This is no longer open . Closed in covid. Did not re open. Shame was a good value place. Good selection of food. Eat as much as you want.

Although the website looked amazing this was just one of your average chinese buffets. Some of the chicken was burnt and dried out as was the barbecued meat, some dishes were nice but some were cold. Bit disappointing.

First time visiting during a short stay in Southend. The food was mainly (if not all) deep fat fried and quick produce, salty and not much choice to choose from. The only good thing about this place was the decor on entry and the large seating area it has to offer. The prices for lunch was competitive which is why we visited but overall, results show for the price you pay. I most likely wouldn’t visit again.

The very first time I went to Tangs I ate so much I honestly thought I was going into cardiac arrest! On that occasion we went at night when the full complement of food was available at slightly higher cost than the lunchtime menu. We were in formal eating out mode and behaved accordingly. What I've since realised is that Tangs isn't supposed to be a formal dining experience, and it's not fair that TripAdvisor reviewers are judging it as such. You pay £7.99 at lunchtime, plus extra for reasonably priced bar drinks, and you get a fantastic Chinese meal in a pleasant modern environment. Tangs is actually the cheapest of the dining outlets in the immediate vicinity of Southend's Victoria Shopping Centre (Wimpy, Molo Lounge, German Doner). For £7.99 you get starters, mains, deserts and as many return trips to the buffet as you like. The central buffet is Chinese food. At the weekend there is also Indian, pizzas, chips, and English food. There are also sushi and salad options available, and more. For all the choice on offer, the staple Chinese dish of chicken curry is actually one of my favourites at Tangs. I'm quite surprised to read the negative comments on TripAdvisor about service. We are always greeted by the same friendly staff who recognise us and always ask how we are, and comment if I go alone without my wife or if we haven't been for a while. We always ask for our preferred tables and get them, regardless of how busy Tangs is. I've learnt my lesson about over-indulging at Tangs, but going to Tangs is always one of my favourite treats.

when we visit southend we always choose Tangs buffet for lunch - the restaurant is large , bright and clean -- there is so much choice , from soups , main courses and desserts . the food is excellent quality , with a variety of courses , no matter how many times you make a selection , once finished , the waitresses clear the plates and all at a very reasonable price.

Very rude assistant manager. Accused of smuggling people in who had not paid. Interupted during eating with my family, being told to pay for more people, very rudely, while being accussed of smuggling people in. Transpired the assistant manager had miss counted adults, children, under threes etc. No till receipts issued to me even though, i asked, as these are needed to get to your table. Assistant manager said not needed, and sat us all down at three tables, as there were 19 of us. Felt intimidated while eating as three to four members of staff were standing watching us. Spoke with the manager, with regards to the accusation, he wasnt intrested, said i should of had receipts, to get in..... Explained what had happened, but was not intrested in my, or other members of my families, opinion. Will not be eating there again and will not recommend. Stay clear and eat elsewhere.

I booked a table a few weeks before our visit (despite reading on here one or two reviews about cold food). I decided to book for 6pm on a Saturday, as the restaurant opens at 5.30pm my reasoning being the food temperature should not be an issue at this time. We entered from the High Street and the decor was impressive, sleek and elegant and made our way up the stairs to the dining bit. This was equally impressive and they already had my name on the reservation list (didn't even have to show them the screen shot of my booking reservation). We paid for the evening buffet on arrival, which I thought was efficient and were promptly shown to our table and informed that we could get our own drinks from the in-house bar. Again, this was a lot more efficient than waiting to be served as is the protocol at many of these sorts of places. We were also shown where the food was laid out, good selection and nothing I had was cold that shouldn't have been. A few different mushroom dishes, great for me as I do like mushrooms and all the things you would expect; pancakes, different types of rice, chow mein etc. Nice surprise to see mozzarella pizza on offer, garlic bread, Yorkshire pudding, sushi looked nice but didn't try any. Did have some salad which was also nice. Only things that were bit disappointing were no chicken balls in batter (like you get at a takeaway) that I could see and ribs were smaller than the ones I usually get from takeaway (although to be fair you could obviously just help yourself to more). Overall food choice and quality 4/5. I am a huge dessert fan and knowing they did dessert at Tang's did influence my choice when looking for places to eat. The choice of desserts here were outstanding 5/5 all sorts of lovely cakes/ice cream combinations and the fact that they were included in the buffet was great! Used toilets twice during my visit, decent condition/cleanliness 4/5. Staff seemed professional and kitchen staff looked like they were working very hard! Only slightly annoying thing was when they kept trying to take my plate when I finished but was about to go up again for more. It's only me that's eaten from it so happy to re-use it. £14.95 pp seemed a lot at first but considering the amount I ate (especially dessert), decent furnishings and the fact they have their overheads to pay it wasn't bad at all. Also liked the fact we could keep hold of our own coats, unlike some places. Overall, I would say it was well worth a visit, will definitely come back!

I enjoyed my visit. The restaurant had a lot of people eating at lunchtime, including quite a number of children. I think children should pay the same as adults as they can often eat as much. I was impressed by the clean and attractive look of the restaurant and the efficient staff. I would recommend Tang's, there is a lot of choice including salad and cake and fruit, which is much more than usual.

we arrived Sunday afternoon, about 2.30 pm, I was immediately struck by the cleanliness and order in the restaurant. We were rapidly shown to our table, seated and almost immediately, asked what we would like to drink... the food is self service and o boy, what a choice, really really impressive, the food was hot, cooked to perfection, and plenty of it. Go see for yourself you will not regret the visit..

Food was cold,overcooked and tough (couldn't even cut meat with a knife). Much of the meal was completely inedible. Tepanyaki was cooked meat and clearly leftovers from previous day (not my understanding of Tepanyaki). Sad it was so awful. Desserts very good but by that time we'd given up will to enjoy it. Sorry but we're never going back.

I have considered how to approach this incident and waited to take formal routes first . This has been reported to local environmental health and area manager level complaint raised . This restaurant has been passed on to the food standards agency too. Environmental health advised they were going to do a food standards inspection hence the delay in my public post . My children loved this restaurant but it has really gone down hill. The hygiene, the cleanliness and the food are now substandard. I reported I had raw chicken on my plate and I was told oh the smaller bits are cooked and that they would just cook me some more . I declined and said I would not eat any more food prepared if the food already in service was raw. The waitress was dismissive and petulant . I then waited for my daughters to finish their icecream and no manager approached me to apologise or seek to resolve the matter . As I went to leave they were still serving the raw dish . I went to find a manager who I showed the picture of the raw pieces I had returned to the waitress . The manager was more helpful and did ask me what dish it was but I was alarmed that the waitress did not tell him about the complaint . Resulting in the raw dish being kept on service 15 mins after my original complaint. I explained to the manager that the chicken was cold , and raw inside and he said it had been cooked twice. It was clear from its texture, temperature and appearance that the chicken was clearly very undercooked. I explained to him that my daughter and I had eaten the chicken and were alarmed at their petulant attitude to food standards and safety. I was offered one free meal voucher, which he reluctantly changed to two which was an appalling sloping shoulders apology. We left, I then returned the children home and returned to the restaurant and wanted to speak to the manager again . I asked for a full refund, the manager stated he would offer a full refund but asked me to delete the picture whilst I was there. I refused and said I expected a full refund and would be taking this further and will be keeping my picture. My children and I went to this restaurant in good faith and did not expect this from a restaurant which in the past has been of a higher standard. We were given a food related illness info sheet and told to take samples to the GP. I explained I have a weakened immune system and worry how serious this could be . My GP tested me for Salmonella poisoning following 2 weeks of acute sickness and diarrhoea. I feel very let down by Tangs and strongly advise any one to carefully consider eating here.

My father booked Tangs for our family Christmas meal as there were 22 of us so a buffet is easiest way to serve up something to everyone taste. We had all ages with us from babies up to 60 year olds. Everyone enjoyed the food. Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and English dishes. The dessert bar was Brilliant. So many different little cakes. Ice cream and sweets and fruit too. Loved the different dim sum that were available. Excellent value for money. Staff were nice and cleared tables quickly. Would definitely go again.

Went for Sunday lunch with a friend, place was very busy. Plenty of choice. Staff were constantly clearing away used plates and making sure the tables were clean. There was a chocolate fountain.

I've been here many times when I lived local but now only come on odd visit wen I come back to visit family but it's changed and not for the better which is sad to see. Was me mothers family birthday meal. 1st the child height thing I get it but to ask a child in a wheelchair to stand up to measure was a joke! I stated shes a child and 8 years old yes shes tall for her age but she was still under the height restriction because her cousin is taller and was under it but didnt stop them wanting to stand up against it which I refused even women behind said shes in a wheelchair! They allowed to pay child rate in the end but felt they would hav tried it on if wasnt for others about to witness this women rudeness. Then selection of food has lowered and some were rather bland. Some better desserts than on previous visits but doubt I b returning again after this visit. Will b in future going else where for our large family events.

Visited for the 1st time this month and won’t be visiting again. They do there meal prices on height which meant that my tall 10 year old daughter was charged an adult price, this really should be done on age. She ate less than other kids the same age as her in the party but had to pay double the price. The staff were unhelpful and a bit rude, food was ok but definitely not the best.

The restaurant was clean and hygienic, the staff were attentive and friendly, and there was a good selection of food. The price was good and you pay when you go in, which means you can leave when you're ready, so it's handy if you're going to the nearby cinema. The food itself was average though, feeling mass-produced, and some of it was overdone. What really spoilt it for me was the large number of uncontrolled children running riot and making a racket. It's not a place for a romantic dinner! Part of the problem is that the restaurant is truly cavernous, W-shaped and with poor acoustics. I went on a Friday night. I may go back during the daytime when the kids are at school, which might increase it to a 4, but I can't see me ever giving it a 5.

Took my daughter for lunch, food was freshly cooked, tasty and lots of varieties to choose from. Waitresses were constantly clearing away finished plates and asked several times if we wanted anything and were we enjoying the food. It was very busy but there was plenty of room to get between tables. There is a small lift at the back which customers can use if they don't want to/can't use the stairs. Background music was not overly loud so conversation was easily held.

A pay on entry Asian buffet restaurant with a great selection of Eastern dishes. The staff are genuinely friendly, ready to help with the description of the meals. There is a selection to suit all tastes, it is always well and properly cooked, The serving trays are heated, and kept well stocked, but I don't know how the chefs keep up!

we visited tangs buffet during lunch time ,you pay on entry and once inside the buffet we were surprised how smart the modern decor was plus there was a long isle of many different choices of hot , mainly chinese food .

Tangs was a bit of a different restaurant experience than I am used to where you pay as you go in and have to visit the bar yourself for drinks as you go however needing a quick and easy meal ahead of doing something else in town I gave it a go.

Have visited tangs many times .always good food and good value.good is always fresh.plenty to choose from.weather lunch times or evenings

The food isn’t great and the seating is very close together. Don’t go here if your out for a celebration or a great night out. It’s reasonably priced but I would say it’s better for a late night feast if your really hungry as it’s very quick.

We visit tangs in Southend-on-Sea, Victoria/odeon end of town,, ages 9 & 11, they like the choices etc,, oriental food, bar, deserts,, fruit etc ,, buffet style,, staff are excellent and friendly,, clean and tidy

Very bad service order Drinks from the Bar was not a problem then take Drinks back to Table then decided to have a glass of water do want back to the Bar queues up then told she got to see to the other customers first can I stand aside to see done them first .

It what I can your usual standard for buffet. Strange way of handling things. Was told pay upfront before sitting down and go order your drinks yourself at the bar. All food was luke warm and things that were suppose to be crispy were not. Taste was not to our standard but for 8 quid to eat Chinese food as much as you want. Your choice.

We have returned here after our last visit 18 months ago looking forward to a nice meal. We could not have been more dissatisfied,the food that was there was either soggy or dried up. By half past nine on a Friday night I think we are more or less the only ones left in here apart from the staff. I think the only nice thing was the ice cream. I can honestly say that I don't think we will be returning.

There are two ways in to this restaurant; one from the street and one from inside the shopping centre that we used. We found a table and went to the bar to buy drinks. My husband asked if we paid for the food there too and was told that food was paid for separately so we put the drinks on our table and went to view the buffet. Returning with a plate of food, we were approached by a waitress who said "You have to pay first, then eat!" My husband went to the other entrance to pay. The food itself was partly inedible, I couldn't cut the chicken satay and have wondered if it was left over from last night! The sauces were the consistency of water and the food was lukewarm. The main courses were slightly better than the starter dishes but not by much. We were ignored by one white waitress twice when we had a question but the young black waitress was lovely. That's not being racist but for identification purposes only. Although the place was clean and moderately decorated, there needs to be a sign at the other entrance telling new clients what to do. This was at 12:30 lunchtime on a Wednesday, not sure if this is significant or not for other reviews. We will not be returning.

On a day trip to Southend we were getting peckish and looking for somewhere to eat. When we saw this and went in it was amazing. So much choice of good hot oriental dishes and all you can eat for the price. Drinks were very reasonable and the waitress ladies were first class . My favorite's were the noodles and honey and lemon chicken. The lychees were to die for. We will be back.

Hot food was luke warm - not helped by fresh food being put out and the covers being left off. Plates for hot food were cold and the plates for the cold desserts were warm

Came here on a saturday evening to try tangs buffet.The inside is actually really nice,reminds me of a all inclusive restaurant you get on holidays abroad.I thought the dishes i had was ok but not sure about the chicken dishes.The chicken curry was nice but the lemon chicken was stringy and my wifes dish she said her chicken was very dry. The service was ok but they take your plates and glasses away before you have even finished with them.One girl took my mother in laws apple juice away even tho it was a 3rd full and spilt it all on the floor.Desserts was nice tho

We have been to Tangs several times,always a good selection,and well cooked and tasty.food.However each time we visit we have to complain that the toilet are not clean which is a great pity.

I’ve been here quite a few times and taken friends there for the first time. Love the variety of food available and staff very helpful BUT at the moment I’m temporarily in a wheelchair due to an accident. I had the unfortunate need to use the disabled toilets and when I pulled down the Ajax arm to help me stand the whole thing started to come away from the wall (including the tiles) and I nearly toppled over. It wouldn’t have been so bad but I had reported it 2 weeks previously as being loose and unstable and it was an accident waiting to happen. I stupidly didn’t check that it had been fixed but for someone totally dependent on using this arm there could have been terrible repercussions. So not impressed

I had passed by Tang's a few times but had never gone in. Maya's has gone and East is changing hands so more places seemed to be shut than open in Southend! It is a pleasant place to eat and more like the buffets on cruise ships. You pay as you go in and pay for drinks separately at the bar. There is an extensive range of food in a spacious restaurant from a variety of cuisines but mainly Asian of course, but also chips, pizza, BBQ'd meats and salads etc., as well as, a good range of desserts.

A 'great 'eat all you can', now that Maya has gone (redeveloped into flats) - it is the best in Southend, in my opinion - a very large spread of food - normally very fresh at a very good price. Wine, starting at £13.95/75cl is amongst the best value in town

These places are an acquired taste as they tend to be barns and I should have known better really. They’re not bad for the family though as there is a lot of choice, so we visited recently. The foyer and restaurant itself is really quite nice and I thought it might have a nice ambience initially. However the staff were so miserable! Not a smile upon arrival and quicker than a greyhound out of a trap to snatch your credit card for payment. Vaguely waved into restaurant. Wasn’t keen on our view out onto shopping centre and pooing pigeons, but I guess we were there to eat primarily. Lots of choice for all in the family, including small children. Disappointed that duck pancakes (in the STARTERS area) were all ready except for the pancakes themselves. Took half an hour for staff to bring them out (we arrived at the opening time of 5:30- pancakes came out around 6pm). When I politely enquired if there were any available, the waiter was very snappy which was a bit of a shock. Just felt like we had paid the money and were there to shovel in food. I’d mistakenly thought we might have a pleasant dining experience. This is simply for a quick and greedy feed in my view! We ate plenty (noodles were the best) and it served a purpose. Would we come back? No. Sorry.

On way back from London thought we would pop in and give it a go. Money taken off you as you go in before you’ve even seen what’s on offer, loud open plan restaurant. Lots of posh looking serving trays full of food. Burnt dry food, tough chewy chicken. Watery souplike satay sauce. Chicken wings burnt to a crisp dry no meat awful. Duck and pork dish was not refreshed for the whole time we stayed dry and looking in edible. Noodles were okay. One or two beef or chicken in sauce dishes were okay. Majority of food had been hanging around too long and wasn’t enticing. Drinks expensive. To cap it all we both had rather unstable tummy’s the next morning. In summary give it a miss unless you’re desperate. We won’t be going back

Staff friendly & quick to clear tables. For topped up regular, 80% of food was edible but for £14.99 each then £7. For drinks we found it slightly pricey. Tables a bit small our coats were dragging on the floor so not amused.

Arrived for lunch at 12:30pm was taken to out table, when we went to get food there was only 1 spring roll 3 spare ribs very little pork for pancakes, we took a little to start and decided to make a second trip hoping more food would be out, after eating the little we had there was no extra food out so decided to go to main section but yet again not a lot of food out half empty pots with cold and dried up meat, deserts were limited and cake dry, and let’s just say both very ill that night and next day and this was the only meal eaten that day. I’ll never go there again

We all enjoyed the good selection of food and came away full but with headaches. It was so noisy being Saturday... a day I would avoid again. All food clearly marked so you know what your eating. There was sushi dimsum and fresh fruit along with all the favourites. Pork was tough shame as flavour lovely. I would go again but not at the weekends.

Not the politest of staff but a spotlessly clean buffet restaurant. Been a few times now and have enjoyed a different combination of starter, main and dessert each time. The kitchen staff seem genuinely pleased with satisfied customer reactions. Will be back there soon.

Not sure why some complain, you pay little money for a big lunch, pay as you enter which is far better than waiting to get the bill at the end, fill your boots, some very good dishes, some dishes suited to the pile it high brigade,and some average offerings to which we pass on, limited desserts but plenty enough for a lunch, always good service from payment , to the bar and with plates getting taken away, fresh fruits and salads, its £7 !!!! what more do you want, at Tangs you get exactly what you pay for, you want high class then better to go elsewhere and pay £30

Arrived as it was opening and a long queue as you pay before you eat, good idea, but maybe 2 working tills are needed at the front to speed up the queue.

One of our friends invited us to share his Birthday celebrations with a Lunch at tangs. Situated on the first floor it cost £7.99 for a buffet meal. It opens at 12.00 noon, so we met at 1.00 pm and was treated to a lunch spread over 21/2 hours when it closed. They have a quality bar where they sell all types of alcoholic drinks, including coffee / tea etc.

Have been to tangs on a couple of occasions and found the food to be ok,upon my last visit with my son within 2 hours of eating I started to feel unwell, I then started vomiting and being sick for the next 6 hours,I also suffered hot sweats and cold shivers and was laid up for a few days,I will never return or recommend this restaurant to anybody..

I recently visited Tang's again for the 2nd time. I was pleased again, by the amount of choice, even at lunchtime, the promptness of staff service, and value for money. Tang's is a nice place to have lunch if in the area. It's reasonably priced at £7.99 for all you can eat buffet (lunchtime price), and generally in line with prices of similar restaurants. I went for a few dishes I tried previously, and enjoyed which were Singapore Noodles, Korean Pork & crispy shredded pork & pancakes etc. They were nice & tasty, and of good quality. I would definitely recommend the place, and will visit again very soon.

We went there with a small party, early in the evening. We were quickly seated after paying for the dinner first.

Love this place. Everywhere is very clean and if a good standard. All the staff are friendly, helpful, respectful and polite. Good variety of food and drink choises. Well presented and very tasty food. All well priced. Defiantly have and would recommend Tangs. Well done to all and Thank you. Best Wishes ☺

Visited on a Sunday lunchtime, we have been here once before, but a while ago, you pay as you go in and are shown to a table, you go to the bar to purchase your drinks, plenty of tables and space, and I saw the staff cleaning tables and buffet area frequently, we really enjoyed the buffet, very plentiful and lots of choice, all staff were very friendly and helpful, food was very delicious, great variety of desserts, and all equally delicious, great value for money, will definetly return and recommend

We love this place,such a great chose of dishes.This visit I was disappointed, I found the food warm,when normally their food is hot! Generally speaking we will say this restaurant is first class.

On a Thursday evening just after the New Year it wasn't particularly busy. The price has increased since we last visited, so it's not a cheap night out for a family, but the kids like it because they can help themselves. Food is always varied, tasty and good quality, and of course you can keep going back for more until you're full, usually 2-3 platefulls, plus dessert. No doubt we'll be going back later in the year.

Have eaten here many times and usually enjoy the food very much. However this time was not as impressed. Alot of the chowmein was very greasy, tried 3 different ones. There was also a very large bone found in the shredded duck by one of the adults which was fine, taken out and placed aside, however we had young children with us who also had the duck which it may not of been the same circumstance for. Have had many good meals here so not put off by this experience but hoping standards don't slip anymore.

A wide selection of Chinese and English dishes (chips & hash browns) not quite what I was expecting but people seemed to be tucking in and it was busy for a Wednesday lunch time and what seemed to be a otherwise quite high street. You pay for your food on arrival and then are shown to your table. Drinks are extra which you order from the bar. Some of the meat dishes were tough and overly salty whilst others were quite acceptable. You can go up for 2nd's which we didn't but others were. Not the greatest buffet and overall not sure we will be going back but others did seem to be enjoying it.

We visited Sunday 2nd of December for a double birthday and unfortunately we were not happy with the food or service provided. I have since made this complaint via the website and email with no acknowledgement or contact in return which I am incredibly disappointed with. Below are the points I raised in my complaint.

Went here 30/12 for the first time and wasn’t too sure what to expect. A great choice of food from Indian, Chinese, Sushi, Pizza and chips etc.

12 of us visited Sunday evening and although we new they close at 10pm as we were eating at 8.30 the food should have been reasonably fresh. This was not the case as food looked and tasted like It had been sitting under the heat lamps for hours. Chicken so tough and chewy. Sauces were so salty. Rice was dry and hard. Nan bread was like crackers. As for the turkey it looked so dry and was stuck to the tray as was the pizza with turned up edges. The only reasonable food was the deserts..never going again as others have told me they had the same bad experience. If they are open for business then the food should be good quality, no excuses.

Wide selection of well cooked ,hot and tasty dishes.Staff attentive and friendly. Restaurant was busy which is good because it means food is being continually renewed so that it is all fresh.Very good value will return there next time we are in southend.

Children are charged by how tall they are not by how old they are. My 11 year old son was charged adult price today because he is tall. Yes he is tall. Yes he is a child. Terrible pricing system.

Wow, what can I say, very busy excellent choice of starters, mains and sweets, from chips and Yorkshire puddings to various curries from different countries and the pudding very awesome, just go and enjoy he food. By the way best book as it gets really busy

BASED ON COUSTOMER SERVICE ALONE WILL AVOID LIKE THE PLAUGE. Visited on a Saturday, with a booking for 8.30 was greeted by a friendly hostess who told us we had to pay before we ate or could even see the food which is strange. Ordered to sit at a dirty table asked to move in which we did but no help from staff.Went to the bar ordered drinks(minimum spend is £5 to pay via card) sat, chatted and had our drinks ready to get food.

Horrible place. Went Saturday lunchtime and place was full of brats running around whilst chav parents looked on and absolved themselves of any responsibility in looking after their offspring. Limmited choice of food and dishes luke warm at best. Lovely surroundings but food let it down. Im told that there is more choice in the evening but dont want a repeat experience

We went for lunch here today at 2.30...it closes at 3.30 there was still a lot of choises and the food was nice and hot..however we where told bacause thay closed in an hour none of the food would be refild when it was gone not a problem but at 3pm the staff started helping themselfs to the food that was left finishing off some of the dishes .i think the staff should not be allowd to do this untill all the paying customers had finished eating first..at 3.15 the lights where turned off and we where made to feel we had to leve...

We have been going to Tangs since they opened and have only had good experiences there. The food is always hot and fresh. As it’s a buffet all you can eat, with a set price for lunchtimes and for evenings, you can guarantee to leave there full! Great choice for vegetarians like me so I don’t feel I am missing out. Choice of 2 soups including a non meat soup and lovely deserts. We really enjoy going there.

Went to Tangs today for an impromptu lunch. The lunch menu is £7.99 pp which is very good. I have to say that the food on offer was of a very poor quality. The chicken was rubbery, sawdust looking pork for the pancakes instead of shredded duck, very watery satay sauce etc etc.

Away on business I cannot put in receipts with just alcohol on them. Went up the stairs and Was asked to pay for the meal straight away and I would have to buy drinks separately. I asked if they could add two drinks on my bill and they refused and just would not listen.

Compared with the fast food restaurants nearby, Tang is a great place to go. Every staff works hard to provide best service to customers. The lunch buffet price is only 7.99 pounds from Monday to Friday, which in other places you can only eat with fast food like McD or Burger King However, you can eat variety of foods here including salmon, sushi, prawn salads, many kinds of asian foods and many fried foods, besides deserts, fruits, and ice-creams. I have seen some people complained that the food is not good enough here, but ask you conscience that what do you expect with a price of 7.99? !

Visited for the lunch time buffet. Food was good with an extensive selection. Only negative would be that the food could be warmer but I appreciate that is not always possible if the restaurant is not as busy as an evening service.

Had a evening out with the wife for the first time in a while decided to go here big mistake. Went at 6 pm just after they open for the second sitting had the chicken balls tasted weird and looked over cooked as if they had been reheated. The prawn toast was the same over cooked pot me off eating anything with chicken in it. The rest of the food was just about ok can be hit and miss here definitely a miss this time wouldn’t be going back anytime soon.

I don't like Chinese buffet, but went with family and friends, great value for money. Wide range of food for everyone. Really good service. Very clean and stuff on the ball.

I went here with my family to celebrate my A Level results. A lot of the food on the buffet were running very low and they were slow to replace them. The food served isn't great quality and I don't think its worth the money as there are other nice Asian-style restaurants around that are better value for money. I will not be returning

When this buffet restaurant opened a few years ago it was absolutely brilliant! Even in the Chinese world of people in and around Southend, they were saying it was very good. I've been 3 times now, the last two times I have seen a drop in quality, both in the food and the customers.

I've been here 2 times now once for dinner and once for lunch, I can honestly say this place is amazing!!! Excellent value for money, the food is steaming hot and full of flavour.

I've been to Tang's several times before but usually at lunch time when they have less variety. I recently came to Tang's for dinner and was excited to find one of my favourite Chinese Takeaway items finally available- chicken balls!

Far from the best, but far from the worst Chinese food in the area. Good selection of dishes on the buffet for meat eaters and vegetarians alike.

Friday early evening, but the highest price at £14.99, theres a massive choice really something for everyone, but we just pick out the 'best' items and stick to them, Sushi , dim sum, live cooking, seafood dishes, Korean Pork and braised Beef in Oyster sauce,rice, noodles, ribs and the desserts, fruits, don't care for the Chocolate fountain as its not very good quality, theres several Indian choices too even pizza, empty plates go from the table fast, pay up front which works well for us, no hanging around to pay the bill.

Standard Chinese buffet serving all the usual Cantonese style dishes. Nice selection of vegetarian hot dishes. Quite a few Chinese customers were eating here too. My only gripe was that they take away the empty plates too quickly.

Came across this place by accident As it was upstairs could not see a menu or what it was like inside so took a gamble. Glad we did. Place was spotless, staff where friendly, selection of food amazing. No rush eat until you are full. Biggest problem you have is deciding what to eat. Poster on the door states from £7.99. Don't know what that option was as we where never offered it.

Treated my cousin to lunch at Tang's on the last day of her holiday,this was my second visit, she loved it.

Being a vegetarian, I was very pleased with the vegetarian duck. Very flavoursome and juicy. Would be nice to have had a vegetarian curry though. Rice was a bit dry

One of my favorite lunch time restaurants. Very nice staff, affordable prices, and very friendly staff. Food also arrives fresh within couple minutes. Would recommend!

I looked up this restaurant and compared it to similar restaurants in the town. This was the best option and there is surprisingly more choice of food.

Very beautiful place but the food isn’t always fresh, the rice is too dry and the sauces had a weird taste.

This is one of the best Chinese restaurant in this area at very reasonable price. This was my second visit and no complaints at all.

For the price this is good, but it’s a buffet, a big buffet. The staff are friendly but sometimes the issue can be the way other diners behave, ie badly. One disappointment was the kitchen staff - who you can see on show - were wearing random t-shirts, I think they should be dressed in kitchen whites or uniform. Looks shabby.
