Tanishq Restaurant & Bar in Epping Forest

Went for a drink here and decided to stay for dinner. Excellent food and friendly staff. More expensive than your normal Indian restaurant but the decor is beautiful and it’s in lovely surroundings, the views are amazing. We will be back.

Our family had a delightful experience at Tanishq Restaurant. From arrival, We were greeted by a beautifully lit entrance displayed with flowers which created a welcoming tone. We booked beforehand and were greeted by a waiter. The atmoshphere was very modern, clean and elegant. The waiters were friendly and helpful and ensured we had a luxary experience. The restaurant was spacious and the waiter allowed us to choose the biggest table at the back where we were able to enjoy the Golf Course view. The food was exquisite and delicately presentated. The prawn was tender and chicken curry had a rich taste. We were able to mix everything with the biryani and naan which was delicious. The Tandoori Platter had a smoky flavour and Veggie Platter was very tasty. After we finished our meal, The owner personally approached us to ask about our experience and if we enjoyed the food. We were all impressed with the service and was definitely the best Indian Restaurant we have ever been.

Wow. Didn’t know this place existed until recently, the most beautiful setting and well - the food absolutely outstanding. Once seated at a table with the most beautiful view, you are given an amuse bouche on the house which is delicious !! We didn’t have starters, but the mains were absolutely amazing. I had a chicken madras, Probably one of the best ones I’ve ever had. The others had a Chicken Achari (think that’s what it’s called) and a chicken Jalfrezi, we shared sag paneer, sag aloo, Garlic rice (best ever) and garlic naan bread. after, we were given a complimentary lemon amuse Bouche, it was fabulous. I cannot emphasise enough how fantastic this food was plus , staff were fantastic!! Bravo!! well done!! absolutely brilliant!!we will be coming back a lot!! Thank you for a fantastic evening!

Wonderful restaurant , it is our second time there, the restaurant is set in beautiful countryside. The food presentation and taste is outstanding and there is a large selection of cocktails. We will most definitely visit you again soon!

Our issues with Tanishq started the night before our dinner. At 10:33 pm, I received a call from the restaurant stating that they had accidentally cancelled my Opentable reservation but would still welcome us the next evening. Why in the world did the restaurant feel it was acceptable to call so late? The next day, we walked through a large group of golfers who had definitely had quite a few drinks and entered the restaurant. We stood at the front desk for awhile and were finally greeted. The restaurant is nicely decorated but has strange acoustics. We felt like we had to whisper, yet you could hear the very loud drone of the hand dryer when someone used the loo. We had to ask to order drinks. Before the drinks arrived, we received what looked like small amuse bouche dishes. We asked what they were, and they removed them and said they were for another table and we would receive ours later. They then gave our dishes to another table and never returned with similar dishes we were allegedly supposed to receive. The poppadoms and chutneys were average. The Lahsooni chargrill jhinga was a bit salty with only two small prawns. The crabcakes were plain. Service was always a step behind or a step ahead. We had the first bite of our starters in our mouths and the waiter asked how they were. I didn’t even have a chance to process the flavors before answering with my mouth full. Our drinks remained empty on the table without anyone asking if we wanted a refill. We asked for another round of drinks and they never came, but we were still charged for them on the bill (which they removed upon our request). The signature chicken achari dish was quite tasty as well as the chicken madras. The potatoes were unremarkable. We didn’t even ask about pudding and quickly paid the bill and left. A disappointing evening and we would not return.

Just had an excellent meal, food was amazing, staff attentive and a lovely setting/atmosphere. First time here, would highly recommend and will definitely return.

We visited Tanishqs after around of golf and were impressed with the service, quality of the food and ambience. I think this is probably one of the best Indian Restaurants outside London and certainly on par if not better then Dishoom. I would highly recommended Tanishqs and it was certainly worth the 40 minute drive from where we live. We will be back.

Visited Tanishq last night for dinner. An amazing time. Was looked after like royalty throughout the night. Food and service top drawer - Imran what you're doing there is sooo special! Have to make a special mention to Madhuka - his desserts were a proper dream... soo light, refreshing , and a lovely end to the meal. We were blessed to have him come and chat to us too - a lovely guy. Will keep coming as he shares his pastry delights.

A truly stellar evening provided by Imran and his team last night! Food, drinks and service of the highest order.. all in a stonking venue… took us an hour to get there ..was well worth it… I’m a convert… this will be my local Indian … Imran please thank everyone … Mohammed was a real shining star and couldn’t leave without mentioning your superstar pastry chef.. in a league of his own.. told my friends to come and visit you.. I know they will be well looked after!

10/10 restaurant - absolutely amazing food, drinks, customer service and aesthetics. Came for Mothers’ Day and they gave us multiple complementary starters for everyone and dessert for my mum. Had a great night and will definitely be back here again!

Arrived 15mins earlier than our table was booked for - greeted by a very friendly lady who took our coats and put them in the cloakroom. And promptly showed us to our table. The restaurant is decorated beautifully - very classy. From the moment we were seated my husband and I were looked after impeccably by Hassan and his front of house team. First class service. The poppadoms and chutneys were a great start whilst we looked over the menu. For starters we had the scallops and the prawns- both dishes were fabulous, in presentation and in flavour. Our mains of chicken biryani and lamb again were of a high standard and quality. We were going to order the bread basket as one of our accompaniments but as any good waiter would - Hassan advised us this would be too much as my biryani came with naan anyway. Impressive service. After we had finished the head chef Kishore came out of the kitchen to discuss our food experience and to explain Tanishq’s concept. This was a really lovely touch. As a couple we thoroughly enjoyed our experience/evening here. We can’t wait to come back and bring our family. We will see you soon Tanishq Team. Thank you for a fabulous evening.

This place is unreal. Had my 50th bday with a large group of friends at this place. It’s a hidden gem. The nicest Indian food I have tasted. The restaurant is superbly presented. The service impeccable. The food out of this world and the presentation is amazing. Great bar and cocktails. Do yourself a favour and make the effort and visit this restaurant for a truly memorable experience. You will not be disappointed

Beautiful restaurant, fabulous grounds and most importantly great food. The waiting staff were attentive and efficient and the food was delicious. We’re booked to come back on Christmas Day with our family and can’t wait.

This is the best Indian food we have eaten in a very long time. Absolutely loved this restaurant and the staff are fantastic. It's a hidden gem at Toot Hill Golf Course - the old cub house has been remodelled into a beautiful restaurant with several different seating areas. We will be back because there were so many things on the menu we wanted to eat and everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted divine.

Our first time at Tanishq and we will definitely be returning. Everything about this restaurant was first class. Most importantly the food was excellent, there were five of us and everyone thoroughly enjoyed every part of the meal. One of our party is vegan, and the chef took the trouble to come discuss options for her dessert, the one she chose was delicious. The menu was easy to understand but offered plenty of choice, definitely different from the normal indian restaurants. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the service was spot on. Highly recommended.

already been twice within the past month because its just that good! The interior of the restuarants is beautiful, and the staff are fantastic, but the food still manages to be the high point. Immaculate presentation, we've tried the samosas, the aubergine rollitini, the crab cakes, the mango & avocado salad the duck, the chicken & the malai kofte (twice!) and all have been faultless.. the naans in the breadbasket were crispy and full of flavour, and the black forest martini made for a delicious dessert. Our bill for two came to around £120 including drinks, and we left highly satisfied. A truly elevated Indian dining experience

Wow, blown away for several reasons. The food is incredible for starters, location is lovely but the staff and service are what really made the evening. We couldn’t fault them! Wonderful night due to such kind, helpful and attentive staff. You will not be disappointed!

Lovely setting, lovely furnishing, too expensive though, £90 for two of us, we didn't buy any drinks either.. food flavour is no different to your top high street Indian, it's just presented in a fancy Al la carte way, which makes it hard to share food, which we love doing when we get an Indian. So that's the premium you are paying for. Was I more satisfied leaving the restaurant than going to a local Indian, no, did I feel a bit aggrieved by the price? Yes.. duck was over cooked, its was tough and grey, £22.. chicken korma, was nothing special £18, my local does it better and actually has whole cashew nuts in, tikka was very good, popadoms really good, great chutneys, naans ok, quite thin, so went dry and cold quick. Had a nice meal but probably won't return. Was hoping this place would be like Dishoom, like an authentic rustic, Indian with street food and loud Indian music, instead was listening to a 00's indie rock soundtrack, with James blunt singing you're beautiful, very strange. Get them Punjabi bangers going!

This restaurant opened on last Monday. Excellent food. Chef came and checked my food. Apparently this man has been working in Mayfair Michelin star restaurant for past 23 years. I had Venison Hunter Kabab as starter followed by French trimmed lamb chops with summer veg....
