a huge let down. For orders placed at 11:55 we were aggressively reminded the chef WOULD NOT start making it (the BLTs) until 12, this is fine as rules are rules but when one order for the sweet potato hash we asked to kindly come out with the others (so to hold it for only 5 minutes) we were abruptly told no guarantee. For context we were one of 3 tables at the whole restaurant when ordering. When our coffees came to the table one of them was wrong, we tried to explain to the server who groaned as we were explaining and walked off as we were speaking to her, we tried to get her attention to come back and she simply walked off. The staff seemed incredibly meek and inexperienced, we were served all our food (we noticed this happening at other tables) and there was no thought to provide cutlery until explicitly asked, they just put the food down and walked off. We also requested tap water on ordering which we didn’t receive so we asked again to the waiter who brought over a large bottle of water and again simply walked off - no glasses of any kind until we grabbed another waiter to ask for some. Lastly and unfortunately the most disappointing piece, one of the BLTs was ordered and requested multiple times to add the chips, paid at counter and returned to table, we were unsure based on how much paid if they had actually been added as we were not offered receipts, so we went in and asked a few times to ensure the chips had been added, we were told wait and see. The dish then came out without the chips and when queried she came out with chips in one hand and a card machine in the other and said she would not hand over the chips until the £3 surcharge had been paid. Quite a brazen display, I have no issue paying the surcharge for something but as it was ordered originally and reminded several times and was forgotten by the server I am shocked they would be so brazen and not apologise for the mistake and comp the few £’s for customer service. We pointed out these issues as they happened and there seemed to be no interest in apologising for them or taking accountability, the chips being prime example so unfortunately despite quite enjoying the food I am very unlikely to return as I, and my whole party, were incredibly disappointed by the service.

Left jacket and 3 quarters of pint on table to go to toilet which was no more than three minutes But they removed everything and I lost my table Where else in the world does not leaving a jacket on your seat mean you might be using the toilet or even getting another drink at the bar

I've been here a few times now. Normally I sit in the bar as dogs are allowed here and has big windows so perfect for people watching whilst sit with a coffee! Last visit we sat in the restaurant area 4 Margherita pizzas, a few beers and a couple soft drinks came to over £100. A few years ago I'd have fainted at the till, but everything is just so expensive now when eating out. It's a big area, spaced out so you don't feel cramped in the bar or in the restaurant and a massive positive is the staff, always lovely, friendly, helpful. Lina is a fantastic host and makes you want to go back again, she was so accommodating with the baby we had. Justine was super helpful too and always checking in on us to make sure everything is ok.

Such a lovely day out so decided to sit outside somewhere and have a nice cold drink ended up getting some ice cream too which was delicious with chocolate sauce and the espresso and toffee sauce, service was amazing.

We took mac and cheese and fish and chips and it was nice, simple but nice. Beer was ok. The atmosphere was also nice. Problem is the service, the to girls in charge were not really taking care and paying attention to people. Sometimes desapearing for 20 minutes.

I was reluctant to go here as it's got overall 3 stars but we tried it anyway. I now see why. The food is just poor. My pancakes definitely came out of a packet. There's no way those were made fresh, which is a shame because a pancake batter is so simple. Or they premake and fridge because they were rubbery and tiny. The service saves this place because the waiting staff and atmosphere was lovely. Sadly there are much better options along the highroad. Hopefully it improves

Best breakfasts EVER Lovely staff Quick service

First of all staff of this restaurant have no idea about where they are. Rude, depressing people. I had cheeseburger and believe me didn’t even worth a penny. Had a glass of Malbec and it was totally off and already turned to a vinegar. Nothing special at all. Don’t waste your money!

Very pleasant restaurant. There are also several vegan dishes. The service is quick and friendly. They also get along really well with large groups! The music was sometimes too loud, but otherwise it's a very relaxed place with delicious food and great drinks. Also suitable for large groups!

Just a bit disappointed! We had been on a team building day and needed somewhere to eat at the end of the day. I had to bring my dog too as he had been left alone in the office for a couple of hours, so I didn't want to leave him any longer. This is why we chose The Beech House, although the alternative was Cassio Lounge, which in hindsight may have been better. There was 7 of us, and we had to sit in the bar due to the dog. All of the seating areas struggled to accommodate 7 people, especially to fit 7 plates on the tables. One of my team went up to ask the lady behind the bar if it would be possible for someone to come over and take our order, rather than having 7 of us individually head up to the bar. She refused. So, we made a list and one of the team went up to order. I noticed during the meal that my teams glasses were empty and I had set up a tab and told them to use and abuse it. I feel that The Beech House lost out on sales here had someone offered us more drinks, they would have been accepted I'm sure! Food arrived, table too small to fit... but I do understand that we had a dog, so we fumbled along. When presented with the bill, I asked the lady at the bar (same one who said 'no' to assisting us earlier) "is the food the same price in the bar as it is in the restaurant?" she responded "yes" so I asked "please could you remove the £24 service charge then, thank you" I couldn't believe the audacity to try and charge for service when that very service was requested and declined. It really wasn't that busy and this young lady had to scope to provide good service and the potential to receive £24 reward for it. I'd be interested to know what the company policy is? I understand that at busy times it may not be practicable, however, no excuses on a quiet Tuesday night. In hindsight I have now seen the venues reviews, which had I read before, I may have avoided the place.

Poor pizza, hard flat crust, dry burrata more like mozzarella , poor mozzarella on pizza. When I told them how bad the pizza was they started to make excuses rather than apologising. Avoid.

We went as a party of 8 on a Sunday morning. It was quiet, we were seated straight away, and the staff were friendly. The food arrived quickly and was super yummy.

We arrived this afternoon to a pretty empty restaurant with our young family and were seated on a standard unstable table. We asked if we could be reseated on a nicer window booth, as there was many available, to be advised by the manager that they were already reserved for those that had booked. Their website advises that seating is on a first come first serve basis, so my husband brought this to their attention. They still declined our request and we was told (this time by another member of management), that there is a standard note section when making bookings and four reservations had already asked for window booths. Thinking that we were born yesterday and expecting us to believe that all four reservations had randomly made this request; when the guests had arrived we begrudgingly asked them if they had requested booth seats. Each and every table confirmed that they were also walk ins and none of them had made a reservation. WE WERE THEREFORE LIED TO BY TWO MANAGING MEMBERS OF STAFF. When we had finished our meal we asked the manager why they had lied, he looked like a deer in headlights and his response was incoherent. He didn’t even give us an answer. I can only presume that they were discriminating us as we were accompanied with a young yet well mannered child. Maybe a family orientated restaurant wasn’t the vibe they wanted to set to others walking by. Either way, we are a working class family and we feel completely disrespected, even after spending £100 and still leaving them a tip. Furthermore, the wait times to be served were long, they overcharged us for a drink which we needed to prompt them to take off the bill, and the food is standard at best. If you want to attend as a family, I strongly advise against it. The Beech House has not been accommodating and I’m left feeling disrespected and embarrassed. Why were we objectified and why were we not good enough? I never leave reviews but their staff need to understand that they need to treat all customers as equals. Management should know better and lying to paying customers is just unacceptable.

Though I really liked the food and thier gluten and dairy free desserts they serve, the service wasn't good. Esp, for someone with intolerance or allergy, they don't seem to take it seriously. I have ordered coffee with Soy milk and when the waitress brought to the table, she wasn't sure whether it was Soy milk or normal as my partner was getting the same with normal milk. She wasn't even willing to go and check and said she got too many tables to serve and left us to figure out!

I feel I have been let down by the sheer neglect and discourtesy displayed by their staff. Upon arrival, we were subjected to a ten-minute wait without any acknowledgment or interim updates. This in itself wouldn't have been an issue had it been handled with a modicum of courtesy or professionalism. However, what transpired next was frankly unacceptable. Once we were finally addressed, it was not with an apology for the wait or an expression of gratitude for our patience. Instead, we were bluntly informed that the restaurant was "fully booked for lunch," closing off any possibility of dining there, including the option to sit at the bar area, which remained conspicuously unoffered. The lack of basic customer service etiquette and the sheer disregard for potential patrons was startling. It's one thing to manage a busy service period; it's entirely another to do so in a manner that is both disrespectful and disgraceful to those who have taken the time and effort to visit. The experience left us feeling undervalued and unwelcome, casting a shadow over what could have been a delightful culinary exploration. It's disheartening to see establishments forgetting that the cornerstone of hospitality lies not just in the food served but in how guests are treated from the moment they step in. In this case, the service fell woefully short of the basic standards of respect and courtesy. I hope this feedback serves as a constructive critique, emphasizing the importance of first impressions and the fundamental principles of hospitality. Every guest deserves to be treated with respect and consideration, regardless of how busy the service may be.

Really enjoyed our BLT, onion rings were fabulous & seasoned fries gorgeous

We were asked if we wanted our starters with our main? No! When the starters arrived, we had one we didn't order, one garlic bread that had no garlic on it, one that was cold, and one that arrived a long time afterwards! To be fair to them, they only charged us for the late starter. The mains were very average. We didn't wait for dessert. Staff were friendly but we won't rush back.

Just had dinner with my son. We were looking for a place to eat, saw the menu outside and decided to give it a go. Very pleasantly surprised. The Neapolitan pizza reminded me of the pizzas in Naples a few years ago (this is amazing as I’ve not talked Neapolitan pizzas like this in the UK). The halloumi fries were also excellent and the vegan burger was good. Service was excellent and the manager (I assume) even though we turned up without a reservation on a Saturday evening.

Quite a nice restaurant with many good options to pick from. We found the service to be a little slow, having to wait around an hour for our food despite there not being many other diners. When the food did come though, it was well worth the wait!

Was really worried after seeing reviews but we popped in on a Saturday afternoon for a quick bite with the kids and was pleasantly surprised. Food was nice, service was friendly and quick. Only downside is they didn't have veggie sausages for our 10 year old veggie bit replaced them with halloumi fries for the same cost

Came here for my birthday (as I did the previous year). The food was excellent and the staff are fantastic! They were very personable and they really did make you feel looked after. They also did a great job preparing the cake my partner baked. Would highly recommend (probably the best dining experience in Watford based on variety of food and quality of staff).

Ive visited on Tuesday with my family for the first time! I loved the atmosphere! They were so busy, only two people working, one chef was serving food at the tables. They all had smiles in their faces. Our food and drinks arrived so quickly that we couldn’t believe how they managed to do it all! We definitely will be back!

The Zucca Pizza was a flavour sensation with its perfect blend of roasted butternut squash, Fior di Latte Mozzarella, spinach, and sundried tomatoes. The Butternut Squash, Mushroom & Spinach Pie was a veggie delight with Ras el Hanout roasted cauliflower, tenderstem broccoli, and crushed new potatoes. To spice things up, tried the Lebanese Fries – a true highlight! The harissa glaze, garlic mayonnaise, spring onions, chilli, and spiced seeds created a symphony of flavors that left me craving more. The Beech House has truly mastered the art of combining fresh, sustainable ingredients with culinary creativity. From pizzas to pies and inventive fries, each dish is a culinary masterpiece. The cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, and diverse menu make it a standout in Watford's dining scene. Highly recommend for a memorable gastronomic journey! 🍕🥧🍟

Poped in for a quick lunch after Christmas shopping. Bruschetta for starters and a burger and avocado on toast for main for two people. Service was good and the atmosphere relaxing and quiet. Unfortunately the avocado taste was a bit old but still edible. Service staff asked for feedback and were very polite and receptive. Overall a nice experience for what we wanted.

First time trying the place for my birthday. They missed one of our parties main meals and never arrived until everyone else had finished. Asked for water 3 times, had to remind them of coffee. Food was standard. Would not return, overpriced, terribly run. I actually felt sorry for the manager for her incompetent staff. Disappointed. Will not return

Had a perfect dinner with friends. Food was excellent and authentic in taste. Also their service is commendable.

Quite a nice place, decent quality food. However sadly one member of our party never got their food! They had completely forgotten it and by the time it had arrived everyone else had finished their meals! Sadly very disappointing and ruined what was a decent meal!

Christmas meal trip! All lovely, food, service, music, all had a great time

Service is so slow. Restaurant wasn't even busy, 1hr for a sandwich and drink. Won't be going back.
