Good food & drink and really friendly staff waiting-on.

First time at this restaurant, and I can confidently say that I'll be returning. Not only were the staff kind to me as I had explained that it was my first time here, but they were also patient and looked as if they enjoyed their work. The food itself, I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the Sweetcorn and Ricotta Fritters, which I have never had before and now I can say it will be a dish I will be returning for! And for drinks I ordered a Dark Berry Smoothie to start off, then later added the Karma Raspberry fizzy drink later on. Both were very nice but I preferred the Dark Berry Smoothie over the Karma Raspberry fizzy drink 😅

The best place for brunch in Sheffield! The decor is lovely and it always has a cosy atmosphere. The coffee is some of the best I’ve ever had (shout out to the barista who made this gorgeous bunny) & the food is TOP TIER. The crab scramble is my absolute favourite!

I dare to say that this place is popular for a reason (remember to book a table). The food was great, didn’t need condiments added to them. Good balance, lots of colours to the food as well. We had the acai bowl (lovely!), the sweetcorn and ricotta fritters and chilli crab scramble. If the place wish to improve anything I’d recommend going the extra step and make your own version of the Tabasco instead of offering that bottled one. You clearly have the talent. Fine selection of tea. Good coffee, cute cups! Cool place, really! Well done! Outside was lovely too. Staff were sweet and attentive despite being very busy, so, well done!

First visit and what a treat, from a the delicious orange juice to the perfectly made flat white and fast attentive service. My friend had the Turkish Eggs and I opted for the acia bowl, one word, sublime, so good, definitely will return

Tamper is one of the best coffee spots in Sheffield! Their coffee beans are always fresh and bursting with great flavors. Tamper has you covered with their expertly crafted brews that are simply outstanding. The food options are equally impressive, with a range of delicious pastries and fusion brunch items that perfectly complement the coffee experience. Plus, the cozy ambiance makes it the perfect spot to catch up with friends or settle in with a good book. As the place gets really packed in the day, service can be really slow but the staff provides decent table service. Highly recommended to book a table prior to visiting to avoid disappointment.

Loved it! Great food & service. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Vegetarian options available. My friend loved the salt beef benedict, I chose the selection of toast with marmalade. Would recommend.

This place always surprises me!!! Im so happy they serve Darkwoods coffee,its my fav coffee roasters in UK!!! Their salt beef eggs benny are just out of this world,BANGING!!! also i have a few allergies so staff came to check on me and make sure the food doesnt have any allergens three times!! Shout out to the chef and staff :)

Finding a good independent can be hard but this place was another level! I had the best sweetcorn & ricotta fritters with avocado, poached egg & halloumi. This is my go to on a brunch menu & this is by far the best I’ve had! They also sell Milo hot or cold, which made my day & took me back to my travels! We stumbled upon this place by chance, it was super busy but enough staff on so no delays. I will go back next time I’m in Sheffield working!

Scarlott, Sienna & James were super friendly. Amazing customer service, the food came out super quick. The interior is beautiful and most importantly the food was superb. As a baker I was really impressed with the flavours of the food, and the plates were presented beautifully. Each plate is handcrafted to perfection. I would highly recommend to anyone. Lovely family feel to it too. Was delighted to know this was a family business, you can really feel it in the cafe. Can't wait to come back 💕🫶🏽

Really exceptional and almost over the top tasty food. Karaage chicken wings on waffles was mad, super rich & new. Coffee was also phenomenal. Staff also amazing. Could not fault the place & although the menu is slightly limited, everything we bought was next level good - almost so packed with flavour I wasn't sure if be able to finish it... but... obvs... I did.

A great coffee shop with a lovely, vibrant atmosphere and excellent service. Popped in with my dog, who is allowed in the front bar area only, but not the restaurant. A great coffee and cinnamon swirl. Highly recommended.

Their Turkish Eggs are divine! If you're ever in Sheffield, it's 100% worth a visit. The orange juice was so fresh, and coffee smooth. Really quick service and staff were attentive!

If you want some morning glory and then a happy ending, make your way to Tamper coffee. Be warned, if you order the infamous french toast, expect to be a zombie for the rest of the morning and not eat again until the evening. This must-have special changes frequently so don't be disappointed that you missed out on the mouth-watering peaches & cream. Perfect touches of Sheffield industry adorn this laid back environment, with plenty of seating for those eating alone, as well as a communal table for those wanting to sit with others. If you're not sure about the attire, look up Kevin Bacon in Foot Loose and you'll fit right in.

The best "fry up" I've ever had here, I think they called it the 'Big Kiwi' on the menu. All the produce was of the highest quality, including the amazing thick cut bacon. Higher price than elsewhere but worth it in my opinion, you get what you pay for.

A real find: fabulous brunches in an interesting space. The place to get a coffee if you’ve got 20 minutes to kill waiting at the station.

The shrooms and Turkish eggs tasted amazing. The waiter was so polite and cooperative and we enjoyed our meal. The whole atmosphere was cozy and pleasant.

My partner and I visited Tamper on 21st June and I have both positives and negatives with the experience. *We arrived early to our booking but brunette waitress with glasses showed us to our table and was very friendly. *The atmosphere was good, I’m aware it’s a very popular place to eat in Sheffield. *When we did bring up we had been waiting for our food for a long time, it was resolved quickly. The negatives are we were waiting for around 50 minutes for two food orders. A table of ladies near us complained they had been waiting for an hour. The waiter did admit that he had forgotten to put our order through on the till and that it wouldn’t be long. We were still waiting until we complained to another member of staff and then we got our dishes quickly. I appreciate it’s a very popular place to eat in Sheffield, but service needs to be improved. Our food was okay, but nothing special. Some of the bigger mushrooms were undercooked. I’d consider coming back if both of these areas were improved.

Visited here last week and it was my first time coming! I had the salt beef eggs Benedict which I thought were super tasty! My boyfriend had the kiwi breakfast which was a little underwhelming. Additionally the food came so so quick like within 10 minutes of us ordering so we were done in 30 mins which just felt a bit too rushed. Other than that it was a nice interior and had a good atmosphere! A little on the pricey side.

Have been here before and it has usually been was great so I definitely recommend, but the server who showed us to our table today seemed stuck up, sort of blamed us for an issue with *their* reservation system and then showed us to be seated at the worst table, a tiny 2-seater right in the middle of the walkway. Given that we booked 2 weeks in advance I expected a better table to be held for the reservation. Luckily they did not add a service charge to the bill as I would have asked for it to be removed.

Personally thought the beef eggs benedict was extremely salty, and the food at this standard is rather overpriced compared to most brunch places.

I was again disappointed, I keep giving them 2nd chances , not again , the staff were lovely and helpful but the chai latte tasted horrible, and the cronut was hard and stale !! I specifically asked if the cronut was fresh and was told they were, that was not the case, they have lots of staff you would think they would Get something right !

Excellent brunch, portion size decent enough for us to share and aromatic coffee. Avo on toast with halloumi wedges and bacon - recommend this combo.

Food was good, but service took forever even though it wasn't particularly busy - enough staff for 1 server per 2 tables, with all the staff walking around looking rushed off their feet, yet when it came to serving they would bring 1 plate, or 1 drink at a time? After waiting for server to come over ~20 mins after being seated we placed an order for the salt beef benedict, only to 10 mins later find out they'd sold out and so we needed to pick something else, a challenge when you're with someone who struggles with this kind of thing. This forced change also ultimately ended up costing more as we ended up choosing more expensive, but similar food options. There was no apology nor was the original price honoured for what we would've paid for the salt beef. Overall, a really poor experience, the food was okay but certainly not worth the rest of the experience.

Food was excellent. Service much less so. We had to grab someone to order in the first place after being sat down for 20 mins. The luke warm coffee arrived after another 20 minute wait. The food then arrived a minute or so later. As I said the food itself was really good. After we finished nobody rushed to clear the plates and when we managed to get someone’s attention and asked for more coffees we were initially told a waiter would come and take our order only to be told a minute later that the table we were at was needed for another booking and we were welcome to have a drink at the front. We declined as it was rammed in there. Lovely brunch ruined by shoddy service. If the service was quicker there would have been plenty of time to have the additional coffees we wanted. Customers shouldn’t have to flag down waiters to place an order in the first place, hot drinks should be served hot and when customers have finished eating the tables should be promptly cleared and any additional orders promptly fulfilled. You tampered with my enjoyment of a perfectly good brunch!!

went for breakfast (on the before 12 menu), it was a lovely atmosphere with very attentive and kind staff<3 the only thing that let it down was the scrambled eggs, me and my friend both went for that egg option and both found them quite tasteless and wet:(, apart from that though it was such an interesting spin on the regular cafès as it is new zealand inspired!

Oh My GOD! one of the best french toasts I've ever had! highly recommend! Iced mocha with carmel syrup, absolutely beautiful! beautiful decorated, unique, and stylish. Toilets clean and again unique. Service was absolutely amazing, so welcoming and friendly ( I wish I asked for names to give them credit ) I'm moving to Sheffield just for this french toast so see you soon 🙌🏾✨️

French toast is always nice, they change the toppings very often and coffee is always on point.

This place is very busy & popular. Went there on a Sunday morning at about 10.30 had to wait 25 mins for a table so had a coffee in the front. I got a table outside in a nice courtyard. Slow service but they were very busy. The food well, I would say it’s got a non U.K. theme. I had the Big Kiwi breakfast as I wanted as close to quality tasty traditional U.K. / Irish breakfast as I could get here. The bacon was streaky. I prefer back bacon as I don’t want loads of fat. The sausage lacked taste. They had ciabatta which was very hard on the edges. Would have preferred some quality bread toasted but that’s just my preference. It’s probably just not the place for me. Perhaps too traditional on breakfasts but this place will be great for the non traditionalists.

Perfect place for brunch. The food is very delicious. One of the best açaí I’ve ever tried. Service is a little bit slow but I think it’s normal because it was very busy there.

Decent spot for breakfast. Had the chilli crab scramble on sourdough, pretty tasty. Other half had the Big Ozzy vegetarian breakfast - good but hash brown a little small and the whipped tofu a little bland. Good coffee as you’d expect in NZ themed cafe. Staff seemed in a dreadful rush, ordered a couple of soft drinks that never arrived. It was a very cold spot on a sunny April morning.

Great venue and great breakfast. We hadn’t booked, but fortunately early enough to get a table. 🙏 Only a 4 as it was draughty 🥶, but Joe our waiter did shut the door. Water on the table and the offer of sauces would have been good. Loved the coffee.

Second visit to tamper after a stunning first visit. I myself went for the dish that blew my socks off first time round-the beef brisket Benedict and it certainly didn’t disappoint. My partner went for the avocado on toast a favourite of hers and it was good however the one disappointment with the dish was the chilli and orange marmalade. It (in our opinion) was just too much on the sweet side which detiriorated and overpowered an otherwise perfect dish. The coffee is outstanding, the service brilliant and we will continue to return

This place is amazing. I've been here several times. Most recently we had breakfast. I ate the eggs with salt beef, my partner ate eggs royale and my daughter had the scrambled eggs with crab meat. All of it was lovely. The coffee is great, we took some bags away with us too. Fabulous staff too.

Such a hip and cool place that’s bigger than it looks, can’t say the same for the mocha tho haha. £3 for a shot of mocha. Took over 5 mins to make it too

Love this place, make a visit everytime we're in Sheffield, one of the few places you can enjoy superb food drink and service whilst nodding along to bloc party or the kooks! Coffee is great and I always struggle to pick from the menu as all sounds (and looks, from plates walking past me) delicious. Prices are a little on the high side but worth it for the package. Good for kids too.

Coffee, food and atmosphere are great. Perfect for 2 people, a little too loud and crowded for more than 2.

What a great find this was. Absolutely lovely atmosphere and location. The food was great - caraway fries were a revelation! Friendly staff and great for watching the world go by. Will be back again when I next visit Sheffield.

One of the best Avocado on toast I ever had. Great coffee!

My wife, son and I visited for late lunch, the steak sarnie I had was very nice, I would have given 5 stars but although tasty the steak was not really warm and the fries again tasty were quite scrappy, little bits of hard fries. The place itself is a brick built building and was almost full which made it quite noisy with chatter. My wife had the smoked chilli crab scramble, basically scrambled eggs with crab, she said it was nice but not much of a crab taste. I think we would go back to try some of the other dishes. The service was spot on, really nice waitresses and the guy showing people to their tables was nice and chaty. Overall 7.5 out of 10.

It's really busy cafe, better to book table otherwise just like me waiting for 40mins. I ordered “ Tamper classic beef Mince N toast, and a latte / flat white. The flat white tastes much better than latte. The toast are so delicious, the toast with rich sauce, and served with a pouched egg. Love it! The streets of Jiefei are very deserted, but when you step into this store, it is very lively and popular! I ordered Tamper classic Beef Mince toast and Latte/ flat white. It was full of meat fillings. The crispy bread was filled with thick sauce. It was paired with a careful egg. I loved it! The flat white is obviously much better than the latte, but I forgot to take a photo. Full marks 💯!

We visited for brunch and had a fantastic meal at Tamper. We had the salt beef benedict and the egg florentine and both were absolutely packed with flavour. Portion sizes were generous and we finished our meal feeling very satisfied. We also had a coffee and a mocha; both of which were very tasty. Service was very friendly and the atmosphere is warm and vibrant. I would highly recommend a visit if staying in Sheffield. Very well located for the city centre and theatres.

Chicken and waffles were excellent, all food was great but the hash browns weren’t the best. Our waitress was lovely she was called Debra, there was a wait because it was busy and a bit loud but definitely worth it!

We were warmly welcomed into this quirky cafe, old tables and what looks like school chairs adds to the casual feel. Excellent coffee was quickly served and then I had mince on toast with a poached egg which was superb. (My father used to love leftover mince on toast for his supper) My wife had the french toast with blueberries coconut flakes and cream which looked stunning and tasted superb. We left very happy.

The French toast truly where chefs kiss !!! Sadly we went on Sunday without a booking and they were extremely busy to which we then rushed when being seated and then repeatedly being told by waiting staff they need the table. Other then the seating issue we thoroughly enjoyed the food and coffee there

Been to Tamper a few times, went for Brunch today, the Full Kiwi (pictured). Atmosphere was good as usual, but the poached eggs were cold and I was a bit surprised to be served dry toast. Had to ask for butter, which was so cold it was hard to spread. The sausages and bacon were top notch though.

Great service & loved the Energiser smoothie. Had eggs royale (comes with hot/cooked smoked salmon), big English muffin so some more sauce would have been better ratio wise. For example, Browns in town has a good balance with their hollandaise sauce & muffin so it doesn't feel dry. Would go back to try other breakfast dishes & another smoothie.

Great food and service. Good alternative to bottomless brunch by selecting your own lunch/drinks/cocktails. Steak sandwich was particularly good. Only negative was the limited time at table - only 1 HR 15 mins so if you wanted a long lunch you have to give up your table. Fortunately you can move to front of house where there is a seating area.

The food was good, but as a kiwi I was a bit embarrassed not to be able to tell my friends what was actually kiwi on the menu! It seems they're really milking that aspect. No kumura, no paua, no lamingtons or L&P... I'm also not a fan of the booking system (I only managed to book a spot after failing for two weekends! And the cafe wasn't even full!) and it would be nice if they put more vegan options on the menu.

Visited Tamper on a Friday mid morning for brunch. The environment looks great but lots of hard surfaces which makes it quite a loud place to be. The staff were friendly but busy so our time there felt a bit rushed. Coffee wasn’t very warm and one of our party felt the coffee tasted odd, waiting staff then asked a little abruptly and with no apology “what do you think is wrong with it” but it was replaced. I wasn't feeling great so didn’t pick anything too exciting off the menu that day but the toast wasn’t toasted and butter was not spreadable, disappointing for a basic request. The eggs royale was tasty. An average experience

Cannot rate Tamper highly enough. Stunning variety of unique dishes plus all the usual go to regulars such as eggs florentine etc. Lovely coffee too.

The customer service is 10/10, the food is 10/10.

The customer service was poor and we felt unwelcome, ignored most of the time and begging for table service but most of these coffee shops, that are a product of gentrification, feel like that. The staff kept frowning at my niece, who was 1, and it made us feel at unease, so we finished up quickly. The food, for the price, wasn't phenomenal, and if you enjoy the cold air of hipsters that believe they are culturally aware, then this is the place for you. If you have children, avoid this place. It will leave a bitter taste in your mouth.

Had the most delicious meal here! Staff were great, even though it was incredibly busy, and we really enjoyed our meal. Highlights: the big ozzy (the veggie breakfast with the most delicious hummus), the fudge cake and the French toast special which featured poached pear!! Will absolutely be back.

Got recommended by a friend and we're so glad we came by- as traveling Kiwis it's awesome to see L&P, pineapple lumps and (properly spelt) māori words as well as kiwi classics on the menu. Staff were awesome (family run business) and the food was amazing- the early burger and shrooms on toast smacked hard. 10/10, would come again- and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Very disappointed with my experience today at tamper. Booked the last table of the day and the waitress that served us forgot to put through a meal and as we were the last table the kitchen refused to turn the grill on and no other alternative was offered. The waitress did apologise and said they can bring us a round of drinks - she never did until we asked. Throughout the meal (the ones that were put through) the service was non-existent and we were constantly having the beg for basic things. This was one of my favourite places but the service and lack of care has really put me off.
