Tandoori Nights, Hoddesdon in Broxbourne

We have always used Tandoori Nights when we order an Indian Takeaway and have always been happy with the food. However, we have not had food from there for a while as we are cutting back on takeaways. It was my husbands birthday on Saturday so we thought we would treat ourselves. We were so disappointed with the quality of the food. Maybe they have a new cook? It seemed as if the meat ( not the good quality we remember) had been pre-cooked and then put in whatever sauce it was meant to have. The chicken Tikka was dry and quite tasteless. Even the Peshwari Naan seemed to be missing the raisins and very little coconut. Unfortunately we will think twice about ordering from them again. So sad.

We have never had a bad meal from Tandoori nights, been using them for years and can’t fault them, would definitely recommend them.

We had the nicest food from this Indian, honestly it was so so good!!! We ordered - salmon shashlik - saag aloo - mushroom bhaji - chicken madras - vegetable rice The salmon was unreal, the flavours were amazing, I was so impressed!!! I never tried saag aloo and mushroom bhaji until today and I’m so glad I did, the potatoes are so soft and literally everything was full of flavour!! Delivery didn’t take too long, food was hot, freshly made, tasted amazing, decent sized portions!!! This was a 10/10 takeaway, we never usually get Indian takeaways but we’ll be ordering from here more often!!! I’m so happy and absolutely stuffed!!!

OK , the best 'Indian' in the UK is the Omar Khayyam at Haymarket , West End of Edinburgh although 380 miles is a long way for a curry ! In all seriousness Tandoori Nights is a fantastic place to get a very tasty curry and with very friendly staff to boot . Been going here for almost 20 years now and despite trying all the others ( sometimes to save £2 ) always return to TN . If you want a decent portion of very tasty curry at a reasonable price then look no further , very highly recommended .

Never again! Dog sh*t. Thought I’d try once but try Iceland for a better curry. Stater was a burnt mess! Main not much better

DO NOT ORDER we placed our order at 6:30pm for delivery. By 7:30lm order had not arrived so we rang and the lady said we are very busy but your order will be with you shortly. Waited again another hour tried ringing and no answer tried 156 times no one answered the phone now coming up to 9pm decided to drive up their. When arriving there was lots of unhappy customers who placed orders at 5pm and still waiting at 9:15pm when we asked where our order was the response was it’s nearly ready. They were extremely rude and offered no apology. We decided to get our money back. Reasons being poor service poor attitude. Avoid this place their rude and unreliable

I have ordered and had food delivered from this takeaway restaurant for about 16 years. We always had papadums and salad thrown in when spending between £35 and £45, this has now stopped according two our last two deliveries and I understand why as everyone is struggling during these difficult Covid times. We were asked to hold when calling today and that the delivery time would be 1 hour and a half as they were so busy ! It arrived pretty much on time. The delivery was always free as depicted on their menu that was delivered last week when we ordered. I’m very disappointed to see that they are now charging £2 to deliver our food 5 mins down the road. We are all struggling during these times and it would appear that you are busier than ever, sticking together as a community is more important now and it’s a shame that you seem to be trying to profiting from it.

Greasy/Oil/Terrible, Ordered a few weeks ago, was not the best I have every had. So thought I would try again... Really Oily food, full to the top, so much so it had seeped through the bag. The food turned up very late and cold, I said the the lady driver it was not her fault, as I phoned up the restaurant and they said "oh nearly ready" but from the shouting I could tell it was not....hence 50mins later it turned up (I had placed the order 30min prior) terrible customer service from the restaurant when I called them. Will not be ordering from them again. (Ordered 24th October) . Note to owner: At least put "Greasy Chicken Tikka" on the menu so we know what to expect. I guarantee if i rubbed the grease from the onion bargi's on a brick wall there would be so much grease I would see through the wall...

Delivery was 30 mins late, meat was overcooked, dry,cold, oily, bulked out with raw onions. Cost £40 + of which £20 went in the bin, easily the worst Indian meal i had in 50 odd years. If i was eating in i would have sent it back and not paid. Never again !!

Our meal arrived covered in grease/oil from the containers. The onion Bhaji arrived greasy and cold and had no salad or sauce and the keema nan was soggy and wet. The curry dishes were swimming in oil and needed more seasoning. I rang before we started to eat (5min after it arrived) and l was told that they would speak to the driver and they would do something next time l ordered. I told them this was the second time l had an issue with my order and l would not give them another chance. A waste of £42!!

Waiting over 1 hour and 40 mins for food to be delivered is a bit much .. even for a Saturday night Food was tasty but a bit on cold side Lady that answers the phone was what pushed this review up to 3 .. Next time I'm going for collection

How on earth people rate this food above one star is beyond me I would have given it no stars. The main meal curry was inedible and he threw both in the bin yet they were two different dishes the chicken was dry and like rubber ut itcseems they try and hide this by making the curry as hot as a vindaloo and hope you wont notice. Unfortunately there is not one decent Indian left in Hoddesdon for takeaways.Stop using them and standards will need to go up. Didn't notice but the only have a hygiene rating of two so maybe it's no surprise the food is disgustingly poor.

Just had a meal from Tandoori Nights and it was very disappointing. The mixed grill was dry and the lamb tough as boots , the dansak was more like a madras with no sweetness and the poppadums went straight in the bin as the oil they were cooked in obviously needs changing. The delivery was almost an hour later than scheduled. £45 order and not worth it !

Ordered four dishes. Lamb Tikka....Lamb? more like mutton, tough as old boots. Tandoori Chicken.... says Half, but I got two scrawny dried up, burnt offerings.Worst food I've been offered in ages. Disgusting. Vegetable Curry with vile brussel sprouts!!! Used to be good.....what's happened?

We’ve always been impressed by Tandoori Nights in the past but this meal was poor. We ordered online and while all the dishes were correct and on-time, except the king prawns were absent from our king prawn biryani. We telephoned and they apologised, promising to send a replacement, which never arrived. Appalling service. If we spend over £40 on a few dishes we expect good quality. Moreover, if we take time to bring it to their attention and they just pay lip service, perhaps it’s time to take our business elsewhere.

Just ordered chicken tika marsala lemon rice garlic nan took a hour to come on a Wednesday night the food was not the best so don't think I be back to fast

Lovely food but recently, the side dishes have been poor, I have ordered from elsewhere because of it.

I have just treated my friends to a take away which was not very nice at all. I was very embarrassed.......We had chicken tikka which was really dry and the onions and peppers with it were undercooked. We ordered madras vegetable curry and they delivered vindaloo. There was no sauce with the mixed kebab. The prawn puri was OK and the naan was actually nice. This was the first time we have tried this restaurant and will never go there again.

Had a takeaway from here on Saturday and it was superb. Food was collected and upon eating was still piping hot. The food was delicious and vibrant, could not recommend more!

Delivery menu says we aim to deliver in the hour. Ordered takeaway for delivery, told would be hour and fifteen minutes. Rang them after an hour and thirty minutes to check when delivery would be. Told it had left but were unable to say how much longer it would be. Turned up an hour and forty five minutes after initial order. Nan bread was under cooked. Lamb shashlik was over cooked, tough and no flavour. There was no fresh salad or mint sauce with delivery as mentioned on their menu. Will I order again, I think not. There are plenty more restaurants in the area .

This takeaway often gets priority over going to a restaurant. We have ordered takeaways and visited a number of times. It's constantly very very good. The lady who takes the orders is friendly and always helpful. We've enjoyed Chicken Tikka, Paneer, Garlic Balti and Madras, all excellent. Portions are great and often we can't finish meal. The food is fresh, hot and tasty and often the chef will adapt dishes if it's not too busy!

This is a takeaway only, but let me say that the food is of a quality and standard higher than most Bangladeshi restaurants!

Not a good start I have to say, they took our order and when we chased, an hour later, they said they had misplaced it and it would be an even longer wait.

Above average takeaway quality with good sized portions. They provide a reliable home delivery service too if you prefer and it is easy to order online through their site so very practical. No problems so far. Good value.

Its ok but don't absolutely love the food. Its quite Europeanized Indian food and not really authentic as I was expecting. But have good options and can provide if you request.

Sin duda vale la pena probar, siempre sincero en tiempos de entrega. Mi única preocupación sería la nueva comida sushi se van desde aquí pueden provocar retrasos.

Aunque la comida era generosas porciones, en un recipiente de plástico, por tanto no era cálido, pan naan apenas cálido.

Used twice a week in our chunky days so was well known. Ordered a takeaway ln Friday and was not disappointed. Prompt service, food still hot, delicious fresh flavours and no after tastes the following morning. All allocades well deserved no wonder Tandoori Nights has been around for so long.

Visited restaurant with family and ordered the chicken Tika Masada. Not only was it below average for taste, but the dish was cold, They kindly reheated and returned with half the rice. I travel n a lot, know Indian food well and I'm afraid this restaurant is not up to participate. To top it off, they only take cash,!!@##@! Why only cash. They seem to have a terrific take out business. Folks in the area beware if you are used to good curry!!!

Gorgeous food and the delivery is always quite speedy even on a weekend night.Would definitely recommend!

Has been a regular stop of mine for many years now. It's very good in all areas and i will continue to order from here, no question. But for the last few years the quality, sadly, has become a little inconsistent. Sometimes dishes turn up that I've had many times before (so very familiar with it), but look prepped differently, and taste far, far superior, with different garnishes on top, etc. I'm not sure what the cause of this is, but my guess is they have more than one chef, and one is not up to par. If they could nail the consistency issue, I'd order more frequently, as when it's good, it's seriously good. I know they have a second restaurant in Cheshunt, and i feel that was the day the Hoddesdon one suffered a little as it used to be fantastic on any night.

dinner takeaway was lovely.Very generous portions and by far the best I have had in a long time. Ingredients used were of high quality and I would highly recommend.The front of house gentleman was also very friendly and helpful.

I've eaten here a half dozen times. It's good, not exceptional. I haven't found exceptional in the Hertford area yet for a curry. But this is probably one of the best ones I can find. Food is good quality, quantity and price. Delivery had also been reliable.

Really good quality food the staff alway try to accommodate any special requests. I am on a diet and don't want any gee or oil on my food they alway do me an oil free meal and it taste fab! We use TN about once a week I definitely recommend it.

I had food in my friends house from TANDOORI NIGHTS HODDESDON. That was the best Indian takeaway I came across. I wander why they Winner of good food awards 2015 2016. Food was piping hot lovely tests very nice service. I will try again when come next time to the area. I recommend to others try and food from Tandoorinights

For a great takeaway this is the best in town,so give tandoori nights a go. The chicken silsia is great. Order via the App (available on App Store) and get 10% discount.

Picked up food very pleasant lady at front desk, took food home took out the pashwari naan and it was a very unpleasant site you wouldn't feed it to an animal that bad I will not upload a photo of it as I don't want to embarrass them, I took it back straight away the nice lady at front desk agreed it wasn't right she took it to the kitchen only to be confronted by the manager who rather than apologise and rectifie the mistake decided instead to accuse me of purchasing it some where else and returning it to that restaurant! Matter was resolved with a new naan shame about the service as rest of food was nice, I will not be using or recommending them again as I don't appreciate being called a liar

Excellent meal, generous portions, well done Tandoori Nights!Although it was new years eve the meal was delivered promptly and was just as we ordered. First time we have ordered online, and it went off without a hitch.

from the house special to balti special....each and every dish that i have had so far made me a convert to this wonderful takeaway...if i ever pass hoddesdone herts again...im sure to take a couple of the tasty bhuna....recommend the chicken tikka!!

Had 2 mixed grills with Naans,1 chicken madras 2 pilau rice & a variety of chutneys very happy with all we got, would deffo recommend & we will use again.. A v good take away

our top choice when we want takeaway. They have an app which means we can order using our smartphone. We have never had a bad meal and they deliver promptly. Friendly service- definitely recommend.

Probably the worst Indian meal I have eaten in a very long time. Everything was basically overcooked from the starters to the meat in the curry. The curry tastes positively artificial and could have been a supermarket meal for all we knew. On a positive note the portions are huge which probably explains why it's so expensive. Not for us I'm afraid and never again.

Been eating from Tandoori Nights for over three years now and never had a bad one yet. Good friendly service every time and reasonably priced too.

We ordered our takeaway based on a local EAT magazine. The food was pretty dismal. The vegetable samosas were really undercooked, with the pastry being really white and the filling was awful. The main courses were swimming in oil. Found the place really ovverated and definitely will not be going back.

There is not, in my opinion, a better Take-Away for Indian Food that I know of, I must admit that we have tried others but we always come back to this one, in fact, we'll just stick with Tandoori Nights from now on. Never had a bad meal from there.The staff are always polite and welcoming and the food is very well cooked and flavour some. On busy nights, such as a Saturday, it is best and quicker to ring and collect though.

This is first time we have had your food- thoroughly enjoyed it. Tandoori cooking very accomplished. As a frequent visitor to Brick Lane it compared very well.Only criticism was that food had lost some of its temperature because of delivery, however, was extremely tasty. Had it been piping hot you would have had an excellent rating. May well order and collect in future - but will definitely be back. Want to try more authentic Sylheti dishes.What a great asset for Hoddesdon!

lovely tast of the dish Xacuti chicken, medium spicy with chess toping, something difren then other indian restaurent in local. chicken is unvelible taste. excelint service, good comunication. i strongly recomand to have a dinner from tandoori nights, you will expreince life time.

Don't bother with the restaurants, stay in with a tandoori nights takeaway. Their specials are really good. Highly recommend the Goan Chicken and the mango and chicken curry.

Good food and good value but delivery food is often a bit luke warm - would have been 5 stars otherwise!

We have used Tandoori Nights in Hoddesdon many, many times now over the last 8-9 months since it was recommended to us by another family member.We have always been extremely pleased with the food, the service and delivery time.There are many indian restaurants around here so are not stuck for choice but Tandoori Nights is the one we find ourselves going back to again and again.Kind Prawn Purée, Onion Bahji and Samosa's to start, Chicken Silsila, Chicken Tikka Naga Bhuna (Hot) or Tandoori King Prawns for main with Bombay aloo, Pilau or Keema Rice and Garlic Naan are all highly recommended.Us, our children and our parents all love the food from Tandoori nights and free local delivery to Nazeing is a bonus.I have no hesitation in recommending Tandoori Nights to anyone.I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

they took an hour and a half just to realise the order, after 2 hours i was told it was with me when it obviously wasn't. I didn't even get to try the food!

the best indian dish i ever had, staffs are very friendly, meal hot on service, timing was perfect, i will recommend others. there is no other better takeaway then tandoori nights.

had a great take away from here. The chicken pieces were freshly cooked so moist and lovely rather than cubed rubber at other places. Potions were very good. Will be using from now on. Will be recommending to others

Stands out above most other local Indian takeaways for its varied menu. The prices are competitive and altgough I live almost 5 miles away (in Hertford) there was no problem about free delivery to the door. The food was hot on arrival and the delivery person was friendly and courteous. The meal itself was tasty and fresh - lovely!

We used to get take away from Tandoori Nights on a regular basis. The food is very good. However the last two times we have ordered its taken 1.5hrs to arrive.

Just have to say that in the last couple of weeks i have used this restaurant twice as i have been working abroad. The food i have had and the speed with which it has been delivered has been first class. had the tandoori mixed grill -no artificial colouring, the tarka dahl one of the best ..ever Just very good well priced food. I have written this to thank them although i am tired and going abroad again tomorrow. Loveley food!!
