This was the first time in months that I've been here, but trust me nothing has changed Great selection of ale and cider, and the abv range is good, so early sessions not a prob. Then when you have an in house steak and ale pie 🥧 well it's lift off fantastic and the whole portion size with mash veg and gravey spot on. Thanks for being still a great pub.

An exceptionally friendly pub from the owners of the well regarded Pineapple in Leverton street. Really good selection of ever changing well kept real ales, justifiably a repeated winner of the CAMRA North London pub of the year award. The gastro pub style food is good (better than the sister pub, The Pineapple's Thai menu). The bar service is always fast and the resident cat; Nelson, is often happy to be stroked.

A great pub, I loved the music-severe issue with the Guinness though, as a fellow publican I think it's a problem with the gas (no shade just as a helping hand, I'm also Irish)

Unfortunately they weren't doing food when I visited. Was there with a party of friends and was hoping to eat, but the beer was in good condition and the staff friendly and welcoming.

Gone downhill sadly. This used to be the best pub in the area. It’s been going downhill a while but especially so since they took on staff from the closed down Lady Hamilton. The staff ignore queue order and take their friend’s orders ahead of everyone else. They are mardy at best. I think most of them are just strung out and unprofessional. Food is decent but not enough to draw me in anymore.

We went as part of a running group.... Good selection of ales on tap us some tasty mulled cider. the landlord looked after our bags while we ran..... then we had a great roast meal for 18 quid

Honestly, I just keep coming back over the years. Whether with friends or flying solo, it's just a lovely place with nice staff and good food. And always popular!

The Admiral is a perfect neighborhood bar a short walk from the craziness of Camden Market. The best cask ale selection I came across. Their drafts were constantly changing while I was there. They also do a phenomenal Sunday roast. Thanks so much for welcoming me in!

I stopped for a pint on a Sunday afternoon... What a treat! Quiet area, very warm and welcoming atmosphere. Friendly people, friendly customers, quirky and peculiar decor. It's one of the local pub that makes you feel like home 🏠 and great selection of beers!!!

Had an amazing time here as usual. Great service from the team and the atmosphere is always warm and inviting. It’s a gem of a spot tucked away from the busy streets of Kentish Town and Camden. Can’t wait for winter as the fire is roaring and the pub cat looks more and more like the king he is.

Been here twice, both times wonderful. Nelson the pub cat is always around, keeping an eye on everything. Full of happy people enjoying a good pint or 4. Food here is excellent 👍

Great atmosphere with live music. I was lucky to see Whiskey Mick live with a guitar band playing some sea shanties. Had a lot of fun!

Lovely pub with good beer and cider. However, this is the second time we have had trouble with food orders. We had to wait over 1hr for food we had ordered, no warning, some of my party over 1.5 hrs. This also happened last time we ate here.

Unmatched for vibes, quality of service and line cleaning standards. The staff are so relaxed and so profesional, I truly don’t understand how they manage to sustain this energy being such a busy and popular pub!

Friendly, chilled pub. Good beers and non alcoholic beer options. Lots of seating in cute courtyard and dog friendly too- What's not to like!

Good honest pub grub. I went here on a Friday night; If it's fair to say that it's a popular pub and a busy on Friday nights, then this is a successful local. It was very busy and had lots of the louder younger crowd in it (no doubt celebrating ensuing summer weekend ahead). The food is mostly well made burgers, I had the Lamb burger, Chips are chunky by default but everything was worth the wait. I'd be happy to return.

Went to the pub on way to a gig at the forum. Really impressed with everything about the pub. The beer is kept well and the choice is excellent. The pie I had was very tasty and the rest of the menu looked just as good. Bar staff were very friendly and there was a real mix of people in the pub enjoying themselves. Great to find another brilliant pub and if I'm back up that way again will definitely pop in. Super pub. Tom E6

This is a fantastic old fashioned pub with great decor and an amazing atmosphere, lovely staff and fantastic range of craft and real ale beers but mostly real ale. I cannot urge you enough to support this amazing pub. Pub quiz on the Wednesday I was there.

One of the most unique pub experiences you could have in London. A truly local, neighborhood feel and vibe with some special characters. Even the owners cat, who is very comfortable with all the noise and commotion of a busy pub on a Friday evening. Kentish Town is a cool neighborhood and it only makes sense that a pub like this exists. Some great cask options, tasty cocktails, and a seriously sneaky good food menu. Beer garden out back is cozy, too. This is a special place! If you enjoy real/cask/hand-pulled ales, you need to get here as soon as you can.

An excellent real ale pub nearby to Kentish Town West station. Such a classic venue with a resident pub cat too. There’s not a great deal of choice of keg, but it’s perfectly serviceable. The cask selection is brilliant and mostly below £5 a pint (and comfortably so in most cases). It was under resourced in terms of staff but could’ve been a rush on but the lady was very friendly by all accounts. Plenty of outside space too for an inner London pub. 5/5 all round!

Pretty good pub food. Went for the Sunday roast, and they had a number of good options, including even for vegetarians. Otherwise, a pretty standard pub in every other way.

Excellent old Skool Boozer, excellent choice of real ales & ciders. Top Cat too with Nelson in the house.

Nice pub but their website cannot be trusted - apparently they don't do food on Mondays at all, let alone the pie and pint deal they advertise on their website.

Friendly street corner pub with an eclectic character and a great range of cask and craft beers. Outdoor seating to front and back. Busy for a Monday night and I got the impression it's a popular local spot. No food on Mondays but they are happy for you to bring a take away in. Well worth a visit.

Tucked away at the north end of Camden Town, Tapping the Admiral is a special pub. On Castle Street next to the railway line, offering the peculiarly comforting rumble of freight cars passing overhead (nearly). A great range of beers both from the cask and keg. The staff are funny, lovely and good at serving drinks, perfect! There is a little alleyway garden with loads of seating at the side/back of the pub. The boss is furry, has four legs and is currently sleeping. A splendid pub!

Tapping the admiral is my favourite pub in the area by far. Been living around here for a few years now & have really come to love this place :) the pies are amazing (well worth the wait) & the have a frequent rotation of cool stuff on draught! Not to mention fabulous Nelson curled up by the fire. Highly recommend this spot x

One of the last proper pubs in London! Great atmosphere, great selection of beers on rotation, friendly staff and landlord who really care about their customers. It’s small and cosy and can have quite a fun atmosphere on the weekend when the regular locals tend to be on top form. Love it here.

Wonderful and very professional service from the staff who are all young and switched-on. Food was excellent. I only wish I had more time and self-destructive license to try more of their vast stock of drinks. Would certainly recommend booking a table for a party like we did!

local pub near Camden market but you can avoid all the touristy-ness here cuz it is located in a very quiet residential area. the guy sitting outdoors who looked like a regular told us what we should have, so we went for a beef Sunday roast and french onion soup. both were really good, properly caramelized and all. the portion of the roast was huge, so you might consider ordering one small plate and share like what we did.

Absolutely great roast dinners on Sunday… I had slow cooked roast lamb my friend roast chicken … so many veg n potatoes inc cauliflower cheese… £18 ! Come on you crnt beat that. This place is always absolutely amazing. I can't rave about this pub enough! It has a friendly pub atmosphere where many locals know each other and a good range of beers on tap. Added bonus is that you get a CAMRA discount if you are a member. The bar staff are friendly, helpful and attentive. There is a pub cat that is so cool it isnt bothered about all the customers. They also do lovely pies with the best crust I have ever tasted that they serve in the week and their roasts are lovely too. They give good portions of horseradish or mustard on the side. Sometimes they do a chocolate cake on their dessert menu and it is crazy yummy. I dont even like chocolate cake but i will always go for this if it is on the menu. It always seems pretty busy but that only adds to the atmosphere. There is a small outside area with seating. It is not too far from Kentish Town station. Definitely worth checking out if you are in the area. The only downside is there are parking restrictions all around the pub and that area so best to travel via uber or public transport.

The best roast ever and such an amazing atmosphere.

Awesome pub. No chance of meeting Nelson though - Saturday night and packed to the rafters - but great atmosphere and beer. Found seating in beer garden which was fine even in frigid March.

Went there on a busy Friday evening for drinks and dinner, it was pretty busy and lively (but can be a little noisy). I really enjoyed the beef pie, they used suet pastry casing instead of shortcrust or puff pastry which was a great for retaining its nice texture when sitting in a pool of flavoursome but not salty gravy. The pie fillings were great as well, meat was tender, and carrots/ parsnips / swede were cut in decent sized chunks so you could really enjoy the taste and texture of them (unlike some other pies I’ve had elsewhere that just cut them too fine and disappear in the mix). Mash potatoes could potentially be smoother though, and maybe a little more of the greens for balance. Sausage has good texture based on the one bite I’ve tasted.

I hesitate to add to the reviews as this is a great( not so secret) pub tucked away on a little corner off the main drag between camden and kentishtown ,super friendly staff always on hand to keep everyone served no matter how busy it gets ,good choice of beers ,great guiness and thurday nights live music from Whiskey Mick and friends is always a highlight!!!
