Herb And Spice (takeaway) in Epping Forest

Curries were very salty. Hadn't used this curry house for years. Thought we would give it a try. Not impressed.

My butter chicken had shards of small bone, and some larger bone and connective tendens in. I had to throw it away sadly. Not impressed. See photos.

It was a decent meal. The chicken tikka starter was dish of the day. Succulent and juicy. Massala was also very good. Chicken jalfrezi was incredibly oily and a few bits of chicken were grissly and inedible. Naan bread was delcious and its very reasonable. Edit had again recently and upgrading to 4 star. Chicken pathia with extra heat was delicious. Still not 5 star as some of the chicken was tough. Murgh masala also very good, lots of flavour. Personal preference would be a bit hotter next time.

Very unfortunate to have had a takeaway meal from this restaurant which we were looking forward to but due to overload of salt which blinded any taste of the chicken curry, chicken tikka we were unable to compete, unsure if this was an accident by chef maybe top came off salt pot but obvious was not taste tested before sent out.will not be using again

Was never a huge fan of Indian until we moved into the area and ordered from here on our first night. Been using them ever since. Sana is an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to deal with and chat to. The food is really good... Both from a taste and value perspective. They are missing a trick by not having tables but the arcade does not have the space. Highly recommended

I'm not a local, but I visit my family in the area, and this takeout is always a must-have, must-eat on my trips. The owner is lovely. The food is aromatic, moreish and comforting. Truly a winner! Come hungry! No pics as the food is too good to wait...

Good flavours, but very oily dishes and lamb very tough to eat. Really good flavours but let down by the quality of meat used especially. For that only 3 stars, probably won't order them again.

Best Indian takeaway by far and excellent value for money. All staff polite and friendly. Luckily for me I only live around the corner so it's an extra bonus. I have heard that people who have moved away from the area still order from them and make the drive down to collect their order, so it just highlights how bloody good the food is.

What you call a proper "old school" indian takeaway........!! The best around compared to all the others. Shame its takeaway only and not a resturant!

Thought I had tried all the Indian resturants and take takeaways locally and always been a bit disappointed. Glad I found these guys, absolutely superb food, delivered on time by a freindly driver.

Ten out of Ten - top notch take-away. Hands down the best curry i've ever had, I have friends who come 60+ miles for a Herb & Spice experience. I like the Biriyani and the curry's are amazing too! If I could afford it, i'd come here for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

As a Bengali, we normally cook at home.. but having used herb and spice, it is almost like having home made meals. Its unbelivable. It has to be the best indian takeaway in Epping. Considering i have alot of friends from North Weald who use it too. I will say its a must try and wont be disapointed. As they have a delivery and collection system, i have had my food delivered to me. I can insure, the food was piping hot, and it was delivered on time. The delivery driver was very professional and polite. He even came in side and helped us organise the food as we had about 30 people eating in. Highly recommend herb and spice without a doubt. People have been missing out on the real indian dishes.

Simply divine curry and friendly staff. Do agree with Graham Holmes if only they had a sit-in. Shall be returning as soon as possible.

The best take-a-way bar none, shame they don't do a sit down, been using them for 20+ years and they still remember my order, all I do is say " hi its Graham", and the rest is done.
