A gem of a Tap, has a cosy room full of games. We had a nibble of Nachos and dips, we had the Brownie Hunter , chocolate fudge stout and it was really nice. Friendly and helpful staff.

Kayley & her team were great hosts, chatty and attentive to all customers. The locals made us very welcome too. Great selection of drinks - real ale, cider, wine, vodka, rum & probably more that we didn't sample whilst staying over the road at the Travelodge. Sampled the made to order pizza which was tasty. Selection of board games if you like to while away your time. Only downside for me was the ladies toilets are up a steep flight of steps, although they were very clean and beautifully decorated which made the stairs worth the effort. Thanks for having us!

A traditional pub and ale house and a good venue suited for all meeting and social occasions, the staff make you very welcome and the food and beer is very good quality and value.

Very busy but great atmosphere and service 👍

Staff were lovely and very helpful. Some of the patrons were quite rowdy, I'm not sure if they were out for a celebration but it wasn't fitting with the area.

Popped in for a quick drink and was impressed by the range of beers etc sold on draught and in cans or bottles. Great if you are a beer drinker. Some pleasant outdoor spaces to enjoy the sun.

Tim Taylor Landlord! This is a great British pub. They serve Tim Taylors beer and the staff are knowledgeable about the excellent selection of beers. The atmospehere is welcoming and friendly. Nice outdoor dringing area. Super range of white wines. Would call agian....

Popped in here at the weekend while staying in the Travelodge opposite. Only wanting drinks, we grabbed a table for a quick rest after walking the town. They have a good selection of proper beers plus a range of spirits and cocktails. The pint of Kirkstall went down nicely and we got chatting to a couple of visitors from British Columbia who were over on holiday. Very pleasant half hour.

Love this Pub! A little gem hidden away on the outskirts of town. Very friendly team, great selection and food is nice. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic pub, incredibly well run with a great selection of beers and snacks.

It looked nice enough, but unfortunately, there was no real ale stout or even a dark ale, so we left. I'm sure the ale they did have was lovely if ipa's are your preferred tipple. Staff seemed friendly. Visited 17/05/24

We were visiting for the weekend and popped over to Tap on Tower Street late a on a Friday. The pub was in full swing, but the service was quick and the atmosphere pleasant. A huge board game collection which we were unable to enjoy as the pub was simply too busy (with good reason)! If we had known we would have definitely spent the day here! Great spot. Perfect if you want a traditional, friendly pub!

A great selection of beers, with craft beers and fridges full of craft cans - plus 25% off for takeaway cans! Lots of games for students etc too - prices not bad either! Very pleased!!

We popped in here for a light bite and a drink after a long day driving from Scotland. Staff were very friendly. There was a mix up with our order but it was professionally dealt with and did not affect a pleasant evening out. The pizzas are good. Beer fine and a nice atmosphere. Situated across from our hotel, it was very convenient. Recommend.

Very friendly pub around the corner to the west park Hotel where we stayed. Welcoming and chatty staff, excellent local beer choice, pizzas superb. Best white wine in Harrogate according to my wife! Will definitely come back when we visit harrgate again

Ordered 2 dishes of nachos for nearly £7 each, only for bar staff to wait until AFTER we’d paid before telling us they were out of ingredients. The nachos were a small paper plate of tasteless cheap savers style chips likely just the cheapest option from bookers, and definitely not worth the amount we paid for. I’ve had the pizza from here and that’s been hit and miss on whether you get a delicious pizza or a burnt pizza with hardly any topping. Don’t think I’ll be ordering food from here anymore.

What a great find this place was, great atmosphere, warm friendly staff. Great range of drinks. We had food, nachos amazing, pizzas amazing, garlic bread with cheese amazing all pipping hot. Would highly recommend. We played some of the games as well. All adding to the experience. Will visit again when back North.

We love our real ales and this was recommended to us. Lovely pub, warm & lively with a lovely atmosphere. Visited at 6.30pm. Only criticism is the staff…..neither of the two staff that served us had a clue about the ales they were selling and had no interest at all in assisting us in our choices. Such a shame……the bar staff can add so much to a pub experience 😟

Once again The Tap did not disappoint. A spicy chicken pizza and a couple of pints of Timothy Taylor Landlord filled a gap.

Excellent range of hand pulled ales, good food, plenty of seating inside and out. Staff are great, attentive and friendly. Dogs are welcome. There is a games room with a massive selection of board games to enjoy. Quiz nights and events are held regularly. One of the best traditional pubs Harrogate has to offer.

Great drinks, bar snacks and service. We enjoyed the pig in duvet, scotch egg and pizzas. Lots of choice of beer on tap, wine on offer and friendly service. Will definitely visit again next time we're in the area.

Had a great time, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the pizzas are great and there is a great beer selection including an amazing bottle choice from the fridges. Muchos Nachos are great

It’s become the default meeting place for our Scout Leader get togethers as it’s a friendly place with plenty of room (and rooms!)

Lovely pub just off the two centre. Main attraction for me is the great range of real ales which are well-kept. I’ll be back.

This is the best pub in town. Excellent beer (well kept casks), nice bar food, loads of community stuff going on. I absolutely love every visit.

I haven't eaten here so haven't given them a score for food.

Well worth seeking this pub out and it’s actually closer to the railway station than most of the other places I visited (but in the opposite direction) Great choice of cask ales.

A great and unique pub. There is a large board-game selection with many classics. I've been there over 20 times with friends and we've only scrapped the surface of the board-games available to play. However some of them are in bad states which is unfortunate. Food and drink are very nice and reasonably priced. I'm a huge fan of the muchos nachos. While ordering I love reading the jokes that they write on the slate. There is a pub quiz on Wednesdays. It's important to have alot of time on your hands as there is alot of time between questions. I'm a big fan of this personally as it gives time to chat in between questions or to think if you are struggling. The quizmaster is very passionate about the quiz which always makes it a fun one. He is also very friendly as are the rest of the staff

In the main fridge bar, may I suggest a black board on the brick wall, showing all the guest beers from the lounge bar and future beers for the forth coming week. Great Pub.

Great selection of real ales. Really friendly staff and lovely traditional pub. Amazing board games room, we watched the World Cup in one bar, with friendly locals and there was a TV free bar if that wasn't your thing. A great find away from the main busy centre of town. Do go and try it, you won't be disappointed.

Fantastic pub, great staff, amazing choice of beers… but there are 3 ‘regular’ customers who insist on forcing their large, out of control dogs on you. Nasty. Love dogs but these people are irresponsible & aggressive. Apart from that - superb & well worth a visit👍

The Tap on Tower Street is a top class pub with a modern yet traditional kind of decor. They have an excellent selection of real ales as well as cask beers and all the other lagers, ciders etc. The service was top class and this is definitely one of the best pubs in Harrogate.

This is a “ pub pub”! Lively friendly mixed clientele. Staff attentive, clean, brilliant atmosphere. Would highly recommend.

Hi, had lunch there. Was served with tapas, which was nothing more than Doritos covered in melted cheese, impossible to eat tidily as they were stuck together, ughhhhhh!, not good.

A really nice, rustic styled pub and a good selection of ales. Sadly, the staff are rude, dismissive and lack basic customer service skills. A member of the bar staff dumped the beers on the bar and left after huffing and puffing throughout pulling 2 pints. Then left the ale with large head and then continued to huff and puff when I asked for a top up. Sad to say, soured the experience and the pub and ale was actually pretty nice.

Top pub, service, plenty of board games, and quiz on Wednesdays @ 8pm. However our team was marked down by the neighbouring lesser loser team for "eating shrimp" as an answer to why flamingos are pink. I can't let it go and I do want retribution.

Nice traditional pub, good atmosphere and decent beer. Loses one star for the TV being on in both rooms. Will become a regular after the cultural vandalism of the Coach around the corner.

After revisiting the catastrophic refurb at the Coach and Horses round the corner, we popped into the Tap. It was like stepping into a pair of comfy slippers, a proper pub with a bar you can sit at, excellent range of Yorkshire beers, and some snug places to sit.

On one of the hottest evenings of the year, we enjoyed a drink outside. Very pleasant staff and good value for money. Definitely worth another visit

This is always a nice place for a relaxing drink. During the day it’s always been fairly quiet and in the evening there’s a lively but friendly crowd with it staying open until late. It’s nice that there’s a separate bar area to a more dining style section and the service from the bar is quick which ever one you’re in. There’s also some seating outside although unfortunately it’s never in much sun. The range of drinks offered is great and the prices sensible. Certainly somewhere I’ll be returning to again and I’d recommend.
