Tandoori Nights in Tendring

I've been to Tandoori Nights, and it's a gem! The atmosphere is cozy, the staff is friendly, and the food? Absolutely delicious! They serve up some of the best tandoori dishes I've ever tasted. If you're in the mood for authentic Indian cuisine, this place is a must-visit!

I've been ordering from here for years and the taste and quality is still the same. One of the best in Clacton.

We always order from Tandori nights but was not happy on Saturday... Ordered 18.15pm to make sure order arrived at a decent time ... 20.00pm still no food called them to be told the driver had an accident but food was packed and is on its way (thanks for calling me and letting me know this?)I kept calling as I was so hungry but no answer?... 20.30pm 2 hrs still no food husband called them off his phone "its with driver 15 mins " 21.00 still no food called them no answer 21.10 cancelled order 21.30pm food arrived too late as I went and got mc donnalds! Over 3hrs for a curry.. jokers!

Waited over an hour longer for our food that we were meant to. We had to ring and was told in very broken english that it would be with us at some point soon. On arrival the delivery driver told me i had to pay an extra £5 for delivery cash or he would have to take my food home. I told him no chance, I paid a service and delivery fee on the app and if there was additional cost then take it up with just eat, take my food back if not. After a phone call with the owner (driver called him) and 10 minutes on the phone i was told to take my food. I then got a freezing cold meal with overcooked dry meat. The whole meal was quite frankly disgusting and we wont be using this place again, thankfully we go home tomorrow so wont need to eat here again. Avoid at all costs, dodgy dealing trying to push you into paying more 'off app' before you are allowed your cold food. Terrible place intimidating women in the dark on your own - poor show and even poorer food.

Very good curry tonight great chef. Everything was cooked good ,we really enjoyed it 👍 The chicken tikka vindaloo and lamb madras not greasy and was fresh and full of flavor the garlic and chilli rice is so good. We have had a few over the past few month that was not to your usual standards but definitely happy with this order. Thank you.

These people will rob you of your money. I ordered a delivery which had an attached delivery charge. Then I got a call to say that I need to pay the driver an extra delivery charge which I said no to. They took my money, marked the delivery as successful and stole my money. I have never received any food from them and they are refusing to refund me. STAY AWAY!!

Rubbish Food!!! They gave plan yogurt instead of Raita. They don’t know how raita receipe. Bhindi sabji was not cooked well. Paneer masala was sweet.

Best Indian takeaway in Clacton the tandoori mixed chill to die for, the extras they give you amazing 🤩 never will go to any Indian takeaway apart from this ONE BEST EVER!!!!

Very naughty they used to be ok now there just ripping you off I purchased a king prawn Madras £11.95 ok I got 9 prawns and loads of sauce nothing else in it and the saag aloo I ordered some of the potatoes were not cooked properly go else where guys get a proper Indian

Worst Indian take away I’ve had keema naan was horrible chicken tikka masala no flavour accept tomato chicken madras horrible I will never order from here again spent nearly £40 to just throw the food away

The food quality and service has gone downhill drastically. Used to order from here regularly. They messed up my order. Instead of prawn saag, got a cheese saag instead. This was the second time of ordering where they’ve done this. When they delivered the prawn saag, the prawns were raw. You’ll see from the photo the prawns are translucent. I think they thought the prawns would be cooked through by the time it got delivered to me. We got our money back for the dish after an argument with the takeaway - “the cheese saag was a freebie”, “the prawns are supposed to be clear”, “that’s how we normally cook it”.

Food arrived late every call was (give us 15min) curry like water nann undercooked dough was wet hardly any meat used to be great but I'll be finding a new curry house

The food is always great and has always been delivered on time - preordered mine today and was given a time estimate of 5:55 but it arrived at 5:30 which was great as i was hungry :-) My family has been ordering here for a few years now, definitely our favourite in the area

Dahl was like soup and no flavor or Lentils. Burnt popadum. Salty mushroom rice. Roti was like stale bread. Samosa was the best bit. Stater I'm vegan so get sent to tubs or mint dip. Wasted my £ on a rubbish treat. Ordered through uber and they don't care.

Orderd food at 5pm and I'm still waiting for it and every time I call it just says line bust got a feeling I won't be getting my food

Another favourite of mine. Delivery is fast, dishes are awesome, friendly service and fantastic prices. Try the Meat Biryani it’s absolutely scrumptious also Chicken Tikka Masala & Sag Aloo are my favourite, Bombay potatoes are to die for, portions are above average from what you get from many takeaway’s . I Would recommend this to anyone who loves a curry. Bravo Guys awesome cuisine. 5 star

Absolute shambles!! Ordered at 8.20pm, arrived cold, dishes missing at 10.15pm and no refund offered for missing food and the owner/manager said ‘’ you are not getting your food you don’t have to order from here again’’ Joke of a place, don’t bother using them!!

I ordered my dinner from here 2 weeks ago , the food turned up over 2 and half hours late , I rejected the order as I was no longer hungry . they informed me that they put the order on credit ,for next time . I tried once on a Friday to which they asked if I could order in the week as its busy which I understood .however I have called to get my dinner on a Tuesday and they made another excuse . Terrible service food isn't that great . Do not recommend

Amazing food. Visiting while on holiday, totally recommended this place. Extremely kind staff made a vegetable masala for me which wasnt in the menu. Gorgeously tasty.

Terrible food. I ordered an achari and is was so salty it was inedible, it was also the consistency of baby food. Literally one mouthful and I threw it away. My girlfriend ordered tikka masala which was redder than I've ever seen a masala, and just tasted of tomato. It could have been lamb with tomato ketchup. The worst Indian food I've ever had anywhere. It all ended up in the bin. I called the restaurant to tell them, I didn't even want any money back or a replacement, and they were purely rude. Saying it was supposed to be like that, and just said goodbye, goodbye and hung up. Never again. Ever. Go somewhere else.

Since the decline of golden curry. I have been trying various other curry houses in the area. Sadly. Knights falls short in a number of areas. Let's start with the good. Portion size is very good. Meat tenderness. Friendly delivery Now the bad. Biryani is truly terrible. Madras is watery. Naga was decent. Vindaloo was not hot at all.

Ordered online through the website which was quick and easy with option to collect or have delivery. The menu is clear and the dishes well described. Collection was 30 mins. Arrived at the restaurant and the food was packed and ready within 5 mins. The smells coming from the bag were intoxicating and we weren't disappointed when we started to eat. Crisp delicious onion bhaji delicious spiced curries and perfectly cooked rice and soft fluffy naan. The only reason not a 5 star was that the kebabs were slightly overcooked and slightly dry. Definitely recommend

I've never left garlic naan before ordering from Tandoori Nights. The food was disappointing for me, but my partner liked that it was bland, so a 2 instead of a 1 star. I'd like to say what tasted the best from the order, but everything pretty much tasted the same. Delivery was about an hour and a half, food was warm tho. Portion sizes were decent. Sadly, won't be ordering again from here.

Was a regular here but after recent times, will be trying elsewhere. Pre ordered twice and twice were over an hour late. You call to get an update giving them a grace period first of at least 20/30mins and you get lied to as to where your food is. Food is normally good but depends on chef. Overall very hit and miss, you could get a fantastic service and meal or get an under average meal and very poor customer service.

Ordered on uber eats 25-45 min delivery time soon became 1.15-1.35. No food after 2.10, told food was sitting waiting as they have no drivers. What a joke, don't waste your time.

Best curry I have found in the local area. Great sized portions and fantastic customer service! I'm no critic, but I knows a good curry when I eat one. It's all good- you can't miss.

Order at 5:30pm was told 6pm to 6:20pm phone up restaurant at 6:45pm told another 10 to 15 mins receive meal at 8:00pm.

Disgusting service and rude on the phone. They lie and tell you that your food is on the way and clearly it wasn’t. 40 minutes late. Do not use

So Disappointed ... Won't be back Used to go to Chutneys all the time so ordered a takeaway as tandoori nights are the same people and we have used them before. Well I don't know whats happened, maybe a new chef? The rice, nans and onion bhajis and sundries were fine but the 4 poppadums were burnt black, prawn puri starters were thick, rubbery and soaked in water - worst I've ever had and the mains which were curries, vindaloo and dupiaza were awful. Meat tasted like frozen cubed chicken from iceland, we paid extra for tikka :0( and the sauces were like tomato soup no spice blend, no depth to the flavour - supermarket ready meals are tastier! Ordered at 6.30pm for delivery at 8pm food arrived at 9.50pm - wish we had'nt waited but if the meals were half decent I would'nt complain as it was new years eve. An appropriate ending to 2020 which was absolutely rubbish. Really dreadful when your spending £20 a head for a meal as a treat - I don't know how they get away with it and advise you all to go elsewhere.

Just had a very enjoyable meal from Tandoori Nights. Delivery was very speedy. The food was superb, very tasty, and plenty of it. I would recommend Tandoori Nights to anyone that likes Indian food.

Had to wait two hours hours for our meal .. can't believe that .. phoned Tandoori Nights twice to find out where our food is! Won't pay online again should there ever be a long delay in future so that we can refuse delivery if need to. We tried to time our meal for our normal eating time knowing that apps (we ordered via Chefonline) can underestimate delivery + based on past experience of ordering fromTandori Nights we know that on a busy night delivery can be at least an hour. Hubby is diabetic. I ended up having to make him a quick meal because order took too long to arrive. Food was mostly very nice except Keema Nan had very little lamb in it + Nan bread were quite doughy compared to usual.

Tried this for the first time tonight, unfortunately there was a slight hiccup with our order, but this was soon corrected. The food was really lovely and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Don't bother, after a 2 & half hour wait, apart from poppodums food was awful especially the aloo gobi, never again.

Food was so nice. Had a bit of wait to delivery but was well worth it. Good value for money. Was polite and honest about wait on phone and delivery driver was nice. Food wasn't greasy. Chicken was nice and moist and portion size was r.good. I recommend this takeaway best I've had in years

Came on holiday and I needed some quick food for the family. Decided to pop in here and the service was great. Food came quick and was piping hot. It was also delicious. Would recommend to others aswell. Definitely going to come here next time.

Ordered for the first time today and the curry amazing. Ive tried many other Indian takeaways but none of them were like this. The food was wonderful and the service was quick. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

Just had curry from here and can honestly say its the best takeaway curry i have ever had. Well worth the money.
