Tantrum Doughnuts in Glasgow City

I would agree that it’s better than Krispy Kreme. They have some really interesting flavors. The fact that they’ve mentioned on the box “Made by people, not machines!” makes whole lot of sense. My next go to for a doughnut for sure. 👍🏼

I don’t often bother leaving reviews but this place is so good! I popped in today to buy some donuts for my family. The flavours all sounds very exciting and everything looked delicious. I bought a selection of different ones and everybody was very happy with them. I had a matcha one and it was so good! (And I don’t even normally like donuts!) The staff member who served us was friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience and we’ll be back!

These donuts were hands down the best donuts we’ve ever had. The donut itself was lovely, but the cream cheese topping and the custard filling made the whole flavour outstanding. Am glad I don’t live closer because I’d be there every day 😂

This is my third visit to Tantrum and other than the “old fashion” I haven't found their doughnuts to be better than any other bakery. I strongly recommend and enjoy any of the “old fashion” doughnuts as I enjoy the texture of the old doughnut and I enjoy that they are bringing the original doughnut back. I will always visit Tantrum whenever I am passing through Glasgow for an old fashion, if you haven’t tried one get yourself to Tantrum! Unfortunately though I generally find the big show doughnuts to be underwhelming. I first had the Salted honey ring, which wasn’t particularly salty or overly sweet, it was very similar to an icing sugar glazed ring. Maybe I’d just not picked a good one so I tried a Baileys doughnut and my wife ordered one of the Christmas ginger doughnut, there was a very strong to the point of overwhelming taste of alcohol in the baileys one and the ginger one had such a kick of ginger it was actually spicy to eat, neither were particularly enjoyable. Today I thought I’d give the jazzed up doughnuts another try as I do love peanut butter and jam. The doughnut was a lot of dry dough with a big ball of really sweet jam only in the very centre and on top of the doughnut there was a dry ring of some kind of peanut butter icing (which wasn’t nutty and kept crumbling off while I was eating it), by the time I had reached the centre of the doughnut I had more jam than pastry and eating the last half was just as unpleasant as eating the first. There was no peanut butter anywhere near the doughnut and biting into the centre was similar to putting a heaped tablespoon of jam in your mouth.

Saw this place and the doughnuts looked fantastic. Bought 6 at a cost of just over £18 and was massively disappointed. The driest and most tasteless doughnuts I've have had. Definitely style over substance.

We were walking past and there was a queue, so a good sign. However, we ordered 6 doughnuts and they were 2 choc millionaires, 2 milk and cookies donut, 1 vanilla bean and 1 blueberry. They looked nice, wish I could say the same thing about the taste. All of them except the choc millionaires were dry, stale and tasteless, while the choc millionare had a pleasant chocolate filling but was still quite dry. Over priced, £18.80 for 6. Wouldn't recommend

Lovely place, lovely staff. But unfortunately the doughnut I had (sticky toffee pudding) was dry and very cakey. I was expecting it to be nice and light. My daughters lemon and poppyseed was also very dry.

Deliberadamente fuimos por los "ligeros y mullidos" : Ruibarbo y natillas, crema Brulee y uno de frambuesa y pistacho (creo que eso fue lo que fue). Muy bien empacado en una caja. Llegué a casa, me puse el café, y cada uno estaba seco y francamente insípido. La cantidad de natillas en las que contenían natillas era mezquina. En cuanto a ser ligeros y esponjosos, bueno estos eran muy densos. Seriamente decepcionado. No en ninguna parte de la misma liga que Fisher y Donaldson. No podía faltar la presentación, pero Tantrum Doughnuts sus productos de hoy eran definitivamente abrigo de piel y sin bragas.

Best donuts in Glasgow!! We were trying to find some as good as in NYC and here they are! The espresso one - fantastic! The old fashioned ones - my favorites! The vanilla bean - my husband’s fave. Check them out and treat yourself!! The ladies serving us were so lovely ❤️

Tantrum Doughnuts - Gordon Street Passed by @tantrumdoughnuts the other day and couldn’t resist popping in for a treat. I went for the Blueberry Pretzel Cheesecake doughnut, £3.15. The cream on top was class, but the blueberry jam was quite tart and dominated the taste. Also there wasn’t much added from the pretzel. Still, the flavours worked well when you got a bite with all of the elements together. Next time I’d sit in, defo wasn’t the easiest to eat on the move. Tantrum always switches up their flavours, so I’ll definitely be back to try one of their huge ring doughnuts next time! I've popped in here a few times and overall the donuts are very nice, not greasy like KK donuts. Its good that they are fresh daily so you never get that dry stale taste. Service is always pleasant.

The window display first attracts your attention with the big donuts with toppings you've never seen before. Then your desire forces you to enter. Upon entry you are met by very pleasant and very informative staff. Highly trained on their products. Your are then spoiled for choice. No preservatives which means it's as fresh as you can get and let me say, they taste awesome! Well done TD!

O.M.G,these were some of the best doughnuts we have had in a long time.I had the creme brulee and mum had the pistachio and hibiscus....they were lovely.My only criticism was as a takeaway they were in a paper bag without a piece of greaseproof paper so they stuck to the bag.None the less they were great.On our next visit we picked the wrong ones and they weren't as good,but will still go back again,especially for the creme brulee

A feast for your eyes! Had coffee and a delicious doughnut as a treat. Very tricky to decide what to go for. Cosy seating at the back, and a loo. Nice to be away from the big coffee chains. Recommended

The crème brule donut was the best donut I’ve ever had

4.5 stars. Donuts are tasty and sweetness isn’t excessive. Perhaps could have a bit more filling. They are big though. Pricing seems fair. Coffee is decent. This is an ok place to sit and have a break. Small seating area though. You can take a photo with their photo of Phil, which is fun. If you’re in Glasgow, worth a stop.

Great selection donuts and drinks at good prices. Their vegan options tasted just as good as the regular options, and the portion of these donuts are so good they genuinely could last me for half a day. Staff was wonderful and incredibly friendly, and their cheerfulness and care genuinely contributed so much to the whole experience. Efficient service too. Electrical sockets are available near the taller chairs, which also have hooks under the table which makes it very convenient to store any baggage without having to put it under the table. Wifi is available, and the connection is stable enough for me to complete my work there. Toilets are also very clean and well maintained, with all the essentials, with feminine products available if necessary.

Had a really nice soft creme brulle doughnut here. Had to queue for about 10 min on a Sunday 1pm. Cards are accepted and there are toilets inside.

I can’t comment on the sit in option/ any other menu items apart from the doughnuts. I’m happy to support local independents, I’m glad my money was spent on an independent business but the doughnuts, despite looking amazing, were mediocre at best. They all tasted the same if I’m honest despite having different flavours. The girl who served me was pleasant and the shop was busy.

Visité la tienda en Shawlands con mis 3 hijos el último domingo de septiembre para un regalo. Las rosquillas se veían increíbles y realmente tentadoras. Decidimos optar por una caja de 4 de estas golosinas dulces que eran enormes, por lo que de hecho la señora que nos sirve tuvo que meterlas en la caja, sugeriría envases más grandes o al menos ponerlos en 2 cajas para evitar que transfieran los ingredientes / sabores a las otras rosquillas. Aquí es donde nuestras expectativas rápidamente se sumergieron en la nariz - las rosquillas eran muy densas y parecían rancios en el sabor, aunque las coberturas eran agradables, aunque un poco dulce era la textura de la rosquilla en sí que era muy decepcionante no sabía fresco. Por esa razón no creo que volveríamos a visitar. Deciremos que el personal era muy acogedor y amable.

Visited today after admiring while walking past for what feels like forever. Oh my goodness what a treat! I had the cheesecake donut and took some old fashions home. All were incredible as was my chai latte, can't wait to return. My daughter had a great time colouring in and chatting to the staff although they were super busy. Truly a gem just wish i had come sooner.

Tasty doughnuts, great variety of flavours. Some can seem a smidge pricy but worth the splurge for an indulgent treat, and my favourite is that the old fashioned, and that's only a pound. Which is amazing value for handmade made fresh daily doughnuts. Happy, smily staff at every visit. Highly recommend.

Went to Glasgow with my daughter and decided to visit here as a wee treat. My daughter got the crème brulle donut and I got the jam and peanut butter. They were lovely but very very pricey.

Best doughnuts in Scotland! Now I haven't tried every doughnut in Scotland but so far the best and I'm been around. Not that I eat a lot of doughnuts either but they're a treat to myself whenever I have a date day or a me day which are far and few in between. But everytime I come to Glasgow, I always try and get a Tantrum. Especially the creme brulee. The doughnuts are just lovely and they do some of unusual ones, and they never disappoint, even if they aren't "wow I need another", I haven't had one which I couldn't finish. The staff is always lovely, welcomes you to the store and make small chit chat. Go, just go and treat yourself.

Our new favourite place for tea and a sweet treat. The donuts are exceptionally good and aren't crazy sweet. I wish they had big mugs for tea.

Visited this place because of Phil Rosenthal... We expected great doughnuts, and we've had the chance to eat great doughnuts! The team is very nice, the food is very tasty, and the prices are not so high for the quality offered! I truly recommend this place for the ones who want a sweet break in Glasgow!

Never felt compelled to rate a doughnut place until now. The matcha mango doughnut was divine! Pillowy soft, with a nice slight crunch from (what I assume were) chia seeds, and a mango/matcha topping that was neither too sweet nor too bitter! And staff were lovely too. Amazing all around!

Cool place. Donut selection is not overwhelming and the choices are novel. The Second Breakfast Apple option was not overwhelmingly sweet while still being a fine desert-for-breakfast option that donuts provide. Seating is two bench tables for 6 or 8 each. Plus outdoor I think. Staff was friendly and prices reasonable. Enjoyed!

The dough for the doughnuts was excellent, but the different flavors didn't really add much (for example, the maple & the bacon were not as good as maple frosting and bacon I've had on many other similar doughnuts).

This doughnut and coffee shop has superb doughnuts and really good coffee drinks. Make sure to try the rhubarb and custard doughnut. It's even better with a Tantrum flat white. Not to be missed!

High quality ingredients in the doughnuts and they aren’t too sweet or oily at all. The coffee is also pretty decent. Staff are very friendly (of course because it’s Glasgow). Good quick breakfast choice in the city centre.

We were in Glasgow for 3 days and stopped at Tantrum Doughnuts on Gordon Street every day and tried at least 8 different doughnuts in total. All the doughnuts look inviting and the ones we tried were delicious. The staff are pleasant and the service is fast.

We grabbed donuts for our "dinner" while visiting Glasgow. So yummy and delicious! Highly recommend the Pistachio Hibiscus and Old Fashioned Lemon Poppyseed.

This was highly recommended to me and I can see why! The doughnuts were absolutely delicious, the creme brulee one was a dream. The dough was so good and it had so much filling! The staff was also so lovely and sweet. Though this is definitely a place for takeout! The seating is very limited.
