Great menu and good service. Good gluten free options. I chose the mushrooms on sourdough which was amazing, also crab and prawn linguine was delicious as was the scrambled egg with crab. Food was faultless as was the service. It was very noisy in the back part of the restaurant, it was quite busy but probably because of the actual building itself. My autistic daughter found the noise level a little overwhelming. 4 meals and drinks the bill came to £75. Definitely recommend this place.

Truly delight coffee place. Very welcoming vibes from the staff and service with smile. All staff were friendly and attentive. I got surprised when entered because it was full packed even i can’t stand. So i’ll have to wait for 5 minutes. Cafe divided into two parts, one for quick coffee and other side for food which was good to manage things. Hadn’t time so decided to have just coffee. Flat white and cappuccino both were full of great taste. Coffee was good. Happily recommend this place

A great fresh prepared food venue. Also very good coffee. Staff are always attentive and friendly. Often go for smashed green with a couple if poached eggs, def worth a visit if your in the centre as its quite quirky and different to other offerings on the back streets near Sheffield Hallam Uni, also handy fir the train station.

We had breakfast here, flat white coffee and the French toast special. Everything was delicious!

Very disappointed. First visit in a few years and has really gone off. Very greasy, small portion - tiny hash brown fat oozing out, (deep fried?) uninteresting sausage patty again fried in fat, greasy bacon. Rocket - certainly not fresh. Far fewer menu items than on website - if you are not offering items, change your website!

It's always been a favourite place to visit for a treat but was disappointed when we visited today. We were short on time before work but popped in just after 8am and despite it not being busy, were overlooked by the waitress who for whatever reason served every other table that arrived after us. Disappointed and will probably give it a miss next time

Unfortunately this place is very much style over substance. The food was really poor and the coffee isn’t great, quite an unpleasant aftertaste. The menu is pretty limited for vegetarians. We arrived at 2pm (not exactly near closing time) and they had already sold out of nearly all the specials and the french toast. I ordered the special sourdough toast and it was awful - the broccoli on my toast was drowning in salt and completely inedible: they must have cooked it in salt and then added more rock salt. My partner ordered the Turkish eggs and they were drowning in oil - it was just a bowl of labneh with some eggs in there somewhere and what looked like 1/4 bottle of oil it was disgusting. Our friends had the burger which they said was actually ok. They also wouldn’t make scrambled eggs (a side you can order off the menu) after 12pm which just makes no sense when you can order fried or poached. The place was busy and had a nice atmosphere but honestly I would avoid, there are so many nicer places to eat in Sheffield where you will get some good food as well as a nice vibe

Stylish, lively cafe/restaurant in a converted factory, with a charming courtyard full of plants. It was very busy on a Saturday morning, so we were glad we booked in advance. The staff were hugely efficient - as they needed to be. This is a popular place! The coffee was excellent, and the food selection was huge, beautifully presented and really tasty. I had the corn fritters, with a side of fries, and didn't need to eat, apart from a small snack in the evening, for the rest of the day! Highly recommended! ❤️

Returned to Tamper after it being out regular feeding hole last year, it's fair to say this place is consistently an amazing place to eat, with great food, great service and an all out lovely place!

The banana cake is a standout—moist, subtly sweet, and packed with flavour. It feels homemade in the best way. Their French toast is indulgent without being too heavy, with just the right amount of crunch and softness. And the avocado toast? Fresh, generous, and perfectly seasoned—simple, but done really well. Great vibes, friendly staff, and a menu that hits all the right notes. Definitely worth a visit (or two).

The portion sizes have definitely shrunk since my last visit, which was disappointing. To make things worse, my friends and I all ordered a same dish today, and each of us received a different portion size - there’s clearly no consistency. I’ve also been seated at a shared table on my last three visits, which isn’t ideal after queuing for a while. Sadly, the overall food quality seems to be going downhill too.

I came last Thursday and came Saturday the week before and the coffee was really nice had a Cappucino the week before Latte last week the Szechuan Chicken and Waffle Bene was exceptional it was cooked to a first class standard and it is one of the best waffles I have ever had

***YOU OWE US AN APOLOGY !!!*** RUDE, DISCRIMINATION to the minority by the staff member who allocated the seats on Sun 29 Sep 2024. ‘GET OUT’ said by the manager on the day to customer who simply intend to join the queue to walk in. What a place! SHAME ON YOU!!! ***Update*** If you check the security camera, you can understand how rude that staff member behaved and what discrimination we faced. We were told to wait for half an hour as we have no booking in advance when we came here in the morning. We decided to go. Around half an hour later, we came back and asked the same person if we can have a table since nobody else queued. The staff member who allocated the seat told us they didn’t serve walk in people and advised us to have food and drink at cafe area. We feel strange and unbelievable but we went to cafe area where only two kinds of cakes available. What really upset us was that afterwards many people walked in the restaurant while we were waiting for the coffee. So I asked that staff member “No offence but why could not we join the queue and have a table?” That staff member said the rule had changed and now they could take walk in people. I said to her that “You can’t treat people this way. We have been waiting here for a long time. It feels rude and it is a discrimination.” But that staff member still refused to allocate seat and said something arrogantly. That’s what made me angry. And the manager joined the conversation and ended up with “Get out”. Please be noted that over the whole communication I said nothing bad, nothing dirty. You showed no respect. I chose to leave not for what you said, I simply did not want to stay here any longer. I share my experience at this restaurant and believe RESPECT is the value we all share.

Visited a few times for breakfast and always lovely, well cooked food. It can get a little busy and loud but still a good atmosphere. Good choice for veggie or vegan options too. On street parking has always been available when I've visited or the train station is only a short walk.

Right out of the gate, the employees are really kind and the atmosphere is walk and welcoming. While there was a long wait, the phrase 'good things come to those who wait' and that definitely applies to this place. Bitter and sweet coffee and great customer service is what awaits anyone who enters. £4.10 might be a steep price but it's warranted because the taste is worth the price. The Seating is also comfortable for a long stay too. I highly recommend coming here

Been here a couple of times for brunch last year and recently after the menu has been updated ! The food and service was great - I would 100% recommend. The matcha was also unreal

Came for food/coffee just before 12pm. We were seated to a table very quickly, and given menus, not long after a lady took our drinks order, again drinks were brought to us in a good time. However after being seated for about 10 mins we asked if we could order some food, I was told they'd send someone over. Another 10 mins goes by I ask at the front bar if someone could take our food order as we had received our drinks but no one had come to take our food order. To note there were other people who arrived after us that got their food order taken. Our order was taken, the food was really good and has been on a previous visit. It is just a shame that it took so long for us to get ordered, we obviously understand that on a Saturday just before lunchtime it would be busy, however if we were told either at the beginning when we were shown to our table or when we got our drinks that there would be a wait or that there is a small wait or delay due to staff, then we would of been completely okay with this. The couple sat next to us were also just about to get up to ask about the status of their order as their food was arriving, I think the system they have in place doesn't seem to be working efficiently. As unfortunately the quality of the service should match the quality of the food, we do like Tamper but this is the second time the service has been slow/ not efficient and we may be put off to come again. Given the food is so fantastic its a shame it isn't enough of a draw to change our minds.

Was my first time visiting and i will be back!! The food was absolutely amazing - on the first bite i was sold on the quality of the dishes! However what was a little of a let down was the service, the staff didn’t seem to want to be there. However the girl who took our payment at the end (not our server) was very sweet. The atmosphere is very lively as it is clearly a popular spot and will be loud with conversation but that is standard - we did not mind this at all.

Booked a table for my birthday, and as always we were not disappointed. Service with a smile, attentive and attention to detail. Food absolutely awesome Great atmosphere, lively but not loud. Love this place ❤️

Great food however there are quite a few staff who are just rude and not welcoming. Whoever manages this place needs to really work on teaching their staff how to approach customers.

Lovely fresh coffee - my only gripe is unfortunately it goes cold way too fast. Might be better if they preheat the mugs or used a different material instead of aluminium mugs - they're not great for heat retention. Forgot to take photos of my meal it was so good! Great gluten free options and knowledgeable staff. Can't wait to return!

Lovely little place, very cosy and friendly great coffee

The food was good. The scrambled eggs had a nice, smooth texture, but the crab meat wasn’t very noticeable. The braised beef was a bit tough, and both of the drinks I wanted were sold out. It would be better if they had more stock available.

Lovely food and great menu to choose from. Perfect for breakfast or lunch solo or with friends. Everything made brilliantly and a real chic feel to the place. Will be back to try something off the lunch menu, but was slightly deterred by pricing first time round. My almond croissant though, was buttery, flaky and filled generously.

Excellent service, the employees are very sweet. They did ask me to move tables right after I ate which usually annoys me but the place is quite busy so I get it. I had the seasonal toast with roast pumpkins. The ingredients are top-notch and the dish was quite interesting. One of the best poached eggs I've ever had. I think the dish can be a little more balanced if another egg was added, more greens and salty mushrooms as overall it was a little too sweet. Would definitely come again the more dishes

Great brunch place with tasty food. Coffee was also really nice. They forgot poached egg on my plate and I had to go ask for it. Also quite busy so when on the way out I wanted to buy croissant I ended up waiting around and gave up.

Been there so many times. Loveliest place for a good brunch

I have been scammed a couple of times in my life, nothing major; but nothing could have prepared me for this type of scam: "The Turkish Eggs" scam is probably at the top of my list right now. Never in my life I would have thought to pay 18.30£ for a bowl of insipid milk-like "yogurt" with chia and pistachio seeds all over the place; with 2 poached eggs which sunk so deep within the bowl that I thought a royal navy submarine might collide with it at some point. The white soup ("Turkish Eggs" said in the menu, can you imagine) that I was served was accompanied by 2 slices of 1cmx6cm of so called insipid (I started wondering here, if there was a shortage of salt in the kitchen) Turkish bread. Now lucky of me, I ordered an add on of bacon rashers, because I trusted this establishment before, so why not now? Darwin must be laughing at me; I should have notice the hint of what this restaurant has become after spotting the new lamps in the tables, even the staff -or shortage of it more like it- was running around to no avail. The only thing that saved my morning was the bacon that I ordered; and barely did so after sinking in the bowl of white paint that I was served, just like the poached eggs and my complete respect for this restaurant. I have uploaded the picture of "The Turkish Eggs" AKA The White Substance. This might be the first time that a picture might reflect the flavour of the dish, that is of course: nothing. Good aesthetic tho! Give you that!

Had such a great meal here. Portions are definitely on the big side, so you get good value for money. Would definitely return and recommend it to people. Restaurant was full which is always a good sign

Tuvimos un desayuno maravilloso aquí. Personal muy entusiasta y atento. Se siente seguro y cálido por dentro. Un menú inventivo, y no exagerado. El único problema innecesario es la imposibilidad de elegir huevos revueltos sin pagar un recargo. ¿Es un poco tonto?

The food and coffee were good but unfortunately the service was disappointingly poor. We tried to book online on the day. The website said bookings weren't available but there were plenty of walk-in spaces. We arrived at 12:30 and were greeted by a manager who told us there would be a table free in about 15 mins and we were next on the list. We had a coffee in the front and as we waited a number of people came in and were seated, we assumed with a prior booking. After 45 mins we asked if there was any problem and were told by the manager that they had accidentally crossed us off the list. After another 15 mins we were finally seated and enjoyed a tasty lunch. However, we then had to ask twice for the bill after waiting another 20 mins. The manager seemed pretty unprofessional and not particularly bothered about the service we'd received. I don't like to badly rate an independent local business but this was a really poor experience from somewhere we had been looking forward to visiting. I hope this was just a bad day and we'll maybe try going again in the future.

First time visiting and definitely won't be the last. It was busy when we arrived but we were very quickly seated at a clean table after being handed a menu to peruse while waiting. Drinks and food order was promptly taken and delivered. The coffee was one of the best ones I have had in a long time and the Royale Bene was delicious. The staff was amazing and couldn't do enough for us, making sure everything was okay with the food and drinks and making us feel welcome. The only tiny 'downside' was that it was a little loud for a relaxing coffee shop but it was new years day and very busy and it did not personally bother us all that much. Hope to visit again soon.

Awesome food and love the venue but very disappointed they no longer offer hand brewed coffee at the weekend. Seeing as I booked lunch here to have that availability. I placed my coffee order for a hand brew and it was accepted only to be told 5 minutes later that it’s not available at the weekend.

A 15 minute wait for a takeaway coffee is ridiculous. Not worth missing my train for, no matter how good the coffee is.

The place is beautiful, the coffee we had was amazing, the food was also reeally good. However, we waited over an hour to be served ( the food), which was quite stressful since we had a plane to catch. We thought arriving 1 hour and 15 minutes in advance would be enough, but unfortunately, it wasn’t. I would highly recommend this spot if you have the whole morning free to enjoy it, but otherwise, it might not be the best choice.

Se anuncian como perros amistosos y sin embargo, solo se le permite en el área de comida para llevar en la parte delantera, donde las mesas son tan pequeñas que apenas puede caber un par de tazas allí. Es patético. Un perro que se comporte bien y se siente tranquilamente debajo de una mesa no debería ser un problema para nadie. ¡Si vas a anunciarte como dog friendly al menos proporciona un área donde sea posible tener comida!

Fantastic coffee and great service, lovely place to sit and relax

The selection of beans is nice, but the barista work was disappointing. Both drinks were tepid (45-50 ℃) and came separated into a layer of light, bubbly dry foam on top of watery milk. It's a nice spot and could be really good coffee with training and troubleshooting on fundamentals. The service was great.

The chicken mother clucking burger is unreal!! Must try. Nice ambiance and friendly staff too.

Me and my partner are still sat in here now after finishing what I’d say is the best breakfast we’ve both had all year. Bella was our server, she was lovely and had great customer service. The vibes are perfect, and I couldn’t say anything bad about this place.

Whilst the food and coffee are very good, the management is not. They are horrible to their staff which shows in the high turnover. Sadly there are quite a few independent cafes who get away with this behaviour.

Sheffield's Temper Coffee is a true delight! Both the coffee and the matcha latte I had were excellent, they were expertly prepared and incredibly flavourful. The Temper Classic breakfast, which I also selected was incredibly tasty. The staff members was fantastic, they were welcoming, kind, and attentive. It was a wonderful place to chill out and eat because of the cosy and welcoming ambiance. I definitely suggest it to anyone in Sheffield searching for a fantastic coffee shop. I will most certainly return soon!

Coffee was good. However, we were sold to 'eat in' despite them being overbooked - they hadn't checked but put it through as that anyway. We sat down but were shortly moved on and very nearly handed the saucers and cups with our drinks in as if to go. We then had to ask for takeaway cups as if it wasn't obvious.

En un día de partido de fútbol, todos los pubs de la ciudad estaban muy ocupados. Así que encontramos este pequeño lugar justo lejos del bullicio principal. Lugar encantador, café de calidad, y la zona exterior con calentadores de patio un gran lugar para el desayuno. Es un poco elegante en las apuestas del desayuno, definitivamente en el lado del precio más alto y un poco experimental con cosas como deslizadores de maíz dulce, frijoles rústicos y tocino muy gordo. Pero en general buena comida.

Went for breakfast on a Sunday morning. Waited 20 mins to be seated outside - was left another 20 mins before anyone came to take our order. We each had a ‘hot’ chocolate. They were Luke warm when they arrived and felt more like warm milk - all the chocolate had sunk to the bottom. We had asked for tap water when we first sat down but this didn’t arrive. After 30 minutes we had to go inside and ask again. We ordered from the breakfast menu but 15 minutes later the server came to tell us 2 of our meals were no longer available and we were unable to order from the breakfast menu again as the food would arrived after 12pm. It was 11:40am when we were told. I had the Turkish eggs and tallow fries. The eggs were very oily but an ok dish. The fries were flaccid and soggy. No one came to ask how our food was or offer us more drinks. We paid at the bar and promptly left. Won’t be returning - a real shame as always used to enjoy Tamper.

Just SO good. Amazing venue and a great menu, clearly well-curated and preserving the kiwi touch! (offering Milo in about 3 different drinks formats 😁). Props to the chefs who you can see hard at work if you're sat near the kitchen; the food was delicious.

This is by far one of the most delightful places I've been for brunch in a long time! The food is absolutely delicious: unique, tasty, well seasoned, plentiful, full of texture and packed with flavour. The vibe is spot on NZ coffee shop and everyone is really friendly. The pastries/cakes are spot on too. Definitely a place I want to revisit every single time I go to Sheffield.

It’s become our regular go to on our football visits to Sheffield and yesterday we booked ahead of going to Hillsborough. Again, really enjoyable meal served by very helpful staff. We will look forward to visiting again when next in the city.

Friendly service and a welcoming atmosphere, excellent prices, I happen to go on a pretty busy day so it was quite loud in the downstairs area but the food was delicious, regret not going bigger but I will be going back!!

Absolutely love the coffee and vibe at Tamper - recommend for that alone. But there is nowhere in Sheffield that an oat milk flat white is justified at £4.10. There are so many great coffee shops in Sheffield, so sadly i'll have to drop my Tamper coffee, that for the record, is delicious. Still felt bad giving any less than 4 stars though...

Food is really nice and good quality. On the expensive side but filling. We did have to query our order àfter a long wait however, but they did knock 10% off the bill as a result.

After eating and drinking a number of times in Tampa we returned. I chose the chill beans on toast with feta and pesto. Whilst eating I found a piece of plastic in the feta. I informed a member of staff (think the manager) just to let them know but I was still happy to continue eating the food who told me it was a salt crystal. It was certainly not as it was perfectly shaped like a pyramid which a salt crystal is not ! He said he would take my hot drink off the bill which he did not do. When paying the bill with a young lady still sitting at our table her gum that she was chewing fell out of her mouth onto the table between my daughter and I. She panicked and quickly grabbed the gum off the table saying “oh god, I’m so sorry”. I glanced at my daughter who had also noticed. The young lady then went behind the counter to tell another young member of staff about her funny ordeal. Not a pleasant experience for myself and family. After this experience won’t be returning……what a shame.
